Drac seemed relieved that he said it was the right size; she would have to thank John for accurate deduction."I'm glad then."And with that, Dr. Lenz walked with Chase to greet Cindy Lou who was warm and welcoming as usual. Drac was distracted in her thoughts of getting everything ready, and Ms. Lou understood that which was why she handed the keys to Miss Lenz without hesitation. After waving them both off, Cindy went back to starting her work.
Walking with Chase now to the gardens, it seemed there might be a break in her thoughts in hearing his offer. Smiling softly, she would politely decline.'Alright, so Willow will be here in an hour...John, in about thirty minutes or so.'Drac thought as she unlocked the door, keeping thoughts on work, though keeping Chase company for now."I usually have one a little later,"Dr. Lenz explained calmly and kindly as she would step out into the garden, the first rays of the sun starting to kiss the garden; or so she liked to think of it at least. She would then turn to her acolyte when they stepped into the fresh air whose scent was a variety of plants.
Blue-gray eyes turned to focus on Chase then before she would start walking over to the hut. As Chase would've learned, there are two rooms to the hut in the garden; the front being where he could get things for the garden, and the back room being where Drac has told him not to go as the Apothecary section. It was really the only place that was off-limits to anyone But Drac herself."If there are no questions,"The doctor said then with a slight bow,"I shall let you start in the garden."Drac smiled kindly, allowing him to gather the tools needed while she began walking to the back room.

Maybe? He still wasn't sure, it would take some getting used to. Dr. Lenz would unlock the door before responding that she usually had a cookie later, her reasoning for why she didn't want one now. As she stepped from the cooler confines of the clinic to warmer air, Chase would follow suit with his hound. He would feel the sun again on his skin, the fresh air of the outdoors, and notice the strange mix of scents from all the herbs of the garden. It was a...strange, if not unwelcome, contrast from the clinic itself. Cold sterility for warmth of nature, in a way. Chase just hoped, knowing his tasks for the day, that it would not get any hotter than it was currently. His hound though was certainly happy to have fresh air rather than be in the clinic. Pulling weeds, while simple sounding and easy, could get more demanding because of the number and time spent to get rid of all of them. He would be broken from such thoughts as Dr. Lenz would turn to face him, his eyes looking studiously up to hers. It did not last long though, as she would turn and begin to walk to her hut. 'It seems it is time to get to work.' He thought to himself, knowing the tools he needed would be in the hut and that Dr. Lenz's apothecary section. One of the very few rooms he had been told was off limits to him for the clinic. Though besides her, he hadn't really noticed anyone else go in there. Though...with how weeding was and his desire to excel, he wasn't always paying attention to such things. As they reached the hut, she would turn again to him with a small bow. Asking if there was anything else, and if not, he may get started. Chase merely shook his head. "No, but thank you Dr. Lenz. I should be able to manage from here." He would say with a slight smile and small bow of his own.
As Dr. Lenz headed to the back room, Chase would head for the front. Thoughts of where she would be and what she would do had left his mind for now; he had work to do, and only while working for a while would he let his mind wander. First and foremost, knwoing the nature of the work, Chase would take off the gloves for his uniform and put them in a pocket for now. Exchanging them instead for gardening gloves. He would also get a small trowel, as while he may not need it, it was good to be prepared. Finally, he would get a small foam board; a place to put his knees on while not needing to worry about dirtying his uniform that way. All the supplies he needed acquired, for now at least, he would head back to the garden. He would place the board down at the usual start spot; the center, but between cariovacular and nervous system sections. He liked to move from right to left in the triangles of the circle to ensure he missed very little if anything. Placing trowel down beside it as well, he would not sit down immediately. Instead, he would walk along the paths the same way he intended to weed them; to allow him to spot which areas had weeds and how many. A way for him to plan ahead as he went and mentally check-mark things to ensure he didn't miss anything. It also was a good last stretch of his legs as his task would involve a lot of kneeling and hunching over. Once satisfied, he would return to the start point and begin the process of weeding; using his hands if there was little resistance, and the trowel if he was unable to take out the roots as well. Making sure to fill in and even out any holes made by his actions. His mind was fairly preoccupied; cross referencing what was weed and what was medicinal plant. As well as making notes of any plants that seemed to not be doing well; maybe not exactly where they were, but the number at least so he could let Dr. Lenz know later. While not an expert in the plants yet, he had made sure to study at least enough to identify weed from medicinal plant. He would go on to do this for quite some time; while not too many weeds were there, the process was not a fast one. As he was doing his work, his hound would casually walk and sit besides him at times; though if it ever got hot enough, or he felt like a break, he would return to the garden section of the hut to rest in the shade. Chase would take breaks every so often, rising to his feet to walk a few laps through the garden, before inevitably returning to where he left off to work; his hound usually accompanying him.
