User ImageWelcome to the skinwalker RPing HQ! In this place the skinwalker story will pan itself out and you can RP along. Read everything and join in with an indian persona or soquili! You can post and don't need to be a member of the guild. it's on public settings.

-Oyohusa the evil Skinwalker was once a kind and gentle shamen before the darkness engulfed his heart and blackened it. He began using the powers the spirits gave him for wicked things. The village caught wind of his treacherous behavior so decided to outcast him from society by chasing him away with large stones.

Once out of the village, Oyohusa's heart turned even blacker and a dark spirit turned him into a Skinwalker. He began to grow a second skin..but not a human one.. it was a coyote pelt that covered him. In anger, Oyohusa ripped it away from his body and made a capped shawl out of the material to help against the cold weather. He didn't know what became of him. At night, the skin creeped off Oyohusa's body as he slept and covered him once more. He shifted into an evil coyote that had a thirst for blood and evil doings. Oyohusa in his animal form ravaged the very village that he was raised in as a young boy. He desecrated their holy totem poles and crops. He killed all their livestock and horses as well.

When dawn grazed the sky with her rosey fingers, Oyohusa woke up in a brush naked except for the skin around his head and shoulders. He found his discarded clothing nearby and couldn't believe what had happened. What was this creature he had become? Oyohusa had heard legends about a villian known as a Skinwalker that shared many of his present attributes. He began to get afraid but a voice of the dark spirit turned all of his fear into bitter hatred.

Oyohusa then accepted his new way of life and began to actually enjoy killing and hurting others. Then he chanced upon a kind people known as the Kawani tribe who were so happy. Oyohusa was infuriated to see so much laughter and love among those people so decided he might enact his filthy ways upon them sometime... but who will stop him??

The horror begins...
It was midnight as Soquili slept in her buckskin teepee. In her mind a dream began to errupt but quickly turned into a nightmare. Soquili woke up with a blood curling scream without any remembrance of what she had dreamt about only prickles of fear washed over her entire body. Outside she could hear the frightening howl of a coyote but it did not quite sound like that sort of creature. Something else but she didn't know quite what it was.

Some movement outside her teepee entrance provoked her to pick up a tomahawk that lay nearby. She readied it in her hands to strike whomever or whatever was outside if they proved themselves a fiend. When the culprit revealed themselves, Soquili burst out with laughter. It was only Mesarthim, her soquili but the indian princess smile turned into a furrowed brow when she saw a bloody gash on the horse's side. Mesarthim sighed heavily and fell in a heap on the ground, nearly knocking down the teepee with her but it was built strong so held up.

"Oh poor Mesarthim! What has happened to you?" Soquili cried out. The horse wasn't breathing regular and every so often her body would shake with pain.

The gash on Mesarthim's side looked like it was made by a creature Soquili had never seen before. Shards of flesh was torn out like she had been ravashed by a wild beast. What was this terrible animal who did this to her sweet Mesarthim?

Tasunke's terror..

Yesterday, Tasuke had decided to camp outside under the stars with the spirits. He was on Eaglecrest cliff and could see the entire Kawani village below like ants. The world looked so different from up here and he felt a great importance within him like he was the protector of the small village. This would prove true when his father passed the chief responsibility upon his young shoulders.

Now he was in a deep sleep with a smile upon his face as he dreamt about the future and how powerful he would become. From the once peaceful village there echoed his sister's scream upon the surrounding mountains. He knew it was Soquili because no one could scream like she could. It must be something important since he hadn't heard her in so long.

He was sure the entire village was awakened by her and he decided to venture downward to inspect. Malikai, Tasunke's horse was grazing on the wildflowers to the left but picked up his head like he knew something wasn't right.

There was a gut instinct that someone he loved was in trouble. Without any hesitation, Malikai whinnied boldly and galloped towards the village.

"Wait! Malikai.. don't leave me," Tasunke called out but the horse vanished from view. "I wonder what has come over him? Maybe Soquili just had another nightmare but now I sense something more".

Tasunke left his camping furs and pots behind and he ran down the trail that led to the village. Upon his arrival, many villagers were outside dumbfounded at the scream and howls they heard. Many asked questions that he didn't know the answers to.

"I just got here. Don't worry I'll find the answers my people" he shouted out and raced to Soquili's teepee.

'Mesarthim! Please wake up..." Soquili moaned with tears streaming down her cheeks. The horse was now as still as a rock but in a deep sleep.

She didn't know but Mesarthim was only in a coma because the loss of blood had rendered the poor horse unconscious. Soquili's ears twitched at some impeading footsteps that were headed her way so she grabbed the tomahawk again.

"Don't come any closer!" she yelled out but put down the weapon when she saw it was only Tasunke. "Brother!"

Both siblings hugged each other tightly when Tasunke saw the injured horse. Malikai wasn't anywhere in sight and this worried Tasunke. Surely he thought the horse would beat him to the teepee.

