  |✶| Broken Crown |✶| Guild Master |✶| Dark Mage |✶| |✶| Current Theme: |✶| ❖ "Good evening. My name is Evelyn Dharke" she introduced herself to the girl with a curtsy. That look in her eye told the Empress that the girl was cautious, yet she seemed polite. Good, as a respectable princess should. It also said that this one was smart, much sharper than the princess of Fiore. She straightened her posture and as she did, she would raise her parasol a little more, creating a more shade in the process. "I don't mean to disturb you, but I come here from a distant land. I've been here for some time now, but I must say, I find a few things strange" she told her. "Well, I don't mean to keep you, but could you tell me more about this kingdom? Perhaps I'm missing something..." Evelyn was hoping to goad the child into a serious conversation as she was very much interested in picking her brain. As a princess from a distant land, what did she think of this kingdom? What were her thoughts on the way things were? Or maybe she didn't concern herself with such matters. Though she kept an eye on Mizuki, she still knew nothing of this Eridani heiress. What kind of princess was she? Did she have dreams and aspirations? Was there any thoughts of her home country in mind? These things and more is what the Empress sought to know.

Guild- Blue Pegasus | Rank- C-rank| Magic- Celestial Spirit ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾ Shifting further, the Eridani princess pivoted so she might fully face toward the woman. Her brow quirked in curiosity. Did she say Dharke? The name sounded familiar to the young princess. A niggling sort of sensation situated itself at the back of her mind, as if a bit of memory attempted to work its way to the fore but fell short of success. I know I’ve heard that name before. Why can’t I place it? It would certainly bother her for a time. She did not appreciate a lapse in information retention. Be that as it may, however, the woman continued to address Mizuki. Listening intently, the young teenager attempted to gauge the exact inquiry posed to her. Tell her more of this kingdom? Evelyn could not have requested a vaster topic of the land. There were many things about the kingdom of Fiore which might make for an interesting discussion. Yet to impart such knowledge would take time. Time which the younger female feared she did not possess. Her concern for her guild had steadily gnawing at her since learning of the attacks. While she believed in her guildmates and their abilities, a surprise attack like those the whispered conversations indicated held potential for disaster. Could she truly afford to tarry? Yet the elder woman seemed so earnest in her desire to learn of Fiore. Perhaps she could provide something less broad, more specific.
“Hmmm,” the cerulean-haired princess cocked her head to one side. “I’m afraid I’m not too certain on how best to answer you. Fiore is a large kingdom with a storied past. Is there something of particular interest you want to hear of? I don’t know everything about it, but I may be able to explain what I know and then direct you to someone with more knowledge.” Of course, she was unable to guarantee knowledge in anything of what the woman sought. It would simply depend. Though Mizuki would provide the best assistance possible to her fellow traveler. Her nature was to help where she was able, which could be troublesome at times as she had learned over the course of her journey. ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾

  |✶| Broken Crown |✶| Guild Master |✶| Dark Mage |✶| |✶| Current Theme: |✶| ❖ "Oh?" Evelyn's smile faltered slightly. It seemed her request was either too broad or too vague. Very well, she would just have to explain what she meant and what she wished to know. "Yes, by kingdom, I mean the people who live in this country. Also, about the matriarch of this country. I'm curious to know what kind of people live here and how they live. I...perhaps you don't understand me? I apologize if I'm not explaining it properly..." She looked at the girl's face, now that she had her attention, noticing her expression. Curiosity...and concern, it seemed. If she was distracted, it meant her mind was elsewhere. Perhaps news of the guilds had reached her already. The people were sure to be talking about it here and there...which meant Mizuki probably wasn't in the right state of mind. Perhaps she would have better luck speaking with her after she was brought back to the castle. There was the risk she'd be even less cooperative though. Evelyn pondered her options while waiting for the princess to speak up.

