Nemeios:
Regardless of pride hierarchy, Captain Nemeios felt there was nothing wrong with doing a bit of his own hunting every once in a while. And by hunting, he meant fishing, wading in the cool waters in search of the illusive creatures there. Scales were a pain, but not as bad as feathers and he quite enjoyed the taste of a fish every now and then.

He'd left his leg-band and bone necklace in his den and pulled the feather out of his headband so that it wouldn't get ruined in the water. He'd have to get someone to put it back in, of course, but he was sure one of the corsairs would be up to the challenge. Like Makena. Ah, yes, she would probably do anything he asked her, and if she didn't, well then that meant he just had to try a little harder.

Ah, there was one. Like a cobra's strike, his head darted into the water and then came up with a wriggling fish in his jaws, his mane dripping around his face.

Makena'Lesedi:
Pirato had given her the afternoon off, and she was quite happy for it. Her muscles were tired, as the crew were loud and boisterous in their celebratory fashion. They had finished a raid, and that could celebration could go on for weeks sometimes. Or until all the fruit had gone. And rest, hadnt been in her vocabulary lately. But now, she had the mind for a swim. Nothing too deep, but just enough to get her legs wet, release some tension, and get herself ready for a bask in the sunshine.

A yawn escaped her maw, before she looked up to see the green figure in the water himself. She smiled, knowing instantly who it was. His snake marking along his pelt giving him away if the green did not. He looked to be fishing, and so she approached slowly, and quietly. She was thankful for the sand, and how it didnt alert the fish to her presence the way branches could alert the gazelle.

Nemeios:
Nemeios turned to head back to the shore with his catch and his green eyes narrowed as they caught a familiar lioness watching him. He shook a bit of the water from his mane and approached Makena, rubbing his shoulder against hers as he past her, not stopping until he reached the shore where he could sit down and eat his snack. He set the fish down and crushed it beneath one paw until it stopped moving. He then put his claws to work stripping the scales away.

Every so often, he'd glance up to Makena. She looked tired. There weren't too many corsairs to take care of them, the rest of the crew must be running her ragged. It gave him an idea, but after she finished whatever it was she was doing in the water.

Makena'Lesedi:
She felt the softness of her fur, and smiled. He was a hunter to boot. Strong, and powerful. No wonder he was a captain. He had deserved the role. He had been with Pirato almost since the very beginning. But she bowed her head in greeting, and continued to the waves that crashed onto the shore. Stepping into the slightly cooler water, she took a deep breath and smiled. She walked deeper in, until she was about midleg, and let the waves crash into her chest. She stood there for a little while, letting the water just let her relax. Once she opened her eyes, she turned, and headed back to the shore, and back to Nemeios. Her golden pelt was matted with water, and she shook it off, fur standing on end. It soothed back on its own, and she smiled.

"Good afternoon, Captain." She said, with a bow of her head.

Nemeios:
Nemeios had stripped almost all of the scales from the fish and had clawed off bits of meat. He had laid down, settled himself in a relaxed position to watch her in the water, but he stood when she approached him. She was soaking wet, but then he was too.
He'd rather enjoyed watching her in the water even if she had just been standing there. Something about the waves washing over her, he rather liked the contrast of blue waves and her golden fur.

"Makena, luv, come here and settle down," he replied, nodding to the space beside him. It was a command, but a soft one, a small smile on his maw.

Makena'Lesedi:
She watched him stand, and before she could even pause, he told her to sit, and she moved in a fluid motion. Her body swaying. She laid down beside him, preferring that over sitting just this moment.
She was tired, and her muscles were still rather tired. But she held herself well, trying to hide the tired from her body language. Her heart pounded wildly in her chest, and she couldnt do anything but smile.

"Captain, how are you this evening?" She asked, flicking her tail against him in a completely 'innocent' manner. Her red eyes looked him over, and she couldnt help but admire the bright green of his pelt.
It was such a striking color that it just forced her to watch it with interest.

Nemeios:
Nemeios stroked her cheek with the back of his paw and moved a bit so that he could place it on her back between her shoulder-blades, pressing down a bit and then moving his paw, trying to work out some of the tension he felt there. It worked well enough when his paws were sore, he figured it might help her a bit.

"I'm well. You look tired, pet. Have we been working you and the other ladies too hard?" he asked softly, leaning down to give her ear a little nuzzle. His paw continued to work on her back as he used the other three to support his weight rather than leaning on her.

"You can have some of the fish if you want."

Makena'Lesedi:
She relaxed into his paw, feeling some of the tension sort of ease away. Sure it didnt take it all away but what it did take made everything sort of feel better. She began purring and rather loudly, her tail twitching with pleasure.
"That feels really good.." She said softly, and then when he began nuzzling her ear she smiled, and a blush stole onto her cheeks.
She shook her head, and looked at him when he spoke.
"Oh no! Im sorry if it looks like that. Im just a bit tired is all. The festivities are quite numerous this go around." She said, nodding her head, her head tuft bobbing.

