Lieutenant Tetrahedrite

Traveling abroad was obviously a thing Gan had done before—he wasn’t from America, after all, but truth be told, he had not expected to be doing it any time soon. Yet here he was, in England of all places. This “new job” of his was certainly proving to be...interesting, to say the least.

The hotel accommodations were pretty nice, all told. Certainly better than most places he’d ever stayed. But he was here to do a job...of some kind. This whole “negaverse” thing was proving to be a bit crazy. Impressive. But scary.

Either way, though, it was apparently time for the proper briefing. He arrived in the conference room only s few minutes before the appointed time: he never believed in “hurry up and wait,” and if someone says 10, then that’s exactly what they meant. He entered the room and gazed around. Quite the array of people, to be sure. Not for the first time, he reflected upon how many of these “officers” were markedly younger than him.

What exactly that said about this secret war he’d been plunged into remained to be seen, but it couldn’t have been good.

With those thoughts in mind, he found himself a seat, and quietly sat down to hear about what was going on. That image on the screen was suitably dire.

Delphine Rousseau | Super Ceraskia of Scorn

Another twitch of a silver brow at the redhead over the young man's shoulder but that was all the attention she'd pay the other woman, for the moment.

Instead she let her attention return to the charming smile that was being directed back at her and full lips ticked up to match. "Delphine," she offered easily, her thumb running along the warm edge of her mug.

"And well enough. It's quite long, but I've done it twice now in the last couple of years and thankfully knew what to expect. I was able to keep myself comfortable and occupied." For the most part. There was only so much comfort available on a crowded flight, and one could only bury their attention in a book for so many hours.

The dancer took a quick sip of her tea, enjoying the way the warmth of it spread through her. "And you?" The mug lowered again. "How did you fair?"

And then the redhead very nearly fell right out of hr chair and Delphi jumped at the sharp sound of heels smacking the ground as she caught herself. Wide, dark eyes snapped to the angry face that appeared right at Gansey's shoulder, then narrowed.

Ashley Williams // Captain Reinerite

Ashley had taken note as others started to filter into the conference room, grey eyes quietly taking note of the others that had also been picked to be part of the mission-

Well at least she was assuming that they were fellow officers - because why else come to this particular room.

She waited. Snippets of conversations starting up here and there around her, Ashley letting it wash around her as it got closer and closer to 10

It struck her as she sat there that none of the other faces around her were familiar. At least not powered down as they all were-

Although it wasn't like she had done a lot of socialising with fellow officers while powered down - and this mission didn't really seem like the place to start.

A glance down at her wrist was enough to confirm that it was almost 10 just a a figure slipped into a seat a couple of seats up from her.

Another unfamiliar face, albeit from someone who was cutting it a bit fine.

Suri Ellis / General Zircon

Suri was already not a social person by nature, but her sleepless night had left her even more reserved, lingering near the table but not taking a seat herself, simply watching, waiting. Still, her expression lifted when she saw Regan and Trey, more mindful of the members of Chase's pack than the average fodder present. Something complicated tangled in her chest when she realized how coordinated they looked, whites and blues and youthful faces, though she hid her sudden grimace with a carefully timed sip of tea. Suri shoved the feeling down, somewhere deep in her mind where she wouldn't have to deal with it until she chose to.

"Good morning," she muttered dryly to the pair, a weak show at courtesy but an attempt nonetheless. With the table starting to fill, she drew her attention to the seats remaining and the ones occupied. Gansey got a raised brow from her, but she didn't intervene--while she would have preferred him to keep an eye on Miss Powers, she could only guess that reining him in would do nothing but cause him to chafe against the bonds. As long as he completed his tasks, she didn't particularly care to know what sort of trouble her lieutenant got himself into during his free time--in fact, she almost preferred not to know entirely. She made eye contact with Delphine only for a moment before she looked away, her gaze narrowed as she considered the opposite wall. Another complicated feeling to consider another day.

Suri glanced at her phone, tension starting to coil between her shoulder blades, and with a polite nod she excused herself to take her place next to Chase at the seat to his right, leaving the other side occupied for his favorite pet project. She thumbed between contacts, starting to type a message and then stopped, setting her phone face down on the table. It was too early, and there were business matters to attend to. She couldn't be excused simply because she wanted to call her cat, who was suddenly and unexpectedly now capable of speech.

