[.:Journal #9:..: Toddler:.] writing I look back at my last entry, and realize my horrible mistake. I love Art and by no means want to leave her here by herself, at the mercy of all the strange people at that place. I would never. She needs a sane stabilizing element in her life. That and I think she could feel how I was feeling and she hugged me when she got out of her bath.
Her speech is coming along wonderfully. But I keep recalling how quickly she changed from a baby to a toddler, and think that she should have at least some literary skills before she 'grows up' again, or fear she be left further behind then needed. Agreed she is growing faster then anyone her age could even think of. This is keeping in mind how fast kids grow anyway!
I picked up a few easy coloring books that introduce letters and simple sentences, and a few books. I figure for play time the color books would be fun and at night before she goes to bed I could read a few stories to her.
The moon phases are still effecting her, new moons she is hardly active, and during full moons I can't even get her to sleep! Most certainly boarding school is out of the question, but that doesn't mean home school isn't.

[.:Journal #10:..: Toddler:.] Storm The storm is shaking the windows and the doors it is so strong. Art hasn't phased back into whatever caused her to collapse that day but I'm still jumpy...
I mean one moment she was coloring, I look down to stir the food and look up and she's on the floor not moving! I turned off the burners and went to check on her, she was barely breathing, and running a high fever. I called the hospital because I couldn't drive with her like this, because I couldn't monitor her and the road.
We were only in the hospital an hour before she woke, but it still scared me. Art didn't seem to mind, it was almost as if she had just woken up from a good nap.
Anyway this storm is seriously bugging me, I'm in Art's room keeping her company until it passes. She hates storms.

[.:Journal #11:..: Toddler:.] Spins and Falls Art has been acting peculiar lately. She keeps falling. She hasn't fallen since her second week of walking. Mind her steps haven't solidified, but she still has enough balance and mind not to fall. I was about to call the doctors, thinking it had something to do with her passing out a few weeks ago, until I saw her just before she fell.
She was attempting to spin, which with her awkward steps obviously led to her falling over. She would always tear up but never cry. It was amusing. I helped her up and suggested the sofa for when she wanted to do weird things. Not like she really listens, I just think its cute that she is trying to dance. Maybe when she is a bit older I'll see if she wants to try lessons.
Until then I have to start thinking of ways to ensure she wont hurt herself in the process.

[. razz rivate RP #8:..: Toddler:.] Xerk/Art Xerk While mother was asleep...
On his strengthened legs, Xerksis carried himself away from the television he’d contented himself with for some time under his mother’s watch. But now he was bored with the cartoons, already having been taken on the adventure that Dora was now re-enacting. It was time for some exploration of his own.
The last he had been here, the roof had almost come crumbling in and left the place much in ruins. He figured it still might be now. So while his mother was not their to watch him, the mindflayer toddled along the halls, just looking for something low enough for him to get into. Artemis Art had just arrived. One good thing about her mom not stepping foot inside the HQ was that lately she went in by herself. Suddenly the drab building became a playground for the moon child. She was so happy that she could do almost anything she wanted. Almost meaning obviously not blow up the place.
As she entered today, she expected to see no one. Per usual the place was usually empty, But as she made her way to the hall way, walking slowly and still awkwardly, she noticed a recognizable purple and black head. Wanting to sneak up on the strange boy Art got down and crawled. When she was right up behind him she tugged his pants, immediately sitting to see his reaction. Xerk Xerksis was not easily snuck up on, but he was minorly distracted. One moment he was considering crawling over ruins into the kitchen, and the next he felt himself tugged. The boy made a muffled sound of surprise, wobbling a little at the sudden weight. Of course he was a bit confused, looking over his shoulder down at Artemis with his pupiless eyes. This caused him to turn a little, his finger jutting itself out at her accussingly.
"You!" He said simply, smirking a little. He remembered her- she'd kept him close as a baby when all this trouble started. However, he still didn't really know her name. Artemis "And you!" Art pointed back then giggled. "You big." She proceeded to stand up, after wobbling a bit she managed. She lifted a hand and made as if measuring his height against hers, "Real big." She looked about herself, "What you doing?"
The boy always gave her the creeps for some reason, but she really didn't mind. He was fun to be around, and now that he was bigger she bet he was much more fun. Xerk Big! Well if he hadn't been so sure about her presence before, he welcomed her now. When she stood to measure, the boy threw his shoulders back and held his head higher. Yes, he was getting big! People wouldn't have to look down at him anymore, and he could do more things then! Tall as he was for his age, though, he still wasn't big enough to cause much trouble without having to climb.
