I just saw Eragon last night with Micah 4laugh It was good as far as movies go, but it was just so rushed. They left a lot of the lesser parts out and changed a few things around to suit the time slot. But over all they got it right. I didn't like the actor who played Durza... gonk
They left out one of my favorite parts... the part where Eragon blows up the giant crystal rose to distract everyone. Micah slept through the whole thing. xd

I'm going to see the movie soon. I was hoping for tomorrow for my birthday, but no one could make it. Ah well, I'm going to see it soon anyway! Did they fit the whole series into one book, or will there be more?
If they fit everything into one, I think I will be scared of blinking in case I miss something. burning_eyes

@Kiyome - There should be more... Since there's another book, I'm sure there will be another movie.
@Leavy-kun - Yes, Micah is my son. biggrin No one word posts.

Disclaimer: Don't hate me. I understand why people love the book, I just can't truthfully say that I do, personally. I don't think there's anything wrong with liking the books either. This is definately not meant as a flame or anything remotely similar. Sorry if anyone takes it that way. If you LOVE the books and don't want to hear from someone who wasn't impressed with them, skip this post...
Hmm, I haven't seen the movie, but honestly I'm not in much of a rush to see it. In all honesty I wasn't particularly impressed with the books. I read the first because I was excited to read a fifteen year old's published work. I mean, I figured it had to be incredible to be published, especially these days. I only read the second to see what happened next, and I'm sorry to say that I'm not holding my breath for the third.
I was slightly disappointed when I originally heard that they were turning it into a movie. I suppose it is the perfect storyline for a movie, expecially after Lord of the Ring's box office success, but there are so many incredible books out there that don't get the recognition they deserve.
Anyway, now that I'm done spouting random, foggy opinions, I'll just say that I am going to see the movie, particularly because I loved LotR and I find a few vague similarities between Tolkien's books, Anne McCaffrey's books, and Paolini's books.

As somebody told me, they completely changed the storyline, they cut out many important things and so on, and so forth... crying I was looking forward to see another interesting fantasy movie (cos I heart fantasy - I must read it and see it regularly wink ) but I'm quite disappointed by this news. I'm going to see it anyway but... stare cry
Oh and there should be another movie (the second book) and if people are still interested, also the third movie.

I loved it, even though it was so different from the book. This is Eragon and Brom's HUUUUUGE JOURNEY (that C.P. emphasized in about 200 pages)- passing through one town, instead of dozens, and riding the pretty horsies until noon, when they'd stop to set up camp. Yeah, RIGHT!
I thought Hrothgar was Jormunder, and my little sister did, too.
My whole family read the book, and my whole family liked the movie, even if we were counting the parts the movie left out on the way home from the cinema. smile
