PROMPT - THE NEWS BROADCAST ((The following is a news broadcast. You can choose to ignore this or happen to see it. The broadcasting started at 6 PM on CNN with vague stories. The actual statement, what will be shown below, starts at ten PM.))
The newsreader looked into the camera. "Alright ladies and gentlemen, we've been reporting to you for the past four hours now about the triple murder in the center of Metropolis. There was a Villain concerned, Solarduct who murdered three children. One of the children was believed to be a Super. We now go live to Maria Beckingtail, who's at the spot."
He turned to the side, to a screen appearing "Maria, what is the updated sitation?"
"Well Bill, only five minutes ago, a government agent has given a press statement which we will show you now."
The image flicked to show Charles standing in front of the crowd. He raised his hand and everything became silent. He cleared his throat.
"Ladies and gentlemen. Today, at september 23rd, 5 PM a terrible tragedy occured here in Metropolis.
The Villain Solarduct has attacked the First Kidz play area and murdered three children. These children were eleven years old."
He paused as the muttering started and raised his hand again. "The guardian of one of the children was murdered by Solarduct too, at approximately 4 PM today too. I will take a few questions now."
Charles pointed at someone off screen and the voice of Maria could be heard. "Thank you sir." she cleared her throat, "Several witnesses that have been released have testified that the boy that was attacked was a Super, that he tried to defend himself by shooting something at Solarduct, but that it was too weak. Is this true?"
Charles nodded. "Yes, that is correct. The child was following a training course with the government. His powers were not yet developed enough to take on Solarduct so it was to no avail."
Charles pointed to someone else off the screen. "So does that mean that the government, or the NSA, I suppose, is currently training more children to be Supers one day?"
Charles shook his head "I am not allowed to comment on anything regarding work with the government. Next question please."
Maria called out again "So what's the government going to do next? Are they going to apprehend Solarduct and bring him to justice? Are you not afraid for a thing like Neuron City to be happening again?"
There was a very slight twitch of Charles' eyebrow. "We have been trying for quite some time now to apprehend Solarduct, but this is not easy. The current Supers that are in commission are overworked and have been in several confrontations with Solarduct, but have not yet won. We are working on this matter, but I'm afraid to say there's no promise or guarantee we can make for the future. We feel we have set up a suffice defense to prevent Neuron City from ever happening agan. Thank you. No further questions."
The image changed back to Maria. "There you have it Bill. The government is training children to become the next Supers, but Solarduct is hunting them all down! The government agent wouldn't comment on anything else, but it is suspected that there are more of these children. Perhaps they are living among us, they could be your neighbour! What I would feel necessairy to point out, is that, if you disover your neighbour to be a Super, do NOT reveal this to anyone else. They are the heroes of the future, and when they are all murdered, what hope will there be for us? This was Maria Beckingtail for CNN, live at the crimescene."
The image faded out, and Bill got full view again. He was silent. "Well, that's... surprising. All information can be found on our site, which is updated hourly. We wil be right back after these commercial breaks. I am Bill Notnil. Goodnight."

Reactions:
"MISS ARIYA! MISS ARIYA!" Megan started screaming from downstairs, and AriyaLauna flew down. This was a different type of scream than usual.
"Wha--"
"Sshhh, listen..."
AriyaLauna hadn't bought a television. As a matter of fact, she refused to own one, but Megan took instead to listening to the radio when Ariya wasn't guarding it. Although it was impossible to see what was going on, much of the very same news passed over the radio.
Guardian and child were frozen as they listened to the end of the newsbroadcast. Then AriyaLauna suddenly sat down hard on the floor. She didn't out-right cry, but she bowed her head and large tears dropped.
Megan stared at AriyaLauna. No one cried unless they were a baby. What was wrong with this lady? Megan's fists balled up in anger, "Everyone hates me."
"Shh, no, that's not true. Why do you think people are trying to help you?"
"But you're gonna leave me. You hate me. S'jus'something you gotta do for a little while."
AriyaLauna looked up, and then made her decision, "No. No, I'm not ever going to leave you. Not if I can help it."
"That's not true! And now people wanna kill me!" Megan screamed again, "And YOU cry! Baby!"
"No, Megan---"
But Megan had turned around and ran off, once again locking herself in the bathroom. Stupid people... Stupid adults... stupid... No. Only babies cried. She wouldn't be sad. She'd just be angry. It wasn't her fault. It was theirs. They hated, and there was no reason for it.

*** Power Training ***
Note to self: O.o Make a connection post or something between this one and the last one.
