Yeah, I know, but there are just so MANY of them and they're all IMPORTANT in some way. RJ's probably one of those people who never forgets a face. biggrin

I just started Crossroads of Twilight today. I started on New Spring in the summer of 2005, so it's kind of sad to think I've only this book and one more to get through and then I'm finished. It will be strange to not have a thick Wheel Of Time book under my arm at all times...

I have read (and loved) all the WoT books but after the 14th you get kind of confused and have to read them again. But anyway good books.

There's only 13....unless you're in one of the countries where they release the books in parts of 2....

I've read them all a couple of times now (ie: 4 or 5) (including the prequel, and the extended opening of book 1) and i must say. I Despise Rand.
he acts like he's so important.
i love How RJ slowly makes him less important (he's still pretty important) and all his underlings get to flourish a bit more.
but i hate how Perrin is barely mentioned in book 5+6. it sucks

Not sure when it will be out. Robert Jordan died on Sept 16th, when he was half way through witting the last book. sad He had recorded what should happen in the rest of the book though. So it's been told. Just needs written down. His son will finish the second half of the book.
I like the series though. It's good. I'm just waiting until I finish the series I'm reading now, to go and finish WoT series.

He's dead now? sad I'm so sad to hear that, he did good work. I hope that his son will be able to finish the book the way his father intended.

I am starting this series after thinking about it for around five years. However, I can't seem to decide what book to start with. Eye of the World or New Spring. What are your opinions on this?

I LOVE Wheel of Time! biggrin My uncle gave me the first book, and I read it inside of 3 days smile I've actually had to pace myself with these books so that I don't run out of books to read (a general problem with me). Besides, it takes awhile for the general awesomeness to sink in. Once it does, I try to find the next book. I'm on book four right now, and I haven't been able to pass the 50-page mark yet, even though I've had it for months... Just recently I hit page 50 (end of the first chapter) and I haven't had time to continue yet. I usually read when I don't have school- otherwise my grades drop from lack of me doing homework, taking notes and paying any attention to class. Not to mention sleep deprivation... Those 2- and 3-AM reading sessions aren't good for me...
Book three made me pretty upset with Rand, even though I kinda feel sorry for him. Still, if he actually ever told anyone what was going on with him- even part of it- it seems like maybe there'd be less problems in the story...
I love the way the entire series is so descriptive! I mean, clothing and everything! I can almost touch it, from the way it's all described... It's so pretty! heart
Personally, I'd suggest reading the series first, then the prequel- but since I haven't finished the series yet, and haven't read the prequel, I can't say which would be better to start with...

I have yet to read this series but it did get me reading more then Harry Potter. I read the potter books so much that mom told me to read wheel of time. I never got past the first page though. I think it was just out of stubborness, since when I went back to harry I thought that I should probaly read different books. I think my mom is both happy and sad at that, since while I love reading, I've gain many books.

this series is amazing all the way through and despite what everyone has said, Perrin is the best, get over it jk. I totally agree though as you get farther along Rand does get pretentious and annoying. as for the books there are 12 out in the hardback american printings and the last book is being split into 3 and written by a different author and are coming out in november of 2009, 2010, and 2011.

sooo has anyone read anything by Brian Sanderson, the guy who's writing the next WoT books?? any expectations from him?
I loved this series just because by the last few books, there's so much going on. And to me, it's all interesting to read about. One of my favorite characters is Egwene, not so much because I like her personality but because I like the scenes the involve her (the rebel camp)
But I really don't like Rand. I had to flog myself thru the first three or four books, even asking my friend "Does he ever stop being a whiner??" and then he was cool for a few books, and then I hated him again.
But at the same time, I like the idea of the main character being sort of loathsome. I watch alot of anime and read alot of manga, and it seems like the main characters are always these ridiculously nice guys that just need to talk the bad guy out of being evil.
so having a main character that's all about getting everyone to do what he says so he can go off and die for them is interesting to me.
