It wasn't long before Noel's three pokemon returned looking renewed and refreshed from their little spa date. Noel grinned as Algernon toddled over to him, eyes even shinier than he recalled. Mattimeo gave chirps of excitement, bouncing around in jubilation while Quixote chased after him, just as excited about the refreshment. They all looked good and his other pokemon were well off as well. Alanna and Wilbur had pigged out on some goodies and looked content with their full stomachs, Sherlock having observed the surroundings and sniffed all the interesting flora while Hyde danced about with the luau ladies nearby. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves; which made it a shame that he’d decided it was time for them to get a move on. It was time to get back to training and all so that they could continue their mission in taking on the gyms in Unova.
"Alright guys, come on. It’s time we got going." Noel remarked to his pokemon. Earning a mix of responses, some sad others excited. He wanted to stick around longer as well but at this point… it was time to get moving. They’d had their fun and all. Retrieving their pokeballs, he returned everyone to let them rest, tucking them away on his belt before scooping up Algernon and letting the Espurr ride on the back of his shoulders. He gave thanks to the festival attendants once more, collecting his prizes into his bag and heading for the exit. Checking in briefly, he was pleased to see that they were willing to let him keep the rider pokemon for a little while longer; obviously, he’d get de-prioritized when it came to drop offs, but for now, Noel just needed to get back to Unova so it was no trouble. With a final wave farewell he was back on the back of the Pidgeot he’d ridden before and carried back to his region of origin to resume his training.

Ashley’s eyebrows arched towards the sky a bit as they touched down in Iki Town. There wasn’t just a small festival going on; it was a rather large festival, with food and party-goers and numerous events going on at the same time. It was rather startling really, how much festivities were in place for something as simple as an egg hunt. He thanked the rider Charizard and let Genevieve down, the pokemon looking about in excitement as they walked forward. The pair were greeted by a Lua dancer who placed a brightly arranged lei around his neck in greeting, He smiled some and continued forward into the festivities, looking around and spotting the turn in desk just a little ways off. He made for there immediately, turning over the collection of eggs for tallying. Soon he could choose from a large supply of prizes for a job well done. Excellent; he could do with some supplies.

After careful consideration, Ashley had selected his choice of prizes from the available selections. Some of them he intended to use now, but he thanked the attendant all the same and moved off to do such. First things first; he released his team to allow them to wander free. They deserved the moments of relaxation, even if none of them had really assisted with the hunt in the first place. He wasn’t one to place rewards on services rendered though. That was… unfair.
While the others wandered off to partake in the activities available for pokemon, Ashley halted Bastien. The Braxien still looked rather… sore about everything that had transpired regarding the hunt. He wouldn’t even look his trainer in the eye, arms folded over his chest. He seemed to only mildly relax when he realized they were at a festival of some sort. This was certainly not a place he expected a fellow like Ashley to participate in…
"Bastien." His fur bristled as his trainer addressed him, gaze shifting to look at the man. There was a studious look plastered on his face with the slightest hint of a frown; was it a look of disappointment? DIsapporval? Observance? It was hard to tell when it came to the French man. Once he’d caught the fire fox’s attention, Ashley adjusted his glasses.
"You must not hold such a grudge, mon ami. It will do you no good in ze future." Ashley shrugged. "Genevieve was clearly more suited to ze scavenger hunt than you were. But do not worry; you will be proving your worth soon enough." Bastien stared a moment, one paw pressed tentatively under his chin. Well, Ashley certainly didn’t sound… mad at least that it hadn’t been him he used to complete the hunt. Still though, what was this proving yourself babble? Before he could think more, the man produced a slip of paper for him. "There is a special treatment they are offering. It will help to clear your mind and being ze focusing you will need to become stronger." The Braixen perked in surprise as he took the ticket and held it gingerly between his paws as though one mistake would cause it to implode into dust. Ashley gave a wave of his hand towards the area where the little spa sessions were being held. "Go. Your session will begin soon and it is not wise to be late."
With that he turned and went about looking for his next pokemon to focus on, leaving a startled Bastien to eventually maneuver his way over to get his treatment. How… nice of Ashley.