IC: "MEGGY!"
"MEGAN!"
"MEGAN!"
"YES?"
AriyaLauna trotted outside, "There you are! We need to try something."
Megan gave AriyaLauna a suspicious look. She just looked overly excited and sneaky, "What?"
"We're going to do some power training!"
"Huh?"
"For you abilities...."
"I don't got none."
"Sure you do. You don't want to make a mistake and not have control over them, do you? And we have a training ground for that, and supposedly it'll allow you to practice, and I can help you."
"Liar."
"Always," AriyaLauna grinned and turned around. She was beginning to read Megan's intonations, and simply ignored what she said now. And usually she was right. Today she was. Megan got up and followed after AriyaLauna.
They were downstairs in a little bit. And it took forever for them to get started, AriyaLauna playing with controls, and explaining to Megan what the manuel had said, and even having Megan read back some things to her as she got more and more confused. After awhile they simply came to the conclusion that Megan needed to go try, and AriyaLauna would play with controls while Megan saw if she could mimic things or not. Megan flopped the papers down, and ran out.
"Meggy! You're doing it!" AriyaLauna yelled finally, happily, "See?" She had managed to create a pinpoint of fire at Megan's suggestion, as that had been what she'd made before, and Megan's fingertips were now wavering with a firey tint, "Finally! See if you can project that or something, off of yourself..." the fact that the fire was ON Megan automatically made AriyaLauna worried, though it wasn't hurting the child at all.
And Megan tried, she put up her hand, trying to make the fire grow. But then it died. And the electricity died. It had lasted maybe twenty seconds.
"Miss Ara?"
"Huh.." AriyaLauna picked up the manuel. It had been covering a caution light, now blinking overload on it. She blinked at it. What had that meant? She didn't know.
But someone did, somewhere, and someone somewhere was calling up people. It had taken a LOT of power, and although the area had been small, the concentration of energy had been huge. It had shut itself off before it began to create problems, but much longer, and much more and there would have been power surges, even with Agency hook-ups.
"Well--uh... Let's just go upstairs until the power comes back on."
"Awh MAN...."
"Sorry chickadee."
"Chickadee... Did you SEE me?"
"Yes, yes!"
Megan giggled, "I can't wait for the power to come back on!"
((OOC: I figured that Megan CAN, but it'll take an outrageous amount of energy output before she could... In the end, she'd definitely be able to control solar energy IF she was close enough to the sun to do so (if she ever gets to do so on the Earth, it'll be yyeeeeeaaarrs and LOTS obsessive-like training) she could, but I'm thinking most of the earth-related would be if she was near place with a large amount of electrical output or possible nuclear energy. Things that would simply take a ton of energy (and I'm not versed in it, so I wouldn't know how to explain), but at the same time I doubt she'll ever really be able to control electricity or nuclear energy simply because she'll very likely never have the chance to try, which means she'll never be able to help if a nuclear-attack occured or some-such thing, unless she ran into a Super who created nuclear-type things. And, yes, this has other implications... but nothing that will matter to her unless she gets interested in science, which I highly doubt. So she'll never realize the full-potential of this, and therefore I'll never RP it.... Mostly because I wouldn't understand it well enough to realistically RP it. ^-^ All those implications are on a micro-level anyway, so... bah... Gets into atoms and molecules and elements and the like... ))

Training Follow-up: Charles sat behind his desk once more. It was as messy as ever and there were probably more files and paperwork to do than ever. It was quite amazing how a man in Charles' position was sitting behind his desk so often.
Distractedly, he scratched himself behind the ear with a pencil when the phone rang. Disturbed he looked up and reached for the horn. "Charles." His voice sounded just like he felt. Deadtired. He really hadn't had a good night sleep since the Jayden accident. Just thinking about it made him depressed. He was quickly shook out of his memories when he heard the voice on the other side of the phone.
"Charles, I'm sorrty to disturb you, but it's Jim." Jim was frowning as he looked over a few papers and was absentmindedly listening to someone saying something to him.
Charles sat up straight immediatly. "What happened?" Oh God. Not something else. He really couldn't handle it right now.
Jim seemed to have sensed his unease. "No, no, Charles, don't worry, it's nothing too serious, but I've just received a chart from Megan's house. It would seem that they shut off the power in the entire area just by using the simulation machine." He scratched his head, slightly shocked by it.
Charles now frowned. "Shut off all the power? How did that happen? We put in plenty of extra lines, securing the main powerlines, right?"
