"Probably magic..." he murmured to himself, nodding slightly. Important people, big time wizards, high magic, all that stuff. He chuckled nervously at the ground. Why WAS he hear? He didn't really think he could stop her, did he? Or that she has any reason to tell him the truth... then again, she had no reason he could see to lie. She could probably kill him without a thought. Do one of those poof magic things and melt his brain.
He looked up at her again after a moment, "Um... can... I.. uh... go there first?" he asked hesitantly, flinching as he did so.

"I doubt it, I am not magically inclined." She muttered dismissively as she swung on her heel and began to walk across the stone bridge leading towards the temple, her cloak billowing out behind her in the pre-generated wind as she went; she would have looked relatively daunting upon her approach if she had been seen from the front but alas she wasn't.
Nevertheless, the invitation was open - she had neither accepted nor rejected his request to enter first and in terms of a simpleton (where she would have lived at least) that often meant that if you could reach the door before the other person, then courtesy and politeness commanded that they wait for you to enter first out of respect.
Head bowed however, she continued on her way, her foot steps scarcily making a sound upon the rocky surface that she now walked upon...

Roger followed behind slowly, looking down at the stone bridge, rather than ahead, at the weird woman. It was true, he could feel 'it' here. But... that wasn't anything anyone else had ever suggested was real before. In fact, he was told many, many times that it was just crazy, that he had no talents like that. Maybe this woman really was crazy too? Maybe he was crazy, and this was just a halucination... either seemed completely plausible in his mind. A lot more plausible than 'there is something here that is calling out to two random people, one of which has no rightly business being called by anything'.

Considering his pace, he didn't actually reach the door before her and as she examined the ornate doorway her lips pursed beneath her mask. The doors appeared rather heavy and if they hadn't been opened in a very long time then she would no doubt have trouble opening them now - however, before she leapt to any conclusions she pushed against them with the full force of her body and much to her surprise the doors actually began to slide open!
"Well, well, well..." She murmured through her own satisfaction as she tilted her hat up slightly. The doors were opening rather slowly but the darkness she expected to engulf her never came as the delicate and yet dim lightning spilled out from the doorway to meet her -
Turning round, she glanced towards the shuffling man and shook her head, "You wanted to enter first now I suggest that you move significantly faster if that is the case!" She ordered curtly and took a slight step back from the doorway to give him space.
//Perhaps we should jump into the main entrance hall after he enters? Then I can sort of say; "End of part one" in here and we can come back to the outside later on. It makes more sense to navigate around the threads accordingly as opposed to being inside the temple when the title says it's outside. xd

What the hell was he thinking? It rang out like a hammer in his mind, compounding his headache, and the pain from the sore jaw that the lady had given him. His right hand came up, rubbing his forehead slightly as he came to the doorway. He didn't even bother to check inside, he seemed so lost in his little world, as he just shuffled in, as though nothing had changed.

She could only shake her head in absolute disgust at his lack of manners - he was either doing it on purpose or had never been taught any for of etiquette whatsoever. Nevertheless, as he entered the peculiar building she too followed in behind, pulling her cloak around her lithe form as she disappeared into the dimly lit entrance hall.
The door soon closed behind her as though she had closed it on reflex.
...End of Part One...

{ Enter from Durem } The forest was much thicker than he expected it to be, but then again, it wasn't as if anybody actually lived up here. He always thought it was property of the Facility, which would've meant that he was trespassing...but eh, it wasn't as if he was vandalizing anything. So what if he was taking a little illegal stroll?
Besides, not like he was alone - the broken underbrush and footsteps could account for that. At least one other person must have passed through here, and from the look of it, they'd passed by fairly recently. The broken twigs were still green.
Do I really want to go through all that? He gazed doubtfully at the dense underbrush. ...no, but I'm going to anyway, so may as well get started. Eidos stepped forward and began to push his way through, following the freshly made trail before him.

He was glad to be wearing long sleeves today, or else Eidos was sure his arms would be a mess of scratches by now. Same went for the thick corduroy pants (never mind what everybody else said about heat stroke and dehydration, he knew what he was doing).
Not that it would do much when it came to impacting the ground. The russet-haired teen peered over the cliff's edge and made a quick estimate, then dropped down off the edge and rolled with the impact. There was no way a little distance was going to be keeping him from that strange temple he'd just seen up ahead. In the back of his mind, Eidos wasn't even certain if he could keep away, the pull was so intense...but that stayed far within his hidden thoughts. By the same token, he ignored the fact that he had lost the "trail" of broken underbrush long ago and had simply known which direction to go. They were uncomfortable ideas.
From here the underbrush seemed lighter, and Eidos made good time. He'd have to hurry anyway; Mother would start worrying about him pretty soon, and he'd rather avoid a lecture tonight. In fact, Eidos was expecting his cell phone to ring at any second now...but it didn't matter. He was here.
Eidos gazed up at the building before him, making a mental note of the delicate stone architecture. Amazing...even the buildings of Durem couldn't compete with this marvel. He wasn't a religious person, but he couldn't resist feeling a sense of awe.
For a second, he hesitated...then pushed the door inwards. It slid open easily, seeming to move almost before he even touched it - almost as if he had been expected and welcomed by an invisible butler. Yet another uncomfortable idea.
He took a deep breath and stepped inside. The door softly shut itself behind him.

