Salali was agast by Tawadi's accusation. What would drive the Soquili to do such a thing? "How could that be? The Soquili are a peaceful bunch. Even the cruel ones are not this evil."

Saika, however, wasn't as speechless as her four-legged friend. "Perhaps it was a lone Soquili who did this. None of the village Soquili would have!!!!!" she yelled, outraged.

Rei stared at the Cheif. Not knowing his name, she said "Pardon me, everyone but how is it that it could not be a soquili? It could be for all we know. There are unexplained things in this world that we and all of our soquilis have yet to figure out." She raised her eyebrows at their outrage. Were they so narrow minded that they could rule out the possibility?

Anubis nodded, knowing why he always paired up with this woman that lead to a contract between them. Her quick wit and open-minded ness were different leading him to her as a firefly was drawn to light. He couldnt quite understand it but her tone said enough.

It was...horrifying. The pair walked in on a scene of confusion; Soquili and Kawani everywhere, the reek of animal, blood...Cowrie shook, ignoring the suddenly strong urge to go back into the forest, escape this.

"You don't think an animal did THIS, do you?" Verbena said, still sounding scornful. She stepped out closer to the village, taking in everything keenly, and shook her head. "Animals wouldn't act like this. They don't have it in them." She addressed herself mostly, but also anyone near them - trying to dispell any thoughts that innocent (but not intelligent) animals would do something like this.

Right then, Chief Tawadi cried out - she breathed out a laugh of triumph. "Kalonas, I'll bet. she murmured. Or if it was a normal Soquili who'd done this...they'd be chased out in no time. Not a problem. The criminals would pay, and all would go back to normal again. "Who isn't here? Does anyone know who would think of this?" So what if she liked to stir up trouble? She honestly didn't think it was that big a deal, but...

"Verb." Cowrie warned softly, catching the tone in her friend's voice, but not understanding the words.

She saw that the entire village was not how it had appeared when she first saw it. The proud, tall teepees appeared to bow to the winds that blew a very foreboding shiver out of all who were near. She saw two-leggers starting to gather, their eyes not looking in the direction of the Soquili that had made her escape to the village.

A deep voice echoed, the chief trying to lay blame to a Soquili. She moved just outside of the crowd and snorted at such an accusation. The silly two-leggers could not understand and it was unfair for there to be no voice currently to defend the speechless creatures.

Not wanting to stick around for further finger pointing, the mare moved further into the village. She could smell fear, anger, blood, and dispair. She snorted again to remove the scents that plagued her. And then she saw a mare down on the ground seeming almost like death.
"Why would the Gods allow something so terrible," she asked outloud in a frightened tone that came off as a high pitch horse "scream" to the two-leggers around. She suddenly wanted the comfort of her two-legger or another Soquili she knew to tell her what to do.

Yei had no idea what the two-legger was saying but dutifully followed Nagual as she approached the arrowheads, it was only as Nagual sniffed at the arrowheads though that she too noticed the soquili print and curiously placed her own hoof against it, unsurprisingly hers was slightly smaller and she soon bent down in an attempt to sniff out and discern the scent.

What she was met with however was something more putrid than she anticipated and something almost impure...it was a scent she had smelt before but couldn't quite place which caused suitable irritation.

"How could any Soquili be this destructive, even Kalona do not do this!" She whispered.

Nagual laid her ears back. Her time with Sanika had helped her learn more about two-legger emotions, and even a few words -though she rarely knew the meanings-. "Why would a Kalona wish to do such a thing?" she asked, for she never thought a kalona was innately evil.

"No... not any usual soquili... there is canine here," Nagual sneezed again, the smell itching her nostrils.

She lipped up one of the arrowheads and almost immediately spat it out. Her head raised, Nagual stared wide-eyed at the pieces of rock and then to the two-legger chief. She shook her head, it wasn't any kind of soquili shep had met. "That is NOT right...!"

Cualtzin dropped the teepee finally looking at everyone. his ears dropped down. What was going on? He didn't know though it looked like no one did. He trotted up to Alsoomse and nuzzled her. She seemed quite distrot. What was going on. He looked at the Chief.

Alsoomse looked up at him. "Then if it was a Soquili, something torrible happened to it to make it even think about attacking everything." She said. She wasn't quite sure about Kalonas. She patted Cualtzin as he nuzzled her. With a beast like this around, they certainly where safe. "What's going to happen?" She asked with teary eyes.

Lunathiel pulled her head back in disgust. Who would spray a blanket? Such foul behavior. "Maybe it was just an animal in pain? Maybe a sickness corrupted it's soul..." She said hopefully not wanting to even consider that a fellow horse could have done this.

Atsila listened to the Cheif a bit more before speaking out. "Perhaps it's a creature that takes on the form of a Soquili sent by evil creatures to punish us for our misdeeds in the past?" This thought had lingered in Atsila's mind for a moment. Truely it couldn't be just any Soquili that had been around. It had to be something created from another that filled it's heart with darkness.

Hidden in the darkness, Heartless was lurking, watching all of the soquili panic. She did not have a heart, or if she did, it was long buried by now. So she could not feel the fear they were feeling but whatever was going on. The creature... destroyed the indian burial grounds. She had become rather fond of this place, it was filled with sadness and death. So even she was rather appalled that something had the nerve to come in here and do something like this.

In the distance, she saw another kalona, Rot. He was... angry? She didn't know how that felt but... he was obviously not happy. She continued to watch all of the events unfolding from the distance.

At the sound of this Tawadi nodded. "I agree. Does anyone know any soquilis who are outcasts from the village and are loners? Speak up please. We must get to the bottom of this!"

Saika put an arm around her good friend Alsoomse. "She's right, this Soquili is pure evil, even worse than the Kalonas!" she declared, tears falling down her own cheeks.

Myoa agreed. "Even a Kalona has honor. This...it's honorless, it's just terrible! Only a truely heartless Soquili would do this..."

"A canine?" Yei glanced at Nagual for a long while as the younger mare continued to sniff around the arrowheads and prints. The girl was young but bright and perfectly apt when it came to certain things, afterall, she relied on her sense of smell to find those berries of hers so why couldn't she recognise something else?

The older mare's thoughts turned back to the period during the night in which both had been upon the mountainside, when both had heard the piercing howl followed by the scream of the two-legged female...could they somehow have been linked.

"Didn't we hear something like a canine early this morning?" She enquired slowly.

Nayuli hung her head in thought for a moment.
"Legends dear Cheif, do we know of any legends relating to this? We've thought things not to be true before, so knowing our legends might indeed help in this matter?"

Degewi nuzzled Myoa. "It will be alright, Ill protect you mo matter what."

Sgina laughed. "I know there is evil, I am evil, but whom ever did this would serve as a fine minion. Come if you wish not to be let alone little baby Kimi." Sgina said trotting towards the group of two leggers

Zira growled slightly watching the cheif. Two leggers really should be distroyed so quick to blame a soquilli for a crime.

Halloween's ears perked and then fell as Tawadi spoke of loners and outcasts. She wasn't an outcast but she was a bit of a loner from time to time. Slowly she backed away from Tawadi not wanting him to start pointing fingers at her. Salali was still caught up in shock that she did not notice Halloween back up.