Guild- Blue Pegasus | Rank- C-rank| Magic- Celestial Spirit ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾ Mizuki blushed. “No, no,” she shook her head, waving her hands in front of herself in dismissal of the notion. “It isn’t your explanation at all. I’m afraid I’m a bit out of sorts at the moment, so I wasn’t quite comprehending the question. Now that you’ve clarified it for me, I think I can provide a proper answer.” Her thoughts for her guild would have to be placed at the back of her consciousness for the time being. She needed to focus on the woman standing before her and offer the same decorum she demonstrated. Tapping into her studies of the kingdom, she recalled all that she knew of Fiore. “The kingdom of Fiore is comprised of individuals from many walks of life. A majority of its people practice magic, though there are many whom don’t, choosing to find other professions centered around certain trades. While there are different social classes, they all seem to work in unison with each other. They’ve struck a balance where one supports and aids the other and vice versa. Whether rich or poor, mage or not, the people of Fiore are proud of their home country and strive to live every day to the fullest.” The Eridani princess smiled up at the elder woman. “This has especially been true of the guilds of Fiore. Blue Pegasus, Fairy Tail, Sabertooth, all of them would lay down their lives if they had to to see the kingdom flourish and safe.” She chuckled bemusedly, “Which I’m sure has something to do with how the Queen governs it. She isn’t one to deny the rights of her people. She’s naturally a sweet, caring, and kind person; although, she can be strict when needed as well. Add to that her intelligence and innate sense of fairness and justice in deliberations and you’d be hard pressed to find someone else as beloved by the kingdom.” As she spoke, the fondness she felt towards the queen seeped into her tone. She remembered the audiences she had with the woman. Her personable nature captured the attention of everyone in the room. A point which gave Mizuki great amusement when she considered her friend, the princess of Fiore- Chloe. How a woman such as the queen and Chloe could be related never ceased to amaze those who learned or knew of the connection. Yet the teenager believed in her friend. The Fiore princess would grow into a fine queen in due course. It would simply take time and patience. After all, such was the way of family. Speaking of which, “You might say Fiore is one large family. Its royalty, its government, its guilds, its people, they act as a family unit would- for the betterment and protection of all.” It reminded her of her own kingdom as well. Everything done was to afford the kingdom and its people the best of opportunities. Perhaps it is why the two kingdoms made easy allies. “Is that what you wanted to know?” Mizuki hoped she had sufficiently responded. Sometimes, it could be difficult to answer such queries without hinting at her heritage. For not many apart from scholars and royal households were taught or studied the country and its neighboring kingdoms. ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾

  |✶| Broken Crown |✶| Guild Master |✶| Dark Mage |✶| |✶| Current Theme: |✶| ❖ Alas, it would no longer become necessary for the Empress to make any sudden moves. Evidently, the bluenette was mindful of what was going on around her. At least now she could get a straight answer out of the girl. Yet...the more and more Mizuki spoke, the more Evelyn's smile would fade. What she expected to hear... What she wanted to hear... It certainly wasn't this. Unison? Balance? Was that really what she observed from the people of this country? The King was whom the blonde believed to be in charge but here Mizu spoke highly of the Queen. Both kind and fair; the true voice of the people. She had created this "utopia" that Evelyn now stood in, a family as the girl put it. Was this what she wished to know? "...Yes. Yes, I understand now..." she replied to the girl. She understood now...this entire country was a complete and utter lost cause. As unified as Mizuki claimed this land to be, usurping the Queen would not be enough. But if the mage guilds were as loyal as she proclaimed, them targeting them first was the right move. Perhaps she would've been impressed were they not standing in the way of her ambitions. But evidently, this country was not one she could simply take the reigns from and build upon. Then that meant... "This is...most unfortunate. Truly unsettling news to take in..." Evelyn sighed, looking at Mizuki with a frown. "Because from what I've seen, this country is ruled by rich and spoiled royalty with no regard for their so called 'family'. Perhaps this is just the view of a child, but as a princess, there can be no excuse. As the future representative of your country, you are being looked upon and judged by your 'neighbors'. You see unison? No, you see only what's on the surface. Surely you are not so naive to think this country is without its flaws. And balance? Among those in power, perhaps. The kingdom allows wizards to band together in an effort to do that which they won't. And when these guilds are left to their own devices and people get hurt or worse, what then? This country, Fiore...is a complete and utter mess." Having said her piece, Evelyn twirled her parasol three times as she shook her head. She grew silent, as if contemplating her own words on the matter. And then a displeased expression would befall the Empress as she looked at the child. "Tell me dear... Does Eridani also share these asinine views?" she asked out of curiosity.

