Hania ~ Rolls: 1Hania had not in fact been planning on going to the auction, not the charity ball, seeing how he wasn't about to show up as a cat or only spend an hour as a human there. He did however plan on patrolling the area to keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary seeing how a large event like that might draw the attention of chaos with all that ripe energy for the taking. He had sent messages to a few others letting them know his plans but wasn't sure if any of them would be joining him or not, besides some of them could be in the event for all he knew anyway. Still he had no plans on going inside, none. So why oh why did the craziness that attached itself to the event drag him in and force him to once again be stuck in human disguise?! He gave a little put out sigh but his attention was quickly pulled to the fact that there were robots and world eating static heading straight for them. Unfortunately for Mauvian, being pulled in to the fray and shoved into a completely mundane human form at the same time did not do his reflexes any good and when the crowd stampeded, he ended up pushed, shoved, and hit to the back of the crowd. This close to the robots he finally registered the low sound that was head piecing but rather then try and stay around to listen to it like an idiot, Hania finally started to run the opposite direction.

Alexandre:[b 6] Watching his cousin, side glancing him really, he caught sight of his cousin stiffening up and shook his head. "She's nice, no need to worry. I wouldn't mention her if she wasn't." Why mention those he didn't like? They weren't worth his time or consideration really. "I think you'll like her...she is a bit rough but otherwise pleasant. She's between us." In rank he meant, and he hoped his cousin understood that.
Before more could be said, and before he could grab a drink from someone passing by, things shifted and distorted. It was like an old American movie in some middle of no where town. The clothing and the hair styles..it was all wrong - all old fashioned. When the screaming started he jumped into action - looking all around. Greyish blue eyes took in what was coming up behind them and he turned back to his cousin.
"We need to move - now." Firm and confident - the words of a General...of someone who had been in plenty of fights and could hold his own. It was like watching a switch get flipped. From polite and calm to confident and stronger, with a certain darkness in his eyes. As Hudson tried to grab a hold of him they were separated, not something he approved of, but when he could he was trying to reach for his cousin, and it seemed Hudson had the same idea. They needed to stay together.
"Hudson!" Calling for his cousin as he grasped for his arm, and latching on once he felt his fingers close about the others flesh. Pulling himself away from people and closer to his cousin. All but climbing and clinging to his cousin so he could get close enough to speak. "I can't power up...I tried - to get to you easier." Cause teleporting would have made it easier and he could have moved thru people easier - pushed them right out of his way. But he couldn't do it. Something was stopping him. "I can't. We have to do this together." They would need to keep each other safe, rather than him keeping Hudson safe.

Daisy Grace [roll total = 4]
Daisy had been feeling a little stifled by the press of people at the benefit, but nothing hat she couldn't cope with. It was just like a really busy con, no big. And really, feeling a little sardine-y beat being out in the rain from what she could hear over the murmur of people. When the auction items were wheeled out, she was happy enough to look at everything once more. After all, some of the stuff was just so cool!
Like the vintage TV. Now that she regretted not bidding on, given how cheaply it had gone for. But well, it wasn't her fault that she'd needed to powder her nose.
Turning slightly to look at some of the other items, Daisy thought for a moment that she'd seen a flicker from the TV, but dismissed it. It was just the lights reflecting off of the screen. Without warning, she felt something rush through the air and shivered. Anywhere else she would have thought a window had been opened. Only there weren't any windows to open here. Before she could get her bearings, the lights went out just as thunder crashed overhead. Letting out a startled yelp, Daisy froze, wondering if she should power up or not. Before she could decide, the lights returned, but everything looked... off. Like the way old movies would flicker and jump. Things not moving at the correct speed.
Okay, yeah. Powering up would be a really good idea. As her hand moved for the folds of her dress where she'd sewn a clever pocket, the world simply stopped. And when it started again, everything was wrong. All around were people in vintage clothing, and while she loved all things vintage, she really couldn't get behind being stuck in what looked like every city she'd ever seen in a bad 1950s shlock-fest. And more concerning were the robots that she could see approaching and fast.
Others around her had noticed too and screaming, they'd begun to frantically run. Deciding that this was a wonderful idea, she hiked her skirt up, and joined them. She spared a moment to wish she was closer to the front of the pack, if only so she wouldn't keep getting the occasional shove and runaway elbow to the ribs. But at least she wasn't at the tail end of the frenzy. Those poor bastards were likely to get trampled.
As she ran, she tried to power up, but felt an odd pressure around her, keeping the magic from working. Okay then. She was doing whatever this was under her own normal power.
Great. ********>