At her question, Xerk swept his hand in a gesture towards the ruins. " 'splorin'." Exploring. He could say the word well in his mind, like everything else. His throat, however, could not accommodate the sounds so readily. Maybe Artemis could come with him; he did like company. "Wanna come?" Artemis Art looked at the rubble in front of the kitchen. This had been one place she hadn't gone into since that day, and she smirked, "Ya!" she responded. She really did wanna see what it was like back there, it looked like fun with all the ups and downs.
She looked back at the boy, "I am Art." She said specifically, not sure that she had introduced herself yet to the boy, but she couldn't place his name, and her mom always said this was a good way to get someone's name. Xerk Good. The last thing he needed was someone trying to hold him back like his mother. Satisfied with her, he was about to head off when she presented her name. The boy blinked at her, storing it without a moment's thought. "Art. I am Surk-sees." The concept of a nickname had not been put to him, for everyone seemed to call him by his full name. Every now and then, his house mates might call him Squiddy, but he didn't understand the connection. He figured it was just another insult. But introductions finished, the boy moved again towards the rubble, taking the lead without a second thought before prodding the pile with a toe. Seemed alright. They could get over. Artemis "Ssssuca.." Art tried as quietly as she could manage. She shook her head when it sounded wrong, and tried again, following the boy as he prodded the pile. It looked stable to her, but she gathered that he had to at least check. "ssssurrrka." That sounded better but still not right. Plus it was only one part of his name.
She figured that for now she could call him that, "Xerk." she said one final time, certain she had it correct at last. She stepped on one rock, and grabbed at the ones above her and climbed up on top of them.
Xerk "Xerk, yeah." That'd have to do. He'd accept that. Mouth-words were such horrible things, but no one would hear him otherwise. He understood his own name was a bit hard, not being able to say it into more than his head.
He grabbed on and hauled himself up the rubble, kicking up with gusto until he was practically laying on top of the mound. And over he peered, into the smashed remains of the kitchen, deciding how he would pick his way down while he waited for Artemis to catch up. "Smelly in there." He noted. Artemis Art tilted her head, the concept of smelly was new to her, but she couldn't exactly judge, she still had a few more rocks to climb. She lifted herself up, her feet kicking behind her as they attempted to push against something of substance. Her arms felt a little tired once she had finished scaling the boulder and was next to Xerk, but she didn't find it uncomfortable. In fact she wouldn't mind just going up and down all day.
But when she did reach the top she grabbed her nose hard, almost afraid it was going to abandon her for the smell, "Kirei ja nai..." she babbled one her moms sayings when she found Arts room was a mess from her toys and crayons. She looked over at Xerk curious as to whether he wanted to continue in or abandon the wreak for the sake of exploring elsewhere. Xerk A brow was arched at Art's foreign words, but nothing much more. It sounded simply like something he hadn't yet learned- the tone and movement was enough to guess what she meant by it, though. Wrinkling his nose a little, Xerksis swung his leg over the rubble and began to descend down the other side. Despite the warning of the singed smell, he planned to have a look anyway. There was a mere expectant glance up at Artemis with eyes that began to glow dimly in the dark. She would come or she wouldn't, but it was pretty clear that he wanted her to.
Artemis It was a strange look that Xerk had given her but it was enough to make clear that he wasn't going to give her a verbal ok. Not that she had given him a verbal inquiry. She watched as he went down.
Shortly after Art began her own decent behind Xerk, her feet carefully prodding the rocks below her as she slowly made her way down. It was faster then up, but the closer she got to the bottom the smellier it became. Her main concern was that she couldn't tell how far Xerk was in front of her, and she wasn't sure if her next step would be on his hand. This caused her to move slower. Xerk That certainly might have dampened the mood, to step on his hand. However, Artemis wasn't about to make the mistake, for not only was the boy ahead, but he had also misstepped on a piece of loose rubble. Luckily enough, he didn't fall very far, grunting with indignation as his rear hit the ground. He had other things to think about right now, though, and after pushing himself up and brushing off, he obligated his attention to his surroundings. Unbeknownst to him, his eyes were quickly adjusting to the minimal light in the kitchen ruins, not having the strain of a pupil to deal with. He waited for Artemis, if not a bit impatient, his vision favoring the stove for the moment. "Tink thar is rats?" He implored her, sparked with sudden interest. He might be interested to lay his hands on a rodent, yes... Artemis "Was that?" Art asked as she got her self onto the ground. However her footing wasn't stable enough and she ended up plopping on the ground as well. But after much practice of this Art was quickly back up on her feet quickly. She looked down at Xerk and then over to where he was looking.