Guild- Blue Pegasus | Rank- C-rank| Magic- Celestial Spirit ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾ At first, Mizuki felt relief upon receiving confirmation that she had provided an appropriate answer to the blonde woman. It pleased her to know she retained satisfactory memory of her studies on the kingdom. Her sense of contentment was soon dashed, however. The lady seemed disappointed in this news. The Eridani princess met her frown with one of her own, “Unsettling?” What was there to be unsettled about? A country with sound roots, stable in its economy and lower in crime could certainly not be a disturbing notion. Perhaps I’ve misunderstood… Alas, it was not to be the case. As the woman explained herself, Mizuki became troubled over her altering demeanor and odd declarations. She spoke of spoiled rich children having no regard for the kingdom. Has she met Chloe? Even if this were the case, it was unfair to judge the entirety of Fiore based on the one interaction. Chloe was older than Mizuki by one year. She was still young and held plenty of room for improvement. Of course, the teenager could not express these thoughts without alerting the blonde to her own royal connections. Yet she might be able to speak as a traveler and observer of the kingdom. “We can agree that other countries watch the royal family and its members and make judgements based on what they observe. It’s only natural. But people grow and learn. What you’ve seen may not be what others see years from now, especially when it comes to young royals.” She shook her head once, preparing to clarify other points, “No, the unison I speak of is deeper than that. I’m not sure if I can explain it properly though. It’s something one has to see firsthand in order to understand…I’m not so naïve to think this kingdom is perfect. No kingdom is.” Had the teenager not bore witness to one of its flaws just yesterday? Mizuki understood every land had its trials and tribulations to deal with. Fiore was no different. Neither was Eridani, for that matter.
Annoyance started to bloom in her chest. How can she think so poorly of Fiore and its guilds? It simply did not make sense. Had she not questioned her to learn of the country? Did she base her decisions on the information she had gleaned from the princess or did she possess some prior knowledge Mizuki was unaware of? Whichever the case, the cerulean-haired teenager attempted to reign in her displeasure and remain cordial. “I’m sorry but I think you’ve gotten it all wrong. The guilds have a Magic Council that oversees them for the very reason to keep them in check. What you call a ‘mess’ is still a family, and all families have their issues to work through. You can’t stand there and tell me you’ve deduced its wants and needs and problems by this one conversation. If you have, then you’ve overlooked the essence of the kingdom.” Mizuki fell silent. Her heart ached to know someone experienced such great disdain for what was a vibrant realm full of life. While Eridani would forever hold the foremost place in her heart, Fiore and Blue Pegasus had become like an extension of her family. My home away from home… As she mused over this, the strange woman broke into her thoughts with another inquiry. It took the teenager a second to comprehend what had been asked. The use of the name of her own kingdom caused her to freeze instantly. “E-Eridani?” What should she say of her land? For what purpose did the woman bring up her home country? Did she know of her true heritage? It seemed too great of a coincidence to not be intentional. “I think their views coincide, yes. But they’re not asinine, in my opinion.” Increasingly uncomfortable with the course of the conversation, Mizuki decided it was time she pressed on towards the guild. “I don’t mean to be rude or anything, but I need to be going. My friends are waiting for me at the guild, and I shouldn’t keep them waiting. Excuse me,” she inclined her head in a farewell gesture, taking a couple of steps backwards. Typically, she would have expressed delight at having met her, but the disconcerting circumstances prevented her in this instance. ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾

  |✶| Broken Crown |✶| Guild Master |✶| Dark Mage |✶| |✶| Current Theme: |✶| ❖ It would seem her judgement had "ruffled feathers" as one might say. Mizuki was quick to point out that Princess Chloe's behavior was only but a phase, that she was still young and had plenty of time to grow. There she may have had a point if they were to believe Chloe was being groomed to take the throne in the future. But the empress had been around much longer than the young lady before her. She had seen that some people do not change from the day they are born. And after speaking with the spoiled child, the blonde could only feel contempt and ire in the manner the girl was raised. Clearly under her parent's guidance, she was on a fast track to destroying her own kingdom. And what of this princess? So far from home and living as a commoner? To what end, Evelyn had to wonder. Perhaps to learn more about the people in another country? There could be some merit to that; however, it would seem she still had much to learn. Of course she knew what true unison was: that she had learned when she established her guild. It was about coming together for a greater goal, the same goal and supporting each other to attain it. Of course, this girl would probably say it was more; that it was about "love and compassion" for one another. That alone was proof Mizuki herself was still growing. She had yet to see how wrong she was about these juvenile emotions.
