User ImageCharacter: Raspbina Luckwyn
Current Square: 3 to 8
Response: When he still didn't answer anything she had asked or comment on anything she had said, Raspbina narrowed her eyes on him. He may be cute, but rudeness was definitely a turn off. "Tch, whatever," she muttered and sighed. She really should focus more on finding clues than on flirting with the rude cutie. Reaching a hand up, she gently pet her new flitterat friend. "Do you see anything, little dude?" she asked him and smiled a little. At least when he didn't answer it was because he couldn't talk.

She poked around in the flowers a bit, pushing them back and forth to look everywhere she could while still trying to ignore Mr. Adorable and Rude. She couldn't fully put him out of her mind, though. There was just something about him that told her to keep an eye on him. He just seemed to ooze swagger. She wasn't usually attracted to that. He also seemed... sneaky. Like a "watch your purse" kind of sneaky. Speaking of...

Raspbina slid her hands in her pockets. She hadn't brought anything too important, just some ID and her phone, but still. She sighed. She really wanted to trust people as blindly as her sister did, but she just couldn't. There were days when she tried harder than other, but there was always that little voice in the back of her head screaming out all the "what if" questions about ulterior motives. She knelt in the grass and let her flitterat float to the ground, smiling a bit as he poked around the flowers.

When another Nightmare approached, she looked up and smiled at him. "Sure thing. Hey, what's your name so I know who to call for?"

User ImageCharacter: Clare
Current Square: 7 to 8
Response: Clare listened to Sierra's explanation with deep concern, her hand clutching her jacket collar. Euphoria-inducing flowers? People could hurt themselves! She quickly headed after her, turning briefly to smile and wave goodbye to Devon who seemed content to explore in another direction. Turning back to follow Sierra, she let out a small moan when she realised the determined grimm had already made significant movement in the opposite direction. Grasping the bottom of her dress, Clare made chase to catch up to Sierra, wanting to hear more about her theories on the area. She began to slow, however, as her running turned to skipping. Why was she so worried again? They were in a field of beautiful flowers, surrounded by nature and new friends. What's the rush?

Smiling blissfully, Clare twirled twice before falling to the ground with a giggle, delicately perching herself on the soft flowers. She plucked one to lift to her nose, inhaling the beautifully sweet scent. She had found paradise, after all. She spent a few minutes sitting in the flowers giggling to herself, when suddenly a movement pulled her out of her trance. It was the flitterat - it had crawled down Milky's back to nibble at Clare's fingers.
"Ow, hey! What's gotten into you?" She scolded. Once again aware of herself and her surroundings, Clare began to frown. Why was she sitting in some flowers? Pete- Dr. Horn could be dying somewhere right now and she was what, stopping to smell the drugged up flowers? She quickly threw away the one she was holding and stood up, glaring at the ground she'd been sitting on. "How could I be so foolish?" She muttered bitterly. Shameful. With a small 'thank you' to the flitterat, she quickly hurried in a new direction. Anywhere but here.

Character: Sierra
Current Square: 12-13
Response: Walking with her gaze among the flowers she quickly spotted the parchment among them, dashing forward she grabbed it before the breeze could whisk it away, and looking down wind saw another of the party- so she assumed- apparently replacing something in her bag. Something that made Sierra feel suspicious, although to be fair most people made her feel that way. So she pulled out her own book and tucked the flower pressed page away before turning back to the Kirin who said “Hello” to her…..quickly pulling her persona back on like a favoured garment she raised a paw to wave to the kirin.

Calling out she said “Why hello there, aren’t you just a doll!” and laughed. She couldn’t outright kill, but killing with kindness- there had to be a reason that expression was used right? “I found something interesting….” She trailed off as the being continued moving along their path. Sierra altered her trajectory to run parallel to that of the kirn. She was still cautious of the yellow flowers, and concious of her new Precious but now she had a third to keep track of, and as though she was strolling to meet a friend she made her way towards the other. Noting their movements, looking for signs of euphoria or anything else untoward. Not deigning to continue yelling she simply walked up smiling and bid her time untill their paths drew close again.

For a few moments she lost sight of the other, but simply kept along her intended path and waited, ears perked until again the kirin popped out of the flowers…..and still Sierra strolled closer and closer still.

Character: Latros
Current Square: 7 to 12
Response:
Their ears perked up a bit as their twin tugged at their sleeve, smiling over them. ”Don’t worry, we can stick together. I don’t like splitting up, but…” They looked over the field, spying the various others searching around as well. Some were too far away to talk to easily, or at all, but they could still keep a few eyes out to make sure nobody was in trouble. ”...As long as we watch out for everyone I think we’ll be fine.”

