Booker bowed low, received her hand and Kissed the back of it, his hair dipping down to tickle. "I certainly believe I do!" he straightened and offered her the crook of his elbow, taking her hand and winding it round his arm to rest on his muscular upper arm - With a flirty Grin he led her to the dance floor, "Well Netty, You may call me whatever or whenever you like!"
Flirty, down boy.

Circus of Values
Netty blushed slightly at the kiss and relaxed into him as the Grimm lead her off onto the dance floor. She gave the muscles in his upper arm an appreciate squeeze and chuckled. "So bold, aren't you afraid I might take advantage?" She asked, amused. "So, what do you do, Mr. Booker."

Sally paused, taking in the mound of hair, white and large, and just so much of it. But they seemed nervous. She walked over, making sure to keep within sight and smiled at them lightly. “Are you waiting for anyone? Or can I keep you company?” She asked, holding the plush under one arm and gave a sort of small grin. “You look nice.”

Eirian actually sighed in relief when addressed directly by someone. "No, I'm not waiting for anyone but company would be nice," they said with a smile. They actually felt a little more like themselves now that they were finally socializing again. I guess Mama and Mody were right, Eirian thought to themselves.
At the compliment, their smile widened. "Thank you. You do too. I love your dress." The slip dress really was stunning and fit the stranger wonderfully. Now that Eirian was taking the moment to look at her, they noticed the plushie under her arm. "Oh, that's cute," Eirian said while gesturing at it. "Where did you get it?"
The Mask Adorned in a mask of silver and deep purple, she was feeling magnificent as she made her grand entrance to the Ball. The announcement at the school had filled her with a fierce and burning passion. A ball, a masquerade ball especially, required new outfits and especially a beautiful mask. She had spent hours pouring through various different magazines, even going so far as to check out some older books from the library, before she had decided on the one she wanted to create. It had taken a bit of wheedling, but she'd managed to get it designed, created, and delivered perfectly in time. The silver gown she wore deepened into a dark purple towards the hem and matched the mask perfectly. Everything was going according to plan.
Her grand entrance had been perfectly timed and she'd swept in to scattered applause. Considering she hadn't dared hope that anyone would like her outfit enough to clap, this was enough to push her mood much higher. At least, until a vespercat came running up and tried to nearly climb up her. Something must have spooked it, but she couldn't tell what. Needless to say, she picked up the creature and attempted to calm it down. Even if that hadn't been in the plan, it was no reason to mistreat the poor thing.
The Mask It wasn't that she didn't like masquerade balls. On the contrary, she was quite enjoying this one. It was the fact that everyone had to be masked that was bothering her. Her mask was less stifling than it could have been, but she still didn't enjoy the feeling of something on her face. Masks were lovely to look at, but she had discovered this distaste when she was out trying to find a mask to go with her outfit. Trying not to fidget with it was harder than she'd imagine it to be. At least it made her feel like royalty.
As she was mingling with the crowd a booth caught her eye. The junior attending it looked so proud of their wares, she had to have a look. To her surprise it was a booth of plushies, specially made to give out during this ball. Without her even saying a word, the junior handed one to her, their grin brightening as she took it. Then they waved her off to go explore more of the ball.
The Mask The bird mask they'd picked out covered the majority of their face, which is exactly how they wanted it for this particular ball. They hadn't arrived late, which was a miracle in itself, and they'd managed to clean up decently. Their last training session had taken a bit longer than they'd expected, so they were grateful that everything else went their way. The ball was starting to pick up steam, but by no means were they last to the party. They were so pleased with themself about this that they didn't even notice the fennekit trailing behind them. If they'd been paying any attention, they'd have noticed the prickling sensation of being followed.
The Mask He wasn't sure why he kept doing this to himself. Maybe it was a perverse desire to subjugate himself to large public events. He certainly seemed to always attend them nonetheless. Scratching lightly at his ill-fitting pinstripe suit, he hoped his mask didnt draw too much attention. It was the simplest one he could find. Plain white, and covered the top half of his face. He'd been lucky and there was already a hole for a third eye, so he didn't have to cut one himself. Most of the other masks he'd looked at were made for nightmares with just two eyes.