Jim shrugged "The girl's power is the mimicry of other powers. According to several of my researchers, the power that would have to be generated by the machine to giver her the feeling of a real, actual Villain, would be... well, nearly impossible to reach over the normal energy channels." He scratched his chin. "The power of that girl is something to worry about. How can that be trained?"
"Hmm," Charles rubbed his chin. "Impossible to generate, eh?" He thought for a moment before a lightbulb went off in his head and he grinned. "Well then, why don't we just arrange a real one-on-one training session with a real Super?" He now chuckled, "I'm sure Flashcharge would absolutely adore a chance to make an impression on a vulnerable, little girl." He was now grinning broadly when thinking about it, imagineing the face of him while he discovered what Megan was really like.
He coughed "I"ll arrange a training session with Flashcharge, then. Thanks for notifying me, Jim."
Jim smiled "No problem Charles. Oh Charles, just try and get some sleep. You sound dead tired man." The poor guy wouldn't give himself any rest, nor would he accept the fact he wasn't too blame. He sighed, his voice quite serious now. "You can't keep on going forever."
Charles sobered up too. "I know Jim... Thanks." He hung up and sat in silence for a moment, lost in thought. Then he dialed a new number and waited for the receiver to pick up the phone. "Thomas! Hey, would you be interested in a special training session?"
--
The messenger strolled up to the door and knocked politely. Awaiting patiently, he waited until the door opened before delivering his message.
He gave a nod, and turned around where he jumped into his car.
Contents of the letterQuote: Dear Megan and Ariya, It has come to your attention that Megan is having problems in regards to her power training. This is why we have arranged a special training session for her. A car will pick you up tomorrow morning at 9 AM to take you to the Safe Haven, a place especially designed for young Supers to be trained. Sincerely, Charles

Onto the Safe Haven, Training: "Hmm, Megan!" AriyaLauna called cheerfully even for Megan. She was getting to expect, if she wasn't used, to these cryptic messages, "Guess what?" "I got a visitor?" Megan peered in, looking so hopeful that AriyaLauna's heart dropped. "Well, no. Not... not exactly. But I did get a message saying that we can continue your training. Except we've got to do it somewhere else." "You ain't good enough?" AriyaLauna grounded herself. Why did Megan always take the negative path? "The computers aren't good enough. They can't put anymore power into those things, so we're going to have to go where they can." "So we can't do it whenever?" "No, I'm afraid not." "I need lots of power, huh?" Megan bounced up and took the letter that AriyaLauna held, reading over it even over her guardians protests about how impolite that'd been, "Niiiine....You'll make me get up even earlier!" "Uh-huh. Yes, awh, I know. I'm so mean and evil." AriyaLauna snatched the paper back from Megan. "Better watch out, 'cause I'll get better 'n' THEN..." "Megan Neithers! No! I will NOT have that sort of talk around here..." "Why? Huh? You scared? Scared that..." And, again, the arguments. Sometimes AriyaLauna depaired ever teaching anything to the child. Why did she have to challenge EVERYTHING? ----- Tomorrow morning, Megan was up at seven, a morning Bible study given, and.... Well... At 9:15 AriyaLauna was carrying Megan out to the car, with the girl's shoes and breakfast in one hand, and Megan screaming the entire way. "Shoes ON, and THEN you can eat..." "But..." "NO!" At least once they were in the confines of the vehicle, Megan had no where to run and the cold shoulder AriyaLauna suddenly gave her bored her quick enough to put those shoes on and eat what she could, all the while (since AriyaLauna was steadfastly not looking), looking somewhat eagerly out the window. The driver was glad they had finally arrived at their destination. The girl had been making a fuss and had been annoying the entire time. The only reason he had refrained of yelling 'shut up' to her, was that she was a potential Super and probably had the power to zap him or something. How the guardian could stand the child was unfathomable for him, but what the hell, not his problem. He held back a sigh as he turned back to the guardian and the child to give a few last minute instructions. "You'll need to walk to that building over there and ring the doorbeel three short times. The door'll automatically open. In there you need to punch in a ten-digit code." He handed her a scrap of paper that had the code neatly written upon it. '787377 7853'. "Then you'll just need to step onto the red platform where you'll be teleported to Safe Haven." He nodded. If you type in the wrong accesscode, you'll end up in a vulcano or something, this to prevent Villain attacks and such." He shrugged and pressed a button which caused the door to open. "Good luck m'am." He waited for the two of them to climb out of the car and sped off. Safe Haven Desc: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=992382

Are we THERE yet? Training:
"COOL!" was Megan's very loud exclamation as she jumped out of the car and ran over toward the building.