They watched as the other hybrid parted ways with them, waving at them as they did before turning their attention back to looking for clues. It was sort of hard though, this area was just...pristine, beautiful, it didn’t seem like a place where they’d find anything but cool bugs, neat flowers, kinda wanted to just run around and enjoy the surroundings.

But that would be silly, they were here to search for someone who they never really got a good description of. At least the degrees would be nice. Though they would still have to decide on what to get. Underwater basket weaving was the obvious choice, but would that be really useful when they already made stuff around their place already? Besides, getting wet was kinda...eeeeehhhh…

”What do you think Buggy? Any clues around here?” The flitterat on their shoulder bit them again at the name, but otherwise didn’t seem to have any good ideas. Their ears perked up a bit as they scanned around, looking for anything that might seem out of place.

      END OF DAY TWO
If you have been quoted the same prompt, it is because you have not moved since the last update!
This does not mean you can claim a familiar or trinket a second time.

      Prompt for Square 4

You've wandered deep into a field of grass and long-stemmed flowers now. They are growing taller than your waist - it feels as though if you go much further, you might get lost.

      Obnoxious Obscurity

      Prompt for Square 7

It's hard to resist running through these meadows with your arms outspread, singing a show tune.

      Lady Angel Heart

      Prompt for Square 8

You come across a suspicious patch of plain grass, with one single, vivid flower growing in the middle, swaying lightly in the breeze. As you go to inspect the flower you feel a crunch under your foot - small, cracked bones are buried in the soft grass. Looking closer at the ground in the clearing, there a small piles of bones scattered everywhere. Perhaps it would be best to leave the flower alone.

      Prompt for Square 15

You've strayed deep into the meadows now, where the flowers are beginning to grow up to your waist. You think you feel something brush against your leg. A few moments of silence past then there, the sensation comes again. Before you can react, a swarm of small insects appear around you. Despite not having expressions, you can tell by their ominous buzzing that they are not pleased you are there. Quickly, run!

      Prompt for Square 18

You've strayed into a very small forest that stand near the middle of the meadows. It is only a few trees deep and, at the very centre, there is a fairy ring of mushrooms growing. Something tells you that it wouldn't be wise to lick one of these mushrooms. In the middle of the ring, there is a clear indent in the grass; it looks like something heavy has been placed here before.

Character: Coralynne
Current Square: 18 to 19
Response: The world around Coralynne had changed from the meadow she had been searching before. She was now surrounded by frost trees. Looking back over her shoulder, she could still see the yellow flowers of the meadow and the sunshine through the trucks of the trees. A sigh of relief left her lungs that she hadn’t wondered to far to get lost.

Pressing on, Coralynne noticed something to the center of the frost patch she was now walking through. Now what is that, she thought but still couldn’t make out. As she got closer, she noticed that it was a ring of perfectly arranged mushrooms; a fairy ring. Now don’t go Alice and Wonderland on me and try to lick one of those mushrooms, her muse, always so helpful, giggled at her. Coralynn ignored the mental comment and noticed that there was some kind of impression in the center of the rings grass. Something heavy had been placed there and now was gone. But what? It must be a clue, but she had no idea what to make of it.

Coralynn turning to leave since she couldn’t really take the clue with her. As she came out of the frost, she heard a voice from the grid in front of her. It was the beautiful powder pale blue grimm she had said hello to earlier. “Hello again, interesting you say?” Coralynne had found something as well but she wasn’t to sure what. “I also found something in the frost patch behind me,” she called out and pointed behind herself. “What did you find?” she asked with curiosity. In a rust and not wanting to be rude she added “My name is Coralynne by the way.” She hadn’t met many others yet, but she was beginning to think it might be because she hadn’t introduced herself which was the first step to making a friend.

Character: Cyan
Current Square: 15 to 20
Response:

Cyan and Honey had been minding their own business, chatting away as they wandered through the thick grass. Finally, after what felt like ages, the grass line and flowers started to recede. The height was finally around Cyan's waist. It was a bit of a relief, feeling like Cyan had a little more control over her surroundings. Although, she guessed that the previous patch of the meadow could have been a great getaway should something event turned south. She could have vanished in to the thick overgrowth and no one would be any wiser.

Mid sentence, Cyan felt something brush up again her leg. She paused, peering down at the grass as if to try and see past all the greenery and straight to the cause. Was it her mind playing tricks? Or perhaps another flitterat wanting to say hello? Or maybe a kindly jackelope! Oooh, or --- !