Luca Krantz's Roll Total: 9Luca's reaction to the scenery change was somewhere between "oh, this is interesting" and "not this crap again." Sure, there was no proof and no way to prove the Negaverse was up to it usual schemes again, but boy howdy did Destiny City have a way with the weird. The panic that overcame the illusory town's citizens overtook everything. Regardless of whether the robots were a threat or not, the static that was literally consuming everything was definitely a threat. Luca could have sworn she once played a game with a void that consumed everything much like the static, but there was no time to make comparisons. She had to beat feet to avoid getting trampled and to avoid getting voided. Luca was still as strong and fast as ever, even in heels (no, maybe especially in heels), and she managed to dodge the majority of the people traffic, along with the robotic horde. What was on the other side of the chasm was a mystery, but it was worth investigating at the very least. Quote: Luca is open for interaction!

Marta Harmon's Roll Total: 1Marta was caught completely off guard when the scenery changed. Her heart must have dropped square into her stomach, because there was a dizzying anxiety when the area around her filled in. When she got her bearings, she was going to ask the people around her where she was, but then the robots attacked. People seemed to swarm her every which way, blurring everything together and hailing a flurry of misplaced feet and hands upon her person. Her dress and shoes were going to be absolutely wrecked, but there was no time to think about that, because some infernal noise was coming from the direction of the robots. It was something like a pulse that must have been designed to give headaches or worse. Swept up in panic, Marta scrambled to try and pass through the crowd to the only escape she could see. Justine Lawrence's Roll Total: 10Justine was not the type to panic when strange things happened. When the scene shifted to the pleasant midday of an old-fashioned town, she was more focused on getting an eyeful of the aesthetics of the place and its people than she was on any other concerns. It made her want to try playing with pinup poses and newspaper textures, and it also gave her a craving for electro swing. Hmm. When the panic ensued and the robots entered, Justine remained unruffled, just about melting into the flow of the crowd and following it towards the dark crevice. Going with the flow, metaphorically or literally, was something she was very used to at this point. Soon, the robots and mysterious static were far behind her, and she prepared herself to search whatever area came up next. Quote: Justine is open for interaction!

Ryan Roll Totals: OneRyan had known, on some level, that the Charity benefit had been set to run tonight. But he hadn't really thought about it in a more than abstract sense. He didn't really have the money to play at auction, and he also knew he'd just be highly uncomfortable in fancy dress. Literally, fancy dress, because that's what he immensely preferred to wear. Well, he supposed he could wear his dress kilt; that was slightly different and would probably still garner some weird looks (that he was used to), but at least he'd feel more confident in telling people off over it. The makeup would probably be hard to explain, though. He stood outside the building where it was taking place, in rather ordinary, gender-conforming clothes, because he hadn't felt like obsessing with the possibility of getting harassed over it tonight. But now, standing outside this building, he ached to be inside, dressed up, and having fun. Just dancing the night away, and for charity, too. He sighed, leaning against the wall with a dejected slump. Well, he'd made his bed and he'd lie in it now, he supposed. The time it would take to buy one of the extra tickets, go home, change, and all that, well, the ball'd be half over. Then, with a weird warp of sight and sound, he found himself flat on his back in a very strange setting. Well, that hurt.. He winced and sat up halfway, rubbing the back of his head and leaning on the elbow of his free arm, glancing around. It looked like he'd just been thrown into... It's A Wonderful Life or something. It was definitely 1950s-ish, anyway. Wow, he'd completely forgotten poodle skirts had been a thing, and a small part of himself in the back of his mind filed away the thought for later. Not all of them were poodle skirts, of course, that was mostly the younger women. Ew, men really did have to wear suits a great deal of the time, he thought vaguely. Then the screaming and the running. Okay, well, Ryan was kind of insulted, here. Sure, he didn't look like a normal 1950s guy, but come on, wouldn't you want to check on someone who'd just taken a hard fall to the concrete? He'd thought the 1950s had more manners. At least, that's how it was always talked about. Rolling his eyes, he stood up and dusted himself off, and only then did his brain actually catch up and stop being so dumb. They had to be running for a reason. Other than Ryan being ugly or something. God, his head hurt. He turned around. Ah. Okay. Evil robots. Sure, that made sense. He squinted at them, wincing as the pain in his head increased. Okay, yeah, fine, he'd move in a second, but... He couldn't stop a snort of laughter escaping him. They looked nothing like the Daleks, of course, but they certainly had the same kind of quality to them. Right. Running and screaming. He inhaled deeply, turned sharply on his heel, and darted forward with a shriek of his own, adding to the cacophony. ********, he'd really taken too long to absorb what was happening, and now he was at the tail end of the pack of people, all of them clawing at each other and elbowing to jostle themselves forward. Even if it was some kind of weird dream, the danger felt impossibly real, and he didn't want to get murdered by crappy off-brand Dalek-esque 1950s cardboard cutout robots, no matter if it was a dream or not. And if it wasn't, yeah, staying alive was. Y'know. Kind of imperative! What was not imperative was him realizing that no, they weren't Dalek-like, they were far more like the 1950s Cybermen. Ugh, duh. Right. Living. Not dying. Staying alive. Preferable. He winced and coughed as he took a good (well, technically bad) elbow to the ribs.