"Thank----" it was all AriyaLauna got out to address the driver before she was running after Megan, "MEGAN! NO! Megan!"
"Can we go to a volcano? Can we? Can we?"
"I'm sure someone will be MORE than happy to oblige once they get to know you," AriyaLauna spoke with a crooked smile, but the insult was completely missed by Megan.
"That would be so cool! What if it blew up?"
"Wouldn't be cool, anyway... Kind of hot..." AriyaLauna had run the doorbell and was now ushering Megan in, speaking absent-mindedly as she looked at the paper, mentally counting 3 and 3 and 4 numbers. That made 10, right? Right...
Megan scrunched up her face and, spotted the red platform. She bounced onto that and was jumping up and down while AriyaLauna punched in numbers, "What's it like to be telephon---ported? I never gotta do this!"
"I don't know," AriyaLauna answered as she got up with Megan, "We'll see now, won't we?" Just before they were off, AriyaLauna managed to get a hold on Megan.
Which, really, was probably a good thing, "COOL!... Hey, l'go!"
"Nope, we're not going anywhere until we know what to do now." AriyaLauna did step off a few steps. She really hadn't a clue from here, and the last thing she wanted to do was upset someone by getting them both in trouble.
Megan leaned forward from AriyaLauna grasp, using her weight to practically pull her guardian over, until AriyaLauna readjusted herself and was holding Megan by her waist instead, "Let GOOOoooo..."
"Y'know," AriyaLauna spoke loud and kept her voice ironically cheerful. Although she hadn't had a chance to really look around and spot anyone, she figured someone was listening in somewhere, "I haven't had time for exersize with you, but somehow I'm more fit than I was."
"What?" once again, the shot was over Megan's head.
The door opened and Charles entered. He seemed very tired, there were bags under his eyes and his eyes looked dull. Quite remarkably, he wasn't wearing his shades. As he addressed the two, he smiled. "Good morning you two. I hope your journey was alright, the drive as well as the teleporter?" He grinned and bent slightly down to Megan's level. "Well now, Megan. Are you ready for some serious action?" He winked at her before rising and nodding at Ariya.
"Just follow me please." He motioned them through the door into a long hallway. They followed it until they reached a large open courtyard. It was mostly covered in grass, flowers and trees. There seemed to be a pond in the middle. It was more of a small paradise than anything else, but Charles ignored it and moved to an opening in the right wall. Going through another corridor, they ended up in a smaller courtyard, layered with tiles. Again, Charles entered a door, this time on the left and led the twosome into a very large hall.
It was obviously a training hall as it had the appearance of a PE hall. The walls were covered in sails, probably hiding the equipment. At the rightside of the hall, an obstacle course was laid out and a man was lazily leaning against one of the devices and raised a hand in greeting.
As Charles and his two charges approached, he lazily stood up and moved his way to the three. He gave a nod to the two adults before crouching down on Megan's eyelevel. "Hey there little one, can you keep a secret for me?" He smiled mischieviously at the little girl and gave her a wink, patiently awaiting the answer.

Meeting the Trainer and Beginning:
"Only if I getta play in the yard!" was Megan's loud declaration, with a side look to AriyaLauna. Maybe HE'D let her....
AriyaLauna let go of Megan shirt with a sigh, and leaned back a little herself.
At this the man threw his head back and let out a loud laugh. "Play outside in the yard? By the time we're done, you won't even be able to stay awake." He chuckled and ruffled Megan's hair. "Well now, my name is Thomas. What's your name?" he kept on chuckling, clearly amused by Megan's attitude.
"Megan. NOT Meggie. And you're gonna do the training stuff?" she did pick up on that, and turned to AriyaLauna with a grin, "Hah! TOL' you you weren't good enough!"
AriyaLauna closed her eyes and didn't bother answering.
Megan turned back to Thomas, accidently dropping the not-caring attitude and looking all eager, "What're we gonna do?"
Thomas chuckled again as he straightened. "It's not that your guardian isn't good enough... it's just your power. You can mimic the powers of other Supers and Villains, right? Well, since youre guardian's not either, it would be kind of hard for her to train you. So, that's why you and I will be training together and later on, when you're older, you'll be partnered up with me as well. By gaining experience with my power at this age, you'll be able to easily partner up with me when you're old enough." He nodded and gave her another wink.