Cyan's thoughts were cut off as a swarm of insects suddenly were upon her. The bounty hunter's eyes grew wide. They seemed ... angry! Had she squashed their nest by mistake trudging carelessly through the meadows without any afterthought? There were just too many of them. Cyan had to run.

Exchange a quick look with Honey, the flitterat curled up in the cup and Cyan placed her hand overtop so that the familiar wouldn't fly out as Cyan booked it out of the area to get away from the onslaught of creepy crawlies.

Should Cyan really put that much thought in to why this was happening? Bugs could attack for any reason. But this many? And this aggressively? It was like someone was controlling them. Or maybe Cyan really had just stuck her big ol' foot in to a giant a** nest and smooshed it.

Typical Cyan. Always ******** it up for the little guys.

Character: Devon
Current Square: 4 to 9
Response: “My name is Doctor Devon Holloway. I will do my best to respond to any of my name or title called, but I feel like I may be out of earshot of some.” Devon responded to the woman with a nod. They still didn't know their name, but that was probably because they didn't ask. That was probably rude. Oh well, they could probably fix that at some other point, right? Is that how these things worked?

They shrugged as they moved forward, glancing about the grass that seemed to be growing ever higher. The frowned at the inconvenient foliage. They were no explorer. If they were to continue this way, they were likely to get lost. Then what use would they be for everyone else? Would anyone send a search party for them when that happened, when no one to even know he went missing in the first place? Likely not. It was probably best for them to change direction.

With a resolute nod, they turned towards the north and set off. They were able to spot the fellow that they were unable to speak to, and the red head lady they had talked to only moments ago. They supposed they could call out and talk to them from a distance, but they did seem to be keeping each other company- anything they could add to a conversation was probably not necessary, and possibly not even wanted. Better to keep their nose out of it. If they wanted to include them, they would. It was better to just keep going.

Character: Lycos
Current Square: 12 to 13
Response:

Well, with all the flowers around, the sky so clear and the people around them seeming to have so much fun and nothing whatsoever going wrong at all, Lycos honestly could see themself staying in the field forever. Er, some of the people searching seemed to furrow their brows once or twice, but surely if there was something alarming, they'd be hearing loud screaming. Sure, some voices were raising, but that was completely different from the loud screams of terror.

So it was even more of a pleasant surprise when, upon feeling some crinkling under their paws, they looked down and saw a few pages. Possibly torn out a book or a journal, but what was the most interested were the pressed flowers that decorated the page. Different colors, different sizes, and they all still had interesting smells. With a small gasp, Lycos simply sat down, picked up the two pages, and held them up for their twin to see.

"Look, Latros, look!" Carefully, they waved the pages to and fro, just enough to try and gain the attention of their twin. "Hey, so, they probably came through, right? and they thought the flowers were cool enough to do this, right? so....this area's important, isn't it?" Really, they didn't know what to think. This was a lot of information to take in, and this was besides the fact that they were out of their element. But overall? They loved it so far. and this page of flowers? Well, it was theirs now.

Response:
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Maarika said nothing to the two, as they parted ways, still hurt and offended by the actions of the one. As far as she could tell, she was done with them, because why would she spend time with someone who made her feel like scum for being herself? She could go home for that, and since she did not want that in her life, she would avoid the one who made her feel that way. It was a pity, she liked the other but they seemed to be unable to separate. A little disturbing, really, how overly clingy they were.

She almost missed the find, but a bug had caused her to turn and notice the lovely flower in the middle of the plain grass... And then the horrifying bone pile beneath them. She stared, her jaw dropped, and was unable to speak at first. She grabbed her camera and began to take photos, because this needed to be recorded, as soon as possible. There was a long moment of silence, after she took all the photos, before she called out "Stay away from this clearing. It is DANGEROUS." She hoped the others exploring heard her, because she did not have a way to send a mass message, nor did she have anything with her that she could use to make warning signs around the clearing.

After she made her loud declaration, she bit her lip... and then continued to move west, heading away from the flower in a hurried fashion. She did NOT want to be the next victim of that.

