"What's wrong with us?" the tawny-haired repeated calmly, briefly examining the cat's scratches as she spoke. They stung horribly, but at least they weren't likely to be deep. "I could ask the same of you, senshi. At least the cat's been trying to put up something of a fight and it's a lot less capable than you." She turned her bright green eyes on the Super Sailor Scout and narrowed them coldly.
"Why are you here if you're just going to get in the way? You're useless to your allies and hardly a hindrance to your enemies. Even I'm doing more than you and if I'm reading your energy signature correctly, your level of power should be superior to mine. How did you even manage to gain the experience required to reach that level if you don't even have the guts to put up a fight?"
It was almost unnerving her that the senshi hadn't tried anything yet; not even their magic. Trying to spur the other woman on into fighting back somehow, Forsterite ran at her with another cry, fist clenched to catch her in the side of her face. If she had any sense, she would, at the very least, drop the cat to try to defend herself.
Staggering back, from the kick to his injured side, he caught his balance at the last moment. Though he really was taking a beating - more than he wanted. it had been a long while since he'd gotten in to such a fight...and perhaps that was why it hurt so much? He wasn't used to gritting his teeth and bearing such pain as he hadn't had to in a while. But he had a plan....oh yes he did. A smirk finding it's way to his lips he watched Shalott for a moment before focusing on what he wanted.
"And your side should know by now...that when you push we will slap you back into line. Your side is lucky we have yet to pay you back for invading our realm." But it would come, it had to. They would pay the other side back - just not yet.
"Right now you fight for a traitor to your side...it's amusing really." Did she know about the knight? Did she know he had been feeding them information and helping them? if not what would she do now? it didn't matter though as he forced himself to focus on what he wanted to do - summon youma. It wasn't just one that he was summoning to himself but three. He had the ability, he had served enough time in the negaverse, it was time to put his skills to good use...and put the youma that the negaverse had to good use. They would aid him in tearing apart this knight.
Shalott wasn't going to take this from the cocky Negaverse general. She'd been through too much with him to want to give him any sort of mercy and, besides, he didn't seem like he was going to stop until he destroyed her and everyone around her. She threw her fist at him, aiming for somewhere she'd already damaged. It was the only way to try to get him to stop, to push him down until there was nothing left that he could do...
Which wasn't to say that she'd be safe then, either. The deep gouge in her skin spelled that out plainly.
"I've seen him. It doesn't look like he was a willing traitor."
The blow was enough to push the Captain back, but not for long and had not been enough time for him to try attempting his magic.
Well at least without leaving himself wide open and whilst there were times when Athene had done exactly that, it was something that he was leaving in reserve - for if he felt there was no other choice.
He ignored the Captain's taunting, his eyes cool beneath his glasses as the the other came at him again with the fork to hand.
But he didn't underestimate the other either, because despite the power differences, Athene knew that all Nega-agents, from Lieutenant upwards were dangerous...
And he knew his limitations.
The fork struck, but it was a glancing enough blow - and not enough to drop him.
Instead Athene was concentrated on trying to create enough opening to attempt to use his magic - because if he could get it to co-operate and work then it would at least help to sway things their way a little.

