Aksaja

Part time job huh? In a library...? Aksaja couldn't really say that he was normally big on books and such. But a job was a job. It wouldn't hurt anything to check it out. Just see what they wanted done. If it was easy he could probably make money pretty quickly. Had to keep the minipets fed, after all.

He walked in to a scene of chaos and blinked, staring around for a minute or two. Suddenly, a gremlin practically appeared in front of him and started babbling about grabbing quills and writing. "Uh. I'm not exactly a good wr--"

"I don't care what you think of just write anything," the gremlin interrupted him then turned and rushed off to accost another newcomer.

"Right. I don't know about this job," Aksaja muttered, staring at quills and books laying around everywhere. Still, it sounded easy? Write anything. Anything at all. Shrugging, he hunted for a quill that looked less stepped-on and then grabbed a book at random.

When he opened it though, he felt himself being sucked in and roared in surprise. This was not what he signed up for!

Aisa

Aisa saw a little war duckling impatiently prancing the halls, and naturally she couldn't help but follow her. She couldn't place why but something about this warling was reminiscent of Eris centuries ago. It was probably in the way she carried herself, a tinge of amusement lacing Aisa's perpetual frown. Her hand ran through her ebony black hair, unfazed to finding herself summoned to the library. Her fingers ran over the touch of ancient books, reflecting they were nearly as old as she was. Perhaps, generously, half as old as she was.

Disinterested in the happenings around her, Aisa looked around the aisles, wondering where the young female of war went. Catching sight of her purple top, Aisa quirked her head as the female rapidly disappeared--

--as Aisa disappeared on her own. Oh, quirky libraries and their books of teleportation spells.

Tedan

Tedan was laying back on his bed, pretty much just staring at the ceiling when his phone buzzed with a new text message. He almost didn't look at it, lost in his own thoughts. But a wordless prod from Ardavan reminded him that yes he apparently had responsibilities. At least lately, it seemed like things had been fairly calm. Or what passed for calm around here.

Scrolling through the message, he sat up quickly and re-read it. Missing Hunters? He hadn't heard anything about that... but then again, he'd been sort of out of the loop lately. And it was a Class A mission. A Class A that didn't sound like it was going to involve maiming or anything like that.

his weapon asked, sounding just as bored as he felt. But that was pretty normal for Arda.

"Sure, why not," he muttered in reply, levering himself off the bed to gather up his uniform and such. Then he headed out, only to find that the good golem were already gone of course. Sighing, he chose one at random, only afterwards realizing he'd picked a female golem. Some kind of witch looking thing, judging by the pointy hat and broom. Wow, how generic could you get? Was this even going to be convincing to the monsters over there??

Well, he didn't really want to waste time choosing again so he just logged in and tried not to think about it too hard.

And he woke up in a library. What the ...? All righty then.

came the very unenthusiastic commentary.

"Yea..." he muttered in reply, staring at some kind of goblin-thing as it started babbling at him about quills and books and writing. He nodded vaguely, still trying to figure out what exactly was going on. There weren't any other obvious golems that he could see - or tell that they were Hunters - so it looked like he was on his own.

Wandering around, he almost tripped over a precarious pile of books and frowned down at it, hands on his hips. Finally, he picked up a random book with a sigh. If nothing else, maybe he could do some research on the Halloween world?? But the book had other ideas, as it quickly sucked him inside of it what the everloving fu----

[Hunter - Kyle]

A Class A search and rescue mission? Really? Aren't Class A missions like really really difficult or dangerous?

Kyle couldn't believe his eyes when he got the text on his phone. He would have dismissed it as a prank or a mistake on the textbot's part had he not managed to confirm that Matt as well as a couple of other trainees whom he knew had received it too. It seemed strange that trainees were allowed to participate in this. Maybe they really needed everyone available whom they could get plus the combined strength from the resultant number of hunters who showed up eventually at the lighthouse at the mentioned time and date probably made it less dangerous?

Matt? Have you used one of these golems before? How do they work exactly?

Was what he wanted to ask the older Moon intermediate who was with him, only that he didn't get around to it in the end with everyone scrambling for the next available golem so as to not fall too far behind from the rest of the group.

Always a first time for everything in life.

Semaj quipped. It didn't help his anxiety over the uncertainty of what was to come very much, but he could at least appreciate the incubus’ attempt nonetheless. Well, here goes nothing then. He gave a nod to the tech who had given him an abridged version of how things worked within the golem, glancing over at Matt as he flipped the switch and waited for the golem to do whatever it was supposed to.

Everything happened in an instant.

The next thing he knew, he found himself inside a place with a great many books. A bookshop? A library? The transition in space was kind of disorientating and had him taking a few steps back as he stared wide-eyed and gaped at everything around him.

