Step 3There was an angry sign on Shu's forehead. The petite hunter was very unhappy at that moment. She was holding the important item and reutrned for duty report when something appeared from the ocean. Shu wondered if Mark had the mouth of a crow, instead of a titan, a tentacle monster hung her in a UPSIDE-DOWN manner. Ironically, she wore a dress that day. In the unfortunate situation, Shu made some screams and yelled at the monster. "You big pervert!" Since it only took one of her ankles, she immediately summoned her weapon and hammered at the pulsating thing. "YOU! PUT. ME. DOWN!" She continued to toss her giant hammer at it, calling the monster "molester", "pervert", "big squirmy thing" and so on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Buddy: Mark Shu's HP: 50/ 60 DMG: 47 Charge: 1/3 Tentacle's HP: 3/ 50 In Possession:

Step 3The tentacle looked unwell and softened gradually, meanwhile Mark was chit-chatting with her being like that. She caught something like Lego Batman movie, then he turned to talk about another thing called Avengers. "Was it a proper time to talk that?" She almost yelled at him as she landed a wrathful final hit on the monster. Mark didn't stop and mentioned about the killer explosive dolphins. Whatever, she completed her assessment successfully. She had time to listen anything right now. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Buddy: Mark Shu's HP: 40/ 60 DMG: 49 Charge: 1/3 Tentacle's HP: -46/ 50 DEADIn Possession:

Step 4Shu was kinda happy about her performance in the assessment, what could be better than proving her usefulness? It was clear why they had to go one by one, there were not enough targets to share for each of the Death hunters. Feeling she was apparently improved in both her combat skills and strength, she knew she could do more for the division and the organization as a whole. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ In Possession:

Step 1Gretchen had already had the majority of her gear on her, so it hadn't taken more than a minute to grab the barrier daggers and stow them away in her pack. Then it was a quick jog to the lighthouse, and a quicker trip through a portal. The beach on the other side, under any other circumstances, probably would have been pleasant, but the tick fog that was rolling in from seemingly every direction was giving her an understandable need for concern. She'd only just come back from a mission heavily involving creation, and the fog that had lain like a blanket in those woods had only served to hide the nightmares that had crept through it. She shivered as she stood on the sand just past the portal, fingers flexing at her sides, and actually took a moment to look for Mark. Whens he grabbed her pack she shot him a nervous look. "This isn't like the woods, right?" Caelius wouldn't have just dropped the entire division into a Creation infested beach and had them run an assessment course, right? Even if he had, there were so many of them...it was probably safe. Probably. Lips pursed, she moved on. Barely into the course, her prosthetic foot bumped into something in the sand. A cellphone, though it looked considerably older than the ones they all currently had. A quick cursory examination of the thing showed a single text message containing nothing but a two digit number. With a curious hum she tucked it into her pocket and moved on at a jog. The second thing she encountered wasn't half so benign. Gretchen didn't know what it was supposed to be, but she didn't think it had wound up the way it was by design. A mass of limbs, eyes, mouths. It screeched up at her, and she cringed as she summoned her weapon. Step 1 cont.
The eldritch horror of a mini pet melting pot proved a bit smarter than the intermediate had been expecting. As she swung at it, putting her shoulder into the strike, the thing snapped out with a vicious set of teeth and caught the end of the staff, jerking it towards the mass of it's body so it could slash at Gretchen's good leg with a sharp set of claws.

Step 2
Wincing, Gretchen drew the standard runic bandage out of her bag so she could do something about the scratches and bits on her leg, and help replenish a bit of her shield.
Carrying on cautiously, she made her way to a cave with a blue marker, inside she found her favorite Death assistant leaning over what looked like a fake laptop, and she couldn't help but smile at him. His presence had turned into something of a comfort after the chaos in the woods and everything else. She greeted him, he said he had super secret data and was apparently going to follow her, and they headed out again.

