Wedding Plans The Coming of Nick Part III It had been six months since they'd moved out of the cozy little apartment in the cheap part of town and into a real house. Six months of constant hustle and noise and people moving in and out and big packing boxes, which had been fun to play in at first but got old really quickly when you kept running into them or tripping over them, or tearing them open with your claws and getting yelled at for spilling packing peanuts all over the floor. While Cadentau had to admit that his new south-facing room with huge windows and plush carpet was rather nice, and that he rather liked having a little more space to roam around without having to wander into the noisy mucky-smelling city streets, he was NOT HAPPY AT ALL. For the past six months, Mom had been following that Nick guy around and not paying attention to him. Last Christmas, it had just been him and Mom, just like as many years prior as he could remember, which was seven. He wasn't sure if he hadn't been born before that, since he was from D-Corp, and he'd heard Mom agonizing about the stages of speech and where he was supposed to be psychologically, but all it really meant to Caden was that he was special. Of course he was special. How many other boys out there were lions? Since he was a lion, he was strong and his mane was dark and pretty, and he had big teeth and claws and a nice thick tail with red fluff on the tip instead of just being generic grey. And he might be small now, but Caden would grow up to be a big strong lion who could protect her and not be a fluffy grey housecat. Caden was so much better than that Nik guy in so many ways; Why wasn't Mom paying attention to him? Even now, she was off doing something and Caden was left all alone with no company except Mom's rats and a bunch of falcons, and nothing to look forwards to except a housewarming party later that week. He flicked a claw boredly over the strands of tinsel lining the staircase of the Wolfe family house, just to see the flickers of light move across the opposite wall. Everything was so..seasonal. Well, nothing to do except go for a run. Since the Wolfe family was traditionally a clan of falconers, the grounds were large enough to fly a good number of birds, more than large enough for a rambling young lion. As lazy as he was, Caden had grown to adore excercise and the rush of power it brought him. He might not yet be able to outfight that Nik guy, he might not be able to burn nothing like Pi, that fox kid that sometimes came over, but he could sure pack a whallop and when he was pounding his paws against good firm dirt, it sure felt good.

Cadentau participates in a Secret Santa event. Whose name will he draw? Well, it would ruin the fun if it were displayed here. Who drew his name? We don't know. What gift will he get? Wait until the 25th and find out! ^^

When a gift showed up to be absent under the corp's tree that year, the local kindergarden teacher had gone into a panic, and soon the boss of the company was calling in favors to pull out a suprise gift on Christmas day.
But to everyone else, the true result would be unknown for now, as Cadentau's gift was safely nestled under the tree when it came time, with a little "merry christmas" note tied to it. Inside was a large, fluffy, comforter, with a simple pattern that resembled something straight out of the lion king. The same sort of patterns and colors boardered the golden fluffy blanket. And tacked to that, was a coupon to an all you can eat buffet.

CatCry Secret Santa! Pt. II As much as Caden normally looked forwards to Christmas morning, there were two problems with it. First, "Christmas morning" contained the word "morning", which was naturally not a time that Caden considered to actually be part of the day. The second part was exclusive to this year. It started with an N, ended with a Q and had cat ears. Being fully aware of this second problem, Caden purposefully dragged himself out of bed and got changed into his most menacing set of clothes (the black shirt with the asp on it and black jeans) and stalked down to the Christmas tree as soon as the sun was up. He set up camp between his mother's presents and his, snarling to himself and flicking his tail possessively. He pushed all the presents bearing any trace of Niq's scent to one side and turned his back on them. Just because some guy happened to be around for Christmas didn't mean that he was going to ruin the entire day. He growled louder, crouching over the presents, ready to maul any annoying cat-eared man who came within strike range. However, something orange and black caught his eye. It was a large fluffy blanket that smelled vaguely like...Ms. Kat? Caden pulled it out, admiring the bright colors. How would anything from Ms. Kat have made it's way to the tree? And it wasn't even wrapped! Caden shrugged, arranging it around himself, so he would guard the gifts a little more comfortably. When Wolfie and Niq finally made their way downstairs, they found a fluffy little lion snuggled into a fluffy blanket and napping fitfully.

Wedding Plans Continued The Coming of Nick Part III Air whooshed in and out of his lungs at a soothing pace. His hair was dampening with sweat and the thin fur on his arms and legs stood upright in an attempt to let off all the extra heat. Caden wandered through the front door, sated and calm for the time being. He could still hear his heart pounding in his ears and his calves were comfortably sore. Mom and that Niq guy (Caden still had energy enough to snarl quietly.) were sitting at the table with some lady he didn't know, discussing something about colors and flowers. Trivial nonsense. He flicked an ear in their direction when he heard the word "cake". Tiered cake? Marble cake? Swivel cake? Decorations? Something along the lines of silver birds, and why on earth would it matter what anyone was wearing while eating the cake? Caden hoped that he would get a slice, but he frowned when they mentioned his name in conjuction with the phrase "fitted for a suit". Ah hell no! It was going to be one of those dumb formal events where he had to stuff himself into a collared shirt and a bowtie. Dignified lions did NOT wear bowties. Of course, being a lion and all, Caden wasn't exactly the brightest lightbulb even if he was the sharpest tool, or at least had the sharpest tools attached to his limbs. If he was, he might have realized that the possibility of a suit meant an important event, and if that important event involved cake and that Niq guy, it was probably a wedding. And if Niq and his mother (who else would it be?) got married, Niq would be his Dad, and that would mean he would have to interact peacefully with him on a regular basis in order to make Mom happy, not that he didn't do that already. But of course, Caden was not the brightest lightbulb, nor any lightbulb, so he blissfully continued on his oblivious way up the stairs.

An Unexpected Call
It seems D-Corp has contacted you and told you to bring your child in for a check up immediately. Very little information was given to you over the phone other than the fact that it was critical that they be brought in as soon as possible.
Once at D-Corp you are directed to Dr. Acklin's office. He's running about writing things down and clicking away at some keyboards. Once he notices you he seats you and your child down immediately to take a blood sample.
The sample is run right away in the back of the office the doctors face in the computer screen the whole while. After almost an hour of being told to wait patiently the test results are finally done and you are told you are free to leave. No information is given as to why you were so urgently called in however you were assured that your child is perfectly healthy and that there is no reason for alarm.