And she was naive, especially if her feelings toward the guilds were true. Of course, she was in one, so she would defend it so. But Evelyn's smile would return when she heard her so passionately uttering those words that she honestly believed. This one held promise in being a great leader once she matured a little. But unfortunately, that future was one the Guild Master would have to deny. Her smile persisted, even when Mizuki expressed shock and unnerve from having her home country mentioned. With a hasty response, she was trying to make a retreat from the conversation. 'Ah, so that concludes our discussion, does it?' she chuckled under her breath. "No, no. You have it all wrong. I've been watching this country for quite some time now, dear. Judging and forming my own opinions. Of course, one's own opinions are not enough to come to a conclusion. I've heard several voices, their thoughts laid bare on how they felt about this kingdom. Some with similar voices as your own and other...a bit more realistic..." she spoke as the girl took steps backward. Evelyn didn't move an inch aside from fiddling with her parasol as usual. Mizuki hadn't made any sudden movements so she remained calm...for now. "You see...I have come to this conclusion taking all this into consideration. Yet even then, I wanted to hear the voices of those who oversaw this kingdom. I can see with mild pleasure, that the Princess of Fiore was a great help in our discussion. But I have to say, my conversation with the Princess of Eridani is much more engaging. Her thoughts on this country as a foreigner are...interesting to say the least. However, I would like her royal input on the matter, if she could give pause. I would hope she could keep her friends waiting just a little longer?" the woman requested of the princess herself.

Guild- Blue Pegasus | Rank- C-rank| Magic- Celestial Spirit ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾ Her discomfort continued to strengthen the more the woman spoke. How long has she been observing Fiore? Mizuki wished to know. The way in which the lady conversed gave the notion she had watched Fiore and its inhabitants for quite some time. But, then, would she not witness the same as the princess? How had she come to such a vastly different conclusion than herself? Where Mizuki saw the light in the country, the woman before her seemed to note only the darkness it held. “I think you and I share different opinions on what ‘realistic’ may be,” she noted, frowning. “Everyone is entitled to what they think and believe…” Taking another step, the teenager retreated further away from the odd woman. Anxiety coursed through her as she pondered the disconcerting turn of events. For what purpose had she mentioned Eridani? It was a well-known country, rich in lore and trade. One equal to Fiore in many ways. The woman’s mention of it alone would not typically stir concern. Except her remark did not simply denote knowledge of the country. No, it held a hint of something more. She can’t know who I am…can she? Mizuki’s pulse quickened at the mere thought of it. There was purpose behind her keeping her heritage secret. Perhaps I’m being too paranoid… Even if that were to be the case, it was best to ere on the side of caution and be on her way.