As an hour went by, activities of the clinic would go as was normal routine. The nurse had arrived and gotten dressed for her time today and Dr. Lenz was with the first patient of the day. So, Ms. Alden took it upon herself to do anything to assist. After she got some free time though, she would go into the garden. "Hello there," Ms. Alden greeted, her voice was that of a young woman with a gentle mezzo-soprano and her uniform was that of a gentle rose, much like her hair. "You must be Chase, I'm assuming of course." Willow stated as she was closer, though she gave him space, stopping about a yard from his person. "My...he's an adorable kid. The doc was right." She couldn't help but think. Although it was ironic since she was only about three years older than him.
Once he was up, she would bow slightly, clipboard close to herself."I'm Nurse Alden, but please call me either Miss Alden or Willow." She would introduce herself since it was really the first time they were speaking to one another. Rose-colored eyes would look from him to the canine that was accompanying the young man. She smiled at the sight and blushed in happiness. "Oh how cute!" She gushed towards the big puppy. She would then compose herself, clearing her throat then to look at the young man once again. "Dr. Lenz did inform me that we would be working together today." She stated then smiled kindly. "I hope we work well together. I'm just going to show you then ropes of a Clinic Volunteer. Any questions?" She asked, getting straight down to business.

He wasn't sure what happened, but all the weeds were the difficult type and not easy to remove. Each requiring the trowel just to get rid of the roots, and with Chase's own nature, having to restore the earth a bit by filling the holes he dug to make it look nice. He had been hoping to finish most of the garden quickly, before he would be summoned to help Nurse Willow, but the weeds were against him. He had only gone through about a quarter of the garden, the sun beating down on him a bit and making him a little dehydrated, when he would hear someone enter the gardens. He scarcely had enough time to turn before he would hear a female voice calling him in greeting. As he would freeze slightly, having a little awareness of her arrival but not enough time to truly process nor expecting her to greet him, he would slowly turn his head towards the speaker. He would see an an average height female with long pink hair and darker pink eyes. Seeming to be wearing a similarly pink version of the uniform Chase was wearing. She would assume he was Chase to which he would give a hesitant nod to her; having conflicted feelings of if he should continue working or if he should rise to give her a more formal greeting. He noted she would stop about a yard away from him. 'It seems this is more than a passing greeting.' He thought to himself silently as he gently placed the trowel down and pushed himself up from his knees to a standing position. Stretching slightly due to now having the opportunity to stretch his cramping legs as he would see their height difference; he seemed a decent bit taller than her. He also noted she had a clipboard with her as well. Realizing for a moment he may have been staring, he would blush softly and look down; seeming to shrink on himself slightly.
He would notice, from his peripheral, her give him a slight bow and introduced herself as Nurse Alden. 'Ah, she is the one I am supposed to aid.' He thought to himself, slightly embarrassed he had forgotten she was the one. Even if they had never spoken before to one another. Despite just wanting to shyly respond and not look up, his grooming in youth took over. He would offer a small, formal, bow in return. "G-greetings ...Miss Alden. You are...correct to...call me Chase." He would respond nervously, pausing at the name as he wanted to say nurse Alden rather than miss. His crimson eyes only briefly meeting hers before dutifully looking to the ground. While he had been growing more confident with Dr. Lenz, the other staff here was a different situation. His shyness and work under Dr. Lenz had allowed him to have minimal interaction with them in the past but she seemed to want to change that for the poor boy. He would notice her eyes move away from him, and following them, he would see they had landed on his Hound. She would gush how cute the Hound was, to which it would give a happy bark in return; having already been told when they entered the clinic to be on stand-down behavior. Chase found it...a rather strange contrast from Dr. Lenz as the woman was clearly the more visibly emotional of the two, and he was unsure how to feel on that. She would clear her throat, and say something Chase already knew but still felt anxiety at hearing; they would be working together today under Dr. Lenz's orders. Even if she had a kind smile, he was still nervous about the idea of it. 'What if she has heard of my past and is only pretending because of Dr.Lenz?' He thought in slight paranoia, having a hard time to trust most times.
