Mostly, the only thing that turns me off
from games that I otherwise love
is the difficulty level.
Boss battles in RPG's
like Tales of Phantasia and Golden Sun,
or impossible platforming in the early Mega Man X games...

with the cute, colorful graphics and sidescrolling?

That game brings back memories...
...Yeah, that one definitely falls under the category of
"impossible platformer."

lotus~devil I love the FF series to pieces, but I hate the turn-based battle system. Especially in FFX-2 (It's so fast! gonk ) I agree! I've hardly played it because of that.

1. FFX....love it to pieces, but some of the sections in them are so aggravating...like with the Cloister of Trials that are in FFX....especially if you miss the special items...then you can't get Anima....which sucks since you can't do one of the Trials again....I think it's Bevelle....but I could be mistaken....I can't remember which one it is....
2. Legend of Dragoon.....I love the way it has you attack but that can be a bad thing with the counters....i always mess them up xd .....
3. FFIII....I'm not incredibly far but i love it already....but I'm stuck....I keep getting killed by a giant rat cuz I'm stuck in mini.....it's aggravating... xp
4. .hack (the first series) .....Love that one too....but I hate that if you die in a dungeon you have to do the whole damn thing over
But yeah....those are my main ones mrgreen

FF10. I love it. I do, it's one of my favorite RPGs.
I leveled up obsessively. I could kill a boss in three turns. That's how much I leveled those bastards up! I was about to reach Sin. I was finally gonna beat the game. A friend came over cause he needed my help on FF10. I told him his file was just so crappy he needed to start over. I then accidently saved his file OVER MINE.
I just...can't play it...I can't bring myself to start over again. I haven't touched it in over a year.

Lost Magic. That game is so...freakin'...hard!!! But the gameplay is so much fun, evn though I'm stuck right now getting annihilated by some crazy water wizard.

FFX-2, because I loved FFX and I really wanted to see how it ended, but I couldn't stand the dress sphere system and the way they divided it into chapters! I never finished it, couldn't stand it. stare

Evil Genius. Playing a 60's James Bond-esque supervillain with minions and an underground lair in a lost island is wicked awesome and makes you feel like a true evil genius. surprised
But damn, this game is so ******** slow! Training a force of 40 guards takes like half an hour, as well as gathering $300,000 that only last for 15-20 minutes or so. And your minions also move so slow. And you can't control them directly. xp

In a way, the first kind Hearts is both my fav and my hate. I love the way they combined certain world, the plot was wonderful, the effects were amazing, but at the same time... I've never yelled and swore more at any other game. HWo in their right mind programs Sephiroth to be THAT STRONG?!?!?! (At least I can laugh and say that he's voiced by the gay guy from N'Sync *Lance Bass*)

Srsly, those damn ogre-things just come back to life, and the stupid carriage keeps running around in circles... don't they realize that they'll be KILLED WITH FIRE eventually, if they don't run towards the gate instead!? So frustrating.
As much as I love it, It's incredibly frustrating.
Kingdom Hearts II.
way too easy, but I love it anyway... and it's 75% cutscene as well. But the characters are so loveable, and the villains are so sexy... ;_;
Also, Pokémon. Always the same story, evil team something-or-other waking legendaries or kidnapping pokémon, a coupla new pokémons in each game, girl or buy character with a rival or two... it's like the same story over and over, they just look different.
BUT I CAN'T HELP BUT LOVE IT.

Hmmmm Mass Effect..... I love you mass effect and I love you biware and the awesome RPG"s you produce...but crap...I hate your mapping systems...I have no idea where I'm supposed to go next...ever. ou are almost as bad as bethesda.