Yet the blonde woman did not wish to finish their discussion at this interval. Mizuki found herself lingering upon mention of Fiore’s royal family. A chill ran down the length of her spine at the suggestion this lady had met with Chloe. “How—” The remainder of the question died on her tongue, teal orbs widening in shock. Her blood ran cold. Her suspicions and intuition were proven correct the second Evelyn uttered those words. What should she do? Dare she lie to avoid further interaction? The Eridani princess preferred not to lie to another’s face, if in the least bit possible. However, she vowed to her parents she would be careful in conversation, to hide her parentage lest it guide unsavory characters into her midst. “I--,” she stammered, at a momentary loss for words. “I’m not sure what you mean.” Mizuki chuckled nervously. “I don’t necessarily look the part of a royal, do I?” Her desire was to deflect the woman’s accusations. “That aside, I truly must go. My friends have been awaiting me for a while now. It would be rude to keep them. Perhaps you and the princess can converse another time…should your paths cross.” With that, the Celestial Spirit mage performed a hasty bow before pivoting on her heels and briskly striding further along the street. Mizuki’s heart pounded in her chest. That woman knows of me and my home…But how?...And why? There must be reason for the blonde’s actions and words. Some purpose presently obscured. The more she pondered this, the greater her apprehension became. A bad feeling settled in the pit of her stomach. She needed to place distance between the two of them so she could better sort through everything. ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾

  |✶| Broken Crown |✶| Guild Master |✶| Dark Mage |✶| |✶| Current Theme: |✶| ❖ Interesting. The more her lineage came into the conversation, the more the girl lost her cool. Evelyn could feel Mizuki's anxiety wafting off of her, hitting the senses like a sweet aroma. She shook her head, still remaining where she stood as the little one retreated even further. "There is reality and there is not. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but no matter of opinion will change reality. And the reality is...that this kingdom is destined for a great change. Alas, it may get worse before it gets better..." It was here that Evelyn would trail off as the princess was beginning to show signs of panic. Even after blatantly calling her out, she insisted on keeping up her charade. Understandable that she would hide her identity in foreign lands; however, there no longer was any need for that. Besides, her reaction alone would all but confirm it for anyone who held any suspicions. And now she was trying to taking her leave, rather hastily after mentioning her friends in waiting. How unfortunate that there wouldn't be much awaiting her there. Yet and still, she could not be allowed to leave and see for herself. The damage was done and the Eridani Princess was needed elsewhere. Perhaps she needed more of an incentive to stay?
With a sigh, the Empress would raise her voice to reach the fleeing girl. "Excuse me. But what of your other friend? Haven't you kept us waiting much longer now?" she asked over the crowd. If she had managed to pique her interest with that or not, she would continue. "All she talks about is shopping; I wish she was at least half as insightful as you, my dear. Why, you have a much broader grasp on your surroundings and seem to even care what happens to this country. If it wasn't her precious 'baby' or some other materialistic item, I doubt she could care less." Mizuki was a sharp girl; she definitely would be able to realize she spoke of her friend Chloe. Her silent grin would widen as her eyes closed, portraying a friendly visage. "But I suppose you must be off, yes? Then I shall also take my leave for now. It is distasteful to leave such an important guest unattended for long. Shall I relay a message?"

Guild- Blue Pegasus | Rank- C-rank| Magic- Celestial Spirit ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾ Mizuki shook her head, “There is a difference between being realistic and altering reality.” She gazed at the petite woman before her. Her discomfort unable to be hidden any longer. She needed to part ways with her present company. Something in the situation did not sit well with her in the slightest. “I’m not certain what sort of change you’re referring to, but it can’t be for the greater good if things must first get worse.” The lady’s ramblings were making little sense to the princess. There was deeper meaning to her statements than what was to be perceived on the surface. A subtext that few could come to recognize. Mizuki did, however, and she disliked its implied significance to the kingdom. Whoever this woman was, for whatever purpose she acted upon, it was most certainly not with the best of intentions. The Eridani princess had concluded that much over the course of their discussion. I need to go, she felt a sense of urgency well inside as her feet carried her swiftly away from the crimson-eyed stranger. What if she has something to do with the attacks? It was a question as of yet unfounded, though not altogether implausible. Evelyn’s words rang in her mind. The topic of Fiore and its flaws dominated her thoughts, followed closely by the subject of her own kingdom. Most unsettling had been the flippant way in which she referred to potential changes. Did she intend to act upon some unknown plan?