She would continue to say she hoped they worked well together, that she would show him the ropes as a clinic volunteer, and if he had any questions. Chase seemed to be lost in thought for a moment, and slight panic. 'Am I not staff then? Was the uniform for honorary volunteer position then or what...' He wondered to himself silently, knowing he had been a volunteer initially and just unsure if this was like upper tier volunteer now or if Dr. Lenz just hadn't told anyone else yet. Though he felt she would've told them. But it still made it confusing for him as he had such thoughts with her and never asked them...debating if he should ask the Nurse here or wait till he saw Dr, Lenz again. Though by just her enthusiasm alone...he figured he could keep such questions for Dr. Lenz. He also did not want to seem like he was arrogant or deserved such a position. "I...I hope so as well. Apologies but...may I...change my gloves before...we proceed?" He would respond politely but refused to meet her eyes as he spoke this time. Having to take a few subtle, deep breaths to calm his internal nerves. His last question was so he could switch from garden gloves to the new clinic gloves; not desiring to be out of uniform, even for that slight detail, once they were back inside the clinic. He would not do so till she gave permission; and once she did he would calmly, if a little hurriedly, go to switch gloves before returning.
Nurse Alden would smile kindly to the nice young man. As he would stand, her eyes would follow up with his face, keeping eyes from wandering. "Wow, you're tall," She stated before she could stop herself. The nurse then chuckled, smiling sheepishly and apologized for the comment; before bowing and introducing herself. "It's a pleasure to meet you then, Chase." Willow responded with genuine kindness and warmth. Her attentions on the dog then being noted by the good boy's bark. She absolutely loved dogs, and cats, and Well, any animal really.
Her attentions back on Chase, she smiled up at the boy's crimson eyes with her rose ones. "Though we may not talk much, Dr. Lenz thinks of the boy as family already. And I can see why," She thought absently to herself. Her expression became kinder as she spotted his nervousness. Reaching out with her free hand, she would kindly pat his upper arm (as she couldn't reach his head) in a comforting manner. "There's no need to be nervous, with me. Or anyone. You are safe here," She told him with sincerity. Ms. Alden would then let go and get back to duties.
She then got distracted...again. "Oh! Right," She exclaimed as if remembering something important. "Dr. Lenz had some papers for you to sign before you become officially a part of the staff. You know, work related things," She said and then the subject would return to their duties for today. "For today though, you will be with me...But, yes, please change your gloves," She would say before politely shooing him off.
Once in the garden apothecary/hut he would see the faintest of dragon's blood red glow come from under the door. The one that Dr. Lenz had gone through, but hadn't left since they last saw one another this morning.

While not at all seen as insulting, it was something he was self conscious of just cause...it made him harder to just blend in to the crowd and everything. Her laugh too made him wonder if it was at his shyness and shrinking in of himself; though it would soon prove to be false as she apologized for the comment. Seeming to mean it was more of a surprise observation than anything bad, with the laugh more to herself for just blurting it out. At least Chase hoped was so given her sheepish smile after her comment and apology. She would bow and introduce herself, saying it was a pleasure to meet him. He could hear warmth and kindness in her voice...he just wasn't sure if it were truly genuine or if this was just the standard kind of greeting clinic staff were expected to give to others. He would see her gaze shift to dog, as he barked, and back to him as her expression changed slightly. He thought it perhaps kindness but was very much unsure. As she reached out with her free hand, he flinched slightly away but...allowed her to continue as she touched his upper arm. Feeling fairly uncomfortable but allowing her to...pat it. She would say there was no need to be nervous with her or anyone and that he was safe... 'Am I truly?' He questioned himself as he remembered the night he met Dr. Lenz. It was so easy for people to shift and turn violent, in his mind, like himself. He may have felt safe around Dr. Lenz...but he wasn't sure if he could be around the others, despite her assurance. 'Perhaps...Dr. Lenz wants me to feel so, and that is why I am working with Nurse today.' He thought to himself, relaxing ever so slightly but still unsure. He would try for her, at the very least. Looking towards the nurse, he would see she seemed a bit distracted...before seeming to remember something with an exclamation.
