It's a Date! - part 1 The phone call Riiiing, riing, riiing! *picks up phone* Hello?"Hi? Candice!?!" "Hi!!!" Haven't hear from you... get sucked into a torpal blackhole again?""Well, Dad made me get a job, but that doesn't matter! THE COOLEST THING EVER HAPPENED!!! Guess guess guees!!" "WHAT WHAT WHAT!!!!!" Candice jumps up and down while on the phone."I JUST MADE THOMAS FLY FASTER!!! AND BLOW THINGS UP! SO SO COOL! And Dad says it's ok and....SO MUCH better than computer simulation and Thomas is really happy with me!" He was a teenager, but he sounded about 10 again. "Wha!!!!" Candice paused for a moment as her mind raced "How did you do that?!? You a super too?! That is so awesome!!! You can go to school with us now!!"Ace "YEAH! If Dad ever lets me, Iw as gonna go into work with him tomorrow, but he said I wasn't allowed. I don't think he wants me by you. But that's ok, we'll see each other around, and when Dad doesn't think I'm gonna....spontaneously combust..." he had to slow down for those words, "then it'll all be normal again! SUPER NORMAL!" Spriggin "Duuuuuude!!! Why not?! That is so unfair! I mean it's not like something bad is gonna happen. Hey! Now you might actually be as good as me." She joked before turning a little more serious. "So... ya figured out what it is or ya don't know yet?" She was trying to think about what clues might have surfaced when they had been hanging out together. Ace "Dad isn't even gonna go into work tomorrow! I'm like a PRISONER in the house! He's like....like afraid or something, even though Uncle Charles says I've probably had these powers unknown for some time... It's like...like...I can make Supers be even MORE Super!!" "I made Thomas more Super anyway," Ace chuckled a little, "He...uh...lost control of an energy orb..." Spriggin "Thats it!!! I walways said I could do things better when I'm around you! It's like you can like make supers 10x SUPER!" that got Candice to think, "I wonder if it stacks... OH! remember when I was having trouble pulling other people through walls but I could always do that with you... I bet thats why!" Ace "Yeah! That must be it! Dad says I can't practice with you, but he NEVER said we couldn't do the things we always did before. So....we'll just keep being normal, ok? This is the best!! Maybe we can be heroes together or something!" Spriggin "We so need to meet up like asap and see what you can do..." Candice was so happy considering she knew that was what Ace had always wanted. "I mean... lets go see that new movie in town... you know the ninja one." She realized Joshua had just come in from work and didn't want to give anything away in case he told Uncle Jim. Ace "Yeah, ok! " Ace ran across the house, "Dad! Hey, Dad! Can Candice and me....no? I didn't even ask.... But....Dad, you're being SO LAME!! Yessir, I'm sorry.. Yessir. I will. Ok...Candice? Dad says not right away. I don't what the means....What? With you? You'd go to the move with us? Candice! Dad just said he'd go to a ~movie~!" Jim said that sort of thing, but usually bailed out on it unless Ace really pushed it. He almost never volunteered it though, "With Mr. Josh too? But if YOU'RE not at work and HE'S not at work....Oh, ok... Uhm....So, Candice, uhm..." Ace just got really confused. What had he just been convinced to do? Spriggin Candice snickered as she heard the conversation on the other end of the phone... An outing with all four of them, that sounded fun... but she was a little bummed that they wouldn't be able to practice anything... wait... it was dark in the movie, maybe they could plan something... her cogs started turning. "Awesome! I'll get tell Joshua! It's about time they both get out of the house and not in the office!" She waved Joshua over to snag his attention before he got lost into his computer. Ace "Shouldn't you ask Mr. Josh before telling him he's going?" Ace asked hesitantly, it was always obvious when his father was around, because he suddenly grew a brain. He was warming up to the idea though, "This is going to be so much fun! Josh likes the funniest movies, and notices the weirdest things and Dad's....like on a mini-vacation! He took off half of today already...This is so awesome!" Spriggin "Nah... Joshua won't mind, he's been meaning to take me out to dinner for a while. Eating in get's lame after a while." Candice wondered if she should put on her new pants and then chuckled to herself. "Hey! I'm gonna go tell him now, can we teleport to your place? Dunno if it'll be easier then meeting up half way..." This way they could at least keep the parentals/guardians out for a little longer than if they all could leave at different times. The SUPER COOLEST ACE EVER!! NYAH!! "Uh...Not tonight...it's getting late already. Tomorrow. When we don't have ANYTHING to do, because Dad is being LAME and....Ow!" the phone clattered to the ground, but Ace's voice was still very clear, "OH YOU ARE SO ON! Hey, Candice? Still there? Hey! I have to go, I have some business to take care of.... Tomorrow. I'll send you an email for times! Or you send me one! Heyheyhey---" Click.