Tria

Tria knew the Library was going to be an adventure. Getting lost in books was something that was just right up her alley! Any time she could find to curl in with a book in front of a fire was time well spent, as far as she was concerned. And getting a temporary job in a library? Surely there would be time to skive off in some dusty corner with some long forgotten book---

How was she supposed to know the adventure would be so much more than that?! She was supposed to ... Write her own stories? She was only 276 years old! This wasn't something she'd known she'd have to do for the job! Tria squirmed uncomfortably before picking up the first book a passing troll hurled passed to her, together with an satchel of ink and quills. Well. What on earth would she fill this particular book with? Doodlings of dragons in party hats sounded just perfect, Tria decided.

But she didn't end up having the time to add anything to her particular book....

Ernest

When he got the text message, Ern immediate started getting ready to go. He wasn't sure who was missing or why but it was obviously now his job to find them. He chose a ghost golem pretty much at random and soon found himself in a library.

Pretty much ignoring the gremlin and it's babbling, he decided to check inside one of the books and yelped as he was pulled inside....

He was just returning this book. The one about dating undead for dummmies. And then he got eaten.

"Not again."

Aureole Ettore

The last time Aureole had experienced raining papers had been when she had her very own paper snowfall from the large amount of letters that she had to dump on the daily from her father back home.

But this one was FAR more interesting and exciting than some dumb, boring, old diplomatic letter.

This was a call for assistance to the library. And it paid!

It did mention books but she didn't bother to read too much of the rest after the books 'hiring' and 'paid' so off she went.

Upon arriving at the library, it was just absolute chaos. And she thought her father's adviser's were bad!

"Hmmm... Where to even start...?"

A rather somewhat sharply dresser gremlin clambered over to her and instructed her to just find any quill and begin her job immediately. Well, if he said so~

While Aureole was used to using some of her own discarded feathers as quills, the ones that lay strewn about on the floor would have to do. She was careful to not crush one underneath her hooves and had actually managed to find a silky black quill.

Now it was time to begin her work!

She flipped open the closest book to her and found a quick surprised yelp escape her as she is sucked into the book!

Perhaps this was more of a job for her cousin than herself...

[ Pokerus - Monster ]

For the past few months Pokerus had been keeping herself amused with her own little pet projects and the like, though while she had been busy with such things, the water dragon always kept a finned ear out for anything weird going on, for it usually meant either the hunters or horsemen would be involved. It was strange to note that, however, she had heard nothing about either of them for a while now. Every now and then she would wonder how the hunters were fairing in their constant battles, and if the horsemen planning some nefarious plot to take over the human world. Whatever the case may be, it had been quite peaceful as of late.

Walking down a street in halloween town, she was mulling over what would be good to eat when her vision was obscured by a flyer. Pulling it from her face, she looked up to see many flyers were falling from the sky. Huh, she thought the flyer storm was supposed to happen next week. A glance at the paper in hand told her of a part time job at the library, and money was involved. Being the good dragon that she was and having a keen interest in anything shiny, she decided to check it out. She could always quit if it got boring, and she was curious as to why the library would need to send out so many flyers; wouldn't a note on the building have been sufficient?

It didn't take long for her to reach the library, the town portal acting as a rather convenient shortcut. Stepping through the doors, the dragon could only stare at what she considered was complete and utter pandemonium. The library itself appeared as if it had been under siege, with books strewn around, their pages torn to shreds or ripped out entirely. She stepped back as someone rushed past, holding handfuls of paper and shouting to someone else who also had their hands full of used quills and empty ink jars.

Just....what had happened here?! Why would someone attack a library out of all things? It was the first idea that came to mind, but then there was also the 'someone decided to mess around with something they shouldn't have and made things go boom' idea that seemed just as plausible. At any rate, it was clear they needed help repairing the books.

Pokerus considered herself a good read and writer, so she had no issue with re-writing ancient text and preserving knowledge. However it also occurred to her that she had no idea what was originally contained in many of these books. As she pondered this, one of the tiny gremlins greeted her with relief, and told her to just grab a quill and start writing, before bustling off to greet others. She didn't even get a chance to ask anything.

The instructions were easy to follow, but she was left with the impression that just picking a book and writing whatever she wanted...wasn't going to help things. Shrugging it off, she went around searching for the elusive quills, the item in short supply as everyone was looking for the same thing. She eventually found one behind a pile of books, and she took both with her to a vacant table, placing them down and picking up a book. At least this one seemed to have a few pages left in it, perhaps she could read what was left and guess the rest?

As soon as she opened it, she had just enough time to think "What the f-" Before she was pulled into the book itself.