Useless. Why are you here? The Lieutenant’s words cut deep, but they weren’t anything Subamara hadn’t told herself, through the long years she’d struggled as a basic senshi. She frowned, listening to the other woman rattle on about Liryn being more useful than her. She wasn’t wrong. All the self-defence classes in the world couldn’t make her a fighter. A killer. She didn’t want to be. But the little cat that had cannonballed back into her arms was the one that had enough faith in her to grant her the new power level. It wasn’t always about the fight. Where the Captain’s words had chilled her into paralysis, the Lieutenant’s were galvanising, pinpointing her weaknesses to remind her of her strengths.
Stop worrying about what you can’t do. Do what you can.
She risked a glance in the direction of the bright light, nodding at Liryn’s words. They didn’t have time for a brawl. They needed to break this up right now and get to the real fight.
“I know,” she whispered back, mind racing. “But what about Athene and the knight? We’ve gotta put a stop to these guys.”
It seemed the agent had become tired of talking, and launched another attack. Rather than dropping the mauvian, Subamara turned to shield him with her body, leaving her face unprotected. The punch connected in the same spot as the earlier kick, layering bruise over bruise, splitting the skin.
With another pained cry, she leapt backwards from the Lieutenant, putting her new strength as a super senshi into buying herself extra distance. She landed crouched, finally setting Liryn back on his own four paws, before straightening up, arms outstretched beside her, almost a placating gesture. Her tone of voice said otherwise, still shrill with fear and pain, but stubborn.
“You assume everyone’s as bloodthirsty as you? You threw a cat! Is fighting all you know how to do?”
The scent of coffee filled the air around the dilapidated church as she called her magic, illusory dark liquid seeming to spill from her open hands.
“Subamara Coffee Rush!”
She focused the magic squarely on Liryn, since his sharp claws and teeth seemed to be having an effect - even if the cat was tiny and it hurt to watch him throwing himself into battle.

Magic Description: Subamara Coffee Rush Subamara holds out her hands and a stream of coffee pours out, pooling on the ground around her. A strong coffee aroma fills the area. Anyone splashed by or stepping in the coffee feels temporarily more alert and energised - specifically, their hearing and agility are both slightly boosted for the next 30 seconds.

Game Mechanic: Basic-level magic – Target receives accuracy +1 for 3 posts.
Mauvian Liryn (currently human form) Purplish eyes glared at the Lieutenant from Subamara's arms, because the curly-haired senshi was not useless...
And as far as Liryn was concerned she was plenty strong.
He opened his mouth in a retort, but Subamara was speaking to him quietly as she responded to his earlier words, causing him to focus his attention back on her.
"We'll find a way," he said quietly. "That knight looks plenty strong and Athene is strong as well." Because Athene was strong - even if the dark-haired senshi often didn't himself enough credit.
A purplish eye closed in a wink as he continued "And I'll help too."
He glanced over at the church and then back at Subamara, was about to suggest that he could try checking it out - but the stupid Lieutenant just wasn't getting a hint as she once again launched herself in their direction.
"Subamara could you check out the church" Liryn asked as purplish eyes checked to see if the other was okay, before gently placing a paw on her leg as he said softly "And you are not useless - you're just as strong as the rest of us-" Because strength came in different forms...
And then he turned his purplish eyes on the Lieutenant, even as the rich scent of coffee from Subamara's magic helped him to feel more alert - more energised - and shifted.
Gone was the cat, a young man with pale jade hair glaring at her, the purplish eyes and the ears and tail the same as when he had been the cat.
"I'll handle the Lieutenant" he promised as he let his claws slip free from his fingers, edges ending in a point.
And then he dashed in the Lieutenant's direction - a clawed hand reaching to lash out.