Leaning back in her chair, Suri rubbed her face with her hands.

Gansey Gallagher // Lieutenant Aventurine

In the edge of his vision, Gansey got to watch London drop suddenly. With the girl almost falling out of her chair he had to hide the way his grin nearly shifted into a smirk but he couldn't stop the way his brows lifted in a smug manner.

Half tempted to ignore her in favor of the woman who was giving him positive intention, Gansey opted to refrain from responding for the moment. There was more pleasant conversation to be had.

"A pleasure," he replied. "A lovely, unique name for a unique beauty~" It was a little on the cheesy side, but a quick once over gave the brunet the impression that Delphine was a girl who needed to hear pretty, false compliments.

The other girl, however, seemed to need bit of something else and he was contemplating what that might be.

"Traveling is almost second nature these days," he replied in a breezy sort of way.

Now Gansey offered the other girl his attention, something akin to contempt showing when he decided to speak to her.

"If you think you can keep up, sure, I'll play with you Red." Her angry look was met with smugness, something only a man who'd never been denied anything in his life could have. "Based on this, I don't think you can though."

This guy made her want to wretch.

The girl on the other side of him could narrow her eyes and look as irritable as she wanted but, at the end of the day, she was the one entertaining such garbage, pointed attempts at flirting. It made her lip curl as she settled back in her chair, tapping furiously away on her phone. Her feet didn't go back to the table, at least.

If he had never answered her, she would have just chalked it up to his ego, but then he was look back at her with such a smug look on his face that her fingers twitched with the urge to knock his teeth out. Ever mindful of her no-nonsense boss, she narrowed her vibrant eyes at him in the same way his pretty, clueless new friend had at her.

"Don't confuse size and brute strength for stamina, dear."

The words were quick and sharp, low enough that no one outside of the three of them was even likely to hear it, but her gaze was fire.

Chase Black // General Labyrinthite

He waited until nearly all of the seats had been filled before he came to stand at the head of the table, Suri on one side of him and Prissy on the other once she arrived with Theodore in tow. Whiskey gold swept across the gathered, taking in each and every one of them that arrived on time or early. Notes were categorized away mentally and while his gaze settled on those he knew best for the longest, no one went without some of his scrutiny.

His gaze settled upon London, attention drawn when he heard the clatter of her feet. The look he gave her was one that she'd be familiar with. It said enough. The look passed over to Suri's subordinate as well before Suri got a look with a cocked brow that said get him under control or else.

Then, he glanced at his watch. The time had ticked to 10 AM on the dot, the doors to the conference room were close and anyone that arrived late would find themselves at the center of attention.

"Welcome," Chase started, hands folding behind his back, his voice carrying across the room. "A meeting so shortly after a long flight is not ideal, but the matter at hand is not something that can wait. Witzend has already been left vulnerable for far longer than we would like." It might have been more ideal to pull resources from an area closer, but this was something close to Laurelite and Labyrinthite had ensured that it would be handled and vengeance would be enacted as he saw fit.

"On the screen you'll see the various building that were targeted and damaged by a recent senshi attack. Senshi activity is extremely unusual outside of Destiny City," he explained for the new and bright-eyed among them. "We're here to find and neutralize the threats as well as establish our control here." Our was a loose term. "I've sent details to each of you via the tablets. As new information is uncovered details will be updated."

Behind him the images shifted to display locations that seemed of interest. "There are several areas in the city worth exploring to see what evidence we can find. You will be required to submit detail reports when there are any sightings or anything of note. I expect all of you to work together regardless of differences. In fighting is unacceptable. We are here to handle and neutralize the threats."

From the way he spoke it was clear that he would be handling punishments personally.

"Given that a seemingly small force," for what they saw, "took out the entire operation here, all senshi are to treated as hostiles. It's prefered we take them alive, but if necessary..." He trailed off, licking his lips as he seemed to straighten. "Use aggressive force with discretion. If you end up in a situation you cannot handle, utilize the communication functions of our tablets. Myself or one of mine will respond." He looked to Prissy and Regan, then Suri with an expectant look. Trey was passed over, if only because of his rank.