[Student: Vania]

Vania was excited.

She'd never had a job before. Her parents had always deemed it unnecessary, a minor tribulation given to those who needed it, and weren't as rich as they were.

Of course, Vania almost always went against whatever they said -- she wanted to try things out for herself, never really taking someone else's word for it.

After all, how were you supposed to know if you didn't experience it yourself?

So she took the flyer, not worried about the cost (or lack thereof), and ended up being ushered to a book, quill put in her hand with ease.

Huh. So she was just supposed to start writing, right?

But... nothing came to mind.

All she could think about was the lack of adventures she had been on, and set her quill on the paper, trying in vain to think of something.

It only took a few moments before everything shifted -- she was sucked into the book, leaving behind an empty space... quill floating to the ground in her wake.

October Flynn

October had never been on a mission in his life.

Unless one counted the whole thing that had happened before he'd come to Deus, and even then, he had a hard time recalling exactly why that counted at all. It seemed a little pointless to put forth energy into anything all - October's basic entire premise of life - but it was, in fact, something he had to do at some point in his life.

He regretted this choice almost immediately.

Carlos liked books. He didn't quiet know what was going on but that was fine. Carlos was ok to come along for the ride.

He had found a good nap place. Hiding among the books. It was a good spot, that fit his body just so. Even if he had to move a few out of his way to get there.

And there he napped, so he never noticed that he got sucked into a book.

[Student - Zaire]

Jory had been right...

He had been in class, he was looking for work and he didn't particularly find the library to be...worth while.

When Zaire got back from his late class the flier tapped to door was promptly pulled off. At first it was given a glance as he shuffled inside the room. Not much thought was given to the paper before he sat down on his bed to read it. A library job didn't sound so exciting to a monster like the mahamba, in fact it sounded boring as well- about as boring as could be.

But a moment to think of why such a thing would even be on his door and mind settled on his boilfriend. Was Jory planning to work at the library? Maybe he should go make sure his boilfriend was doing alright, because while Jory had come a long way while they had been together in his strangeness...Zaire knew it could still get the better of the blue boil. A pull of a coat and he was out the door and heading for the library, not really intending to work there...

Because he wasn't crazy.

On his way to the library a message was sent to Jory, a simple where are you, even though he was pretty sure he knew. When he did arrive finding his boilfriend wasn't happening, no, instead he was mobbed by a bunch of rushing workers and praised for being so large. They ended up forcing him into pulling things from top shelves for the longest time. Well at least until he got annoyed enough to swipe at one with tail, then it was being pushed while protesting to a desk with a book, quill and ink.

Zaire huffed as he was given vague instructions but after a moment to consider how much food he could buy with more money the empty book was open and it was over.

Hunter Saya Valens

Saya nervously walked in the library, really really trying to heed what the little thing was saying. Nervously, Saya walked over to a book, intending to stay and just mindlessly look through a page or two--

-- well, getting sucked into a book wasn't the worst experience she had ever had.

(( Hunter - Sin ))

An A-class mission, huh? Moreover, to save some of their fellow hunters? Though the message was worded oddly, the one-eyed hunter was rapidly becoming used to Deus's quirks. Whether or nor that was good or bad.. was probably an issue that was best left alone. Moreover, it was a good chance for him to see another mission (that was probably life-threatening and detrimental to his every health, but who was counting that, right?). His status as trainee didn't sem to deter the hunter from joining. Despite all warnings and better judgement by Undine, Sin had cheerfully accepted.

Suiting up in the golem, Sin had a great deal of fun. "s**t, I haven't been in one of these for a while." He remarked to himself, slipping the respective costume over him. So what if he was something as conventional as a ghost or vampire? Seriously, he wasn't going to complain. Besides, they would discard the theatrics soon enough. Didn't they always?

Time to log in- was the hunter's last thought before he awoke abruptly on a very .. familiar setting. "Uh.." He remarked to himself, wondering if he had fallen into a dream. Unfortunately, the voice in his head was quick to remind him otherwise. A library? It seems like the last place you'd ever be in. Undine's emotions were obvious; a suspicious snort that sounded an attempt to cover her laughter didn't fool the hunter in the least. "Yeah, yeah, laugh to yourself all you want." He responded, sitting himself up. He used a nearby shelf to regain his balance. He wasn't good with these types of places.. moreover.. there were very few people here, including his fellow hunters.

"What's happening?" He wondered aloud. And what sort of library was this anyway? Any type of library you mysteriously awoke in was probably not a very normal library- oh, there was an elf talking. Yeah, not a normal library. Probably didn't have normal books either-

He probably should have paid heed to that last wandering thought, without carelessly picking up an upturned book on the ground to check it out, and being sunk into oblivion.