"You got powers then?" Megan suddenly sounded suspicious, going to take a step back, and then scrunching her face up, "Partners? But you're ooollld...You got cool powers?"
"Well, the first thing we're going to do, is to test your condition and endurance." He pointed to a door in the side of the room. "That's where the dressing room is, go there and change into something more suitable."
Megan smirked, "Bet a skirt ain't nothing good for this!" she stuck her tongue out at AriyaLauna and bounded off. Perfect! They were going to tell her to wear something that the woman hated.
AriyaLauna took a deep breath and paced a bit, but after a moment headed after Megan, mumbling something about making sure she didn't do something stupid.
Megan is a loud little thing, and her rumbling could be heard from the dressing room, but it was short-lived, and in no time she was out, looking proud of herself. AriyaLauna was behind her, silent anger flashing momentarily before giving away to reserve.
"READY! Let's go!"
When Megan was changed and ready to go, seeming quite eager, Thomas smiled and crouched down again. "You might want to switch your shoes." He chuckled and tapped her shoes. "They're on the wrong feet. You really won't be able to fight any kind of Villain when you trip."
"Oh, ARIYA didn't see it... She must not be no good, huh?" Megan announced as she kicked her shoes off forcefully, letting them thunk into Thomas's feet.
"MISS Ariya," AriyaLauna snapped. She was fuming. Of course she'd noticed, but was trying very hard to pick her battles. Megan had purposely thrown those shoes on incorrectly to goad her.
He waited patiently until Megan had changed her shoes and pointed at the obstacle course. "Alright then, this is an obstacle course. You need to tackle it within a minute."
He looked on his watch. "Alright. GO!"

Training, Failing, and Temper Tantrums:
Megan was staring at the so-called obstacale course when he yelled for her to go, and she squealed, "NOT FAIR! I wasn't ready! REDO!" And she stood and folded her arms until she got her way about that.
And then she was off, surprisingly all ready and eager to please. Except the first thing she tried doing was crawling UNDER the ropes that maybe she had been supposed to climb... It worked, although once she got to the other side, she had to manuever her way up to get to the handles that... well, in reality she was supposed to climb across. She used her weight and force to make them swing, getting half-way across before finally climbing on top and trying to jump from swinging disc to swingng disc.... Miraculously, she didn't fall. And then when she was supposed to go through that funny place where if she touched anything that stupid buzzer and flashing lights would go off... Well... After the first little while, Megan tried just running straight through in frustration and ignoring those buzzers. It earned her being trapped inside a place where she wouldn't have ever had the CHANCE to be trapped if she'd actually followed the initial path. She let out a squeal of angry protest, but wouldn't call for help. She got out though, and, with hands clamped firmly on her ears and making herself as small as possible, she walked through the rest of it, completely unaware the fact that she was probably putting herself through more trouble by staying on the ground-level as opposed to trying a variety of other possible paths.
She came out though, head tossed high and with a wide grin, "How's THAT?"
Well... "That" had taken all of... ooh... 16 minutes... At least there had been some amusement for the watching adults.
Thomas shook his head. "Well, you may try that again. Aaaaand GO!"
"But..." Megan protested, then turned around. Well, she could and would. Besides, she HAD figured out the first time that maaaybe she could do some things a little differently...
... And when she came back after that, she did plop down, "But can't we do something w'POWERS?" The answer was negative, "I'm TIRED now....Ca..PLEASE?" She huffed. She wasn't going to get an answer out of him. But if he really, really had powers maybe if she was good he'd show her... So she went through it a third time, this time taking her time because she was tired, which allowed her to figure things out, really.
And when he simply told her to try again a forth time, Megan kicked her feet, "Ok, ONE more time... Jus' cause I wasn't fast enough last time!"
Hurrying through the fourth time earned her a bigger bump than the previous times, but she'd quickly gotten up. Bumps didn't bother Megan. She wasn't a baby. What DID bother her was the same short answer the fifth time she came back to Thomas.
"WHY?" she demanded, "This ain't nothing! It's STUPID and... and... If Ariya couldn't do nothing like this than she's nothing too and you are too 'cause you had to do it HERE and...I WON'T..." she folded her arms angrily and sat down on the floor to punctuate her point.
Thomas frowned. "I don't like your attitude, not at all, young lady. You need to learn some respect. Especially to your guardian. Do you realise she gave up everything to try and take care of you, and this is how you treat and repay her?"
