Ari sat the phone down on the stand as she sighed. She looked over at Art who was playing with her wolf stuffed animal. She looked so happy, but Ari had to do this. She picked up the phone and made a call that she didn't want to make but had to. The line rang over and over and was eventually picked up. "Yes, Hello, this is Ariel Mason, we met a bit ago?"

Art sat down her wolf and grabbed her wand as her mommy walked over. She giggled and waved her hands like she was a baby again. She looked so cute, "Mommy mommy," She called. Ari smiled and picked up the precious child and brought her over to the couch.

"Sweetie," Ari started and found it hard to continue, "The big men need mommy in Japan for a bit," She knew Art couldn't possibly understand what this meant, so she repeated in a little bit more simplistic words, "So Mommy needs to go away for a bit, I can't take you with me because I'll be too busy to make sure you are taken care of." Ari stopped, it was hard to continue, especially with Art's eyes how they were. "I know sweetie I don't want to go either, but I have to."

Art began to squirm, attempting to get away from her mom, and boy was Ari happy that Art seemed to have lost her ability to vanish. "Shh, Art, shh it'll be fine." Ari attempted to console the child, but Art continued to shake her head.

"No no no no!" She shouted over and over.

"Art it wont be too bad." Ari attempted once again over the screams of her little child, "Look sweetie, remember Kishi? She's going to be with you," Art didn't stop screaming or squirming, so Ari held her tightly against her tears streaming down her own cheeks, "I would never leave you alone Artemis," Art slowly calmed down.

Ari wasn't sure if it was because Art finally understood that this wasn't permanent and trusted Ari to return to her as fast as she could manage, or that Art had simply worn herself out. Either way she was fast asleep, and Kishi would be here shortly.

Ari put art in her crib and went to her room to pack, normally she didn't mind business trips, she just wished that Art was older and could join her, but the fact of the matter was that she wasn't, and toddlers need a lot of attention, more then Ari could manage if she was at the main branch in Tokyo Japan.

Right now really just wanted to hit her boss.

Kishi was nervous , it wasn't because she didn't have experience with kids, she'd watched enough other wand children grow and babysat prince and duke enough that she knew she could handle pretty much any child. No the reason for her discomfort was because she had not seen Artemis since the incident in between and she wondered if looking at the girl would bring back memories.

Still she'd promised to help Ari so she'd bare with any unpleasantness and hope for a good time. At the very least being secluded with only a small child would hopefully allow her to push her hormonal needs away with stronger maternal ones.

Wearing a simple outfit that allowed her wings and tail moving room but looked appropriate for childcare Kishi knocked on Ari's door. Waiting for an answer she took a deep breath to calm her nerves and let her grip on her wand loosen. She'd come otherwise unarmed not feeling right about bringing blades into a house where she was responsible for a child ( despite what she may do at zah's place).

Ari heard the knock at the door. She picked up her small trusted green carry on and pulled her jacket on. SHe left her room quickly checking that everything was neat and tidy.

As she passed Arts door, she cracked it slightly to ensure that the child was indeed still resting. Smiling at the quiet figure lit up by the moon, Ari closed the door softly and proceeded to the living room and the front door.

"Hai hai!" Ari answered, not to loud to ensure Art wasn't woken. She quickly undid the deadbolt and chain locks, and opened the door to the sight of Kishi. Indeed the small child she had met had grown up, and Ari smiled brightly. "Thank you for coming on such short notice." She let Kishi into the house as she checked for her spare keys in a drawer. "My plane doesn't leave for another four hours," Ari admitted, "But I wanted plenty of time to get there, if you had any questions." She handed the keys over to the teen. "The large one is for the door, the small silver one is for the balcony, and the small bronze one is for the mail box." She pointed out, before going to the table to pick up a few pieces of paper.

"These are emergency numbers, My Cell is on top, but my work and my room in Japan are both international numbers so don't use them unless you need to. Her doctor's number is after that and then my mom's, if you have any plans you can't break or bring Art to feel free to call her I've already let her know the situation and she can watch Art for a bit, but she cant watch her all the time, so keep that in mind. Also if you have any basic problems with Art she knows what to do."

She took a breath, "and then is the land lady, I've already called her to let her know you are staying here, not to bother you, and that I will still be sending payments, but if there is a problem you can call her. And then the basic numbers." She pulled out the second paper, "Here are some notes on Art, her quirks and how to deal with them." She pulled out the third paper, "And these are the rules that I want to go over with you."

She offered a seat at the table to Kishi, just now realizing that she had been rambling and hadn't given the poor girl the opportunity to speak.

Kishi has listened carefully and nodded at all the correct intervals while absorbing the information Ari was giving her. This was quite different from babysitting for Thae who was generally happy if she returned to a house in one piece with no dead charges. not that Kishi was irresponsible , Thae was simply more lax in her policy. of course in a way she'd known Kishi much longer than Ari so that probably accounted for part of it.

