"Please come in." He smiles warmly, despite himself. Pushing himself up, the small book slides off his torso. His skin is pale, except where he is flushed on his cheek and fore, as if an even greater reminder that his voice is not just a marking of puberty, but something else.

"I haven't gotten a gift since my parents." He does his best to smooth out the sheets around him, although the books and rumpled sheets past his arm's reach are just as visible as the smooth ones near his face.

"Oh I don't know.. I wouldent want to get sick." She stopped herself and swallowed, "But I suppose you might need.. ca... care.." She was trying VERY hard to supress all the.. disgust.. that word in relation to Aesculus brought.
She sighed and looked at the box, "Oh, you won't like it.. its.. uhm.." She trailed off, looking for a word. Let's think... Cheap Kithain, buying a person she knows she hates a gift - taking only about a half hour to find one ... "It's really quite silly. It just reminded me of you, you see." She said, nodding.

Oh please let it be some fat hairy Ox fur hat.. Oh, wait..

She bit her lip again and came in a few steps, looking around she set the box next to him. "I will get you something .. better, later.. maybe that will.. help." She seeped again, and then quickly traveled across the room to the farthest seat she could find.

"I'll be fine... and I'm just grateful to have a gift at all," he replied, and then motioned to the box. "May I open it?" Of course, his Kithain wasn't in sight, and he didn't appear to have any sort of medicines nearby. His insistance that he was fine was just his self-assurance he didn't need caring for. People got sick all the time, and he was sure that he could get better on his own without worrying others.

The only seat in the room was the chair at his desk. It was a dark mahogony, and upholstered in gold velvet. Across the back of the chair "Cortex" was carved elegant into the wood and then embroidered in gold thread into the plush backing, most likely a reminder of his father.

Rosa nodded, batting her hand a moment at the box; expressing that he could do with it as he pleased. She examined the seat and sat herself delicatly, and uncomfortably, upon it. "Little use in lieing, Aesculus - a 'fine' person doesnt hide away in his chambers. Do you really think I would of come to your private chambers if I could of found you in the public locations?" She asked in her more normal tone before her eyes widened, "But I was worried! So I came!" She said a tinge too quickly and in her 'gentle' voice.

Within the box...

He laughed a little at her comment, although this sent him into a spell of what sounded like him coughing up his lung, almost masking the fact that it had started out as almost inaudible laughter. Turning his attentions to the box before she could comment, he opened it carefully.

"This will go quite nicely with the room. Countess Rosa, you are quite gifted with colors and matching things. I suppose this room does merit some more decor." He reaches over to where beside the bed on the level floor he had a small pitcher of water and a half-filled glass, take a generous gulp of it before setting it back down.

Rosa's face contorted as she saw just what it was 'she' got him. "Oh, Uh.. Y.. you... like it..?" She asked, her face was rather dumbfounded for a minute before she shook her head and sighed, "Well, if you like it I suppose I don't have reason to appolagize. You don't strike me as the type of person who lie's for the benefit of others." Well, atleast that was an honest remark. She stood up again and managed a smile at him again. "I will get you something that will actually serve purpose in decorating. Oh. I mean.. nevermind.. if .. if you like it." She was really having trouble believing that. "I.. hope.. you feel better. Listen, Aesculus, everything that happened before.. you know, before, its all.. behind us, right?" She asked.

Good, Rosa, get to the point.

Small feet make their way towards the noises behind the partially closed tall door, as small butterfly wings flutter in a minor display of their possessor's curiousity.

'Closed the door, so she won't be alarmed at first... pillows under the comforter were the hardest. I didn't know they could be so heavy,' Pappila mutters inside of her head, though she is secretly glad that her Kithain has not come yet today, else she would not have had her try at this 'exploration plan'.

However, she had not expected a door so close by to be open and have noise coming from inside the ajoining room. Of course the fact that the noises sound like voices, or at least sort of do to Pappila, doesn't phase her much.

The young toddler carefully makes her way across the hall and up to the door frame, her crystal wand clenched in her right hand as she leans to the side to peek into the room with bright azure eyes gleaming with her inner curiousity.

"If you sincerely would like to start over, Rosa, it is all up to you." He sets the box back down on the floor carefully with the lava lamp beside it. As he does so, his hair falls completely out of its band, and just sort of goes flying wildly about his shoulders as he sits back up, most likely much to Rosa's horror. After all, hair should always be perfect, ne?

"Much as you might disbelieve it, I have never had anything against you." This was true... the only thing he had ever had against her was the way she treated him, but now that she was trying to be nice, he regarded her as kindly as the rest.