Before he could decide what to do first, a junior in a hand-me-down yellow suit rushed up. They shoved a potion bottle full of some brown liquid into his hand, winked, and then took off before he could do anything about it. He glanced between his hand and the quickly receding figure several times trying to figure out what happened. The potion, he hoped it was potion at least, was vaguely warm through the glass of the bottle. He was just. . . gonna. . . put this away. There was nowhere else to set it, so into his pocket it went. And boy did he hope it didn't break in there. He could just imagine the looks he'd get if it did.
Aisling had to admit, she loved the idea of the festival. Free to be yourself without worrying about any one judging you for being you. It was also fun to see all of the different dresses and all the different masks. There was a variety of gorgeous people tonight. She was glad she had been able to take the night off. It was due to her wandering and just people watching that she maneuvered over to where some of the nightmares and daydreams were trying to bob for apples and trying not to lose their masks. It was kind of funny looking but not something she wanted to try. One of the people did try to get her to but her hair would totally get in the way and get soaked not to mention wet ear feathers were not ideal. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Soriya could see what Vanna meant by haunted hallows festivals. When her brother and sister had called to tell them they were okay, although Vanna was in the hospital Soriya had instantly come down no matter what her parents wanted. Her siblings where sick and hurt and it was her duty to be there. It was also a lot of fun and so she had stayed. Vanna had suggested that she should totally go to the masquerade ball just because the haunted hallows festivals were the best.
He had also hinted that he and Mai might be there later. So here she was people watching and maneuvering through the crowd. Apparently she wasn’t the only one people watching. There was a flutter from the rafters that caught her attention and suddenly she had a nezubat perching on her shoulder. Oh… well that was new. -------------------------------------------
Nepthys got off the phone with Anubis, glad to see that her son was having fun. She had to admit that she had been a bit worried, something trivia was teasing her about, but it was her first time as a mother. She wanted to be a good one. However some time during the phone call and entering the ball room she had lost her friend. Oh Trivia was going to get it when she found the geist again. However something weird caught her eye. Wait had that familiar just passed through the chair. While she was a medium she hadn’t heard of familiar ghosts. It was probably just a trick of… well passing through the chair might have been a figment of her imagination but there was a familiar sitting at her feet.
When she leaned down to pet it, it made a noise of happiness before curling around her feet. Huh, guess she had a familiar now. When it followed her as she moved towards refreshments she definitely knew she had a new familiar. Her first actually. -------------------------------------------- Trivia had originally come with their flat mate Nephythys but they knew the goblin needed more socialization so against their better judgement they quickly lost themselves in the crowd when Neph had been on the phone. They were so going to get crap for it later but hopefully neph would have fun. Now Trivia just needed to have fun. There were a lot of things of interest, particularly the food but before Trivia could get to the refreshments a junior tugged on their dress and handed them a potion. Trivia opened their mouth to say something or give the potion back but the yellow suit wearing junior had disappeared. Well that was weird.
The idea of a masquerade ball had been an exciting one to little Frost. The moment the hybrid heard about the theme of this Haunted Hallow's party, Frost knew he would have to be in attendance. Frost spent weeks with his mother preparing and crafting his outfit, and Frost of course had to invite his boyfriend Thoth to join him as his date. The hybrid had made a bit of a mystery out of it, leaving a little love letter slipped inside the hybrid's locker, including a date and time to meet Frost. Of course, the boy had not signed his name, and had left instructions for the boy to come adorned in a mask.
Frost was waiting at the designated spot, a mask that looked as if it was carved from marble concealing his dainty features, his pale, snowy lavender hair loose and flow-y around his cheeks, framing his face handsomely.
The hybrid was holding a small nezubat plush in his hands, hoping and praying that Thoth made an appearance. So many things could go wrong; Thoth could ignore the letter and stand the litch-geist up; the other Thoth could show with some very choice words; or Frost wouldn't be able to tell it was Thoth. After all, everyone's identities were hidden behind a mask.
Nervous, Frost fidgeted, a spike in anxious energy. All his careful planning could fall apart at the seams. He had never considered for a second that it could go wrong.
The butterflies in Frost's stomach suddenly turned in to a bout of extreme nausea as Frost squeezed the plushie close, suddenly seeking and needing comfort.
