Captain Jadarite Sticking with Albite, trying to look out for the others
"I think that hallway was made to sanitize whatever they constructed in here," she was mumbling to Jet as she regained her balance on the other side of the door, rubbing at a few scrapes on her arms. "It was built like an oversized dishwasher."
There wasn't much time to consider that, however, because it had only taken a few seconds of being in this room for people to start acting like idiots.
It was true that the youma had not led them wrong so far, but there was a difference, she would have liked to point out to her companions who were acting on impulse, between going through a hallway and a door and throwing oneself into literal winds.
Even the youma wasn't going that far. It was waiting. It was looking for a solution.
There wasn't much Jada could do about it except to run over to Albite, putting a supportive hand on his shoulder once again as she saw the magic flicker at his fingertips. He was right, for once. He could use it if he needed to.
This was one of those situations where it might help.

Lt. Borax Heading over to the symbol on the "bridge" (1 + 1 (recon) = 2.....)
It didn't take long for the other older lieutenant to also decide to launch herself into the wind, and he watched with lofted brows as he went from appreciating her informational drop to wondering if she had lost whatever vestiges of sanity had remained in her after living in the worldwide system. Borax let out a long-suffering sigh, projecting, "There's a better way than just launching!"
There was also something stretching across the hallway that may have helped. It wasn't necessarily a conventional bridge, but it caught his attention enough to cause him to head toward it.
To the leaders, he tried to project an added, "I'm going to check out this crane bridge, but we may be able to use these bundles," he gestured toward the bundle he had spotted when looking for a way around the offending force field, "to get over there if anyone's up to the jump!"
Now what was glowing on the side of it?
He had been hesitant to touch anything without clearance, but if the symbols had been showing visions of what happened, it seemed they were primarily harmless. Perhaps these symbols were primarily beneficial...
He touched a finger to it, in any case.

The scorpion youma was perfectly ready to crawl down the side of the wall, its chitinous legs ticking hard enough into the surface that it held fast on the wall. Unlike the agents gathered, the youma was able to crawl down to one of the extended cranes and begin crossing, though when it tried to jump, it was rocketed back upward and into the ceiling. It splatted against the molten area above and disintegrated shortly thereafter. The winds never gave its dust the ability to fall.
Jet [4] had touched the Uranus symbol at the edge of their platform, and around his form swirled a bluster of air. The swirl of boisterous air was as playful and sinister as that which the Uranus knight had discharged in the earlier vision. Now that he was enchanted by the winds of Uranus, he would be able to move far beyond his typical capabilities.
Without any enchantment, Miyamoto had stepped into the windy passage and was blown back against the double doors leading into the rotating hallway. It seemed that was not the correct angle to approach the shaft.
Faustite answered Albite shortly after his call. "Guess so. Getting tired. You found another youma, then? Found a few, too. Don't like what happened to them here. It's a ******** waste.
"Don't think we were fighting over resources. Can't say for certain, yet, not until we learn more."
Andesine [4] followed Miyamoto's example, to slightly better outcome – she leapt off, then floated where she was for a moment, before the wind pushed her upward and back toward the broken double doors that led back into the hallway, conveniently piling her into Miyamoto. That was two attempts to mostly the same conclusion.
When Borax [2] neared the smoldering symbol on part of the crane, he found that the symbol was shaped like the sign for male. When he touched it, it exploded, throwing him off the crane and into the open shaft. Wind rushed up, pushing him back up to the platform where the others stood and launched him up past it with building inertia. Perhaps one of the others could catch him before he met a worse fate like the scorpion youma that impacted the ceiling.
If no one touched the symbol that Borax touched, then perhaps the crane would be a tenuous, if useful way across. They could climb the bundles of light to the other side. But perhaps there was another means of crossing right at their feet.
After a time, everyone's tablet erupted with Faustite's staticky voice. "All teams, wrap up your investigations and return to the rendezvous point. Team leads, report your findings when ready. Once you return, a team from the base camp will rappel down with a resupply for everyone. Use that time to take a breather before our last descent."