[ Approach ] -------------------------------------- (( Playing as a different character from Kel-chan; her shapeshifting partner, Daniel. ))The lanky man narrowed his eyes as he brushed the last of the foliage away. The long coat was slung over one shoulder, the sleeves of his blue shirt pushed up in the heat, for the traveller had been walking fast to get to this place he had heard snatches of rumours about. Silvery scars covered his skin, here and there speckled with new blood as he had battled with the plants of this overgrown forest. Muttering under his breath, the shapeshifter took off his glasses to wipe the sweat from them, replacing them and blinking bright blue eyes as he stared at the building that dominated this unusual clearing. Strange, he thought, fighting free of the last of the underbrush and walking reverently up towards the compellingly strange construction.

Voices floated down from above, making the man shiver. Was it ghosts, or spirits? His superstitious nature was hastily put down, and he stood a little taller, mouth slightly open in a defiant grin, slightly pointed teeth emphasised. He told himself that he could take on anything that came his way, little realising that the 'ghostly voices' were actually from the balcony high above.
Leaning down slowly, he unwound a sticky plant that had enmeshed itself in his trousers and threw it to the side cautiously. The main doors seemed to be just around to the side from where he had entered; his sharp eyes picked up tracks of other people, and recent scents still hung in the air. Padding around to the front of the building on silent shoes, he transferred his coat to the other arm and adjusted his glasses once more. Having come this far, he may as well go in. The voices were louder; slightly more human as well. Perhaps these others leaving their messy trails. He opened the door with a sharp movement, eyes largening to take in the gloomier inside. Still no sign of life.

...From The Main Hall...
As soon as she was outside she dropepd the burning hat beside the rocky bridge and allowed it to turn to ash, her steps unfaltering as she approached the outskirts of the forest. Now that she had made her way through she apparently knew her way out again and was by no means about to get lost once more - still, if he were to ask he would find out that the gloves she wore were in fact fire proof to an extent and that she had felt the flames as they threatened to envelope the material.
Regardless, she did glance behind her and cast a questioning glance towards Roger before disappearing into the forests to navigate her way back to the exits of the forest and to the roads where she had left her companion mount during her exploration...

((From the Temple Hall))
Roger looked over at the burning hat, his steps coming faster, as he went after the woman. Maybe it was just a ritual, he thought, shaking off the effect the display had caused. After all, in his line of work, he was used to strange rituals. Was this one any different?
As he hit the border of the forest, he was almost running, as he chased after Dune. His voice shouted out, "Wait! Don't you wanna know how to get back up?" an important question, in his mind, since she had just jumped off a sheer, 20 foot drop to get here in the first place...

To Dune, his question seemed rather strange but then she finally reminded herself of who he was and calmly she lifted part of her shirt up to reveal what lurked beneath the belt - a peculiar crossbow and a long and very thick loop of wiring. Having revealed to him one of her methods of transport she dropped her shirt back down once more and tapped her nose before continuing into the forest.
"My ways are significantly faster than walking or climbing." She replied softly as she moved back towards the ridge that she had dropped from previously - she had a feeling that she would find her sigil again if she went up that way anyway; having lost it when he tore her cloak from around her the last time she had leapt off the ridge.
"And they're easier - if you have the stomach for it." She added in a somewhat amused tone, indicating that she clearly didn't think he could survive the adrenaline rush that her little contraption would generate.

Roger gulped, and nodded slowly at Dune. His hands were twitching nervously, and his fingers were slowly curling, and uncurling as he realized, at least in part, what the woman was thinking of doing. He just believed that all she was doing, was going to fire up a bolt and an arrow into a tree, and have a rope to climb... not that he liked climbing, at all, and he was quite bad at it.
"um... well... I suppose I can..." he stammered out, as he followed after Dune. Besides, he needed to get back, as soon as possible, before he found out.

"I'm glad we've reached an agreement." She mused as she came to a halt by the cliff face, pulled the small crossbow from her belt and shot the bolt within it upwards towards the ridge itself. It seemed like an eternity and then the bolt seemed to jam itself tightly into something solid on the very ridge itself - seemingly satisfied, the woman wrapped her free arm around the unfortunate Roger's waist, tightened her grasp around her cross bolt and pressed another button on its side.
Immediately, the wire began to rewind and with a whoop of delight both Dune and her new passenger were flun upwards into the air by the powerful mechanisms within the crossbow - it paid to be part of her family sometimes, it truely did and she couldn't help but grin like an idiot as the momentum increased upon the approach of the ridge - she scarcely had time to shift her grasp so that she could press the third button which brought both to an abrupt halt just inches before the ridge edge itself.
"Well, didn't want to rip my hand off." She explained as she used what strength she had and began to push or at least aid Roger in gaining a good grasp on the edge of the cliff so that he could pull himself to safety...
