Perhaps the RP is located in a dream? A collective dream, even. No one knows they're trapped (or maybe just located rather than trapped) in a dream, and when they're gone it's when they're awake. Since no one in the dream land/world/wherever knows this, they would think it was some threatening and weird happening.

Of course, why is the collective dream happening and occurring to so many different people? Why can't anyone remember where they go (their real lives) when they disappear? I suppose if that were the setting then part of the RP would be coming to a conclusion as to why all of that is going on (;

Nice to see the guild getting active again, I will try to post more often ninja

So far I like the idea of supporting an unknown artist~ The only problem I foresee, as well as with the recommendation thread is this- the said artists would be barraged with commissions by OGAWG members.
As good as this could be, most artists can't handle that many commissions in a short amount of time. And recommended artists who are probably of better quality seem to only take a small number of commissions if available at all. It would just leave a lot of sad OGAWG members who can't get the pretty arts crying

The review thread seems like a good large project if OGAWG wants to take it on. But it'd have to be organized well from the beginning considering how many artists/shops are out there. It has a lot of potential as a somewhat universal directory/review. Like when you go to amazon and there's customer reviews, both negative and positive.
Potential customers can look up artists/shops and see how they rate according to OGAWG.

I do really like the idea of a large OGAWG event. It seems like everyone's heard of the guild but that's about its limit >.>

The whole 'homes/personal threads' subforum sounds interesting... but I agree it would cause a lot exclusion since people only want to hang out in their own threads, or their friends'.
This idea could work if there's one or two people devoted to just that subforum. Katherdante's idea seems well fleshed out, using it mostly for information and organization uses. Maybe use it as an information thread to direct artists to when you want to commission them?
Then if people want to chat- they can just keep going to the OGAWG chatterbox and other threads. It would make the whole of OGAWG a sort of home for its members, so they have a thread of their own to refer to instead of having random threads in the R&C or linking to outside websites. And we'd still have a community place to chat.

The RP is a good idea as just a everyday entertainment for some members. Of course not everyone RP's and the timezone differences always makes some things difficult.

Everyone gets one thread that they can keep their OC's and art collection information in. It would not be for talking/hanging out at all. Just good ol' storage space for those of us too lazy/busy/etc to put togeather a fancy website. x3`

See the only problem I have with that is that it kind of ruins the purpose of the This Just In, Character Discussion, and the work Rae has done to maintain the member lists and gallery links as well as making it relatively easy to search for information if/when we have events involving actually knowing things about your artwhore mates. If more people like the idea though, I'm sure it could be worked out. Ultimately it's Rae's decision, I'm just helping out ^^

I dont see how it interferes with any of that as it serves a seperate purpose. sweatdrop

Everyone will still use this just in and character disucssion. As that is where people talk and hang. My idea has noting to do with people using their home threads to talk in. They are for storing and sorting information, leaving notes about who you are commisisoning, how much you owe so and so. I dont know about everyone else but sometimes I get confused, especially with large commissions and I want to have a place where I can quickly check and make sure about details of deals I have going on.

The most that my sugjestion would influence that is someone linking to a post within their art home thread when showing art of their character if someone wants to know more about them. That sort of thing. They wont be for hanging out. Just keeping your perminant info.

Also, the threads we have currently are public and are for talking and showing new things, not keeping track of your own characters / past works. =

When I thought of this I also thought that it would be easier for Rae.
She links to each persons page in the guild and they can have all the art related links/information they want to have within that thread in an organized manner that they can upkeep without pestering her about having a new contest/request thread etc. So... it would actually be easier on her and everyone can update their own info.

(quick explination of above paragraph)

- Everyone makes one thread to put their art whoring information
- she links to that
- they can update it without ever having to pester her about stuff

Sort of the idea of a layout for a sample one would be like this.

- Intro
- News/etc (updates / links to your request thread - contest - etc)
- Nav
- History (maybe how you got started?)
- Information (peices you have / ammounts spent etc)
- Current deals (lists of auctions - commissions - etc that you are watching/offering/pending - you can keep track of items/gold ammounts that you have promised or owe)<--- little pieces of paper around my desk system has seriously started to fail me DX

- Then listings of all your ocs - with links to directly their sub galleries and their best reference images. For those of us who mostly commission through gaia and dont have a handy-dandy website, being able to directly link artists to a very clear cut post about a character would be great.

I really sugest they not have people talk in their thread... how can they add new ocs neatly if they do that?

Honestly I thought of this because the place where I have been keeping my stuff (my gaia journal) is hard for artists to navigate apparently (as I have had several miss-communications leading to sub-par/confused art works that could have done better had this issue been avoided). The idea of having a place where I can organize it and link people to when I am placing a commission where they can see the specs is very important to me. This just seemed like the logical place for it to be kept and I also thought other art whores may be having the same issue.

At the same time it will also be bringing artists and others into our guild more. Having things for them to look at- perhaps also spreadign awareness of the guild itself as I have heard others talking that that has been a concern.

I could easily come up with a template for such threads if needbe.

Anywho, the idea sounds good the way you have it (I'm completely against having personal hang out threads). The one thing I might stress is that we have rules to make sure that it doesn't become a hang out thread (meaning only you can post in your own thread) and that it won't become a journal.

If the purpose is going to be an easy-access link for artists then you shouldn't want them reading your dirty laundry anyway.

It still doesn't really make it any easier for Raesha when it comes to ranking since people don't always count their galleries properly. Although it would eliminate the need to update request threads/shops/websites/etc.

But I still think it might interfere with the previously mentioned threads. The main reason this thread was made was because people weren't interacting with eachother and more than half our memberlist had fewer than 10 posts and most haven't been around in ages. Personal threads don't often promote interaction sweatdrop Hoowever, I think with it being solely an information page to attract artists, it'd work as good promotion and maybe make the search for the featured artist project a bit easier. So when Raesha gets back I'll ask her about it and see what she thinks. I'm all for giving it a shot now (thanks again Song XD )

Having clear cut rules and perhaps a sugjested template and example would be good. I know it can work because thats how I set it up in my Switches Guild for Home Threads, though I think they should be able to have their own formatting all they want as long as it follows rules. I also would not mind helping to set up and moderate this section. x3

Also... I have been thinking of this for a while... I perhaps should share my numbering system with the others. <,<
It is the only reason I can keep track myself!

Yeah, the scavenger hunt idea sounds super fun. Although Rae, Sabin, Kamiki, and Zeph are probably the easiest to google XD

I liked your idea of scavenger hunting for artists of certain styles/types of pictures/etc