The two idiots that Jadarite and Albite were watching ended up deposited in a heap by the doorway. Looked unpleasant, but they were alive, which was what really mattered, and with any luck they'd be rethinking their life choices.
Then there was Borax.
Borax, who Jadarite had recruited because he was smart. He read things like Hemingway and The Silmarillion. He knew good wine from bad. He'd worked his way up to an managing position in finance, with goals to go even farther. He was sharp. Classy. Handsome. Restrained.
Only, at this moment he'd decided to throw all of that out the window and start poking at glowing sigils on the ground, knowing as well as the rest of them that it had been knights that had tried to sabotage this area.
"Really?" she asked as the scorpion youma was thrown into the ceiling, exploding into a shower of dust. Faustite wouldn't like that.
All the same, she was throwing herself towards Borax, trying to catch him before he reached the same fate. She hadn't come down here to lose her only subordinate.
“Thank you Andesine!” Faustites answer was staticky background noise in his ear, his heart a fire in his throat. A grateful sort of confusion for the Lt’s warning; so long as they survived —
And hadn’t his boy Cryolite mentioned this one from the ******** alien kidnapping fiasco? And some other time too! Fighting gargoyles or sum such? Albite stored it away from later, decided the girl was steel strong and stunning far as he was concerned. More so when he could release the breath he held when her n Miyamoto hit the door in a rough, ragged pile of very much still alive limbs. It didn’t look comfortable — but —
“Jada!!” He hadn’t seen Borax go - but he saw Jada move decisively - eyes on her back as she reached to make the grab. Of course she’d go after her subordinate, her man, Albite didn’t fault her for that at all, but his magic was on edge and the last step she took just ******** did it for him—- it reached for her though — even if she had Borax just fine? He didn’t need her breaking a heel or chipping a nail trying to snag his a**!
“Alright! Can everyone stop trying to compete for the Albite award?! I don’t wanna hand that s**t out today,” and yes, it was made on skull-thick paper, lined with glittering ink and plastered with ‘You did your best and we love you for it!’ stickers embossed in bronze and rainbow crayon, a smattering of gold stars. It was a very nice award to have when surviving the trials of touching all the things all of the time — and of surviving ‘being Albite’ — but he’d never wanted to have to make more than one to hand out before!
“Jet, Faustite wants us to wrap this up quick and — uh — the way back is wet n spinning — if there’s a forwards you can find? I’d like the forwards one if — wait — where’d Chitter go?!” and now the cute little scorpion was missing!?
Super Sailor Scout Attack:
Choking Retribution! Albites tattoos appear to come alive, slithering off his harm like ethereal magical ribbons. The tattoo ribbons wrap around his intended opponent (pick a body part) and tie the two together for a duration of 20 seconds. The bindings slowly begin to tighten on said opponent, squeezing a bit like a boa constrictor would. Neither is able to escape the other until the magic is ended, or the weak ribbons are severed. He can now use the attack twice in battle, but can still only focus on one target at a time. Effect: Instantaneous Range: 6 Feet Duration: 20 seconds Number of uses: 2 Number of targets: 1