Rosa couldent help but scoff, "Correct, you only made my life miserable." She muttered, before she caught herself again. "When I was younger, anyways." Her face twisted up even more when his hair.. had a mind of its own?
"Aesculus!" She promptly half yelled at him, looking at the cieling. "If you HAVE to look aswell as you do you should atleast keep yourself groomed.. well, I mean.." Hey, there's a thought. "I suppose you can be sloppy. If you want."
Sure, he could try and be as pretty as her - but if he's smelly and disoriented nobody is gonna wanna come near him.. right?

It was still painful to look at, and as her eyes darted around the room to keep from looking at him, the flash of lovely blue caught her for just a second. On careful inspection, she moved a step or two twords the door. "Perhaps I am not your only visitor. I dont suppose you have a very large blue mouse that bare's striking resemblance to a babies' face?" She commanded of him, deciding anything was a better subject then this - considering she was close to loosing the refined grip she took the past few hours in gathering.

Pappila briefly considers trying to duck around the corner and possibly being forgotten, but that doesn't seem very 'honorable', like the heroes in the stories her Kithain reads to her. So instead she slowly steps away from the door's frame and attempts a cute little curtsey, though her wand never leaves her hand's grip for a moment.

"Hello," she says without pause in her still very young voice, though adding on more words will prove to be a hard task indeed. She straightens but does not advance, seeing the room as a place that one must be invited into.

"No no, Countess Rosa. My mice are gray or black. Please come in, young one. I am sorry for my appearance... Countess Rosa assures me it is none too pleasant." He smiles a little, not knowing this new Fey, but guessing she is the future mage of the court. Leaning back, he sinks into the pillows that he is sitting against, suddenly looking quite frail.

"I am Aesculus, and this is Rosa."

Rosa shook her head, "Aesculus I am perfectly capable of introducing myself." She kept herself from snapping, but did sound rather strict. Well, she didnt mind most people introducing her, (it was sometimes what had to be done, after all) aslong as they remembered that ever so important 'countess' part. But in this case, even had Aesculus dubbed her the most magnificent fey creation of all, she probably wouldent of enjoyed it much.

"Hello." She retorts to the girl, taking a few steps back this time. "Aesculus, do you know who this is?" She asked, eyeing the little girl as she sat down again.

Don't kids that age.. drool? Oh my poor mother...Imagine all the soiled clothes.

Pappila takes a couple of quick steps into the chamber before coming to a stop and taking some time in checking out her surroundings, which of course include the two other Fey, who are now quite visible. She does choose not to dally long in this practice, as her Kithain had told her that others often feel slighted if ignored for a long period of time, no matter how informatively that time should be spent for her.

"I am Pappila," she says smoothly, her free hand going to her azure robe to pat at her chest softly, her lips turning up in a polite smile. Now she only hopes they don't ask too many questions of her, for just that one phrase took a few days of practice to sound just right. Blast her still developing vocal chords!

She isn't sure what to make of either of them, though her quick inspection has led her believe that Aescelus is not in good health nor is well kept, while Rosa is very much the opposite. Another step inside brings her to what she considers a safe distance from the door, a quick glance to the right and left a motion to satisfy her curiousity a bit further without staring and being what her Kithain says is rude.

The sparse, clean room lends little seating arrangements, save for the rather uncomfortable trunk at the end of Aesculus's bed, or the bed itself. Seeing this, Aesculus starts to push himself up from the pillows and swings his legs over the side of the bed, looking like he might be trying to get up. If Syrenrei were here, her objections would ring down the corridor, but he doesn't want the poor child to sit on the floor.

"Just a moment, I'll fetch you a chair," he says. He coughs a touch, as his feet touch the cold floor, and he feels the air touch his skin. Being buried under the covers, he had almost forgotten that the room wasn't as warm as he was.

Rosa seemed lost in thought. Truly, she could careless if Aesculus had any 'problems' doing whatever task he seemed determined for. Perhaps she would of cared a little bit had he been as young as he used to be, but she decided he was old enough to be stupid and push his body however he wanted to. "Just don't topple over on the little girl. Her name is almost fammiliar.." She shook her head, and rubbed her head a moment. "Let's see..." She looked back at the girl. "Butterfly. Im sure you know, Aesculus, who her parents were?"

Well, Rosa had already decided Papilia was somebody 'important.' Perhaps she could look past the imagined drool long enough to see if this was someone she could make another one of her 'connections' with. That, however, wasent very important... She already had to deal with Aesculus at the moment, and she decided in the end this kid wouldent remember anything she said or did to her once she was old enough to affect Rosa's life anyways.

After -all- that 'extencive' thinking was done, she gave Pappila only the slightest of smiles before she watched Aesculus almost amusedly for a moment. "Well, Pappila, perhaps you will learn a good lesson today." She said with a nod at the teenager.