Chase almost jumped at the sudden explanation, not having expected the energy so quickly after that, but managed to hold his ground as it were. She would mention Dr. Lenz had papers he needed to sign to officially be one of the staff here, explaining it as work related things. 'So....I am staff then?' He questioned to himself, having a confusing mix of responses from the nurse so far and unsure. Either way, if it was something Drac desired him to do he would do it. And perhaps learn more upon reading the papers themselves. She would then continue to say for today though he would be with her regardless, and gave him permission to get the gloves as she...politely shooed him off? He wasn't quite sure how to describe it, but there seemed to be no malice or ill-intent associated with it as far as he could tell. Nodding politely, he would move away from her to the shed. As he did so though, he would notice the faintest red glow from beneath the door Dr. Lenz had gone through...unsure the exact red, or what was going on in that room as she hadn't left it despite all of his garden work. While curious, he was not one to pry, and simply noted it before exchanging gloves neatly. He would be back for it later on, he assumed, but that didn't mean he should not keep it tidy. Clinic gloves on, he would return to the nurse and his hound. The hound having chosen to wait by the nurse for his masters return. Once Chase had rejoined them, he would hesitantly speak. "I am...ready. Please lead...the way." He would say slowly and quietly, eyes still not up to meeting hers despite them being downcast.
Nurse Alden almost frowned as he seemed to flinch from her touch but, would continue, hoping to reassure him, if nothing else. Though she noticed his doubt, she was hopeful that in time as he spent it more at the clinic, that too will fade. Despite her kindness, she was also one to be goal-oriented. After reminding him/informing him of the papers he would need to fill out later before letting him leave to change his gloves. While waiting, she would kneel before the pup and introduce herself slowly by reaching out a palm for him to scent her. If allowed, she would give the pup a kind petting behind the right ear; if not, she would stay where she was, but either way, she would let him come to her. Although it would please her to pet him. "I think my sister would've liked you," She told him sweetly, smiling softly at the thought of her sister.
Upon Chase's return, she would slowly and calmly stand once again. Taking out a small bottle of hand sanitizer from the pocket of her uniform, she carefully, yet precisely measure the appropriate amount to clean her hands with as her rose-colored eyes met his crimson once again. Once told he was ready, she would nod slightly. "Okay, first patient is actually a pretty easy one," Willow responded before turning and leading the way back into the clinic itself.
Heading to the receptionist's desk, she smiled and thanked the sweet woman with the same warmth as she had with Chase. Looking over the file while being told they had a patient waiting in Consult Room 3; just two rooms to the right of the receptionist's area and entryway. "Yes, this one should be perfect for his first morning," She thought as he led him kindly. "Mr. James Hendricks has come in with a cough. One of our patients for over 2 years. I just want you to take notes with the first one. Then the rest of the morning, I'll alternate with you; guide you through what to do before Drac or John see the patient," She informed her partner for the day.
As they entered the consult room, her smile was kind, warm and yet professional at the same time. "Good morning, Mr. Hendricks," She greeted; the patient sitting at the edge of the exam table/bed was a man that looked to be in his mid-to-late-seventies but still fairly healthy than most his age. He smiled kindly and greeted both in a polite manner. "I'm told you have a cough...How about we listen to those lungs of yours shall we, then try your temperature," Ms. Willow suggested. He chuckled softly, before covering a cough with a tissue she had handed him from the box on the counter. She would then continue with checking his breathing. After the breathing test was done, he would turn soulful yet kind deep brown eyes to the young man with them, asking politely who he was. "This is Chase, he's one of our new staff members and will be doing rounds with me today. The doc shall be in a bit after we check you out," Nurse Alden assured their patient.