"I will assign additional missions and scoutings as I see fit." There was a pause, to allow all of this information to settle. "Are there any questions?"

From the way he presented himself, Chase expected each and every one of them to bend to his command. If he said jump, they were to respond with how high.

He had picked them all for a reason.

((OOC: Questions are to be asked as succinctly as possible! They will be answered and in approx 36 hours a post with Chase dismissing them will follow and they will be 'free' to proceed with any missions or prompts at player discretion. Please keep in mind the rules provided in the Mission and Location hubs!

Conversations may continue in hushed tones and once 'dismissed' you are free to use the Central Hub for mixing and mingling until Chase/Labyrinthite calls another meeting! All of these will be identifiable by the SHOUT style of post!))

Caleb Desrosiers // Eternal Carnelian

"It's a pleasure," Caleb nodded to the new Lieutenant, polite as could be. She might have been new, but Labyrinthite expected the utmost of best behavior from all of them. "How are you doing so far in the our organization? I don't think I've seen you around before, but then again, I don't really keep tabs on everyone. You must be very promising. The General doesn't pick just anyone."

And speak of the Devil himself...

Caleb kept his mouth shut while the General in charge filled them all in on the details of the mission. The senshi presence causing problems for the Negaverse overseas seemed unusual, so maybe they were all underground for a length of time and the Negaverse branch here got too cushy and stopped looking for them? Really, the redhead hadn't the slightest idea how things could have gone so wrong. But Labyrinthite was a problem-solver, bringing the best team he could to fix the issue.

He nodded along with Chase's explanation, demonstrating he was paying attention. The idea of going on a mission and seeing the sights was promising (and he even made a mental note not to slack off, since Chase... well... disciplinary action turned his arms to gooseflesh). The redhead hadn't any questions - the General got right to the point.

Shannon Mccord//Lieutenant Strengite

"Good. Thats, uh... good." Shannon smiled, admittedly a bit weakly, and patted the younger girl on the shoulder briefly before focusing back on the crowd that gathered. She honestly didn't know how to reply to the kid, she was a stray that Beni had picked up at some point not that it mattered. Shannon was just not always great with other's personal stuff, not unless she was using it for her own benefit. And Gisela's reason... that was completely foreign for Shannon. She was after power and money not family. But if that's what Gisela was after, good for her. "I'm sure you will do just fine." Shannon tried to reassure the younger woman even as she smiled at the silver haired man who took the empty seat on the other side of her.

He was a cutie! She was about to introduce herself when the clock must have hit ten because the big bad general in the front of the room started to talk. He ran down the facts and started to show locations of interest, some of them had Shannon's interest. They were mostly shops and bars but still. If it meant she could have fun while doing her job she will totally do it! She would just have to be careful who was around since she didn't want it to get back to mister stick in his a** that she was just using this mission as a vacation, which she totally wasn't... much.

And since the General major hottie opened the floor to questions it was a perfect time to ask, so Shannon raised her hand and when given permission she asked, "Have the local officers been informed of our arrival or will we have to deal with their interference during our missions?"

Chase Black // General Labyrinthite

Lips pressed into a frown when the first question had been asked. Dark eyebrows ticked inward, almost furrowing in response.

"There will be no interference from local agents." The pause between sentences was almost ominous. "Save for a pair of survivors, who gave all the intel they had, everyone serving here in Witzend is deceased."

His gaze flickered over to Suri for a moment before returning to Shannon.

"The survivors are incapacitated due to injuries and are in no position to assist. They are to be left alone as well, for anyone who was wondering."

Suri Ellis / General Zircon

Suri knitted her fingers to cover her mouth, silent and attentive through Chase's presentation. Some of the images were those she'd been presented with, some new, but as his primary organization officer it would be her duty to commit these places and events to memory, a task she took with all gravity.

But the interesting news came in the QnA, when some woman asked about the Witzend forces. Suri glanced over at Chase just in time to meet his gaze, her eyebrows lifted.

Oh.

Her mouth twitched, and she blinked to look away, her gaze cast at no one in particular. Still silent, she leaned back in her chair and folded her hands in her lap, before anyone could see the way they shook.