Whatever her purpose, Mizuki knew she could no longer stay in Balsam. Her cover had been compromised, and she would need to return to the guild at once. Purpose filled every step she took as she lengthened the distance between herself and Evelyn. The princess stood thirty paces from the other when she heard her sultry voice ring out over the crowd once more. Evelyn’s statements were like a vice upon her heart, causing the organ to skip a beat as she made mention of another friend. Mizuki drew to a quick halt. Her legs suddenly frozen in place. A frown tugged at the corners of her mouth. She spoke of Chloe. That much was painfully obvious. Yet it was the manner of revelation which disturbed the teenager. It denoted a familiarity with the Fiore princess known by few. Chloe would not willingly speak of matters of the country, especially to someone such as Evelyn, unless forced to do so. The connotations of this fact sent Mizuki’s mind reeling. What should I do? To stay would be to invite trouble while to flee would place Chloe in danger. She sighed. There was no contest between the options. Her friends came above all else, even when every fiber of her being screamed to run. Fighting against those urges, the cerulean-haired teenager slowly turned to face the blonde. “What is it you want with me?” She straightened her shoulders as teal orbs met red. Fear and panic would not be allowed to consume her. She would stand her ground against this woman and seek to learn how best to help her friend. ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾

  |✶| Broken Crown |✶| Guild Master |✶| Dark Mage |✶| |✶| Current Theme: |✶| ❖ As if her words had command over Mizuki, the girl stopped in her tracks when she mentioned a friend. And then the next few word turned the girl around and brought her back before her. Yes, it was just as she was hoping would occur. Specifically, Evelyn had hoped that mentioning such close details would alert the girl that she knew the princess well enough. It also helped that the brat was very chatty and laid bare her haughtiness. Which reminded her - had she given anyone charge over the girl for today? She doubt the princess could get into too much trouble with everyone there. Leaving was also impossible, not with Skaldevo being present in the castle. Once she got Mizuki to come along, she could see to the girl herself. But seeing the child before her now... The way she met her gaze and straightened her posture; that anxiety of hers had quelled a bit. There was no fear in her eyes, but instead a strong conviction and strength. Where did all of this come from now? Over concern for her friend Chloe? Honestly, the fact that she needed someone to give her this strength made Evelyn want to roll her eyes, but she would not be so disrespectful. To get respect, you must first give it and so far, Mizuki had earned that much.
"I see I have your attention now..." she nodded, lowering her voice once again. While she did not wish to force her hand in such a manner, she would also prefer not to manhandle the girl to bring her in. "I will be honest, I did not come all this way just to speak with you. Although, I do find your opinions to be engaging. Though I don't agree with you, perhaps there could be some merit in continuing our discussion. But more than that, I require your help; from both of you, as a matter of fact. I would like for you to come with me, willingly. I think we can work together to find a suitable outcome for everyone. What do you say?" At this point, Evelyn would hold out her gloved hand for the bluenette to take. The Empress may have spoken genuinely; however, she was still a stranger to Mizuki. In addition to her not so subtle mention of having Chloe with her, there was a certain undeniable defiance hidden behind that face. All this was to say, the odds of her coming along willingly were slim. Would she come along in hopes of rescuing her friend or would she turn to violence and attempt to fight back? Which ever the maiden chose...the blonde was prepared, calmly smiling as she awaited what was to come.

Guild- Blue Pegasus | Rank- C-rank| Magic- Celestial Spirit ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾ The young girl looked down at the hand outstretched to her. Skepticism and distrust lingered in her features. She knew nothing of this woman- where she came from, whom she allied with, important facts all withheld. And to what end? Mizuki could not read minds; however, her instinct told her to go with the female would be folly. What of Chloe though? It became abundantly clear the blonde had the princess of Fiore secreted away somewhere. The odds of her doing so willingly were nil, to say the least, which warranted caution and care. “What help could we offer you that requires you be so…secretive?” She questioned, making no move to take the proffered hand. Mizuki dared not agree to anything before gaining suitable information. “Would your concerns about Fiore not be more useful directed to the King and Queen themselves? Why seek the help of the princess of the kingdom and that of the neighboring kingdom?” As she spoke, her tone shifted to one with more confidence and poise. Without need to protect her identity, she simply slipped into the speech pattern used amongst royals and nobles. The princess preferred her casual mannerisms over this, but felt the imperative need for it now, as she had in Cleming Town.