General King Jet Suggesting everyone touch the Uranus symbol. Jumping off where the wind is. HP: 120 Roll: 3
Any amusement in his voice as he spoke to Aquamarine quickly disappeared when he announced the ceiling was on fire.
“Aqua??” he tried calling back, but could only imagine he was trying to make a hasty escape.
Besides, Jet had his own problems to deal with before he could get out of there and find out where Aquamarine escaped to.
“s**t,” he hissed, and had almost forgotten that he’d reached for the Uranus symbol when the air swirled around him. He had no idea what it meant, but he felt light.
Was it just him who got this ability?
Unfortunately, the little scorpion youma met its untimely end, and Jet shook his head at Albite.
“It didn’t make the jump across. Too light,” Jet said somewhat morosely as he looked up to where there were the last remnants of dust. At least it would regenerate somewhere hopefully more comfortable for it.
“Everyone, we need to get across now. There are other teams in trouble and they might need our help,” Jet said, looking from Albite to Jadarite and the others. He was glad that they managed to grab Borax, and that Miyamoto and Andesine seemed like they’d had better days, but were still in one piece.
“This Uranus symbol gave me… some kind of magic, I think,” he told the others and indicated to the symbol. “I don’t know if it’s a one person deal but it’s worth a shot to try touching it too. If it doesn’t seem to work, I’ll try to at least stop the cranes so we can get across easier.”
Jet took a couple steps over to where Miyamoto and Andesine had attempted to jump into the wind, took a breath, and then did so himself, hoping to at least reach one of the cranes to help the others if they weren’t granted the same magic he was.
After watching Andesine, Borax and Miyamoto struggle with the winds, then the scorpion youma go up to the ceiling and get dusted, Niter didn't want anything to do with getting across the gap. Really, that forcefield could keep whatever was behind it. He was happy to just do as Faustite had expected of them and get out of there before the whole place turned into some kind of cursed gyroscope. He definitely wasn't crossing any of that until someone had a real actual bridge that didn't explode people into orbit for daring to touch part of it.
Besides, it didn't look like there was much around to use for a terminal, so he wasn't really the best pick for helping out just yet. While Jadarite and Albite took care of getting Borax out of the vortex, Niter turned toward Andesine and Miyamoto.
"Um, at least you gave it a try?" Niter tried to soften any wounded pride as he offered a hand to help them to their feet. "I dunno how much good my magic would do here, but uh, maybe we can figure out a way to use magic to counteract magic? Or just, like, head back to the rendezvous. Since that'd be. Um. Safer." Niter nodded emphatically, as if to intimate which option he thought they should all be choosing.
Ok, so the idea hadn't worked....well ok it sort of had. At least he knew the wind was strong enough to hold his weight and not drop him. The problem was getting to the other side, rather than hitting a set of double doors, it had at least gotten him something positive. When he did land, rather hard, on the ground the corrupt took his time before standing up slowly - ********, that sort of really hurt.
Looking over to Nitter he shook his head slowly. "I'd rather see if we can't make it work. I'm not much for letting something like this beat me, I'd like to figure it out. The winds can move a body but the problem is getting where we need to go. We just need to figure that out." And he really was determined to do that. Sadly his own magic wasn't going to help with that, if only he had more useful magic.
Approaching the symbol the General King had mentioned, tilting his head as he looked it over. Touching the symbols he hoped it might be able to help him in his endevor to jump that gap. As he did so his attention turned to where the General King was attempting to do what he'd just tried himself. "If that works...." If that works than it would for him as well now, at least he hoped. "That better work..." He whispered to himself, voice fierce and almost commanding. It really had better work.

Lt. Borax very salty, also still a kiss up. HP: 40/50 (n/a)
The one and only time he had decided not to take a path of cautious observation was the time it blew up in his ******** face. Of course. It hurt, and he would have yelped if he didn't clamp down on it immediately. The crane bridge broke apart. Things were getting whipped around by wind and apparently so was he. Lovely. Fantastic. He was supposed to be the trusted one. The one that could be depended on to not be a massive ******** up. That was the impression he would like to keep, seeing as not only was it true, it was also the way he got the power he craved faster.
Now, it was Jadarite dragging him back down to the ground, with a look of clear exasperation on her face.
"My apologies," he murmured, affecting an embarrassment that may have existed somewhere behind the anger at the world around him and his endless projection of confidence and swag. "I didn't mean to cause an explosion. Andesine had said that the symbols touched in the prior areas had provided benefits and visions. I made an incorrect presumption of the same."
He was trying to explain himself, of course, as Albite ran up behind Jadarite and attempted to make sure she was anchored, too. He would have just blown it off if he hadn't mentioned competing for the Albite award.
The momentary look that crossed Borax's face was acrid.
Instead of acknowledging it, he buried it under the veneer of embarrassment and continued with a rueful smile and, "Will not happen again."