[Jaidev Vaswani: 5]Jaidev laughed. "I'll endure the torture of fancy parties of the reward is more time spent with you," he said, playfully. And for all he joked, he did think it was generally a fair exchange, and a mostly pleasant one even. Spending time with a beautiful woman, getting out of his rather confined underground existence, getting to mingle among the glitterati...yes, he could handle that. He could handle a taste of the life he'd left behind in Hyderabad, the day he agreed to let his General test him.
"Hm, perhaps I'll let you take your eye to the place," he said, reaching up to push a hand over his locs. "A pair of refined, clever eyes will surely help me get everything together."
Jaidev hadn't even noticed anything was off, so focused was he on his date. But there was the rush, and the sudden change, and he glanced around at the people around them and frowned. These clothes were...not right. Older. Out of fashion, even to his uneducated eye. Never mind the strange way they looked, like he was watching through something grainy.
"What is this," he murmured, and he moved to grab Felicity and pull her close, protectively--
And then all hell broke loose.
There was no choice but to run, when the robots descended, because the crowd was also running--and Jaidev found himself carried away from his date by the momentum of the crowd.
"Felicity!" He called, trying to spot her, but to no avail.

[Jolene Moriarty: 1]It had been so nice, dancing with her friend without a care except for making sure she kept time with the music. It was a party, and she wanted to enjoy it, and she was.
Until a rustle of wind stirred her hair and her dress, and made her turn towards its source, and everything went a little strange. Suddenly it felt like she'd not just been tossed back in time, but tossed into an old movie; Roman Holiday, but with no Audrey Hepburn to be seen.
Ciel's comment about magic got a sharp nod of agreement, and Jolene tensed, ready for things to get even stranger quickly.
They did, of course.
She didn't hesitate a moment--when the robots started descending, she bolted, but her feet tangled in her dress, and she stumbled--
And there was the awful, awful humming noise, and as she got back on her feet and kept running, she had to bring her hands up to block it, for what little it did.

[Levi Burningham: 7]
Parties weren't really Levi's style, but charity was, and so he'd gotten himself a suit, done his hair up nicely, and shown up at the party. He was having a pretty good time, even, all things considered; he'd bid on a few auctions, done some schmoozing for the organizations he worked with, and generally gotten around.
He happened to notice the old, antique TV out of the corner of his eye; it was a cute little curiosity, but nothing he needed, so he hadn't given it much thought during the auction, and didn't give it much now--until the flickering caught his eye.
And then the thunder rolled.
And the lights went out.
And they came back up, and he might as well have been in some old episode of Dr. Who, down to the incredibly cheesy enemies. The good news was, Levi was quick to react, and he turned and ran, heart pounding. Being transported into a strange magical realm boded ill, he was pretty sure, but at least this time there was no mad queen holding out one hand with a knife behind her back. Metaphorically speaking. And he was doing pretty good at staying ahead of the pack, too, which meant he could eventually pause and catch his breath.