It was a bit strange to think of for Chase, even if it was an ever increasing thing that occurred; the dog had been trained and bred for battle, yet here it was enjoying such affections from new people. 'Strange to think of, but not bad.' He thought to himself silently. As he neared them, Nurse Alden would rise to standing position and clean her hands with sanitizer; which was something he supposed was necessary for cleanliness after petting his hound. Her rose-colored eyes would briefly meet his crimson ones again before he would shyly look down a bit to avoid the direct eye contact; still not fully comfortable with her yet. To his response of being ready, she would respond by saying the first patient would be pretty easy before turning away to lead him into the clinic. 'Patient...I thought we were going to fill out the requisite forms first...' He thought to himself silently but daren't voice such things for now. Follow up questions popping up in his mind of who the patient even was and their own medical history; feeling woefully unprepared to be going into this as his own nerves and anxiety set in. For now, Chase would follow silently as he was unsure if he should speak up or not. Commanding his hound silently to remain in the garden; the hound knew not to do any damage to it, and would likely rest in the shade of the shed.
As they made it to the receptionist desk, he would see her greet the receptionist just as warmly as she had him; with the elder woman seeming to take it genuinely. Making Chase more inclined to believe the person was just trying to be nice and pushing his own paranoia back a bit. As she was given a file, Chase would be given a notepad and pen; to which he would bow his head slightly and mouth a word of thanks to her. He would then follow nurse Alden again as she was on the move and listened as she began to speak; thankfully filling him in on the patient so he would not be going in blind as he had been worrying about. She would explain it was a James Hendricks; more specifically that he was a long time patient, being here for over two years, and that he had a cough. 'That should not be too bad then I believe...we would have a medical record to cross examine perhaps, and if it is a mere cough it should be simple enough.' Chase silently thought to himself. Being told he would only be taking notes was a further relief to him. Though his relative calm and ease was shattered a bit by her next words; he would be alternating with her, so he would actually be doing such things directly with patients rather than merely note taking so soon. "Please...help me when able...I am not sure...I am quite ready for this..." He would say rather nervously; as the thought of messing up did worry him immensely, or how someone would react to him. Even with her guiding him; asking for help being something a little out of character for him with someone he was still unsure of.
As they entered the consult room, Chase took in a deep breath to try and steady his own nerves. Nurse Alden would greet the patiently warmly; something that seemed a common thing for the Nurse he was learning. As Chase followed, he would not quite be as warm or as confident as the Nurse as his eyes landed on the man; seeing him as one that was in his upper years but seemed healthy other than his cough. As he smiled kindly and greeted them both, Chase did not keep eye contact long before breaking it and giving a silent, respectful, bow to him in return. Content to just remain silent for now. As Nurse Alden would speak of listening to lungs and taking temperature, Chase would take out his notepad and begin to write a little. Mostly in the technique the Nurse would use and her steps of preparation. Chase was broken form his notes though as he felt eyes on him; trying to pretend as if he did not notice until the man asked who he was as Chase felt a shiver go through him. 'Please do not recognize me.' He thought silently to himself. Nurse Alden, thankfully, would speak for him; introducing him as Chase alone, and that he was a new staff member. He felt silent relief she did not give his familial name; given what it could mean for anyone who remembered the news not too many years ago. He would merely nod to the man now silently; clearly a bit nervous about it all as he watched what the Nurse did and took diligent notes. All the while wondering if he could do so himself for the next one. 'I hope to not let you down Dr. Lenz.' He thought to himself silently, fearing letting her down more than anything else at present.
Nurse Alden smiled when she heard his words for help while they walked. "Of course I shall. Any questions or concerns, you can just ask me," She told him with a reassuring tone before they entered the room with their patient. Ms. Alden had her focus on Mr. Hendricks but, she also kept a discreet eye on their newest member as well. Seeing he was nervous, she took mental note of the young man's shyness yet respect before he would go back to note taking.
Smiling kindly to James, she would continue with the checklist of what needed to be taken. With the breathes, she frowned slightly as she had taken a listen from both front and back with her stethoscope, each time suggesting a cough or two for her. "Your breathing sounds a little congested," Willow noted aloud as well as her other questions. She would take note of this as well as have Chase do some notes of James' chest discomfort and difficulty breathing sometimes before she would move on to temperature.
Taking out a thermometer from the drawer, she would place a disposable cover on it before walking back to the patient. "I hope he's taking notes," She thought. "Alright, Mr. Hendricks, if you'll please hold this under your tongue until it beeps, and try not to move your tongue too much please," She instructed politely before writing in the file she had while they waited.
