The most annoying item for me is that GOD DAMN FLIPPER!!!!!!! scream Messing with it just makes the fight go downhill. As far as the other items, i dont mind them. To me, you just have to learn how to use them. And for a fun idea, try turning everything off except for a couple of items. Try winning a match where there's nothing but bombs coming out. My favorite is a Giant/poison mushroom match.

I have bomb problems.
Whenever someone, no matter who it is, sets/grabs a bomb, I always run into it. ^^;

Super Scope. Not so much when it's charged up because that's predictable.
It's when you get stuck in the continuous bullets.
How I hate that so...

I hear ya there, man...
The regular laser gun is a similar case, although to a lesser extent.
In the hands of an experienced player, it can be a stream of continuous shots.

I haven't played with items on for over a year, but I really hated the fan. D: It was one of those items I always turned off when I did use them.

I turn off the hammer in SSBM,
not only does it completely strip an otherwise awesome character of their dignity
(come on, can you really imaging Ganondorf flailing around like a madman while that ridiculous music plays?),
but it's CRAZY ANNOYING when you grab it and the hammer head falls off,
leaving you swinging around a useless stick.
