Nemeios:
Smar lay on the beach, sunning himself in a bit of down-time between shipping out. Kook was off somewhere doing his own thing which suited Smar just fine. Much as he and his brother were almost joined at the hip, they never minded a little time to themselves and never begrudged the other when he wanted it. They did most things together. Played as cubs, left their mother and aunt to go adventuring on their own, joined the Maestros together, the captain and his first mate.
Captain, ah, that was right. He had to stop thinking of himself as Smargad. That name was special, known only by his brother in this place. Here he was Nemeios, the great dragon.

He sighed and pawed a bit at the cloth on his foreleg, the mark of the serpent wiggling as the muscles in his shoulder bunched with his movements. What a nice, relaxing day.

Makena'Lesedi:
It had been a long travel for the Crew and their captains. They had returned not but a few days ago, all with trinkets and fruits that could make a king happy.
She had been tending to them with haste, as she knew they worked hard, and she wanted them cared for. They were all her family, after all, and most treated her with respect. Of course a few males of the pride liked to belittle her for being female. She was used to that though. It was better than trying to make herself mean to stay a crew member. No, that hadnt been what she wanted out of life. She wanted to raise cubs really, and thats mostly what she did. However she always made time for the crew when they returned. No matter what she was doing before they had arrived.

She hadnt even realized that Nemeios was near her for her mind was too much on her cubs that were nearing adolescence. Once they got there, she knew it was only a matter of time before she wouldnt see them for months as they went on their journeys. But she would wait for them to return, and treat them as she treated all teh crew. She would celebrate their return.

Nemeios:
Smar- Nemeios' green eyes settled on a familiar shape and his maw broke into a small smile. He could care less what some of the other males thought, females were a pleasant addition to his world. Growing up, he hadn't had any sisters in his litter, but he had his half-sisters/cousins and his mothers. But that wasn't really the same as having sisters of his own. And besides that, it had been even less fun when all the girls around you were related to you. They were boring.

Makena, now, she was much more interesting. She took care of them with so much devotion even when some of the other males looked down on her for her gender. Being raised by his mother and aunt after his father buggered off, Nemeios was never really conditioned to see females as anything less than strong lionesses who often got the short-end of the stick. Of course, she wasn't of his family, so naturally she'd be a little less strong/fast/clever/whatever, but he had to give credit where it was due. She was a strong asset to the pride.

"You look thoughtful, Makena, luv. I wouldn't get too deep in them, if I were you. Might get lost," he purred, smiling at her.

Makena'Lesedi:
She was alerted to the sound of the voice, but she wasnt fearful. She paused in her steps, and a smile came about her face. She turned her head, and nodded in greeting.
"Oh Nemeios, hello to you too." She said with her soft, gentle voice. She approached him, unafraid as he had never given her cause to be fearful of him. From what she had
seen of him, he was always very respectful of the females around. She had to admit.. He wasnt bad to look at either.

"How are you fairing today?" She asked, stopping once she was close to him, and sitting down, wrapping ehr tail around her legs. She cocked her head, waiting to see what he'd
say, as she always loved hearing the stories the pirates told. It made her feel like she had been with them. [Minus the killing of course!]

Nemeios:
Nemeios rolled a bit so that he faced her, more or less, his feather bobbing slightly with the movements.
"Not too terrible, better now with a lovely bit of company. Relaxing after the raids," he replied in that somewhat lazy, deep voice of his. It was a perfect cover for the quick, calculating mind within. He watched her sitting, it was such a proper pose, he wondered where she had been raised before coming to the pirates.

"And yourself? Your little brats not running you around too much, I hope?" It was nothing against her cubs and there was no derogatory tone in his speech, in fact there was some hint of affection in the word. All cubs were little brats to him, it was a tease that he enjoyed.

Makena'Lesedi:
She smiled, blushing, and turning her head coquettishly. With a chuckle, she spoke.
"Oh youre simply too kind, Nemeios. How is it that no one has snatched you up for their own yet hmm?" She asked. She had been raised a lady, but Pirato had savd her life from a hyena, and now she felt she owed the big lug. After all, he was a good friend to her, and so she felt right at home. Even if it was so very different than where she was raised.

"Oh no, my children are growing so quickly.. They will soon be joining the crew and I will have to watch from afar. Im far too young to watch my babies leave me." She said with a small laugh. Which was true, the female was still rather young in years.. Having only been all grown up for a year or so..