She eyed the fish, and felt her stomach gurgle. She wasnt one to turn down food, if she was she certainly wouldnt belong here. She perked a little.
"Are you sure?"

Nemeios:
"Positive," Nemeios replied, moving his paw down her back, still rubbing and kneading. Despite everything she said, he didn't quite believe her. She was tired. They needed more corsairs in the pride, that was for sure. Not for him, of course, but there was a significant imbalance between the sexes and it was quite a disappointment. Perhaps on the next raid they could focus a bit on that.

"I'm sure you and the other ladies could use a bit more help. Perhaps next time we ship out we can keep an eye out for more corsairs. What do you think of that?" Really, he didn't need to be sharing his thoughts with her. She wasn't Pirato, she wasn't even the head corsair. But he liked her, wanted to help her. She had cubs to take care of on top of all the crew. It annoyed him a bit to see her worked too hard.

Makena'Lesedi:
She had lied, she was exhausted. But no one would ever catch her complaining. At least not to crew. She just didnt feel it was appropriate.
They had to work hard, she should be no different. Makena wasnt a weak female who wimpered at the sight of work. If anything it gave her direction, something to do!
Though she wouldnt turn down more help, nor would she turn down the chance to make friends. It was hard to make friends here, though she knew this pride was pretty lax as far as prides went. She was allowed to go and do what she pleased, so long as she took care of her duties first. But it was the same for the males. THey had duties to perform too, they just werent usually of the housecare variety.
"I think youre very considerate to think of me." She said with a smile, a purr leaving her throat as he continued kneading between her shoulders and back.

Nemeios:
"I can be very considerate when I feel like it. Usually I'm a self-centered b*****d," Nemeios replied with a chuckle and a smirk. It sounded like he was teasing, but he was really telling the truth. His world revolved around himself, everything he did was to benefit himself in the short or the long run. Sure, he cared about his family, but if he considered it, if it came down to one of them or himself, it would probably be himself.

Now, he didn't really have a purpose for being nice to Makena. Then again, by being nice to her, she was sweet and saucy to him, which he enjoyed, so maybe he was doing this for his own ends.
"Do you feel better, pet?" he asked, his paw lighting up a bit on her back.

Makena'Lesedi:
She nodded, a purr escaping her throat. For some reason she always found herself thinking dirty little thoughts when she was around Nemeios. He just brought that out of her. She stretched out her legs, her front paws extending as her claws unsheathed. Her pink tongue curled from her maw in a yawn.
Once she was stretched out and comfortable, she sat back down, flicking her hair tuft from her eyes.

"I do, thank you.. You have such a.. nice touch." SHe said, allowing him to take it however he liked. Though her voice was sultry.

Nemeios:
Nemeios smiled and gave her ear a little nuzzle. He then flopped down beside her.
"Good, good. I would hate for you to be uncomfortable at all," he replied, watching her. Oh, she was flirting with him, he didn't miss that. From what he saw, she didn't seem to do that with any of the other males. She was mostly just friendly. Did that mean he was special? His ego swelled a bit at the thought that he might be a corsair's favorite.

"I think we'll be shipping out again soon." It was an off-handed comment, but he kept his gaze on her, judging her reaction.

Makena'Lesedi:
She gulped, trying hard to not let it bother her. But she failed. Her eyes looked a bit sad, and she sighed, though she tried to smile.
"Oh? Well... I shall hope you have a safe trip. I.. Hope you return to give me a few more of those backrubs." She said, and this time gave a chuckle. She knew it was in the nature of the pride to go on the missions, and to be honest that didnt bother her. But he was her only friend..
Or at least the only one she had wanted to be close too, really.

"Would you think of me?.. I mean.. When you leave?"She asked hesitantly.

Nemeios:
He smiled at her.
"Of course I will think of you," Nemeios replied with a small chuckle and he leaned towards her, brushing his cheek against hers. He most certainly would think of her, looking for something to bring back for her to remember him by when he went out, something to show the rest of the pride just who it was she favored, if she took it.

"And you? Will you think of me?" he asked though he really thought that she would. Whether it was ego or... Well, it was probably ego.

Makena'Lesedi:
She smiled, her face brightening like a flower once he said he would think of her. She felt almost like a adolescent again. It was thrilling. She blushed, and batted her eyelashes slightly. When he rubbed against her, she pushed her head under his chin, snuggling into him. She knew that she would likely end up sharing him. Pirates did what they wanted after all! But she knew that she would be his favorite. She could feel it!

"Yes. A million times yes. You will be thought of in the fondest of ways. I promise." She grinned and winked, flicking her tail against his rump.
