I can watch either, but i prefer subbed because they don't always dub it right... I can't remember what anime it was but i watched both versions and there were a few times that the dubbing was completely different.

But if I'm watching it on T.V I prefer dubbed. When I'm watching it on the computer I can pause or rewind when I didn't read the subs quick enough but I get total lost if it's on the telly ^^; Icrat in that case I like subbed better. They usually have really annoying voices in dubbed versions =/

dubbed animes have a different feeling compared to subbed ones.. it's easy for me to read anyway.

I'd say subbed...Anime is Japanese and that's how it's supposed to stay...and besides I'm learning Japanese...dub doesn't help there

I have to say subbed too. The English voices never fit the characters well, I like the sound of Japanese, and I like it when I can learn words from just watching anime (cat, hello, swear words, etc.) Plus, I have learned some basic Japanese, so I get digusted when I hear the way English people pronounce Japanese names... Heck, I've gotten so used to subs, that when I watch a movie that has subs, whether I need them or not, I read them! I much prefer subbed!

It depends both on the anime, and the the vocal cast --- there are actors I adore, those I can tolerate, and many I can't stand. I love listening to the japanese because it seems more naturally and less awkward, but I don't always like to have to read the subtitles [unfortunately I can't speak nor understand fluent japanese] so I usually prefer the dub if I just want to listen to the anime while I draw or do some other thing that requires half my attention.
But to this day, I believe that Full Metal Alchemist can and should be only watched in the english dub. Vic Mignogna has such an endless reach of vocal talent, emotionally rich, and a deep sensitivity that I believe did wonders to bring the character of Edward Elric to life. Its no wonder he got an award for hi acting --- it was stunning; anyone who has seen it would probably agree.

I don't care what anyone else says, I watch my anime dubbed. I do watch Naruto and Bleach in Japanese, but that's only because the episodes aren't in English yet.
Everyone loves subbed better because they think the voice actors do a better job. I mean, you don't really know that for sure. You don't speak Japanese. You don't know how well they're doing their lines. They could suck for all you know, "but that fancy foreign language just sounds so intriguing!" I'm just here to defend my American voice actors! cool
Besides, when you've got voices like Vic Mignogna, Crispin Freeman, Yuri Lowenthal, Liam O'Brien, Sam Riegel, and Johnny Yong Bosch to listen to, who needs to read subtitles?!?!?! heart

You're totally right. I agree with you 100%! Everything you said about Vic Mignogna is totally true. Not only him though, the entire cast was brilliant!

I like my anime subbed mostly, however some anime have characters that talk so damn fast that i need audio to keep up. If i only knew Japanese lol smile

I just love watching anime, I usually watch it subbed just because it is more true to its original form that way. I would hope that when the native Japanese speakers watch American sitcoms that they watch them in English with Japanese subtitles biggrin