It's a Date! - part 2 Ace The following day, they were to be normal and drive --- because the budget on the transporters was WAY to high and Jim had had finance people on his butt about it, so now he was on everyone else's butt on it too. Ace was bouncing in the front seat of the car at first, and jumped out of the car to let Josh up front when they pulled in. He opened both back doors, jumped in on one side and close the door, and stuffed his seatbelt back on. Jim laughed, "It's a good thing they were waiting, or I would make you get your lazy, uncivil tail out there and knock on their door!" "I oppose door cruelty." Ace spoke solemnly as the two came up. He turned to Candice as she came in, "Do YOU oppose door cruelty?" Spriggin Candice was quick on the uptake. "Oh of course I do! I just walk right through them so they don't even have to move on their hinges." She nodded all serious until she grinned at Ace, wiggling onto the seat and putting her own seatbelt on. She was wearing her favorite jeans and a white sleaveless top covered over with a jade green tank top that had a selection of dice printed on it with the words 'Choose your weapon' under them. She had come up with A Plan and couldn't wait to tell Ace but first she had to catch him somewhere with non of the adults within earshot. Not only were they all going to be hanging out together which was cool but Ace and her were back up to their old antics, Candice couldn't wait! Ace Well, we're not all as specially equipped as you are to handle the doors with such compassion, but...." "Ace?" "Yeah?" "Knock it off." "WAAHH!! Did you hear that!?! He tells me to knock it off! The. POOR. DOORS!!!" Jim turned to give a look to Joshua. He had tried to avoid what had just happened. How did he just get his words turned back on him like that? Spriggin That set Candice off in a round of giggles as listened to the interchange. She missed hanging out with everyone and this brought back so many grate memories. After catching her breath she eyes Ace and gave him a quick poke to get his attention. Candice opened up her cellphone and quickly typed out as small message. *when we r in movie, I phse in 2 armrst & we can c if easier w/ u hlpng.* Watching Joshua and Jim she relaxed as they started their own conversation, not noticing the teens behind them.Joshua gave an apologetic smile towards Jim and tied not to laugh at the banter. He had to admit, it was nice getting out of the house and he had promised to take Candice to that movie any way. This way he would have another adult to converse with when the movie proved to be more for teens but then again, who knew, maybe the movie would be good enough to attract his attention. The Great, the Magnificent.... Aaaaccceeee! Ace's eyes lit up, he gave the adults a furtive glance, then reached over then and there to touch Candice's hand. Why wait until the movies? Both their fathers were far too unobservant to see what was under their noses most the time, both the teenagers knew that. Jim had relaxed, and went on talking about mundane things with Josh, keeping his promise to Ace not to talk about work. Spriggin Well it was darker in the movie but he did have a point. Candice gave the signal they used to use when everything was set up and ready and, making sure not to touch Ace, she pushed her finger through the car seat. Feeling the tingle and concentrating on the sensation so she could remember how hard/easy it was she wiggled her finger around before pulling it back out, not leaving a single mark in the car seat. She then looked down at her belly and groaned slightly. It was harder to phase just one part of her body and her seatbelt had tightened across the seat. She was going to need Ace's help if she was going to get that undone without getting it stuck inside her... Damn... why didn't she remember that? Candice stayed phased out so that he could easily pull it out of the way. Ace Ace gave Candice a funny look at first, then realized the problem. Laughing silently, he unclipped the belt and leaned over to push it off. "What are you doing back there?" "Uh...her hair got caught in seatbelt. Trying to help!" Ace took a breath, then blinked. He'd just lied to his father without thinking twice about it. He cast a worried glance at Jim, who at the moment had to focus on traffic problems. Well, he wasn't Uncle Charles. Unlike these two men, he seemed to notice EVERYTHING... He sat back and looked at Candice. And now? Spriggin A look of relief of not getting caught showed on Candice's face before she started phase two of the operation... no pun intended. Grabbing onto Ace's hand she took her other one and did the same thing with her finger. Making sure that this time it was only her finger that phased. If this worked then Ace definitely helped her powers, or at least her concentration and would be a successful trial until they could getting into a more open situation. Pushing her finger into the seat once more she wiggled it around and noticed with a surprising look on her face that it was much easier... not only that but she could feel the seatbelt was still tight against her waist. With a wide grin at Ace she took her finger out and showed it to him while trying not to exclaim out loud. Ace Finished or not, Ace squeezed Candice's hand in excitement, putting his energy where he could right now. This was too awesome! His mind raced with all the cool things he could do....or help people do....like...help train with people like Candice, or maybe Super awesome Supers beyond the scope of words or.... This was the best dream come true EVER!! Amirynth Candice was jittery all the way to the theater and would giggle along with Ace every now and again. When they all got there she grabbed hold of his hand and they raced to the doors, Candice almost pulling him through before remembering they were in a public place. Choosing the correct way to go through a door she then ran her fingers lightly through the wall, making sure to be unobserved as she practiced, holding tightly to Ace's hand through out. This was another test as usually she couldn't stay insubstantial for so long and when Candice had reached to 200 counts in her brain she was beaming.