It didn't take long as she would hear the high beeping and turn, looking over at the digital screen before taking the thermometer out, and disposing the cover without touching it into the small bin in the corner of the room. She would then put device back in the proper drawer before recording the results. "Your temperature is about 99.7, which is not too worrisome. Though you'll want to keep an eye on that and make sure it doesn't get to 100 or above," She commented/informed their patient kindly. She would then move on to blood pressure. "Blood pressure's a little higher than average," Ms. Willow noted with a sympathetic smile before looking over at Chase after she'd recorded the information. "Please go on ahead," She told the young man before turning to their patient, "The doctor shall be in shortly to see you." She told him kindly which earned them both a warm grandfatherly smile from Mr. Hendricks before she would leave with Chase, closing the door behind herself gently. Once out, she would smile up at him. "That wasn't so bad. Now was it," Willow commented with a gentle teasing, meaning well.

Especially for any questions or concerns; when it deal with the life/ health of others, he very much did not want to make a mistake or misstep in handling things. He watched as Nurse Alden would begin to listen to the patients lungs and had the page neatly divided in two for notes; one set of notes was anything she said in regards to the patient himself and would be dutifully listed in a small, neat script. The other half/ set of notes were in the procedure the Nurse went through; from questions asked to the exact way she would place the stethoscope in relation to the patients body. Perhaps a bit too specific, as Chase never seemed to have a chance to pause in writing, but he ignored the burn/ fatigue of his fingers and carry on with it. Wanting to note everything so he would know what to do in future and have a good reference; even if doing was better than seeing in terms of learning. After checking his lungs, the Nurse would take a thermometer and place a disposable cover over it before instructing the patient to take it and keep his tongue still. Chase noting it as well diligently; especially where she attained the equipment to be used. Thankfully, rather than needing to count, it seemed the thermometer was the type to beep to signal when ready; making Chase wonder if it had it's own internal timer and how it worked. As she took it out and read it, thankfully being easy to do, he also noted the waste disposal for it as well. He had familiarity with medicine from his grand father, and knew at least that there was usually separate containers depending on what was used. He just needed to identify it here as well; as Chase noticed the description of it and its placing in the room.
Nurse Alden would note aloud that he had a higher than average temperature, but nothing at fever levels quite yet and for the man to be vigilant about it. 'Hopefully it does not worsen.' Chase silently thought to himself; making mental note of what is considered a fever and isn't again. He would watch and note diligently as she took his blood pressure as well; noting his was a little higher than average. Once done, Nurse Alden would tell him to go on ahead; leaving Chase a little confused before he realized it meant he could exit the room. Offering a small bow and shy smile, Chase would swiftly do so as he felt his heart racing though he could not explain why. Hearing her say the doctor will see him soon and following after him as well. Once outside, Chase let out a breath he hadn't realized he had been holding; relieved to not feel the pressure there anymore. With door closed behind her, he would see Willow smiling up to him and comment that it wasn't so bad. To which...Chase nodded shyly to. "Perhaps but...how are you so...confident about it all? Aren't you the...least bit worried of...messing up?" He would ask of her sincerely, eyes actually meeting hers now. While still nervous he was a tad bit more...trusting to her. Needing someone to rely on a little for this transition. Once she responded, he would ask her a few questions that had been on his mind. "I'm not as...familiar...with the rooms as I should be. Are they all...generally the same in regards to...placement of items/ containers? Was the tests you performed...the standard, or specific to the patient?" He would ask, desiring to know how much he could rely on the notes from one patient to use for another in future and in his own work in those rooms; be it him assisting her or worse, being the one to do the preliminary examination.
Nurse Alden was glad to see that her pupil of the day had been taking notes from her occasional and discreet side glances. So sly was she, that she didn't think he saw her doing so throughout the checkup. Which was apparent to her when she had commented when they were out of the room. Smiling towards the new member of their staff, she was a bit surprised by his questions; pleasantly so. Smiling up at the young man, she was proud of him for asking her questions, and that he was speaking to her more. She had no issues with answering him as they walked back to the front desk for another file.
"Confidence was built over time with practice, honestly. When I first started out...I was nervous as all Hells about getting things wrong," She said with a soft giggle. The young nurse smiled still at the fondness she felt of the memory of starting out in the Clinic. "I was about 18 when I started volunteering here as well as the city hospital and going to med school...But, only started working full-time here about two years ago now," Willow informed him; though it was apparent there was something else that she wasn't saying in her story/telling of her time at the Clinic by a split-flash of sadness that disappeared. "So much change, so little time," She thought before he would move on to other questions. "Yes, each room mirrors the one we were in before," She replied as they reached Cindy Lou once again. She thanked the receptionist as she was traded files with her and they would walk down the opposite hall...