After getting his new familiar friend situated the cloud colored baphomet maneuvered though the crowds. No one was jumping out at him at the moment to talk to and he didnt want to bother the seniors. However he did notice a booth at the back. Seeing the plushies he looked them over, they were rather different but at the same time in their difference they were also cute. Eventually after staring at them for a while the junior manning the booth handed him one. Alto tried to pay for them but apparently the --------------------------------------------------- Solomon tried to track the suspicious potions dealer down again to give the potion back in lieu of actually having to interact with anyone but no matter where he looked the junior was gone. With a sigh he went to take up his spot by the corner. It looked like coming might have been a mistake no matter the need to socialize. So far it seemed like the event was just mostly Seniors. As one of the rare few juniors it made him feel, well out of place if nothing else.
It was while he was contemplating leaving that someone grabbed him on the shoulder and whispered in his ear. It made his tail lash out in surprise, but when he whipped around to glare at the person no one was there. Huh… what was it and weird people tonight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Still thinking about the strange potion she had been given, she hadn’t realized that she had been walking for the last few minutes somehow maneuvering through the crowd. She had been curious before about the potion but should she really try it? After all it was given to her by a kind of interesting character. She hadn’t felt any hard from the other junior but normally things weren’t rainbow. It was while she was thinking she realized she had ended up near the games. The game host tried to get her to play bobbing with the apples but her hair wasn’t up in any fancy do. It would end up in that water… wet soggy hair; yeah she wasn’t a fan of that. However she did wish those who did try good luck and a smile if nothing else. -------------------------------- Having given his complement and thus his good deed for the day, Khensu had slipped back into the crowd to figure out what to do. He didn’t realize he probably should have stuck around just in case they wanted to return the compliment. No he was figuring out what he wanted to do. The goblin might have missed him for the rest of the night but two things worked into making them run into each other.
As soon as Khensu was free from the crowd of dancing bodies. Someone suddenly shoved a rather large plushie into his hands. Some of the smaller nightmares or daydreams must have struggled under the weight. Khensu was mostly amused. It was also kind of cute and you couldn’t go wrong with black after all. As he looked up from the plushie, his gaze landed on the goblin again.
“oh Hello again I guess” he found himself saying.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deciding not to take the drink and putting it in his bag to analyze the potion later. Xevikan figured the best thing to do would be to find a seat to sit down in. Maybe one out of the way so that he could people watch and not really socialize. It would appease his dad because he was out in public at least. However before he could make his getaway, something was shoved in his arms. The plushie was kind of loud when you moved the fabric and rather huge. His height helped him hold it but it was only a matter of time before he had to set it down. So he went to the first bench available instead of the one he was hoping for.
“Anyone sitting there?” He asked the Kirin looking hybrid. ------------------------------------------------------------ Leto yawned as he walked through the ball. He always went to at least one festival per year and this year just happened to be on Haunted hallows. It was good to see everyone was trying to recover from the fiasco that was last year. Still it felt weird not to be at a festival without either Jaden or his sister, although Tsukiyomi would have left him by now.
Oh well he would make the best of it, the only problem was what did he do? There was dancing and he supposed he could try his hand at socializing, although considering his costume meant that his wings were bound down, he could take off his cloak later to go outside
It was while he was outside that someone came up and mentioned baby pumpka’s. He had always been fascinated with them and baby animals were always adorable. It was about then that he walked right by Vega. Ah he would have to find him again after the baby pumpka. --------------------------------- This many people were normally not Kiri’s cup of tea but he always tried to be a bit more social during haunt hallows. He supposed it was just his favorite festival so he liked to try a bit harder. Still it was fun to watch all the people and the masks were adorably gorgeous in some cases. However he did get shoved into some one that smelled somewhat of cotton candy? Were they selling some somewhere? He would have to check it out.
However before he could actually do so, he spotted someone he definitely recognized. Ah well time to save some one first.
“you look rather lovely tonight Miss” Kiri replied, his smile showing he definitely knew who he was talking to.
-------------------------------------------- “You know that shifty guy definitely gets around. You think you can trust him because he’s a kid but still… the fact they seem to be trying to give a potion to everyone worries me” Oberon stated. He hadn’t arrived with laurentia, more dragged here by Keres who said he needed to socialize more, but he had definitely recognized his fiancé… fiancé that was a word he never thought would apply to him and yet here was someone who definitely held that title.
So he figured he would maneuver over and surprise her a bit. Well actually he maneuvered over after he picked up a rather spoopy plushie. Ah well all plushies needed love according to the younger members of his family.
