A note from your Captain: Please keep negative posts to yourself. You're free to express yourself, but all the Eragon hate posts have to stop. Just obey the golden rule: Nothing nice to say? Then shut it.I wanted to reserve this topic. wink
Here in the Czech Republic the first movie should come to our cinemas this month, precisely at the end of it.
The English premiere should be on Dec 15 I think, so it's very close. blaugh
Have you read the books? Do you want to see the movies? Are you interested in fantasy?
I am, it's one of my greatest hobbies, I like watching it, reading it and that's why I created this topic.
And here's the casting:
Do you like it?

I've read two of the books, but got as soon as I got a book more my level I abandoned them. I'm not a fan of teen fantasy.
I don't want, or not want to see the movie. If a friend invites me, I will go, if not, I may just wait until it is out for rent.
I'm a huge fan of fantasy! Just not teen fantasy. Harry Potter, the Inheritance series, most books by J.R.R Tolken, all are far to east to read. Even Lord of the Rings was a little under my taste. I like fantasy with a lot workings and subtle twists and metaphors, so I can analyze while I read. It keeps my brain alive, and not just leaving it dormant while reading words that provide no substance.
Those teen books are a good pass time though, while I wait for a good book to come alone. 3nodding

I actually WANT to see the movie. I loooooooove dragon movies ^_^ I probably don't want to read the book... I don't think I like dragon books O.o Plus, I read an except from my library website and it was littered with grammar errors x.x It might have just been the excert that had all the errors...but might not have been. People been hatin' on Eragon and the errors in it...
Why didn't they hire an editor to fix all that? sweatdrop I read published books to HELP with my grammar, not dumb it down... *mumbles to herself*

I hate bad movies evil ...unless they're hilarious like the new Poseidon XD The man that gets the people to start trying to rescue themselves...he...he made the most HILARIOUS crazy faces XD Then the way it ends is SO perfect. It had AWESOME graphics though *hopes Eragon does too*

Kiyome the Dragon I've read two of the books, but got as soon as I got a book more my level I abandoned them. I'm not a fan of teen fantasy. I don't want, or not want to see the movie. It keeps my brain alive, and not just leaving it dormant while reading words that provide no substance. Those teen books are a good pass time though, while I wait for a good book to come alone. 3nodding O.o, I've studied English literature and I would NEVER say that Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings even more are teen fantasy literature. If I did, I'd get a huge large F and bye-bye, see you next time... blaugh
They are children's literature, but with many messages only for adults (a child can never get the message), with loads of metaphors and so on... Oh, so many metaphors, I don't even want to think about them any more. Sooo happy I passed the exam. lol
And The Lord of the Rings is the most detailed and elaborate fantasy I have ever read.
It doesn't mean there can't be (and there certainly are) fantasy books with even more metaphors and these things... I just can't agree with your statement that HP and LOTR are only teen fantasy books.
As for Eragon, it's a book written by a teenage writer, so there are some deficiencies but his style is good and he can be a very good writer later on...
And please don't take it as an offence, I wrote my opinion. heart

Hope the movie will be good and Ed Speleers will play well. I fear that cos it's his first role ever! And he's got so much to play and to cope with in this movie... If he isn't good, the whole movie will suck (sorry for that expression) cos he's the main character.

glorybaby It had AWESOME graphics though *hopes Eragon does too* It should have, producers finally gave more money for FX and ILM & Weta (currently the best FX companies; Weta was working on LOTR i.e.) were working on that.