Gisela Louise -- Corrupted Super Sailor Noctua

Gisela was perfectly willing to just sit back and allow things to happen around her until one thing that Chase said struck a chord with her. Everyone is deceased? Suddenly things began to become a little clearer for Gisela. Why they were here. Their greater purpose. Slowly, one dark, bone-slender hand rose into the air and she didn't bother to wait to be called on.

"If there are no survivors, what is the plan for after we have secured the Senshi threat? Are you expecting more officers to train or are we going to create a branch of officers by corrupting others to serve here?"

Or would some of them be relegated to this city to serve, never to return home again?

[Elliot Donoghue || Lt. Ransomite]

Elliot's attention was drawn by the welcome from the man at the front of the room, pulled away from conversation with the person who'd spoken to him. His fingers drummed idly, silently, as he listened to what he was being told. Being among the new and bright-eyed, he made sure to commit the information to memory. He had the feeling that the senshi generally kept their activities to the city, but it was still good to hear it confirmed.

He watched the screen images change, glanced down at the tablet in front of him when it was referenced. Detailed reports? That was fine. He was no stranger to paperwork.

It wasn't fun, but he wouldn't have any issue with it.

He also didn't foresee having issues working with anyone. As long as no one tried to boss him around undeservedly, he fancied himself relatively cooperative.

Having backup be pointed out was helpful, and Elliot made note of the faces that were specified. He did note that they had permission to use force. That was something he was admittedly hesitant about, if only because Elliot had not particularly made a lifelong habit of getting into brawls. He could hold his own relatively well in a scrap if he had to, but he tended not to want to have to.

He would figure it out.

The last thing he wanted was to end up like the local agents.

Isaac Harrison || Lt. Dravite

After the frail young girl had a chance to pose her question, Isaac raised his hand to give voice to one of his concerns.

"To follow up with the first question, if I may ask, do we need to worry about local authorizes or government officials interfering with our missions?" It seemed to reason that with an entire branch all but wiped out that someone would be looking into the mysterious disappearances or deaths centered in such a concise location; that is assuming there were bodies left behind for them to find.

The last thing he wanted was to unintentionally add civilians, those not privy to this war, to end up on the list of unintended causalities.

Nuxaz
Dravite asks if they need to worry about police officers, detectives.. non Negaverse officials interfering.

I apologize, I have re-read the posts so far several times but I feel like this was possibly already addressed and I'm just not seeing it. I can delete this post if that's the case and I'm just being a derp.

Iliel Vandal // Capt. Boleynite

"Mack," she breathed with a full-lipped smile, at once both genuine and eager. But the gesture was, necessarily, hardly more than that with Chase opening so soon after her arrival.

All retort, all derision, all irritation aimed at her once-classmates withered like a starseed husk the moment Chase spoke. She always imagined his voice to be a smooth, jazzy, almost musical number, like the kinds she would hear in upstart jazz clubs or anniversary meets for alumni students. Something unpolished yet characteristically attractive. But Iliel never scrounged any sound-enabled video of Chase or Labyrinthite. Cameras seemingly never touched on the man.

Which was well and proper, she decided, as her hands cinched in her lap. Fingers laced between each other in a rehearsed manner, one copied from the likes of other generals in his stead. Other cohorts too, she decided, as her lilac gaze found Prissy almost immediately. The golden girl, the favorite. Iliel did and did not envy her.

But she loved her posture nonetheless. Delight only remedially apparent, Iliel shifted in her seat and squared her shoulders back with a smug, albeit crimped, smile. She even spared her boys a look askance, one that lingered a moment before she returned to the topic at hand. They did have a mission, after all, and Iliel aimed for notice through positive action rather than stupid questions. Even a good one might garner some modicum of notice, but never enough to outpace a proper track record. This, she decided, was something she learned in short order and ******** learned y accident. Plaguebitten troll that he was.

Licking lips, Iliel preserved her choked posture as she looked from the fielded question-bearers to Shelly. "Topher could make a good meat shield. Or punching bag if we need to practice before the road.

"Now if one of you would be so kind as to ask our fearless leader if there's a map of all known ambush points in the area?"
