"Oh, I see. I'm sorry about assuming that you didn't have any friends." She said softly as they approached the lake. Once there, she trotted to the edge of the water and gazed into her reflection for a moment or so. Nickering softly, she looked back to him. "So... is whatever you're looking for here?"

Walking towards her, he sighed. The feeling was pushing him this way. Stopping beside her, he also gazed down into the water; the ripples the wind kept making hit the shore, contorting his reflection. He turned to look at her, answering her question. “I don’t know.” He sighed, then said softly, “Maybe I should just stop searching.”

She continued to look into the water, seeing a silohette of a small fish or two flit about. Bringing her hoof out, she pressed it over the surface of the water before bringing it back under her, watching the ripples spread out further and further. When he stepped beside her, she looked up and frowned at his response. "I'm sorry to hear that it's not here, but it's no reason to just stop. I mean, if you do, you'll never find it and never know what it was that you were looking for."

“Well, if I knew what it was, I would be able to find whatever it is!” He huffed, feeling frustrated. Why was he even searching for something? Really though, there probably wasn’t anything to search for. He was trying to decide if he wanted to where his clothes into the water or not. Shaking his head, he looked over to her and said, “I am going to go cool off.” Stepping into the water and by doing so, getting his coat wet, he waded into the deeper part of the lake, his coat floating around him, making the water red.

She frowned ever so slightly at that thought. "Yeah, I guess that's true." She admitted with a small sigh. She wished she could help, but little good that would do if she didn't even know what it was he was looking for. When he told her that he was going to cool off, she nodded and watched him enter the water. She was curious as to why he kept his garments on though. "Wouldn't that feel awkward when you got out?"

“Yeah, it would. But I figure that since I have so much time to waste, I will spend it out in the sun relaxing. Even if there is another motive for it.” He ducked his head and swam out a little farther, making a small splash as his head broke through the surface. He shook his bangs free of water, and his braid hit both of his shoulders. He looked at the lake, watching the blue water around him. What could I possibly be looking for? Shaking his head, he turned around and slowly began to make his way back to the shore.

She couldn't help but be curious when he mentioned another motive. Would it be okay to ask what he meant after all the questions she had asked earlier? She really hated being a bother and she had already gotten off on the wrong hoof earlier with him. With a small sigh, she decided against it and nodded to him. "Ah, okay then." With that, she brought her head down to the water and took a sip at it.

She looked bothered by something. Crap, he was being incredibly nice. What was wrong with him? Usually he would be being sarcastic and probably quite rude by now. And instead he was being nice and quiet. QUIET! Something is wrong with me. He swam until he could feel the rocks under his hooves, letting him continue his journey to shore walking. Sighing, he looked at her, “Is something wrong?” he asked.

After getting her fill of the cool and refreshing water, she lifted her head back up and tossed her mane. She looked out over the lake for the moment, before looking back to him, walking back to shore. At his question, she lifted her brows as if saying 'Hmm?', but promptly shook her head. "Oh, no... nothing's wrong. Why?"

“Usually you would be asking questions. You’ve been quite for a long time.” He had finally reached the shore, and he shook his body, making his coat sprinkle water everywhere. He stood there looking out at the lake, the breeze was non-existent, and out of the corner of his eye he watched her to see if she was going to say anything.

Charlamagne blinked, the looked down, pawing the ground embarrassedly. "... Well, I just figured you got annoyed by my questions... so I stopped." She explained, tracing a random shape in the dirt with a hoof.

“I don’t care if you ask questions. It’s a free world; you can do whatever you want.” Ed shrugged and a smirk on his face. “So say whatever you want.” If he didn’t want to answer a question, he would probably say something anyways. She shouldn’t be embarrassed because of curiosity.

She knew it was a free world, but she liked doing anything in her power not to annoy or upset others. Her eyes remained fixed on her hoof for a bit longer before looking back up to him. "Well... if you really don't mind... what do you mean by another motive?"

Ed tilted his head to the side, showing his confusion. “What do you mean?” He thought back to there previous conversation, but was having trouble remembering a few details.

Charl gave him a look, almost as if wondering how he could forget what he said so quickly. She just shook her head and reminded him. "You mentioned something about another motive for something and I was curious of what you meant by it."