He had not noticed her checking on him during the checkup; he was far too tunnel-visioned on trying to catch and note down as much as he could. As silly as it would seem, he was still a bit intimidated by Nurse Alden mostly due to her senior position over him and worrying he would mess up. She would start to answer his questions shortly after they began to walk, breaking Chase from his own line of thoughts he had to fill the breath silence. She would explained how confidence was built over time with practice, and that she was actually very very nervous when she first started. 'For getting things wrong...' He repeated silently in his mind; surprised to hear such a thing from her which showed on his face. She seemed so confident and extrovert like that he hadn't thought she would feel so. Though oddly enough she would giggle and seem to smile at the thought...Leaving Chase very confused about it as he could not understand why. He would not speak or interrupt for now though as she would continue speaking. She would explain she was eighteen when she started volunteering here, oddly the same age as Chase, before going to med school and coming back here; working here full time after about two years ago. Chase was now slightly curious what her age was but did not press such a topic; it was just very strange as it was something he had been thinking of in the back of his mind as well. Though he caught something else; a brief flash of sadness that quickly faded, leaving Chase ever more confused. 'What happened?' He wondered, though did not ask as it would be impolite to press such a thing.
She would continue, confirming that the exam rooms were mirrors of one another, and trade files with the receptionist before moving onto the opposite hall. Chase giving a shy smile to the receptionist as he followed after, thinking on all that was said. 'How could we be so similar?' He wondered silently to himself, given they had opposite personalities to one another. It was strange and he could not wrap his head around it. "Any...advice?" He would ask shyly to her as he continued to follow her presumably to the next patient. Still nervous despite having experience with one already as he knew medically things could vary greatly. But he asked it sincerely; if she had truly been here so long he figured she would have some insight or tips to working here. Especially if she were truthful about being nervous and starting off at his own age. There were some questions as well; why go to medical school, why not be a doctor, what was the flash of sadness. But he felt it was not his place to ask despite his curiosity. He was still just getting used to asking questions of her for his tasks at hand, let alone her own personal life. He knew he would not be desired to doubtless be asked similar questions in return of his own life.
Willow watched Chase from the corner of her eye as she would speak and answer his questions. Which might be why she giggled when he looked surprised. "Even the teachers and masters were once students, young man," Nurse Alden told him with a small smile. Meaning mainly that not everyone is born with confidence and know-how. They all had to learn one way or another. Nor did she miss his confusion; but that, she would pretend to not notice as she looked forward.
Cindy would wave to the new member of their family before they would move on. It pleased her when she heard him ask if she had any advice for him. "You might wanna try smiling once in a while. It puts others at ease," She advised sweetly before looking at the file. "I see, it's Miss Greenly in Room 2," She thought before looking over and up to meet Chase's eyes kindly. "Next is Mrs. Greenly; age 34 and wife to Mr. Greenly of Burning Candles shop. She likes to bring one every check-up. It's polite to accept," Ms. Alden replied. Although most would say that's uncouth or inappropriate of bigger facilities but, in a small inner circle it was rude not to accept.
Reaching the door, she looked to Chase and smiled kindly. "Trust me, you'll do great. And I shall be with you every step of the way," She told her peer sincerely before she would turn the handle and walk in. "Oh dear, I can see the dark circles," She thought to herself before smiling sweetly. "Hello Linda," She greeted and addressed the patient by the first name, which seemed to make the patient relax a little. From her purse, Mrs. Greenly would produce a rich dark brown candle; the scent was that of frankincense and sandalwood "Heavenly," Ms. Alden thought before she looked to Chase and nodded for him to accept it. "Thank you. Now, I see you've been having troubles sleeping lately," The nurse stated as she looked over the file. Taking lead just for now...