Nemeios:
Nemeios chuckled at her shy display.
"I guess I'm just too big and scary." Only not really. He was a large lion, but had been almost the youngest in his siblings, he'd also been one of the smallest. Kook was bigger than he was and he certainly wasn't a very fierce-looking lion unless he was forced to fight.

"They'll be great crew members. You've been teaching them properly, I've no doubt," he replied, one eyebrow rising, though under his head-band it was rather difficult to tell. He really didn't doubt her. She was very much a part of the pride, she took her place in it seriously from what he had seen and he had bets that her cubs would be good little crew members and a corsair when they grew into their position.

Unless her daughter decided to be a crew member. Which wasn't a problem either, at least not in his mind. He was one of the captains that didn't really mind a female in his crew as long as she pulled her own weight and didn't make a distraction of herself.

Makena was younger than he was, and she was right. She was much too young to watch her babies grow up and leave her for the pirate crews. He was certain he wasn't the only one to wonder about the details behind her small litter, but none cared enough to ask. Mates weren't really a common thing here. He reached out with a paw and lightly rested it on hers.

"They'll never be too far. And I'm sure they'll bring back gifts for you and they'll be in our paws, so you've nothing to worry about."

Makena'Lesedi:
She smiled, nodding with a playful look in her eyes. She hadnt really shown any of the pirates any real interest.. Not really. She had been left with cubs
from her rogue companion that had taken off at the first chance he could. She felt like she was worthless, though she covered it well by doing what was asked of her.
She walked closer, putting very little distance between them. She wanted to feel his body heat. She was only female after all and it had been.. so long since any
had treated her with any concern.

"I suppose I could stay and keep you company if you like, unless youd prefer I go get a meal for you. I could do either," She said, though deep inside she hoped he
asked her to stay. She could feel temptation sink in and she shook it off with a snort. No, she wouldnt make a fool out of herself. Apparently she was indeed young in mind
as well.

"Thank you, though. Your words are kind, and its nice to have someone say them." She said. She knew them to be true before he said it, but she hoped others saw it as well.

Nemeios:
He smiled, watching as she scooted eagerly closer. He finally sat up and rubbed his cheek against the fur near her ear. He pulled back again and nodded.

"You're welcome to stay. I'm not hungry at the moment," Nemeios replied. He probably shouldn't be encouraging her like that. She was nice, pretty, and did her job well, but that didn't mean he should... Yeah, he wasn't fooling anyone. Nemeios could be a real snake sometimes, he had no problems trading affections with her if she wanted to.

"I guess that just means I'm the smartest in the bunch," he added, touching the back of his paw to the bottom of her chin. "Honey being more affective than sea-water and all that."

Makena'Lesedi:
She purred when he moved closer to her and smiled. True she was one to wear her heart on her sleeve. Shed been used to being pampered by father and now she was receiving affections for a pirate. She didnt think many loved though.. She hoped maybe one day.. She could be someones favorite company. With a grin she nodded. "So far you are. What a specimen." she mused with a wink of her eye. She was all for trading affections... Hopefully one day a male wouldnt be able to turn her away after a night.

Nemeios:
Nemeios laughed a bit, puffing slightly with his arrogance. He was something of a fool that way, there was no getting around his major fault. He was arrogant, believed that he and his family were best in one form or another. He knew he wasn't the strongest, but he certainly felt he was more clever than anyone else he would encounter.

"Hmm, Makena, are you always this charming, or is it just for me?" he asked, wiggling his toes playfully beneath her chin.

Makena'Lesedi:
She smiled and giggled. She had a good personality, that was true. She had the soft temper of her mother. Which was a good thing because father could have quite the temper.
She purred, and pulled away with a giggle when he tickled under her chin. She squealed and batted at him playfully, though gently.
"You will just have to find out, my friend." She said with a nod, though it was in a playful tone. She nipped his leg and winked at him.

"Maybe its just for you."

Nemeios:
Nemeios pawed back when she nipped at him. She really was a playful one, he hadn't really noticed it before. Perhaps next time he went out he would being something back for her to wear. Sure, the loot was for everyone, but he could take a hit in his share in order to take something specific, no harm in that. Would it make her smile?