Vega was pretty surprised, since as he thought about Leto, he thought he saw the fallen heading outside the ballroom. Where was he going? Was that even Leto? He couldn't see the boy's wings, but that red hair, he would recognize him anywhere. Was that strange? They had been spending a lot of time together... He followed the figure outside, trying to convince himself that it was Leto. Once he was outside, he wished his dress had sleeves. "Leto...?" He called out as he got closer. That really was Leto, right? There was a sudden shriek beside him, and Vega couldn't help but let out a cry of surprise as a strange colored Pumpka seemed to latch onto his leg.
Laurentia: 4 wine colored rat plushie Someone slips a flitterat plush into your arms. It's rather large and a bit difficult to handle. And the fabric it's made out of... you can't help but describe it in your mind as anything but sneaky.
When Obi started talking, Lau jumped slightly. She laughed. "It is a little fishy that someone is handing out so many potions like th-" She was cut off as suddenly she found herself the victim of a run by plushie-ing. She blinked when the plushie was in her arms. "This... is rather large... plushie." This was her first time attending an event at the academy. She wasn't used to being bombarded with trinkets like this. "Is this normal?" She asked, looking up at Oberon, then smiled faintly at him. "You look dashing. I wonder if there's some place I can set these things down... and we can dance." She wiggled her brows at him.
Miwako: 1 3 eyed rammykin This part of the room is particularly dim. You worry maybe there are floating brains up there - but then one wafts down and boops you. Nope, it's just a rammykin!
Miwako was watching the dancing, content to being a wallflower tonight. The kumiho looked up towards the dim ceiling. Were those brains? They really went all out on the decorations didn't they? She was distracted, and didn't see Kiri approach her. She was watching those floating brains... they weren't brains, were they? Her eyes narrowed, but then someone spoke to her. She looked at the fallen, and smiled. "Well thank you, kind stranger." She blushed and looked away shyly. Nervously, she tucked some stray hairs behind her ear. "Did you want to dance?" She asked softly, reaching a hand out towards him. As she did, one of the floating brains dropped down from the ceiling. Miwako pulled her hand back, startled. "... Oh. That's not... a decoration at all." She looked at the rammykin. It... it had three eyes, just like her!
Nashira: 10 orca skyfish plushie These skyfish plushies are just piled up on a table near some candy apples. They're super soft!
Walking away from the bobbing for apples, Nashira spotted some candied apples. After helping herself to one, she spotted a table with a stack of cute skyfish plushies. She liked Skyfish, and seeing a note to take one, she helped herself to a plushie.
Charon: 8 You approach a large tin barrel, where everyone is bobbing for apples, or at least trying to without removing their masks! Someone in a mask - probably a volunteer for the event - tries to convince you to have a go at it.
HEY! That looked pretty fun! Charon saw a lot of cute girls bobbing for apples. Hellooooo wet shirts. Charon sauntered over to give the game a try.
No familiars or trinkets yet
Onyx: 6 potion bottle A junior in what appears to be a hand-me-down, bright yellow tuxedo hands one of these out to you. You feel tentative to drink it, and it's a little warm through the glass bottle.
Onyx wasn't yet having a GREAT time, but he was having a good time. He had a hand full of crackers and was stuffing his face when someone walked up to him. Since Onyx had his hands full, he wasn't able to take the bottle, so the kid in the tacky suit slipped the bottle into his utility belt. "Well... that's one way..." He blinked as the kid vanished into the crowd.
Yuta: 2 monster plushie A junior sits at a booth near the quintet, beaming proudly under their mask. These plushies light up when you squeeze their belly! The junior designed them specifically to give out at this Ball.
This really wasn't as much fun as he had thought it was going to be. Maybe he should have gotten Yuka to come with him. He sighed, but then he spotted a little booth. Hmmm what was this? He walked over and looked at the plushies. The junior explained that he made them himself. Those would be a great souvenir.
Sesha: 20 You feel the urge to ask a stranger to dance. Find someone who is not currently interacting with someone else and ask them for a waltz!
This was a dance, and while Sesha didn't really see any of his friends... He... well, maybe he could make some new friends? He looked around, and spotted an imp who seemed to be alone. He swallowed and slithered over. "Uh... hi... This might be strange but... do you want to dance?" Oh god why did he just do that?
Midnightglow18
Hey Arch! Sesha says hello.
Nicolae: 7 If you do not have a Brown Potion: You see a fortune telling tent and decide to enter it. The person inside offers you a free riding.