He paced around, still frowning. "When you're facing a Villain, you can't say that it's stupid and that you don't want to do it! You have no other choice but to do the right thing. And in this case, since I am your teacher, you will do what I say, any time, always. Whether we are in battle or whether we are training, you WILL do what I say. Now, go. And you aren't quitting the course until I say it's alright. Go, Go, GO!"

Temper Training and a Proposal:
"I don't care! She's crazy!" Megan yelled back, "And you're crazy! And you making me do stupid things, ain't no kind of teacher. Jus' a bully. I'll do what I WANT to do!" And Megan stood up and began to stomp toward the door they had come in by.
AriyaLauna, where she was sitting, stiffened, but looked down. Lessons learned from others was always worthwhile. She did give a sidelong glance to Charles to see his reaction. She'd been sitting by him without much said the entire time.
In a blur, Thomas vanished and reappeared in front of Megan. His eyes were narrowed and his voice was dangerously low. "If you leave this room now, you will never learn how to control your powers. Ever. So I suggest you start excersing some self restraint. Right about now." He stood strong and proud, not fazed a minute by Megan's glare. He let out a wry laugh, "Don't try that on me, little girl, I have faced Solarduct a dozen times and lived to tell the tale. Do you think that you will be able to say the same, the way you are carrying on?"
He moved aside. "But, by all means, leave. But not expect to ever return here again."
Charles wasn't really paying attention to anything, he was frowning, and obviously in his own world. At the movement of Thomas, he looked up as if waking from a daze. "Megan's attitude is getting way too big for her." He cast a look at Ariya, "how can you hold up with that?"
"I don't care about no Solarduct or bad guys. I don't want nothing to do w'them. I'm NOT a hero!" Megan screamed back, and when he stepped aside went right on to march out.
But she stopped after several feet, her head hanging low. Something that had been said or done had gotten to her, but she was too prideful to turn around. She didn't want anything to do with Thomas. He was a big meanie. She was waiting for something, though. That was anyone's guess.
"I pray a lot. And I don't react. And I try to figure her out." she paused and sighed, thinking of the times she'd had had to walk out on Megan or shut herself in her room just to calm down, "It's hard. And you? Do you have any children?" She looked at him curiously. He looked so exhausted, and she for the first time felt bad for him and looked at him as a person, as opposed to some high figure. Maybe she'd been to harsh to him.
Thomas walked up to her and put his hand on Megan's shoulder. "Good girl. So you will do whatever I say? And you promise to show some more respect? You have quite a long way to go, but I think it might work out."
He straightened up. "Well, I think you've been trying really hard on the obstacle course and we can probably start with you trying to mimic some of my powers." he grinned at her and motioned for her to follow him. He moved to one of the open spaces.
"Alright, I will start by summoning up a strong energyball of my own, which I will keep in my hand. I want you to try and mimic it. Okay?"
Thomas raised his hand which started to emit a faint blue glow. As the glow turned brighter, energy seemed to sped up towards the tip of his fingers, brightening and blinding until all that remained was a blue-ish glowing orb of energy, floating just above his handpalm. It's aura was blue and it's power was so strong it heavily illumninated Thomas' face. "Go on Megan. Give it a try." he smiled encouraginly at her.
Charles smiled "Mhmm, yes. I had a son and a daughter." He turned to Ariya. "You shouldn't give up on Megan yet. Thomas is excellent at talking with children, he'll talk to her." he let out a sigh. "I have noticed the way Megan's been treating you, and frankly, I think you should stand up for yourself more. Or at least punish her." He looked her in the eye. "Otherwise, when she's older and not getting what she want, she might Turn." his look was sombre as he watched Thomas and Megan.

Training includes trying to KILL the kid, right?
Megan breathed heavily at Thomas' first words, her face taunt with anger, but for once she was too upset to even yell back to begin with. And then he suddenly changed, and started saying something sort of nice and.... He was going to do something with his powers now too!
She watched him suspicously, not following after him, but staring straight at him. She wasn't about to give in, not now. But she watched his energy ball with a sort of curiousity. The battle was very clear on her face. Give in and do what the stupid man said to do, or stand her ground?
"I can't!" she yelled, and turned around to stomp off again. No, she wouldn't even try.
AriyaLauna shook her head, "I'm not giving up on her. I'm just... We--- I've talked to her family and... I don't know. It seems like she WANTS to fight, and if I give into her, she's on her own ground. I can't win that. She's grown up in it. I don't know how to fight like she does. She really is better at it. How-how do I build a relationship if all we do is fight, and that's all she wants to do?" AriyaLauna's was dangerously close to crying, "I can't hold a vice over her and punish her for every little thing."