Jadarite [6] had managed to catch Borax and bring him back to the ground safely. It was for the best, then, that Albite did not report to Faustite about what just happened. They were, at least, still safe and accounted for (minus the scorpion youma).
When Jet [3] took a running jump toward one of the cranes, the wind that enveloped his body boosted him, sending him straight for the object at an astonishing speed. He would have to brace for impact next time, as he struck the crane hard enough to hurt himself and damage the equipment, but he certainly would not fall short of reaching his destination. The wind lingered around him like a cloak, waiting to deliver him to new heights if he only committed to another leap.
The crane itself featured a maintenance panel at the base of the machine, covered by a panel that expected credentials in order to proceed. Perhaps it would accept their identifications nonetheless, as the earlier doors had.
Or, if Jet was feeling up to it, he could try breaking the crane and forcing it to remain straight on his own (1d6 + combat, success = 4+).
As Miyamoto [4] touched the glowing symbol that Jet had touched previously, he found himself enveloped by the same winds that carried Jet to the opposite edge. It seemed that the symbol was still able to confer power. Miyamoto would find that, if he jumped with conviction and had a destination in mind, the winds would carry him there at breathtaking speeds.
Quote:
Anyone using the Uranus winds to leap around, roll 1d6 to reach your destination (can be combined with an investigation roll, ie 2d6, with the first number being your leap). The character will always make it to their destination, but if they roll 3 or below on their first die, they will take 5 impact damage. 4+ will get them there unscathed.
The first die may be combined with a combat roll bonus. The second die may be combined with recon for general investigations, or with tech for panel or terminal investigations.

General King Jet Communicating with Aquamarine. Touching the sandy brown symbol. HP: 125/120 - 5 = 115 Roll: lmao fail
Jet hissed when the wind was knocked out of him. He had no idea how far he would have had to jump with the magic, but he would know better next time. He just hoped he hadn’t damaged the crane too much.
He didn’t want to break it, since if the others weren’t careful they could get injured as well. And he wanted as many of them to get out unscathed as possible.
“Let me try using the maintenance panel,” he decided, doing his best to drop to the base of the machine without injuring himself further.
“If this doesn’t work, I might need any of the rest of you to try and help break the crane. It might make a decent bridge without needing to jump.”
Assuming what he'd done would allow him to jump over the winds, without being blasted right into a door, the corrupt senshi approached the ledge again and jumped right into the winds again. Deciding to see if the General King needed help he didn't expect to land right where he wanted to, though that was a nice bonus really.
"Do you need help with the panel?" He questioned upon landing, wanting to be of whatever help he could so they could clear this area, though he did think this discovery might help them all get across with ease.
"It looks like whatever happened by touching that symbol allows us to travel with a fair amount of ease." And close a distance with speed as well as ease, no hitting into things on the way. "I wonder if it's blessing will run out of if everyone can use it."

When Jet tried to access the maintenance panel, the panel recognized him with the usual greeting. However, as it tried to open to the controls underneath, something had jammed — the panel was no longer retracting completely. Only about an inch of space opened up in the center of the panel, and what little Jet could see of the controls didn't look promising. Most of them looked fried, maybe burnt out by electricity or they short-circuited themselves due to the heavy winds.
Perhaps it was due to his taste of the winds previously, but Miyamoto [5] made the jump across to join Jet without issue.
It seemed that everyone now had two options: they could wait for Miyamoto and Jet to lower a crane to get across the gap, or they could follow their example and use the Uranus symbol to bestow themselves with the power of the wind.
