I'm not sure what we do but we excersise before hand and we put all our hands together (in different sections) and do a football thing. Like low brass says "LOW BRASS KICKS a**!" and everyone elses is something else. And my thing is to ask Milo to do a rain dance ('cause last time he did it, it really did rain!)

Our ritual is the 'shining of the Dinkles'.
Which occured in the rain this year. XD
Along with a spider crawling up Anthony's pants... rofl
Usually we search desperatly for socks, and dig out our shoes...and eat pizza while making perverted jokes.

This ALWAYS happens right before half-time. All the individual sections gather together, and the section leaders say encouraging crap, and then....the rousers. XD
You have to be there to really absorb it. All the sections do different cheers or random stuff. For instance, my section, clarinets (whaahaaa!), all put our hands in the middle of the clarinet mass, and yell, "WHAT'S OUR NOTE? C SHARP! WHAT'S OUR NOTE? C SHARP!" That goes on for a couple of minutes, and then two of the seniors construct this clarinet-robot-thing, where the shorter one pretty much plasters himself to the other's back, and sticks their clarinets our between his friend's arm, at which point the two of them start walking mechanically....straight into the piccolute (they made that up) huddle. XD They always yell and run.
Oh yeah, and sometime in between those events, one of the clarinet players go around rubbing other people's earlobes for luck.

Our entire band has some rituals.
Example, when we march off the feild after pre-game, the drummer play sticks. (clicking sticks togethor, or on rims) That's our cue to sing the Smurf Song.
while we're in the stands, some one will shout "What are we watching?" The we randomly yell the word "footbal!" at eachother.

we, the low brass, take the mouthpiece of of our instruments and start hitting it against each others mouthpiece(it sounds cool)b then one of us start screaming "what time is it" and we answer "show time" for about 10 seconds then we count to 3 and say "low brass kicks a**"

well all the sections have little things that they do, but also the whole band does something. we all line up into a block and 3 people (different each year) go to the front and yell "assume the position!" we all yell and put our hands on our hips and then they count off "one, two,one, two, three, four." And the well all count to four and bend to the front four times and then we do it to the left side when we get to the back side we say "ha ha ha ha" and the we count on the right side the we keep doing it until we get to saying "one one ha one one." and then we shack it out which is clapping twice and doing a pelvic thrust... yeah we are awesome.
for sections the flutes (me) all pray and then we do flute kisses which is touching the head joints of our flutes together the clarinets all sing Lean on Me lol and the other sections do stuff i just don't really pay attention lol

Well... I don't know about other sections, but us flutes in our band lightly tap each others hats with our flutes.
and last year, some of my friends and I beat this guy with our plumes for "good luck" xd

My friend from Beechwood, Kentucky, introduced this strange tradition into our band.
We bite each others shoudlers (uniform shoulders, not real shoulders) before competitions for good luck.
No, I don't get it either.

Whenever our football team is defense we all scream "DEFENSE". It really bothers the other team ;3 And when they kick off, the drumline does that "growing suspense" thing.
Oh yeah, and the victory dance. The drumline line starts playing this really fast catchy music, and the whole band starts jumping up in down, left, then right. It's fun.

SHAKE AND BAKE!
One trumpet,always random,runs around punching fists yelling shake and bake. Then me and nubs(Hes missing the fingers on his left hand,plays trumpet)belly bump.
Then we all runb our buts yelling"VELVETY SMOOTH HAAAAEEAEAE"

I dunno if any of you have been to homestarrunner.com before. If you have, our low brass section likes to recreate the famous strongbad email titled "techno". Each of us do one of the parts and we add in one by one like the song goes. The section leader gets to be strongbad. The only thing we do differently is change "the system is down" to "the low brass is down".
The section leader also gives a pep talk before every performance that is supposed to get us all excited. This year I'm the section leader and I like to give my section a lot of notes to help us get better. I give notes pretty quick so I can't keep track of them all when I want to review them. Now all of my pep talks seem to end with "I don't remember what I told you, but remember what I told you."

o.o Section-wise, we'll sometimes say "We ride together, we die together, RTS (Racer Trumpet Section) for life.", but others, we'll emulate the movie 300, and one of the guys in our section (who happens to have a powerful over-taking voice) shouts "RACER BAND, WHAT IS YOUR PROFESSION!?", following the ENTIRE band of 200 yelling the all-too-familiar "AWOOH" three times. It's quite entertaining.

Well, I play a trombone and there are 9 of us. After we get in our circle and finished tuning, we put our hand together and Zach, a junior, says "With Our Powers Combined, We Are... THE BONER SQUAD!""BONER SQUAD! RAWR!" And we scream until our throats become sore. We used to have nicknames. There were Bonerkid, Bonerman, Bonerboy. I made them stop doing that though. (I would had been bonergirl)
Well, we always do good whenever we do that. Hehe.
lol. Also, Our band's Mascot are the Spartans, so it fits the Movie 300 Perfectly. When everyone's done tuning, either a Tuba player or a Baritone player will scream "SPARTANS, WHAT IS YOUR PROFESSION?!" "AWOOH AWOOH AWOOH!"
And After that, they say "BAND, WHAT TIME IS IT?!" "WARTIME!"
Oh, and during the kickoff, we (the trombones) would blast on our horns so it'd sound like car horns. hilarious.

We have a few biggrin
1. Pre-performance we surround the trumpet soloist in a cult circle and sing a song. Can include but not limited to: The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Afternoon Delight, My Girl, etc. Then we push on his head three times and yell TGBN (Trumpets Got Big Nuts) Us girls are used to it by now
2. After our half-time show a randomly chosen senior will receive the trumpet wig. It's a wig. We wear it.
3. As we enter the tunnel before a performance we all either say "PSSSSSSK" (with a hard k) or do a short burst of air thing.. Like you're air playing a part on a trumpet or something, at random times.
4. Randomly chosen section leader gives an inspirational speech after the game when we all huddle again.
I love my school and my section.