“That’s just what I wanted to know, kid,” the familiar greeting echoed in the still air. A celestial ringing followed suit before a bright light appeared in front of her. It flashed brilliantly then faded, revealing a tuxedo clad individual standing between the two women. “L—Leo?” Mizuki had not summoned him. Sensing her confusion, the spirit glanced over his shoulder and offered a placating smile. “Sorry to interrupt. I was getting a bad vibe so thought I’d drop in.” He shifted his focus to Evelyn. Although he retained his smirk, his expression held a level of seriousness in it not often witnessed. “And I’m glad I did. I’m not exactly getting a trustworthy vibe from Lady Goth here.” The fact he had not tried to flirt with the older woman struck a chord with the Eridani princess. Leo was known for his flirtatious attitude, enjoying charming any female he laid eyes upon. His only exception to this was Mizuki herself whom he viewed as a younger sister. One he could be very protective of which, of course, is what led him to appear in this place at this time. “Sorry, Lady, but I think she’ll pass on your offer. Thanks anyway.” “Leo,” Mizuki projected to his mind, “She does have Chloe. We can’t leave her…” The feline spirit gave an imperceptible shake of his head. “We won’t. But we’re not just handing you over to her either.” He made his stance on the matter crystal clear. If Evelyn wanted Mizuki, then she would have to go through him to do it. ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾ ✸ OOC ✸ Just to clarify, the words in both bold and italics are them speaking to each other using telepathy. |✶| Broken Crown |✶| Guild Master |✶| Dark Mage |✶| |✶| Current Theme: |✶| ❖ Evelyn's outstretched hand remained offered to Mizuki, even as she voiced her concerns. All valid questions that she would happily answer...after they were away from prying eyes and eavesdroppers. They were already getting odd looks from the pedestrians around them. The idea was to not make such a big scene; to be as discreet as possible. But that was slowly becoming a fantasy as a voice echoed, speaking up on the girl's behalf. Evelyn glared at the sudden blinding light as a sharp dressed man stepped out. Who was this now? 'Ah, yes. So this is a Celestial Spirit?' she assumed, seeing as the man appeared abruptly in defense of Mizuki. His words and his appearance would cause the woman to retract her hand with a displeasing smile. The Spirit was just as perceptive if not even more so than the princess. It meant she was not going to be able to convince the child to come along, not with her guardian now present. Something told her he was not just here to talk if need be. With two hands on her parasol now, she shook her head with a grimace on her face. So it had come to this after all...
"Good sir, you are interrupting a very important conversation between ladies. How rude and judgmental. You certainly do not make a good first impression" she chided Leo. Looking past the feline, she would look to Mizuki whom she was address. "And to answer some of your questions, speaking to the King and Queen would no doubt be a folly. However, I had planned to do just that, when the time allows. And as for you and your friend...you both have similar gifts" she pointed out, giving a single glance to the Lion Spirit. "I have a need for those gifts and your 'titles'. You see, there is something only the two of you can accomplish in this manner. I would be happy to explain further; however..." her glance would now shift to the people who were doing a little less walking and a little more standing and watching. No doubt Leo's arrival had drawn some attention to them now; people curious as to what was going on. "...I'd prefer not to have an audience at this juncture." The Empress grew quiet, closing her eyes as she went into thought. How was she to go about doing this? She would break her silence with words that were spoken in a tone that was very sincere. "Do not take this the wrong way, dear. But I do intend to have you at my side. It would be best for everyone if you complied peacefully."

Guild- Blue Pegasus | Rank- C-rank| Magic- Celestial Spirit ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾ “Very well,” Mizuki looked to Leo, “So long as we’re clear that I won’t leave Chloe to fend for herself with this woman. There’s no telling what sort of trouble she’s managed to get into.” Leo scoffed to himself. “She does have a tendency to offend the wrong sort of people. Don’t worry, kid. We’ll find a way to help her out. But let’s worry about that later. Right now, we need to keep you out of this woman’s reach.” The feline Celestial Spirit smirked at Evelyn, tucking his hands into the pockets of his pants. “Well, looks like we’re even then. I don’t make a good impression on you and you don’t make one on me.” His smirk dimmed slightly as he noted the subtle hints made to Mizuki’s magic and heritage. Who is this lady? For her to be so knowledgeable meant she had done research. But that should not have been possible. The king of Eridani made certain to keep a tight seal on records regarding the children ever since the incident nine years prior. While Leo pondered the implications of this, the princess’s thoughts were for the veiled threats and desire to maintain secrecy. Evelyn was clearly discomfited by the amount of attention focused on them after the Spirit’s appearance. She is very selective with what she reveals, the teenager mused. Her unwillingness to explain further in a public setting did not set well with Mizuki. What plans had she concocted to require such a level of confidentiality? Certainly, it could not be anything for the betterment of the kingdom.