Current Square: 13-14
Response: Continuing ahead she found that she had reached the center of the meadow and did a slow small spin- it was gorgeous here…...so pretty and enchanting……….wait- enchanting something about that word struck her oddly…..and then she heard a voice off to one side. It took her a moment to place it……..they were talking about things being interesting and finding something……..OH YEAH! The missing Dr…..and the parchment she’d found….and the yellow flowers……..*She looked down and found herself standing in a mass of the bloody things. With a small low snarl she kicked her way out of them and called back to the voice. “ Well darling I’ll need you to be more specific about what you found……”Something in a patch” Doesn’t help me much. I found a parchment, with pressed flowers upon it, the purple ones. Oh and do be careful, the Yellow Flowers appear to cause a sense of Euphoria in one that induces forgetfulness. Coralynne huh- well the pleasure is all mine, I am Sierra Raylene. So tell me what you found in that patch, and I’m gonna continue ahead hoping to meet up with you dear. This time she was more cautious about the yellow flowers, more cautious than even before. And more determined too. Even though it might hamper her she pulled a kerchief out of her bag and wrapped it about her muzzle, to act as a mask of sorts to keep the pollen from the yellows from getting ot her so much.

Response:

Kerrick folded his arms across his chest and smirked even more when he saw her knee jerk reaction to check her pockets like he was a threat.

"Oh this was going to be a very fun time indeed" his mind was racing. This hot red headed female was wary of him which would make the cat and mouse game even more intriguing.

She tried to pretend he was not bothering her but he knew he was. When her flitterrat climbed down he thought he saw her hand tremble. Could have been his imagination.

He turned his attention to the barren patch of ground with one single vivid flower in the middle. It seemed out of place even his new familiar friend seemed wary of it.

Kerrick carefully checked around the flower with the weird dirt as he worked he heard a crunch like something snapping or being broken. He froze not knowing what he had done.

Slowly moving his hands he saw some bones scattered in the dirt beneath the flower. It gave him a creepy feeling like he should not disturb them. He slowly got to his feet and backed away.

He recalled hearing a new voice before moving to the new square. Turning he acknowledged them with a nod and said "Thanks for telling me your a doctor if anyone needs help I will direct them to you" and continued onwards to the next area.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.As Maarika moved away from the horrifying flower and it's deadly trap, she found a mass of bugs in the air, all of a sudden. She relaxed in pleasure, and lifted her camera to began photographing the many insectoids. She saw so many, most of them species she had never encountered before, and they came in so many shapes and colors. Her expression was bright with happiness, and she snapped away, trying to capture as many of them as she could, so that she could use their varied forms and patterns to create more ideas for beautiful, gemmed protectors or the myriad of other things she enchanted her jewels with.

She was snapping a photo when suddenly there was a silvery gray fluff in front of the lens, blocking her view entirely. She blinked and lowered her camera... and found an adorable fluffbug hovering in front of her face. She stared at it for a long moment, and it buzzed in close, before settling on her arm, the purple eyes of the bug flickering back and forth between hers. Her friendly little flitterrat from before darted down her shoulder to sniff at it, and the two seemed to exchange some kind of communication... And then she laughed as the fluffbug flew up further, coming to land on one of her antlers. "So I have two friends joining me now. Alright, little one, you are welcome to join us. I hope you can help me out, little friend. I believe I shall call you Antoinette."

Character: Coralynne
Current Square: 19 to 24
Response: Before the grimm could answer Coralynne, a mass passes over the sun blocking the rays and casting a shadow over her. “What the heck is that?” She says to the ski. *Woosh* the mass zooms past Coralynne. Landing on a small tree in front of her, Coralynne can now she that the mass was very brightly and beautifully colored bird of some kind. Sitting in the tree with its wing stretched to the full length, Coralynne is in awe of the wondrous bird. “Where did you come from?”, she said the bird as if he would answer. As she moved around, she noticed the strange and beautiful bird was following her. “Are you coming with me?” she asked. As if to answer her, the bird left its perch and landed next to her. “Ok then off we go.”

The grimm had started talking to Coralynne so she turned her attention back to her. “Oh, you found a parchment with purple flowers too?” Coralynn said with curiosity. How many of these pages are in this field, she wondered to herself. “I found a fairy patch in the frost behind me. In the center of the patch is an impression of something heavy enough to crush the grass. I can’t really tell what was there, but it’s gone now.” Coralynne wasn’t sure she was making any since, but she was trying. “I think I’m going to head deeper into the frost patch and see if there are more clues,” she said to Sierra. “If I don’t see you send a search party for me,” Coralynne smiled at the comment after all she was the search party for the Doctor.

Moving back into the frost she really hoped everything would be ok. “Alright birdy here we go,” she said to her new companion. “Maybe you can keep me out of danger,” but the bird didn’t offer much reassurance on the matter.