It was a stove...what was interesting about that? She let her eyes go around the room as she attempted to find something she could play with when she spotted it. The white container was something she had always wanted to look into. But due to her moms strict strange rules Art was never allowed anywhere near it. "Look." she pointed so Xerk could see the wonderful thing. Xerk "A rat?" Xerksis' eyebrows furrowed as he thought of how he might explain it, gingerly pulling on his lower lip with his teeth. There were only pictures for him, and he could only share those with Yashima. He wasn't allowed to do so with anyone else, since they usually got sick from it. "Is furry and go 'skweek skreee'. Like a... mouse? Ham-ster? Big, though."
When Artemis pointed, he had to look, following her finger to the aforementioned container. "S'called a frig-er-gator." Well, that wasn't quite right, but he wasn't about to correct himself. Attention successfully drawn, the boy led the way into the dark towards the refrigerator, frowning at the handle being so far up. "C'mere. Help me pull, now." He instructed her, his fingers digging into the side of the contraption, ready to yank it open.
Artemis Art trotted up after him, careful of her footing so that she wouldn't fall again. Her mind was going over the new information he had given her, trying to picture a rat and remember the name of the big white thing.
Following Xerk through the darkness she kept her eyes on the big white thing that grew bigger as they approached. Xerk went ahead of her and started to claw at the door. "C'mere. Help me pull, now." he called back. "Kay," she called back. Knowing he probably needed her help, she went foreword and knelt down and dug her fingers in and pulled. With both of their weight it easily gave, sending Art, who had a very unstable position tumbling back.
Xerk There was a pause as he watched Artemis go tumbling back, then came a soft snicker. Silly girl. She looked like she'd be alright, though. Now that it was open, and light was streaming dimly out through the crack, Xerk flung the door open wide--
And promptly gagged from the strong smell released. Covering his nose and mouth with his hands, the boy gazed with wonder at all the molding, curdling commodities withheld in the refrigerator. Clean-up obviously hadn't yet reached this far. Giving a soft 'oooo', the toddler shift his weight and concentrated, pulling at the air. Slowly, one of the lower drawers began to slide out, revealing the rotted head of what might have been lettuce along with other various poor excuses for veggies. Artemis Art didn't want to stand up as the rotten stank made its way to her nose. She quickly held it as she got herself into a sitting position. "Stinky!" She whined, but yet couldn't help but be amazed at the strange kind of treasure that was hidden inside. Soon enough curiosity got the best of her and she joined Xerk by the open door, one hand slowly entering the chill of the big white 'refrigerator' as she carefully tried inspecting the warped lettuce with her hand. "woooow..." Xerk Yes, stinky, but it was just something they would have to deal with if they wanted to inspect these... treasures of sorts. Of course that head of lettuce would crackle and all but moosh under her touch, squishy with obvious decay. "Look, bugs!" Exclaimed the mindflayer as small black flies came swarming up from the disturbance. It was all interesting to him. After all, he'd never seen bugs in his refrigerator, and was wondering how the bugs had managed to make it in. Reaching up, he tugged on a jug of milk, which looked more like cottage cheese by now. Artemis Art shook, somehow she felt tingly in a bad 'omg something is crawling on me' kinda . As such her whole upper body crinkled together in a desperate attempt to protect her neck and face as her hands batted everything in sight. She then had the brilliant idea that in order to squash the bugs she needed to hit them with something bigger. She grabbed some random veggies from the refrigerator and began to fling them every which way.
Not noticing that a few made their way towards Xerk too. In the end it also didn't matter that the veggies were probably worse then the flies, which grew in number.

[.:Scrapbook #10..: Toddler:.] Japan Ari sat the phone down on the stand as she sighed. She looked over at Art who was playing with her wolf stuffed animal. She looked so happy, but Ari had to do this. She picked up the phone and made a call that she didn't want to make but had to. The line rang over and over and was eventually picked up. "Yes, Hello, this is Ariel Mason, we met a bit ago?"
Art sat down her wolf and grabbed her wand as her mommy walked over. She giggled and waved her hands like she was a baby again. She looked so cute, "Mommy mommy," She called. Ari smiled and picked up the precious child and brought her over to the couch.