She sat at the table and wound her tail around her wand letting the long appendage hold the obsidian staff while she folded her hands on the table. Kishi was really starting to like having a tail. She'd wanted one for quite some time ever since she had seen and pet Xtol's. " Ok I'm ready for the rules. " With all the information she'd already been given Kishi wondered what could be left.

Ari smiled and sat down as well and showed the paper to Kishi, "Art needs to be in bed by nine. She wont like it, but I'm trying to break her nocturnal habits. She likes baths so if you give her a bath first she's more likely to actually sleep. No more then an hour of TV a day. She needs to eat her veggies so give her less of everything else at first until those are done. Crayons are only allowed on the plastic sheet, so if she wants to color put that out." Ari smiled up at Kishi, "Everything else I'm sure you are aware of, no boys no parties ect, so they are just minor notes, but these are the weird ones."

Ari pulled out her wallet, and handed Kishi five twenties, "This should be enough for now, I'll send you more every so often until I return if I'll be more then the two weeks they told me." She stood up from the table taking a glance at her watch, "Art is currently sleeping and she shouldn't wake up until morning, but just in case sleep light, and be ready for when she realizes I'm actually gone." she looked at Kishi and smiled, "Have any questions before I go?"

Kishi mentally frowned at Ari's idea of breaking art's nocturnal habits. as far as she was concerned art had ever reason to be nocturnal and it was probably in her best interest to be that way. Still Ari was the mother here and she made the rules.

When Ari was done talking Kishi quickly thought then nodded " I have a bath wash that i use myself it's got lavender and some other stuff in it that induces sleep? would it be ok to use this on art to help her or would you prefer I stick with what she's already used to?"

Ari smiled slightly as if trying to suppress a smirk, "Sure, if she'll let you that should be fine. Suddenly the house phone began to ring and Ari went over to answer it.

"Yes this is Ariel, yes, thats correct, alright thanks." She hung up the phone and sent a sad smile towards Kishi, "That's my ride, they are out front waiting for me." She went over and on instinct hugged the girl, "Thanks for watching my baby," She pulled away and taking her key with her she waved, "Take care!" and left, locking the door behind her purely by habit.

It took only a few seconds after the fact before a shriek by no godly means erupted from Artemis's room.

Kishi shook her head as the wail came from Art's room. Guardians really had no clue how strongly bonded their children were to them especially at young ages. Considering her past it was no wonder Art was unhappy about this, still Kishi would do her best to mollify the toddler.

Following the distressed cries Kishi walked into the other girl's room and over to the crib.Lookign down at the crib she smiled reasurringly " Shh it's ok Art remember me/ I sang to you in the library and you fell asleep." Kishi had been close to arts current age then and art had only been a baby but it was possible the girl remembered her. she probably remebered her from the in between adventure but she doubted the girl wanted to remember that.

Art wriggled around in this strange persons arms as she screamed her head off. The voice was familiar, but it wasn't her moms and right now that is what mattered.

When wiggling did nothing she grabbed onto the shirt the teen was wearing, not minding if she grabbed anything else in the process as she attempted to pull herself out of the hold.

She was getting tired tho, and with each struggle her efforts became weaker until she was sleeping once again against Kishi's body.

" Well at least you didn't try to pull my hair or eat it" Kishi murmured and she swayed back and forth rocking the girl gently. It was a bit odd being pinched at and groped accidentally by the girl but she hadn't meant Kishi any harm and Kishi found it hard to hold anything against children.

Carefully Kishi sat down on the floor on the room then extended and folded her wings around them. It made no sense to move now that Art was comfortable and the enclosed space should limit how many intruding sounds reached the young child's ears. Kishi herself could use the time to meditate and work on holding her wings in a fixed position. When Art woke inthe mornign she'd play soem games with girl and perhaps entertain ehr while using her hypnosis.

Despite the weird sleeping position Art slept the remainder of the night and then some, waking about ten in the morning to a strange woman holding her. Her throat still hurt, but she wanted to know who this person was.

She seemed familiar, the black silver tipped hair, wing and tail. But she seemed to big to be anyone she remembered. Her hair was pretty though, and art loved how the day's sunlight sparkled in it.

So as any toddler would do she grabbed it and pulled her hand through it as she tried to figure out the best any toddler could of escaping to get to her mom.

Kishi snapped back to reality from her semi quasi sleep at the small tugs. " Morning Artemis, how about we trade my hair for some breakfast." She kept her voice soft and pleasant not demanding her hair back or showing any displeasure at the girls play. Today would probably set the tone for the whole time she spent here so she needed to keep Art feeling happy about her.

Art started at the lady for a second, then the silver eyes flashed in her mind with a higher version of the voice that was talking with her, She smiled and shouted, "Kishi!"

Kish nodded " Yep I'm glad you remember me." It was good to know that despite how she'd changed she was still recognizable and liked. " Now what about breakfast?" she prodded.

Art thought for a bit, while it seemed impossible for Kishi to age this quick, the thought was easily lost on such a young girl. Instead thoughts of food raced threw her mind. A hungry toddler, she screamed out what any child her age would, "Eggo waples!" She began to bounce around in anticipation.