He still felt such a great knowledge gap between himself and Dr. Lenz that he wasn't sure he could ever bridge. 'Anything can be achieved with enough study.' He chastised himself in his mind to push away such doubting thoughts as the counter argument of implying Dr. Lenz did not have to work hard to get where she did came up. He had to remind himself everyone was only human; even those with the greatest minds were constrained to the same biology, generally at least, as others. Dr. Lenz especially given she was human and not faunus as far as he knew. He would give a sort of half nod in response, even if it was mostly to himself, towards her statement in regards to that. It would be disrespectful to dispute it, and he found himself agreeing with it now that he was not focusing on disparaging himself. Seeing the receptionist wave to his smile, Chase just shyly continued on. He was still unused to such...warmness from others. It was not un-liked though; just needed some getting used to. As to his question of advice, Nurse Alden would suggest he smile to put others at ease...making Chase get particularly nervous. He wasn't sure he would be comfortable putting on a smile...nor how he felt about smiling in general. He preferred having a neutral face more than anything; it led to much less assumptions he felt at least. The best case scenario for him usually was to cover his face as much as possible so his true emotions and expressions were unreadable to anyone who looked, but that didn't seem to be part of the clinics uniform. So he just gulped silently, trying to figure out how to even smile on command, and hoping he would not need to. Thankfully, Nurse Alden would continue to keep him apprised as she spoke a little of the next patient with a kind smile. Saying the patients name was Mrs. Greenly, age 34, wife of Mr. Greenly, who owned or perhaps co-owned the burning candle shop. And most importantly that she liked to bring one every checkup ad that it was polite to accept. Chase tilted his head slightly at the mention of candles and candle shop; that much was something he almost felt curious enough to investigate later. When he was sufficiently covered and unrecognizable at the least. 'Wait, am I not up to do this examination...I feel I need more time.' He thought to himself nervously.
She would give him final words of reassurance with her now signature kind smile before opening the door; saying he would do great and she would be there with him. Chase had to take a deep breath as he felt his nerves skyrocketing at the prospect. She would be the first to speak; greeting the patient as Linda, which Chase surmised was her first name. 'Should we not stick to the professional and detached naming convention...' He wondered silently to himself; it would help make things a hell of a lot easier on him but it seemed it would not be the route they were taking. He too noted, on flickering glance, dark circles beneath her eyes though his own would quickly look away. His eyes would be drawn to her purse though as she seemed to dig for a moment before pulling out a candy; a very strongly scented one as he could smell it almost immediately. Or perhaps he hadn't noticed initially due to his nervousness; it was hard to tell for certain. Then Nurse Alden would look to him...and nodded to him. It took him a moment to realize she wanted him to accept the candle. Blushing nervously from embarrassment, Chase would hesitantly close the gap and gently take the candle with a barely audible "Thank you," before quickly stepping back. Holding it a little awkwardly as he let Nurse Alden take the lead and ask about a lack of sleep and look over the files. Making him wish he had asked to look at that prior in case he was called upon, but hoping because she was taking the lead that he was safe for now as he watched silently with a...nervous smile, as best as he could try to make one at least.
Ms. Alden was not unaware of the young man's confusion of the informality of her greeting but, hoped he would get used to it over time. She knew they were not normal here, but they never said they were. She would smile as he took the candle politely from their patient. "I hope business is going well," Nurse Alden commented with sincere kindness. To which Mrs. Greenly nodded and thanked her for asking before saying business is doing well as always. "Dark circles under the eyes, sleep troubles," She would quietly note before looking to the chart once it was confirmed by their patient. "Ah, right," She thought as their patient looked to the young man that had kindly taken the candle. "You are new," She stated, though neither with fear nor concern, but with polite curiosity. "This is Chase, he's our new intern and is stuck with me today," Ms. Alden replied, lightly teasing/jesting, which made the woman chuckle as the nurse intended it to.
"Don't be nervous, she's a kind lady," Her eyes told Chase when she looked at him before turning back to Linda. "Would you mind if he took your blood pressure," Ms. Alden inquired before the woman shook her head in reply, saying that it'd been a long time since she'd seen a new face, and hoped he stayed; it was also no secret that Dr. Lenz was very particular in who she let join the Clinic. She would only observe, for now, if he needed help she would guide him in how to read the blood pressure reading; which would turn out to be rather low. Nurse Alden would become thoughtful at this before stating aloud so the nice woman and Chase could understand her concern, which's most likely from fatigue, as were the dark circles under her eyes. But finishing the tests could tell her more.