"Sweetie," Ari started and found it hard to continue, "The big men need mommy in Japan for a bit," She knew Art couldn't possibly understand what this meant, so she repeated in a little bit more simplistic words, "So Mommy needs to go away for a bit, I can't take you with me because I'll be too busy to make sure you are taken care of." Ari stopped, it was hard to continue, especially with Art's eyes how they were. "I know sweetie I don't want to go either, but I have to."
Art began to squirm, attempting to get away from her mom, and boy was Ari happy that Art seemed to have lost her ability to vanish. "Shh, Art, shh it'll be fine." Ari attempted to console the child, but Art continued to shake her head.
"No no no no!" She shouted over and over.
"Art it wont be too bad." Ari attempted once again over the screams of her little child, "Look sweetie, remember Kishi? She's going to be with you," Art didn't stop screaming or squirming, so Ari held her tightly against her tears streaming down her own cheeks, "I would never leave you alone Artemis," Art slowly calmed down.
Ari wasn't sure if it was because Art finally understood that this wasn't permanent and trusted Ari to return to her as fast as she could manage, or that Art had simply worn herself out. Either way she was fast asleep, and Kishi would be here shortly.
Ari put art in her crib and went to her room to pack, normally she didn't mind business trips, she just wished that Art was older and could join her, but the fact of the matter was that she wasn't, and toddlers need a lot of attention, more then Ari could manage if she was at the main branch in Tokyo Japan.
Right now really just wanted to hit her boss.

[.:Journal #12:..: Toddler:.] Japan I feel so weak, every night I have nightmares. I call Kishi and Artemis frequently, but despite everything being fine, I know in my heart something isn't.
This is a new feeling for me, for someone who grew up traveling from place to place. Is this was roots feel like? Precious and life giving yet the pain of separation is almost too much.
I am working hard so that I get home that much sooner, its the only thing really keeping me going at this point. My mind is so tired of working in at least three or four languages I figured I'd better write something in one just for myself.
I miss Artemis, I shall be home soon. Soon. That's what I hope anyway.

[.:Quest #2:..: Toddler /Kid:.] The Fever Art had a fever. It was undeniable for what it was, over a hundred.
The cold and strangely scented halls of the hospital gave no comfort to Ari as she paced outside the room Art was sleeping in. If truly it was only just a sleep Ariel would have no reason to worry, but Art was not waking up. The Doctors had assured Ari that it was not a coma, but what good did that do when it might as well have been one?
She’d been out for a week since then. Ari couldn’t rest. What was going on?
She thought back to when it happened….
Ari was offering Art some tomato soup since fall had come and it was cold enough out to make it. Art had cheerfully accepted and was running over to the kitchen when she seemed to stop. It was as if something had hit her.
She wobbled for a moment her eyes closing slowly until she feinted on the ground.
Ari dropped the tomato soup, spilling it all across the floor as she ran over to Art. The first thing she noticed was how warm the child was, her breathing feint. She tried to nudge her awake, but Art did not respond. She lightly patted arts face, “Artemis, come on, open your eyes” she whispered hopping to get the child to respond.
After much effort the shock grew and Ari became scared. She laid Art down on the couch and went for the phone and dialed 911.
“Please state your name and the type of emergency” The operator answered.
“Ariel Mason, my daughter just feinted and is not waking up.”
“How old is your daughter?”
Ari knew better than to answer truthfully that her daughter who appeared to be six was actually one, or maybe 2….
“About Six.”
“About?” The operator asked.
“She’s adopted; her exact birthday is unknown to me.”
The operator seemed to accept this and continued, “Where are you” Ari gave the address, “An ambulance will be over right away, please stay on the line so that we can further help you.”
Ari agreed and sat on the couch and moved art over so that her head was on Ari’s lap. The phone was almost plastered to her ear.
She waited. The small amount of time that she sat there dragged on, to the point where Ari wanted to ask the operator if the ambulance was lost or something.
Then she heard it. At first she thought it was her ears tricking her but then it got louder. Sirens called out in miraculous hope of arriving. Ari wanted to cry. She kissed arts forehead and slipped out from under her and went to open the door.
A group of men in white came in with a stretcher of bright yellow and brought it into the room. As a group they carefully picked up the child and began to strap her in.
One man came over to Ari and began to ask her a series of questions, how old was Art, what was her blood type, what had she been doing before this happened, the usual. The man told her to grab her coat keys and identification so they could leave. Ari ran to do so and followed the men out locking her door behind her.