"Oh my.. what has happened to Mesarthim?" Tasunke asked as he broke from his sister's embrace and kneeled by the horse. He took off his shirt and lay it upon the bloody wound. It looked to be clotting now as not as much blood flowed out. "Have you seen Malikai? He was headed this way..."

Soquili fell to a heap next to her brother and her eyelids were heavy. The sight of so much blood had made her become dizzy. When she finally composed herself, Soquili shook her head. "No. I haven't seen him. Brother, what sort of creature could of done this to my horse?"

The comatose horse stirred a little as Tasunke brushed his hand over her back. "Look Soquili! She is alive... but barely. We must get her to the shaman and fast. Do you know where Foalen is? I don't know if he is still around at this hour."

Shaking her head, Soquili's chocolate eyes brightened with hope that her horse's soul wasn't taken by the kalonas. She could feel their prescence though because above there was a black raven cawing into the night.

"Shoo shoo! Get away from here you evil kalona. There is no one here for you to take tonight.. you disgust me!" Soquili screetched at the bird and threw her tomahawk at it. The bird flew away swiftly into the dark nothingness.

Tasunke wrapped his arm around his sister's small shoulders. "It'll be alright. Foalen will help her. I'll go find him and you stay here to look after Mesarthim." he said and then ran off into the night.

The boy had ran out a few yards from Soquili's teepee when he could make out an animal laying down by the old willow tree. It didn't appear to be sleeping but injured.

Tasunke arrived by the animals side and realized it was Malikai! He had the same fate as Mesarthim with the bloody gash on his side. This horse was alot stronger and he was trying to get up but the pain was too much to bear.

"Mesarthim..." whinnied Malikai. He could sense his mate needed him but he couldn't get up.

"Don't worry boy, she is alright" Tasunke said. He was sure Malikai could understand him but he didn't know what the horse said.. only knew with his heart.

With a pounding heart, Tasunke pulled Malikai up steadily and the horse belted out a loud neigh. The gash on his stomach wasn't as deep as Mesarthim's but he still had problems walking.

"Who did this to you my friend? Tell me." Tasunke whispered while patting the brave horse's forhead.

Malikai didn't know. The attack came at him while he was running accross the field. Perhaps he was blinded by his love for Mesarthim and didn't see the creature who did this to him. What he did remember was it was all black and the sharp teeth tore into him like the sharpest arrows. He suddenly knew what sort of animal this was. With a hoof, Tasunke drew a symbol on the sand. He was smart horse and knew several Cherokee words to communicate with the two leggers.

"Coyote." Tasunke replied, "Did a coyote really do this to you? Aren't they small animals.." he trailed off. He was sure of it. Were these coyotes breeding bigger these days?

The mark of the dark spirit

It was dawn at last as a nude old man awoke in a thicket. He climbed out and stood up to stetch his frail copper body without any bashfulness as if this happened alot. The mouth of this man was encircled in dried blood and the same existed under his sharp fingernails. There was a pelt of dark grey fur that was flown across the brambles without any care. He quickly plucked up the furs and covered his body with them and began searching for his pants.

This was his way of life now.. as a skinwalker. The events last night were only a blur as he couldn't quite recall what exactly happened. He was in an unfamiliar territory with a hunger for food. His nostrils picked up some corn cakes not too far away so he decided to go towards the inticing oder.

((feel free to RP that your soquili or indian persona is awake and they see that the village has been trashed. Totem poles are slashed up with claws, crops are sprayed on (urine) also some livestock are eaten and tomes in the indian burial ground are desecrated. Malikai and Mesarthim are still injured and are at Soquili's teepee to await Foalen the shaman..))

Firefly had been wandering on the outskirts of the Kawani village most of the night. Something was wrong, she could feel it. Something bad was about to happen.

At that moment, her ears perked forward as she heard the blood curdiling scream. Her head snapped up as she looked around with her dark red eyes, trying to see where it could have come from. She had a real bad feeling about this.

Giveing a disgruntled snort, she trotted towards where it had come from. Watching as groups of Kawani dashed from their teepees, all wide eyed and looking a bit scared from the sudden noise that had interrupted their sleep.

Though her curiosity beget her and edged her on to see what it was all the commotion was about. Her long two toned tail trailed behind her as she moved through the shadows behind the teepees.

As she reached where it was she heard the scream come from she stoppd and lingered in the shadows. Her eyes turning into slits as she watched as a mare layed there on the ground, looking almost as if she was on death's door. Her ears flattened against her delicate skull as she watched in almost horror. Who or what could of done this?

Was whatever it was that created an injury to a full grown Soquili still around? She pranced in place for a moment, not in fright, but a bit anxious. She herself didn't want to get injured, and now she was worrying about Chu and Atsila. If it could easily take down this one, Chu would be easy pray and Atsila the easier prey. Sure she had weapons, but could she really defend herself from whatever it was that did this to that mare? She wasn't sure, but it worried her quite a bit.

