I don't particularly know about the other sections, but my sextion DEFINITELY has pre half-time rituals. We (that is, the flugle and alto saxes) try to concentrate for at least two minutes before we leave the stand on our impending performance (however, us being who we are, this rearely happens.)
However, one thing always does. We always gather onto the track before we line up in onfield order--to tune, arc it up and warm up, etc. Without fail the sextion leader will travel around to each ear in the sextion and calmly whisper "Masturbating monkeys."
It never fails to bring out a chuckle and some good ol' fashioned relaxation.
What are your pre-performance rituals, if any?

Before every peformance, at games or cavacade, the drumline do a stick check where we band our sticks together and wish each other luck for a great show. Then before a cavalcade preformance, we stretch and pray to the drum god! lol It really gets you motivated.

Our band has a little hand thing we do for good luck. We link our pinky, then our index finger, and then press our thumbs together whispering "Good Luck" This is normally for contests, when we are trying to be quiet.
Or we do hand hugs, normally at football games where the silence doesn't matter. This is where each person puts their right hand together with the other one, and wrap their thumb around the other person's hand. Then both go "HAND HUG" and squeeze.
And then in my section, we pray right before we go on. And if someone is standing very tense like, this guy named Matt in my section will come up behind them, grab them, and scream "DON'T FREAK OUT." That is always funny to see.

Before we go on for Pre-Game we have a little tradition called Sax Warm-Ups it has many little things that have been passed down through the years and have lost thier true meanings but theey're still fun to do. I even created a new part for it called sax limbo.

Well, Everyone takes off their hats and we pray.... also we started mocking what the cheerleaders always do and form a circle holding hands with them crossed right over left, and then turn around and yel "Go flutes!" or "go band!" or "go trombones!" or some other random section.

the saxes do have this weird thing where they'd mess up the school fight song on purpose original: s-a-m, o-h-i, vikings vikings samohi! their version: s-a-x, s-a-x, saxes saxes we're the best! (ha what a bunch of losers)