It felt surreal. Like she didn’t want this to be happening so much so that she almost questioned if she was dreaming as she stepped into the small ambulance, her daughter laying still and strapped down in front of her.
The Ambulance blared its sirens and begun to travel to the nearby hospital. The pauses and breaks that the ambulance had to make were due mostly in part to idiots who didn’t move out of the way. Ari wanted to scream at them “Don’t you know a little girl is in here!”
She hated it when other cars wouldn’t move over normally, right now she wanted to murder each and every one for keeping her child from being able to reach the hospital.
When they reached the hospital they were ushered in and as soon as they were whisking Art off to be looked at by a doctor, Ari was being grabbed by a nurse.
And for the tenth time that night Art was asked “What was your child doing to maybe trigger this event?”
“I don’t know! I called her over for dinner, she got up and came over and feinted in between,”
“Anything we ought to know about the situation?” The nurse asked calmly.
“She was warm.” Was All Ari could come up with.
It turned out that “warm” was a fever. And so far, it was the only thing they could diagnose as wrong.

[.:Quest #2:..: Toddler /Kid:.] The Dreams Pt. 1 The summer sun licked her skin as she lay there wondering...What would the goddess do?
Wait... Goddess?
Art shook her head, she felt around but it was... wrong somehow. She blinked, attempting to open her eyes but the harsh clear sun was to strong for her to immediately open them.
But once they were open, the small girl wanted to close them again. The grand marble staircase and sandstone building wasn't home. The area around her wasn't home. It also wasn't clear, blurred as if deep in a dream...
She began to sob, softly at first, but stronger....
"Hush, shh, it'll be alright Artemis..."
Art stopped, her tears drying at the shock of hearing her name, mom? Frantic she looked around, Where was she?
"Mom!"
"Mom!" She called, entering the building.
She heard the voice again.
"Hush Artemis.... shhh... daddy will be home soon." Art stopped. daddy? Art didn't have a daddy...
Her daddy.... She had heard about daddy's... but for all she could remember only mommy's...One that left her....and one she couldn't find!
"Mommy!" She called out again, wanting to cry...
But before she could she heard another’s tears... crying... a baby?
She wanted her mommy...
She slipped onto the marble, and began to cry.
"Mistress! Priestess from the temple of Istar are here to see Artemis."
A woman spoke through a door, her flowing robes were gorgeous, but nothing like that of the woman who emerged. Her dark skin was in direct contrast to the brilliant white and silver of the garb that seemed to adore her body as she wore it. The gems about the robe and her hair marked her as wealthy.
But it was her dark hair that Ari noticed first. "Mommy?" She whispered a few tears escaping... Somehow, this woman looked and felt like her mother...
"MOMMY!" she shouted and ran foreword to give the woman a hug. Only to pass through her as if she was nothing but mist.
No one had moved or changed.
Then she noticed what the woman was holding. A small baby with pale skin and dark hair, wrapped in fine blue silk...
Somehow Art felt like she was spilt as she gazed at the child. Who was it?
"Artemis? Surely the priestess aren't corrupting women as young as this?" the woman spoke.
And it clicked. Art was the baby... but how? She remembered none of this, and yet, somehow did...
"They say it is urgent mistress, the lord arrived with them, please, come this way."
"she doesn't want to upset them, and risks upsetting the woman she serves instead." a voice entered her head.
The woman followed the maid, and Artemis found herself in a new room, blue in contrast to all the gold of before, but still blurry.
The mans face was blank, he had no eyes ears mouth or nose, no matter how hard Art tried to look.
"Areia, be reasonable!" This man shouted.
"You know I can't have any more children Theos!" The beautiful woman from before screamed, clutching at the child.
The maid was there, but so were three women, dressed in very little covered by robes. They were the clearest objects in the room, Art was curious as to why.
She snuck over to them as the man and woman argued.
"Would you risk our other children dying for your greed? Or the Goddess just taking her anyway? She doesn't deserve your selfishness Areia!"
"You don't care about the Goddess or even Artemis!" The woman screamed, "These tramps offered you money didn't they? Is your daughter really worth any sum they can give you?"
"Be reasonable!" The man shouted and tugged the child from the woman’s arms.
Art stopped near the women in robes to watch. The baby was crying again, unhappy for being pulled and tugged so harshly.
He walked over to the women and handed the child to them, "I hope this appeases the goddess."
"You did well lord Theos." The one who took the child spoke, her voice strangely familiar. Light gathered around the women but the man and the other woman faded as if sand, into the distance. Fading....