Thomas didn't hesitate for a moment, but powered up another blue orb in his other hand and threw it straight at Megan. "Yes.You.CAN! DEFEND YOURSELF! YOU BRAT!"
Charles put a hand on Ariya's shoulder. "Raising children is hard, but you shouldn't let her put you down like that. Don't allow it. If you continue to fight along, you will only encourage and fuel it. Do the opposite. Stay calm and give her a punishment. After all, you are the adult. And we have picked you for a reason. I have faith in you." he smiled at her, but his eyes immedatily swivelled to the action on the field. He frowned. Thomas had never trained a child before. Perhaps this hadn't been the best of ideas....
Thomas' suddenly loud voice caused Megan to turned around immediately, and she shrieked, falling on the ground, pulling her knees to her chin and covering her head with her arms, when she saw that orb coming right at her. Maybe she was subtly trying, maybe it was the edge of fear and natural self-defense, but from her fingers similar blueness began to show, and it got bigger as the other orb came closer.
She never let go of what was dancing at the top of her hands, and when Thomas' ball came, it would skim the top of her orb, if something wasn't there to stop the collision.
"I don't fight," AriyaLauna answered, twisting nervously in her chair as she watched Thomas and the girl, "I can't, if I do, she wins... Is this...?"
Thomas reacted immediatly and moved quicker than his own orb, jumping in between it and Megan while he swept her own orb away from her hands. As his blew up, he threw himself on Megan to shield her from the blast. They both fell down, and, as if on reflex, Thomas created a third orb, a lightblue one, and threw it at Megan's. It exploded just before it could hit anything else.
As the loud explosions and smoke were still hanging over the scene, Thomas leaned on his hands and looked at Megan pinned beneath him. He was panting for breath. "Megan, are you alright?" The kid seemed alright enough, since he had taken all of the blast, but you never knew. He felt a very nasty sting in his back. He probably shouldn't have made it that strong. With a groan, he rolled off the girl onto his back.
Charles wasn't really focusing on what Ariya was saying anymore. Instead, he was gazing intensely at what happened before him. When everything seemed to go wrong and Thomas threw himself in front of Megan, Charles was already running towards them.
Reaching them, he took in the conditions of them both with a sharp eye. Megan seemed alright, very shaken, but physically alright. Thomas, however, was a different story.
Charles let out a sigh. "Well now Flashcharge, that was quite stupid." he couldn't keep the anger out of his voice.
Thomas let out a shrug. "Kid had to learn somehow, and she did, right?" he chuckled weakly and attempted to sit up, but had to be supported by Charles. "Damn it man, you're lucky you didn't burn a hole in yourself." Charles shot him another glare. "You know you're our top Super, we can't have you blowing yourself up during training."
Several medics now approached and heaved up the man. "Whoah. Just a bit woozy, guys." he stumbled a bit, holding on to Charles' shoulder for support. "But I'm fine. No need to take me anywhere." He sounded anxious now.
Charles merely rolled his eyes. "You know procedure. You're going to the hospitalwing now to be properly examined by the doctors." And under many protests, Thomas was taken away by three of the medics.
One of the them had stayed behind and looked over Megan. He had just finished taping a slight scratch on Megan's forehead and gave her a pat on the head. "You're gonna be just fine, kid."

Terror in the Safe Grounds... Are we So Safe?
AriyaLauna paid very little heed to what was going on between Thomas and Charles, rather rushing to kneel worriedly behind Megan while the medic looked her over. Megan remained surprisingly quiet throughout the whole ordeal, probably simply from the shock.
She stayed quiet until the medic had stood up and turned to walk off, and then burst into tears, "I want Momma! NO!" and the shriek was frightened, she punched AriyaLauna in the chest as the woman tried to hug her, and scrambled away. "Stay away forever!" She turned and swirved, running off until she cornered herself, and then plopped down there, crying all the harder, but looking warily out at the people. She looked very much like a trapped animal.
AriyaLauna stood, walking a few steps toward Megan, and then pausing uncertainly, rocking a little in her indecision. She began to tiptoe a bit closer, but stopped in horror, "Charles..." she was hardly speaking loud enough to be heard, "Charles?" and she turned around, "Thomas!"
It wasn't an orb, but little blue light pinpoints were on Megan's fingertips, and it was that which was scaring AriyaLauna. She looked queryingly at Thomas, he was the one that knew how to control the powers. He was the one that would know if it'd be dangerous or not, and how to help if it was.