Everything seemed in order. Nicolae took a deep breath. It was time to relax and have fun and "AH! Don't step on me!" He darted out of the way of a dancing couple. He ended up stepping into a booth, dimly lit as curtains blocked the front of the tent. Inside was a fortune teller, who offered to give a free reading into his future. Oh, how tempting...
No familiars or trinkets yet
Nora: 13 monster plushie A junior sits at a booth near the quintet, beaming proudly under their mask. These plushies light up when you squeeze their belly! The junior designed them specifically to give out at this Ball.
She was pretty preoccupied with her new little nezubat friend, that Nora didn't realize she had wandered in front of a booth with a large array of plushies. The bat friend she made drew her attention to the booth when it decided to land on one of the plushies and practically snuggle it. Yup. That sold her. Nora got a plush for her new bat.
Atropos: 3 Some of these nezubats were sleeping in the rafters, but they've come down to dance! They're swooping under skirts and perching on shoulders like the lil rascals they are.
No sooner had Atropos gotten the pumpka to calm down, but a nezubat swooped down, scaring the poor pumpka again. The bat darted around her legs and hair, the little pumpka hid against Atropos's skirt. "Now cut that out." She scolded the nezubat... and it seemed to work. The bat stopped swooping at her and the pumpka and landed on her shoulder and started preening.
Bowie: 3 Some of these nezubats were sleeping in the rafters, but they've come down to dance! They're swooping under skirts and perching on shoulders like the lil rascals they are.
Bowie was able to send the frightened jellyfish off to a nice, quiet section of the ballroom, when he saw a bunch of nezubats diving at unsuspecting dancers. That looked like fun, and he walked over to where the bats were swooping down. They began swooping around him too. He was having fun until a bat landed on his tail. He stopped and looked at it, then smiled. "Hey there little dude."
Aurora looked curiously at the junior who had returned to her once again this time bringing her an orange bottle of potion before disappearing into the crowd again. She added the potion into her bag and went to look for someone to dance with. She looked around for perhaps someone who was shy and needed someone to pull them out onto the dance floor for a little bit. No one had caught her eye yet but it was clear she was looking around the room for someone to dance with then she went out onto the dance floor to dance a bit by herself.
Soree Mih was getting her groove on and having a lot of fun already when she felt something land on her shoulder. She turned her head and breathed in the scent of candy corn. "Well well you should be glad I don't like candy corn or you might be in trouble." She said teasing the little bird familiar. Then she went back to dancing with her familiar candy corn friend on her shoulder. She was keeping her eyes open for someone who she could ask to dance with her. She was loving this party it was beautiful and had a hint of mystery.
Arachnne Little looked at the plushies on the juniors table they were amazing and wonderful, she couldn't quite believe the skill that she saw before her. She smiled and gratefully accepted the lovely plushie. "Your work is very good." She said and then she took her plushie and headed off to see what other wonders the ball held. She looked around wondering if she could find someone she wished to dance with or perhaps she would go and get a drink or snack. Arachnne was a little overwhelmed though she wanted to be brave and forward, she was still herself behind the mask.
Ferreor blinked when the junior in the yellow tux gave him a rainbow bottle of potion. "Umm thank you?" He said before the junior disappeared again. Ferreor went to go sit down he looked curiously at the potion he wondered what it would do and if he had the courage to try it to find out. Ferreor looked around at the other seniors in the room and all the things that were going on. He took a deep breath he should get up and go dance and he would do that once he worked up the courage to do so.
Aeon was wearing her silver dress and her silver mask with its silver stars on it, she preferred it that way, she saw a mask that caught her eye though. She went up to the figure and smiled softly and said "I love your mask." She didn't run away though she kinda wanted to. It had been a long time since Aeon had been to a party, she had never really had a relationship of her own so working up the courage to compliment a stranger wasn't easy. Wearing a mask helped since no one would know who she was.
Yunia spotted Aleanette wearing a mask one that is pink with a golden filigree design of flowers. Yunia was really nervous she grabbed a drink and drank it quickly and then she moved swiftly and said "I like your mask." Then Yunia ran away again. She was far to nervous to stay and chat or risk being rejected in that moment. Her green tail was visible as she fled after making her hit and run compliment. She looked for a place to hide for a moment so she could catch her breath. Which was funny working as a guard Yunia was never afraid a party and complimenting someone else was a nightmare.