Joshua knew something was up and wondered about it before realizing it was probably just that Candice needed to get out of the house almost as much as he did. While he wasn't the most social of beings, he hadn't been around the general public in a long time. A stab of consternation flew through him as he spotted his charge hurtle towards the door but he forced his heart to slow back down when she remembered to open before going through. He turned to Jim and gave a wry grin... AriyaLauna Ace allowed himself to be dragged along, and started chattering at one point about the movie, who was in it, what it might be like. He had grown up on high action movies, and then his dad being all solemn about the true dangers of it, so as a kid he'd grown quite cynical to the fantasies of Hollywood, and he as he chatted, he was wondering how realistic it would be, or if the heroes would even be panting after running around. Jim completely missed Josh's look. He had stopped dead, watching the two, his mind fighting between two ideas that he was dreading to think about. It wasn't until two smaller kids jostled past him that he came to and shook himself. He gave Josh a bewildered and worried look, one reserved only for his son when he couldn't figure something out he'd done. Amirynth She had let his chatter cover the experiment, concentrating on her finger and making sure to keep her 'experiment' hidden. Candice attracted his attention to her finger that was brushing inside the banister instead of along it and then whispered into his ear. "I've had it there since we walked in, It's working!" She looked back at the men following them as if they were making a quick joke and smiled innocently at the pair before turning back and giggling again. She was in bright spirits and almost felt like they were kids again, hunting alien beings.
Joshua would have seen the looks Candice was giving him and Jim but he was busy paying for the tickets. After handing one off he noticed Jim's look. "Ahh.. don't worry about them, I'm sure it's just hormones or something. I mean when I was a teen...." As if he just realized what he had said he tried to correct himself. "Well I hope Candice has a good head on her shoulders... and I'm sure Ace does too... they have been good friends for a long time." Was he hearing things or did he think that there seemed to be something between the two? AriyaLauna "Awh, it's just because you're awesome at it. It's not my doing," Ace answered back, all puffed up in pride for both himself and her, "Hollywood has nothing on you." He tied in this conversation with his last. Jim went red. That wasn't ever, ever a good sign, because that usually meant he'd make one of his employees cry. And the only employee here was Josh. "They're not friends," he hissed, "Just joint conspirators. We're sitting between them." Amirynth "Ace... I could kiss you" Candice threatened with a glare and a grin at his brazened comment though inside she glowed with their joint discovery. "And anyways... it is all so you, your like the ninja of ninjas... with like super l33t awesome powers..." She decided to add on to her 'synopsis' of the movie... "And I'm like ninja of the air. Oh and you can be all like that boss ninja who says stuff and everyone else does it!" She pointed towards Jim "and Joshua! Your like the computer ninja" She had officially gotten carried away and no longer was making sense..."Awww... come on, I'm sure it's not that bad... Joshua was sure this event had been to let Jim relax, not make him even more tense. It's not like Her and Ace can get away with anything, they will be right beside us and Candice can still hardly phase through a door and her invisibility is sproadic at best. I don't think she wouldn't be able to do anything 'large' with everyone around, not that she would even try... She knows better." He looked at Candice quizzically and hoped his faith in her was true. AriyaLauna Ace gave Candice a dirty look at her thread, embarrassed about it and all too sure that she was just using it as a weapon. Not fair. But his grin was back in a moment, "Whoo! I'm the super l33t awesome Mario boss! And...and....my Dad's the cool ninja of... uh..." Ace faltered, because he was pretty sure 'grumpiness' wasn't going to be accepted well, "trainer! He's the sushi!" He paused, "No..the...senshi! Or whatever...Master Splinter!" At least Candice knew what she was talking about. "We're sitting between them," Jim