And yet, Mizuki could not overlook the potential danger in rejecting the woman’s offer. She was not so naïve to miss the underlying menace in those words nor discount their sincerity. The Celestial Spirit mage believed Evelyn would act upon her unvoiced promise, whatever it may be. But then, that was the question, wasn’t it? What might the blonde do if Mizuki failed to accept her invitation? Evelyn’s outward appearance was one of politeness and poise. She had not raised her voice, even despite Leo’s interruption into their conversation, or lifted a finger to stop Mizuki’s retreat. Of course, she had no need to. The strange woman utilized Chloe’s predicament to summon her back. A calculated and measured approach to retaining the princess’s attention and cooperation. She’s no fool. That’s for sure, Mizuki frowned pensively. There was much to consider here. Agreement to the lady’s terms could lead to fortune or folly. On the one hand, she could be one step closer to helping Chloe while avoiding pulling innocent bystanders into a fight while, on the other, she might place her own kingdom and family at risk. A tough decision to be made with many variables to be weighed. Possibilities and consequences she did not have time to fully explore. No, she must listen to her instinct on this matter. An intuition which demanded she stand her ground. “And what if I choose not to comply with you?” Mizuki asked the blonde, taking advantage of the gathering audience and making her answer known. “Do you intend to make me come against my will?” In front of her, Leo centered his mass so he stood directly in the path of any possible assault from the lady. He tensed in readiness for the fight he felt brewing. ☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾

  |✶| Broken Crown |✶| Guild Master |✶| Dark Mage |✶| |✶| Current Theme: Dancer of the Boreal Valley |✶| ❖ Even after stating her intentions, Mizuki could still be so bold. She was standing her ground with her suave bodyguard by her side, questioning what would happen if she declined her offer. Surely, Evelyn expressed what she meant, didn't she? Or was the little one not convinced of her conviction? Why, she had to admit, it was quite insulting. To think she could be challenged in such a manner was upsetting, though the Empress did not show it on her face. On the contrary, the express she held on her face was that of tranquility; all but those glaring red eyes of hers. Where as they were bright before, they were dim and almost emotionless now. "...Oh no. I do not wish to hurt you, if at all possible. Understand, however, I am a woman of my word. I will not leave without you" she reiterated. And now her sights had settled on the crowd around them. Raising her parasol ever so slightly, she would extend her own shadow to reach the helpless bystanders. Too late they would notice the shadow at their feet as they began to sink down into the murky depths, but stop just at their ankles. It was not Evelyn's intent to drag them in completely, but to trap and prevent them from running. Those who were not targeted would now flee in fear of meeting the same fate. A wise move on their part as things were only bound to get worse.
The blonde looked back to Mizu, expression unchanged. "Now, what was it you said: 'And what if I choose not to comply with you?', correct? Well, Mizuki dearest... You shall soon learn it is unwise to contest a queen" she scolded the girl. Suddenly, a high pitched wail would erupt from the ensnared crowd; a boy who was panicking from his unfortunate predicament. He stood beside his mother who was doing his best to console him. "It's okay, Davey. Everything is going to be fine." The Empress shook her head hearing this, but kept her eyes on Mizuki. "I believe we were talking about being realistic? Take this woman for example. She's assuring the boy that both of them will survive this ordeal...but realistically speaking..." she stated, raising her hand and pointing a finger at the mother. From the tip of her index, a crimson drop of liquid would emerge through the glove. "How can she prevent her own death?" Like a bullet, the drop of blood would go whizzing through the air and find its mark on the woman's forehead. In mere seconds, her life was snuffed out without so much as a trickle of blood escaping the puncture wound. The roar of terrified and shocked screams had drowned out the child's cries as his mother's lifeless body fell to the ground. But Evelyn had not even looked at the murder she just committed, cold eyes still locked on the princesses. "...A boy without his mother won't last long, I would think." And so her pointer would move a few inches to target the boy next. He was still in shock and disbelief at his own mother's passing just before his eye, that he had yet to realize his own life was now in danger. "What do you think, Lady Mizuki? Realistically speaking, do you think he could survive on his own?" she asked, blood already pouring at her finger. By now, she could rest assure it was no bluff.