Step 3
They were on their way back, but of course it wasn't going to be a smooth trip. A churning in the water off to the side had the intermediate pausing, and she held up a hand to signal for Mark to stop as well. For a moment she just waited and listened, then, practically exploding out of the water, a massive tentacle can flailing up, and then curled out directly at them.
Startled, hands currently occupied with weapon in one and the flares in the other(to see by), Gretchen did the first thing she could think of; she through the flares at it, and was then rewarded by the thing cringing away from the burning things as if hurt by them. A happy accident, and it freed her up to go on the offensive.
This time there weren't any hang ups. She rushed in, staff back at the ready, and brought it down hard, multiple times on the flailing, reaching limb. It was enough. The thing retreated back, and Gretchen and Mark were able to continue on their way.

step 1
Assessment? Ok, cool. So this place was like high school. Or like, gym class. Really, hella medieval gym class.
Cool, cool. Everything was cool.
Wash shoved his hands into his pockets to keep from fidgeting nervously. He shuffled after the other hunters to the lighthouse, and couldn't help but note the whooping and hollering coming from one of the other division meetings. Maybe he'd picked the wrong one to check out? He made a mental note to double back and see what the other one was about -
And then they were there, ish. He tried not to stare at the hella goth hunter as he anxiously took his headset and snapped it over his ears, obediently following the others through the portal and to the other side. It was much colder here, and he shrugged his jacket closed, rolling his shoulders and trying not to marvel too much as his breath fogged the air.
"This is some magical a** s**t," he muttered under his breath. Mark's instructions did not leave him feeling particularly confident.
Don't forget, I can help you! whispered a timid but perky voice in his skull. He'd almost forgotten about the little keychain he had strapped to his wrist.
I won't, he mouthed in reply. Then, letting out a deep, shuddering sigh, he squared his shoulders and followed the markers into the fog.
---
It was some time before he realized he couldn't see the markers anymore. That was bad, and at her insistence, he summoned Sally, the small buckler's dim blue light reflecting off an odd shape in the sand ahead. Tentatively, he approached it and -
The next thing he remembered was waking up, cheek pressed into the damp earth.

step 1 It took him a few minutes to drag his sorry a** out the impression he made in the sand, but eventually he found his feet. Helpfully, the KO had reoriented him back in he direction of the markers, and he shuffled forward warily, Sally at the ready on his arm.
"Hey, kid."
The voice had him nearly jumping out his own skin - and fortunately Wash was able to arrest his arm mid swing as it turned out to belong to another Hunter.
"What the hell, man?!" He managed.
"I'm here to make negotiations with you." The speaker seemed almost bored with this reply. He had a big sign that read "PERSON" on his chest. Maybe it was some kind of script? This was really weird.
"Alright, dude, whatever. Where the hell is the target? WHAT is the target, anyway?" He squinted. "And what d'ya mean, negotiations?" Sally's dim blue glow reflected off the other hunter's unamused expression.
"If you pay me a lightflare, I'll tell you a good secret," it replied, with exaggerated slowness. Was this part of the test? Whatever. Wash handed over a light flare - he had three after all, and hadn't used any of them yet, so who cared? In exchange, he received a key.
"Wow, ok. Real helpful. Cos there are just," Wash added, with all the energetic sarcasm of a teenager, "so many doors and s**t around here."
Without another word, he stomped off petulantly in the fog. With a key. Maybe the secret was that he was a moron for handing over the flare.
That's not much of a secret, Sally whispered petulantly.

The fog seemed endless. Just as Wash was considering turning around, however, it began to thin, and a rock face came into view. A narrow tunnel was lit by a glowing blue marker.
It was like, really narrow. And super dark.
"Spelunking is not really, like, my thing," Wash complained under his breath. He made his way in anyway, because if anything it was better than the creepy fog. Eventually it opened up into a small cave, where Samuel was playing some cel phone game. (When did cell phones get so good anyway? All this science fiction tech was blowing his mind).
The "target" was a mason jar with a styrofoam crystal inside. Looks like their production suffered some budget cuts.
"Man, whatever, lets just go."