Witherite frowned at the eternal frustrated at his inability to hit his mark. He was only managing to basically clip the other and it was only serving to make him angrier that he already was. He needed to clear his head, especially since it didn't seem that the other was going to go on the offensive just yet.
He stepped back quickly from the eternal senshi and focused himself on calling forth youma to aid him. It would benefit him and help bring the senshi down. 'Damn magic slinger.' At least the other hadn't attempted to throw magic at him just yet, but he kept a look out for it.
One youma appeared right after the other one that had a rose for a head and thorny arms and legs and the other that looking like a cat, fur on edge and sparking dancing through out it. They were an interesting pair and Wither was eager to see what they could do.
He'd never summoned them before and decided that he would have to do it more often. He would talk to Beni about it when all this was over.
"Oooo," Titanite told Morgan, waggling her brows. "That is a language that I do not speak." she leaned in, waggling her eyebrows. "I would let you both kiss me with fists or your lovely, possibly foul, mouth. But this is not a night for that."
She held out her arms, rocking from side to side in a dancing motion. "Tonight is a night for a fun dance, ladies. If you can take me out, I will give you both a kiss. If I take you both out, you will let me give you a kiss. I think it sounds like this game will be a victory for all considered." Titanite had not forgotten Red or Sexy, but with the light exploding and the chance for others on the field... she would stay right here with two lovely ladies who might not be in a relationship.
Then the beautiful Guinevere spoke, and Titanite crossed her hands over her heart. "English!" she cried dramatically. "My father was from that wet little island. بيد أنني، وتأتي من حرارة الصحراء." Arabic rolled off her tongue, teal eyes dancing. "So you do not feel jealous, most beautiful Guinevere..." she darted in, swatting at the dark-skinned senshi's bum as well with open palm.
”Excellent,” Oberon mumbled to himself as he scavenged through the cabinets of the funeral home for whatever might be useful. He found a plethora of chemicals, and started stuffing them into the many pockets of his pants. He wasn’t entirely sure what they could do, but hopefully they would cause enough of an irritable distraction when up against these people. All they had to do was fight the negaverse, right? Nothing new.
Stumbling his way out of the building, he caught sight of the battle going on. It wasn’t difficult to miss. Their best bet was to clear the area of the Negaverse and then move on, right? There were others that would need help.
There was an Earth knight that seemed to need help against a very familiar General, and Oberon narrowed his eyes on Benitoite, having heard enough about him even if he didn’t have any specific interactions with him.
“Hey!” he called in the General’s direction, hurling a couple of the glass jars of the chemicals at Benitoite. Maybe that would buy the others some time to kick his butt.

Aquila felt a number of auras around the area of the old church, all close enough together that it was tough to sort them all out. So she decided to get a wider view of the situation, and the church offered the perfect vantage point. With one strong jump, she landed on the roof, and in a moment she was standing on its peak, with one hand resting against the steeple to help steady herself. From her birds-eye view, she had a much easier time spotting all the figures on the ground and sorting out who was on which side. There seemed to be a bunch of little battles going on, and it seemed like everyone was fighting someone else. None of the Negas going unhindered, then. So she just picked a target and jumped down to join in.
In her mind, she pictured herself dropping out of the sky and smacking the guy with an unexpected blow, which would have been cool. Instead, she kind of flubbed the landing and stumbled as she lashed out at him, so her strike turned into more of a swat. But she recovered quickly and in a moment had her feet planted steadily and her fists raised in a fighting position. "Need a hand?" she asked the guy fighting the Nega (who seemed to have...cat ears?)
Bloodthirsty? Forsterite didn't consider herself bloodthirsty. And she hadn't had any qualms about throwing the cat because aside from the fact that it'd been clawing her up, cats landed on their feet. But she wasn't about to waste more time arguing such petty matters. She'd got what she wanted; the super senshi finally seemed to be provoked into action. That was more like it. Now she didn't have to worry so much about what potentially dangerous powers the sailor scout might have been hiding because she would be able to see it first-hand. Or smell it. Was that...coffee?
The lieutenant took a cautious step back at the sight of the magic in the form of the illusionary beverage pouring from Subamara's palms. Instead of streaming toward her, however, the coffee enchantment dampened the paws - and then, suddenly, the feet - of the guardian feline-turned-human. Forsterite's brows rose.
She didn't have long to be surprised at the transformation, however, because the 5'5" young man came at her with cat claws extended. It seemed like she still had reason to be concerned for her outfit after all. Catching the slash on her forearm, she kicked up her leg once more to try to catch the young male in the side. "I wonder if you have the same balance on two legs that you had on four."
Her kick didn't make as solid a contact as she would have estimated, however, because something - or someone, as it turned out - whacked her on the back of her head. Putting a hand back to feel for the damage, she murmured, "Three against one, now? That's not very sporting..."
The little cat always seemed to know exactly what to say when worry and doubt set in. And the wink said he had a plan. If he thought he and Athene could hold the battle while she looked for something to break it up, Subamara believed him.
It was gratifying to see the Lieutenant step back from her potential magic, treating her as a threat even though she knew she totally wasn’t. The coffee probably looked impressive if you didn’t know what it did. And then Liryn added to the misdirection, suddenly shooting upward from tiny fluff into a man of about her height – taller, probably, since she was in heels and his feet were bare. Knowing cats could do that didn’t make it less of a surprise. At least she wouldn’t have to watch her small furry friend get flung again. An unexpected new ally flew down to join them also, and she was finally convinced that it was safe to leave her friends, if only for a moment. Turning tail on Forsterite, Subamara took off towards the church.
Another senshi was already throwing things towards the knight and general. That meant she needed something to scare off the lower-ranked agents.
At the church door, she hesitated, a brief image of many many Nonna Gennaros frowning down at her from on high flitting through her head. She’d stopped going when her dad stopped. Sundays were busy. And anyway, she didn’t think the Pope had jurisdiction over far-flung asteroids in deep space.
It looked seriously abandoned, anyway. With silent apology to her earthly grandmothers, she entered the building and began to search for something, anything to break up the fight outside.