"And what would I have to do to find out, hmm? Follow you around, see how you act with the other captains, the other mates, the crew members? I'm far too lazy for that, luv," he replied, his playful smile taking on a more cunning look as his eyes narrowed slightly. What could he do, just what could he do to figure her out, he wondered.

Makena'Lesedi:
"No silly, youd just have to get to know me. You'd find out easy enough. Do you have the patience enough for at least that?" She asked with a purr, stepping towards him and rubbing him the way a cat
would rub itself against its humans leg. Her back arched right under his chin, and as she walked on, her tail slid under his chin, the tuft flicking against his cheek. She looked back at him with a wink.
She had never had anyone to bring her things before, so if she ahd known what he was thinking, she likely would have tackled him with excitement. Hardly fitting a lady, or corsair, but it was fitting for a
young lioness who was ready for excitement.

"Do you have what it takes to learn who I am, Nemeios?" She teased.

Nemeios:
Nemeios' eyes slid shut as she slid herself beneath his chin, giving him a great nose-full of her scent. Damn, but she certainly knew how to take his mind off of things. He didn't have much interaction time with the corsairs, he would certainly have to change that. Perhaps a little bit of time with the other ladies... Ah, but Makena would certainly have him coming back to her. He really did want to know more about her, learn her stories, figure her out.

He let a little growl rumble in the back of his throat and he nipped at her tail. He stood and walked to her side, nuzzling her ear a bit with his nose.
"I've never fallen to a challenge, I'm sure you'll find me more than an adequate observer." His words were hushed in her ear and he smiled while he spoke them.

Makena'Lesedi:
When he nipped at her tail, she shuddered, and if she could get goosebumps she would have had them right then. She let him stand at her side, and when he began whispering in her ear,
she too smiled. It ticked the fur around her ear, and she almost shuddered once more. Her blood was pumping, but she wasnt sure if he would see her as useless if she gave in to her desires
right then. She now was nervous, but he was like any pirate.. An attractive male who could make any lioness weak in the knees.

"I think I shall like to see if thats true. You will have to show me, my dear." She tried not to let her voice waver. She surely wasnt a sex kitten, but she had her charming side and now that
she was somewhat flustered, she had to keep from stuttering her words.

Nemeios:
The change in her hadn't slipped past Nemeios' attention and he smiled for it. Maybe it was all for him. Much as it was the corsairs who were supposed to be lucky enough to become a pirate's favorite, he wondered if they had their favorites too. She would bring food to the other pirates, just like all the other corsairs, but would she be particularly nice to one she liked, come to him first, things like that. Something in his mind said that he should try and see if he could manage that. Two challenges in one.

"Oh, the things I could show you, luv." His eyes narrowed slightly, changing the mood in his smile. Let's see how she handles that one, he thought. "Perhaps you'll see a few."

Makena'Lesedi:
She perked when he said that he could show her things. What kind of things? The curiosity in her itched within her blood. She purred and nodded, excitement in her
eyes. She wasnt sure if she would feel seductive, or like an excited child. She rubbed against him again, but this time to smell his scent and commit it to memory.
She knew, oh she knew that she would favor him. He'd have all the best pieces of food from her, the most affection, the brighter smile. She would give it to him..maybe..
If he turned out to be what he seemed.

"Oh, do show me those things! Please?" She asked, almost begging.

Nemeios:
The almost smirk turned into a full-blown grin as he raised his head a bit so that it lifted higher than hers and gave him a more regal appearance.

"Well, Makena, luv, you will just have to spend some time around me and find out, now won't you?" he asked, more or less turning her own words on her as he gave her a wink and started padding away, his clever mind working faster than the wind in a tempest. Things to get for her, things he could do to make her happy, things he would do to anyone who disrespected her... Unless it was his brother. He'd have to talk with Kook about this. Kook wouldn't cause any problems, he believed in his brother.

Makena'Lesedi:
She felt up to the challenge, and giggled. Yes, she would stick around to learn of him. He would be her favored pirate, and maybe in turn she would be his favorite Corsair. She nodded, nudging him with her head, looking up at him with gleaming eyes that sparkled like rubies that they sometimes found on their travels.

"Hey! Dont leave me here.. I want to hear your stories!" She said, and took off after him, catching up quickly enough and smiling once she did. This was the start of alot of fun, and at least maybe a friendship. She could live with that.