growled. He now had TWO good reasons to.... What? He stared between the teenagers, and raised an eyebrow. The message was clear. He thought they were lunatics. Amirynth "Yeah! Master Splinter! Which would make Joshua that guy... you know... the one who was the reporter. Or was that another series." Candice was never one to follow the cartoons, knowing the arcade bosses much better. But not knowing the name wasn't an issue for long because they had reached the theater. Running into the dark hallways she darted to almost the top row, they were in luck! The room was still pretty empty which gave them perfect seating options. Immediately she hopped into the middle seats saving the ones to her sides. She hadn't been listening to Jim and figured they'd want to sit on their own side while her and Ace could comment on the movie to their hearts content.Joshua shrugged, he wasn't even going to try and argue with his boss... That would be like arguing with the shark who has decided to leave you along for now 'cause he has other fish to mess with. At Candice's exclamations though he had to agree, the both of them were bloody loony! o_O

It's a Date! - part 3 AriyaLauna Andy jumped beside Candice, pouncing the seat beside her, "Who knows? Who cares?" He chattered loudly still, it didn't matter BEFORE the movie started, "I wonder if there's pirates in this movie. We need a ninja-pirate movie." He sat back, knowing that wasn't possible, but hey...it SOUNDED cool. Jim hesitated, then went two rows behind the children, but directly behind them. He was human, after all. And...well...Josh was right. They were both responsible enough. He looked back to his friend, questioning silently if it was the right thing to do. Amirynth "but ninja v.s. pirates is stupid," Candice rolled her eyes at Ace. "Though space pirates v.s. ninja assassins would be cool!" She shot back just as loud not minding that the theater was starting to get dark and the previews were starting to roll. A Glare from Joshua behind them quieted her down but she still gave Ace a prod wondering if he wanted to continue the experiments. She wanted to see if she could master becoming invisible... or even better... just making her hand invisible.Glaring at Candice to shut her up was all Joshua did, he settled back down in the seat with Jim next to him and chuckled. "They'll be fine... probably more entranced in the movie than anything." He hoped he could say the same about himself though it had looked promising in the previews. AriyaLauna "No it isn't," Ace snapped back, and people shushed at him. The good thing about being so loud was that people moved away at least, "Not if you DO it right." He settled in to watch the previews, slapping Candice's hand away at first when she prodded him, but then holding it in his lap, and proceeded to try to drag her whole arm over. Jim made some incomprehensible sound at Josh, shifting nervously as he watched the two... goof off? Yeah. Goof off. Amirynth With a grin she playfully dragged her arm back, this time 'through' the armrest and almost pulled his arm into it also. This was so much fun, her powers seemed to be growing stronger the more exposure she had around Ace. Pulling them both out of the arm rest and safely on top of it, she relaxed again and wiggled her fingers. It was definitely getting tiring and they were feeling kind of stiff but she had already done more today that she did on a normal training day, even if all she had done was mess around with her hand. She wondered if she would be able to make just her hand invisible, she didn't want Joshua or Jim noticing her head getting see through.Joshua wondered what was going on down there but chucked it up to high spirits... surly there was nothing between them right? He pulled away from that train of thought and turned his attention to the movie.

In which Candice gets to do some butt-kicking and Joshua screws with the computer systems... again...Spriggin Man... talk about excitement! First we were dragged out of our nice warm beds to answer this silly summons and then we were sitting ducks for when the baddies showed up. It was kinda fun after that, if a little scary... I managed to get a guy in the leg and then hide from him long enough. I sank him through the floor... pitty it turned out to be a moot point as Joshua managed to simultaneously screw up and succeed in fixing stuff in the same moment. I shall write a little more about it later...