She stayed in place and watched the injured mare quietly, keeping her ears perked to listen for any unknown things that might want to creep up on her.

Kimi walked through the Kawani village to bring a few shells she and Rahu had found to Nashota. The Kawani village was destroyed. Nashota's teepee was knocked over and ripped to pieces.
"Nashota!" shouted Kimi, galloping over to the teepee. Kimi put her head under, trying to look under the teepee fabric and found Nashota, who was either unconcious or asleep.
"What has happened here?" asked Kimi, looking around. It was a lifeless village.

Nayuli awoke from the sudden cry in the villiage she made her way quickly from her teepee that was just off to the side of the villiage. The sence was horrible as everything had been distored in her own baskets she had painted the day before was chewed on and some holding crops even sprayed by some animal. The elderly woman seached for the cheif in hopes of an awnser to this.

It was dark out, and their eyes were reflected in the moon's glow - wide, frightened, terrified. Pressed up against each other along the path to the village were a girl and her Soquili friend, and they had heard a howl echoing close inside their bones and the scream of a girl, thin and shrill, silencing the forest's denizens.

Cowrie was shivering as she pressed up against Verbena's side. "What...what was that?" she whispered, like she expected something to leap out of the darkness at a louder voice. Shaking off her moment of fear, Verbena snorted without concern. "It's just a coyote." she said scornfully, but being a silly human, Cowrie didn't understand. Instead, she got trembling to her feet and gestured for the mare to follow.

"I don't feel safe out here." The girl swallowed. "Maybe someone will let us stay in the village for the night, do you think?"

Verbena thought it was silly. Coyotes were all over the place. Some child had probably run into one and shrieked all the way back to the village, and it would be all forgotten about tomorrow. But still, it wouldn't hurt to humor her person. Getting up as well, she followed Cowrie deeper into the forest. It was going to be a long walk; Cowrie jumped at every noise, and babbled hysterically, all in a sharp whisper: "We are safe, aren't we? It's not like I'm a coward, but there's something scary about noises like that. We'll be fine. We'll be very fine."

Verb walked on in silence, trying her best not to pay attention.

Sgina followed her sister Kimi in hopes of some entertainment in this boring peaceful paradise. As they arrived in the villiage Sgina was delighted upon the site of the obvisously battered villiage.
"Oh delightful days of days, what marvalous creature of evil has placed its mark on this land?" She said with glee running through the villiage to get a better look at the mess.

Hania stirred sharply hearing screams of the two-leggers. He felt a sudden movement, and whinnied softly to Miakoda, who had stirred and was groping around for her weapon. "Miakoda?" he whispered. Something was wrong in the Kawani village, and he knew his human wanted to go there and find the trouble. Something was very wrong tonight. Very wrong... he shuddered to think of what had happened. He hoped Princess Soquili and Tasunke were all right. He felt Miakoda get on him, and away they went, galloping toward the village.

Nagual paused, taking in Yei's words. She wasn't sure if the mare would really do all that... would she? For her? She hoped so, it sounded like a very fun idea!

The mare looked up for a moment when a breeze caught them. "It's a chill night, don't you think?" she looked at the bright mare. A shiver went down Nagual's back, bringing forboding feelings.... but when it passed she hardly remembered it ever happened.

.[ paramekia ].
Cold? Yei paused briefly and despite her autumn coat, she too gave a shiver and released a small snort of disapproval at her own discomfort. It was true, it was a chill night and she was rather surprised due to how close to the desert they were, usually it retains at leat some heat this close to the mountainside...then again, they were reasonably high up on the slope she supposed.

"Rather cold." She agreed after a short while and flicked her ears towards briefly as if to persuade her composure to return to her - it was only after a few moments that she heard the obscure howl of a beast and then the shriek of a two-legger which was carried across the slope by a similar breeze as they had experienced before.

"Did you hear that?" She enquired uncertainly as she turned her head towards the village, "Or was it just me?"

Nagual-an's ears flickered, and she bodily turned around toward the village. Her ears perked forward. It was a little strange, as the sounds had bounced through the mountains. "I heard it..." she said quietly and started walking that way.

The mare was lucky there was moonlight and stars to follow, for surely she would have broken a leg on these rough mountain trails. Nagual followed Yei, who knew the area better.

------

It had taken them the rest of the night to come to the village. Nagual's nose wrinkled before they arrived. "Yei... do you smell that?" She couldn't place it... coyote, horse, two-legger.... "Blood?" Her eyes widened and she looked to Yei worriedly.

"Sgina, I know you don't care for the good of anything, but can you please help me save this two legger?" Kimi asked.
Kimi tried lifting the teepee off Nashota, but she wasn't able to do it alone.
"Please," said Kimi with eyes worthy of pity and an expression of hope.