Whilst Liryn wasn't able to fully avoid the Lieutenant's answering kick, the boost from Subamara's magic increased his speed just enough for Liryn to avoid the worst of it.
He swung out at the Lieutenant again, but was partially distracted by the shift of movement as a figure dropped down from above and so the blow didn't have as much force behind it as it could have.
"Actually it's two" he corrected the Lieutenant as Subamara headed in the direction of the church, following the plan to search the church in his stead... "And you didn't seem to mind before."
Well okay, so it had been more suggestion than actual plan - but Liryn had decided that he was totally going to call it a plan.
His purplish eyes were serious as he glanced at the brown-haired senshi "Yes" he agreed, because he was picking up on the auras of a youma - no make that more than one youma.
"We need to head south" he added, because that was the direction that the light had come from. "At least after we deal with things here."

Eternal Sailor Athene
Athene kept his face neutral as the taller Captain suddenly stepped back and away from him of his own volition, a part of him suspecting that the other's willingness to sudden put distance between them was nothing good...
But it created an opening of his own - the chance he'd been waiting for - as Athene called on his magic.
"Blue Beads of Nazar – intensated!"
And whilst his first instinct was to direct the beads that formed towards the most dangerous threat - the General - a brown-haired Super senshi appeared to be helping the Knight to engage him.
So Athene directed the beads towards the second most dangerous threat, the Captain, a part of him hoping that his magic would choose to co-operate - particularly given the fact that the other seemed to be now complete with youma and Athene very rather suspected that that was the reason for the sudden distance.
He kept an eye to them, at the one that had a rose for a head and thorns for arms and legs - and at the one that looked like a cat complete with fur on edged as something sparked up and down it.

Blue beads of Nazar – intenstated: Athene’s super level attack takes the form of a ‘ball of beads’ that can trap a target with ill will towards either Athene or one of his allies in a barrier of beads if it connects. (Ill will means that the target wishes to cause some form of harm to either Athene or his ally). Target can still jump, block, or strike with their weapon - but they cannot leave the ring of beads. Beads can be smashed by someone outside the barrier, smashing half (24 to 30) will bring down the barrier. Duration: About thirty seconds (or 2 posts).

5 PER (pass) The church was, indeed, abandoned. Looters stripped the place of nearly all its valuables, beyond those taken out by the previous denizens. Pews sat askance in close circles where squatters and mischievous youth gathered at separate times. Crushed paraphernalia, old newspapers, discarded food and other unpleasantries laced the area to produce a thick, pungent stench. Visiting the derelict church offered one no great shelter anymore. A crate on the floor sat full with a large number of glass bowls. Perhaps if smashed on the ground, they would provide a too-dangerous area for fighting. (5 DMG, accuracy -1 for all parties in the area This is not a zone effect.)
10 PER (pass) Beneath one of the pews, shoved aside in a haphazard way, something gleamed from the garbage around it. Closer inspection confirmed a set of keys, which ostensibly offered nothing at need, but one of the many attachments (apart from the collection of carabiners) gave a useful counterattack. A keychain-size cane of Mace promised protection and, in these circumstances, a way to force others to stop and think. (Can spray 1 target to render them unable to act for 2 turns. Must roll accuracy for use. 2 uses.)