In the state she was in, Megan may or may not have had any awareness of what she was doing.
Thomas was almost at the exit, but looked back when he heard the woman call out his name. She sounded frightened. He quickly saw the kid and the reason the woman was scared. He vanished in a blur and reappeared besides Ariya. He kept his gaze locked onto the kid.
His voice was light and pleasant as he slowly approached her. "Now, now Megan, that's a nice imitation of my power. Very well done. I can summon up orbs just like that one. It's not really something you would want to play with though."
While he had been talking, he had slowly approached Megan and was now only 12 feet away (at least, I think 3 feet = 1 meter.) "Just relax, take a deep breath and want the energy to go away. I know you can do it." He made sure to keep on smiling at the girl as if it wasn't a big deal. But it was. He wasn't sure at how strong these energy was, but if strong enough and if dropped, it could most definitly blow up the entire compound. So much for a super secret, tight security base.

Learning to Control those Powers:
Megan's eyes had gone wide when Thomas suddenly appeared beside AriyaLauna, her mouth dropped open. It was likely that very surprise that kept her from panicking when he continued to come closer to her. As he spoke, and the words slowly registered to her mind, Megan's eyes slowly went down to look at her hands.
There was more panic, and in a frightening moment, Megan quickly pushed her arms away from her, as if trying to get rid of the part of herself that was making the orbs. It was only the fact that Thomas sounded so calm himself that kept her from completely panicing and showing everyone in an unfortunate accident exactly what she could do.
She looked wild-eyed up at Thomas, and back down at her hands. Yes, she wanted it to go away. She wanted it to go away so, so badly. If that was all, then why were they still growing? She moved one hand experimentally, ever so slightly, and decided immediately that it was a bad idea. The explosions were fresh in her mind, and the movement scared her all the more.
~Pretend that there's water, that it's flowing and making the fire go away. Pretend that you're under a waterfall.~ it wasn't Thomas' voice, but one from the past. She didn't even know the boy's name. She tried that, believing that the water would make it go away. It made it the fire go away. But it clearly wouldn't be enough.
She looked back up, eyes pleading. The orbs had stopped growing, at least. She looked beyond Thomas, to AriyaLauna and Charles. Then she pulled her hands back a little closer to her, her arms were getting tired, "Go away, go away, go away," she whisper-chanted, "Don't WANT you...Stoppitstoppitstoppit..." In her frustration, she was beginning to clench her hands and redirect her anger to the stuff there, "Can beat you." And with that, was imagining that she was just squishing them out of existence, and that water would help, and she really, REALLY just wanted them to disappear.
And they did.
Megan kept her hands out from her, staring at them like they would hurt someone too. She didn't look back up to the adults in the room.
As soon as the kid lowered her hands, Thomas jumped over to her and put his arm around her shoulder. "You did very, very well, Megan. I am very proud of you. You don't have to be afraid of this. This is exactly why we are here. To help you learn to deal with this." He kept a hold on her, not really worried about her summoning up more energy (since she was probably too exhausted to do so anyway), but more worried about her mental status. She seemed pretty shocked. "Guess you found that scary, huh? Yeah, I had the same thing, but at my first time, there wasn't anyone to help me out and I ended up blowing up an entire building." He smiled down at her. "I think you can play out in the garden now."

First Training Day Over:
Megan just panted, staring at Thomas with a wild, unreadable look. She tried to, momentarily, struggle away from his grasp, but found herself feeling too trapped to do that, "I want Momma." Coming from Megan, the statement sounded far too quiet, too weak.
AriyaLauna had inched closer, just there close enough in time to hear the last of Thomas' statement and Megan's own comment. "Awh, sweetie." Her words had been involuntary, and she looked for all the world like she wanted to be the one hugging on Megan, but Thomas' presense kept her from doing so. She wouldn't intrude. Compassion laced her face, her eyes wet, though no tears fell. It wasn't just for Megan, but also for Thomas. He really did look like he needed to go on off to the hospital wing.
Thomas's face contorted for a moment as he stroked Megan's face. "Don't worry, I've got you now." He scooped her up in his arms and stood up. His eyes kept on Megan, he didn't seem to have any pain. He looked over at Ariya "I'll take her to the hospital wing."
He strode over to the door, where the medics were shooting both him and the child some concerned looks. He just went straight past them and marched out the door.
Charles put a hand on Ariya's shoulder. "Come on, let's go." He pulled her along to follow the others.