Ashley paused temporarily at another booth in the festival area before continuing his search; this time looking for Genevieve. As he strolled, he knew she couldn’t have gotten too far, he carefully began to unwrap the cloth from around the shard he’d acquired. It was a special little thing and something he was fond of using from time to time when it came to his pokemon, though normally only if they truly wanted too. He had a thing for unique colorations if half his team were a testament to that. Of course, it varied who’d go for it and who wouldn’t. He enjoyed the Eevee line and they always had interesting colors along with their potential evolutions. He was entirely sure what she’ evolve into, but he was certain a little shine would make it even better. Maybe.
It didn’t take him long to locate her and Ashley couldn’t help but quirk an eyebrow. She’d taken to hiding off under one of the nearby beach chairs tucked away in the shade and by the looks of it, she was napping. Quietly he approached and knelt to reach a free hand out and gently tap her on the head.
"Dormez-vous ma chérie?" Ashley inquired softly, watching as Genevieve stirred and gave a bit of a yawn. She certainly looked like she’d been in the process of sleeping and he almost felt bad for disturbing her. It didn’t take long though for her to perk to life and give him a pleasant chirp of greeting. Ashley gave a slight smirk gently rubbing her on the head.
"I have a gift for you." With that he showed her the crystal, catching her attention which caused the smirk on his face to grow a little. "I know you are not one for ze adornments, but you would you be interested in a different color perhaps?" He gestured off to where Odilon and Augustine where lounging. "I am sure you would be just as pretty if not more so, non? If you should want, that is." He offered the crystal out a bit more in her direction, waiting patiently as she seemed to consider the offer. She’d noticed the odd coloration of some of his pokemon and the idea she could be ‘one’ of them too was interesting. It was a quiet moment of contemplation before she chirped and gave a nod of her head.
Ashley smiled. "Très bien. Hold still just a moment; this will not hurt." And with that he pulled the crystal completely free and held it close. It didn’t take long before it began to glow and Genevieve along with it. A moment later and the light faded, the crystal gone from his hand. He tilted his head a bit at the silvery color of Genevieve’s fur. The Eevee blinked and looked as well, a bit of wonderment on her face as she took in the new appearance. It was quite the change from her normal brown fur, that was certain.
" Magnifique ma chérie. That is a very regal color for you." He remarked, gently scratching her under the chin and earning a little happy chirp from here. He pulled a few other things from his bag as well he’d intended for her, clearly earning her favor. Once he was finished, he gave her a gentle pat once more and left her to return to her well earned relaxing. That was another one down for his mission. Really at this point, he had no more items nor gifts to distribute; Bastien was at the spa getting a treatment and he'd provided Genevieve with what he wanted to give her. Alphonse was enjoying himself at a nearby buffet, keeping a hold on an excited Theodor while Odilon and Augustine lounged lazily nearby. Octave still seemed to be dormant in his communicator as well; this gave him time to himself and to address the rogue pokemon now in his possession. Yes... he need to address that.

Finding himself a spare beach chair to occupy, Ashley set his things down on the side, noting Genevieve sneaking her way under his chair to hide as well. Odd, but he certainly didn’t mind and if she wanted to stay close that was alright. He moved his cases a bit to allow her to be better concealed before pulling out his laptop and opening it up at the end of the chair. The information that had been collected earlier was still there to be processed though there was still very little he could gather from it to locate the trainer. With a frown, he tugged out the ball once more and opened the connected scanner, opting to run it through once again. As he did so he recalled the other pokemon in his possession, pulling that off as well.
As he allowed the Joltik’s pokeball to be scanned, he pulled out and eyed the pokeball of the odd little creature that had originally assaulted Genevieve before their arrival here. He hadn’t had a chance to really review the creature since then but now was probably a good time. Scooting back to make some room, he unleashed the pokemon in the space before him, eyebrow quirking a bit as the small fox perked to life and flung its head around rabidly gekkering. Ashley tilted his head a moment, just watching the creature apathetically until it seemed to calm down. Soon its attention snapped back to him, staring a moment…. And then promptly withdrew itself into the odd bamboo cone surrounding its neck. Ashley stared silently. Well...

Ashley narrowed his gaze, leaning in just a bit to peer into the bamboo cone that the creature had ducked into. It certainly wasn’t dark enough to conceal the creature and he could very much tell that it seemed to be peering back awaiting his disappearance. Which wasn’t going to be happening. Ashley eventually leaned back to retrieve his pokedex and scan the pokemon. He certainly didn’t know what it was; maybe a creature native to Alola? He’d heard rumors and all about different pokemon here; which he supposed really weren’t rumors as that was a pretty common for each region. His eyebrows raised a bit though interest as the pokedex entry appeared; a Gekkit? Exactly like the sounds it’d been making, how clever. They apparently weren’t native to Alola though… just bamboo. Funny.
There didn’t appear to be much information on the creature beyond that though. A bit of information on their habitats and temperament which were good to know though meant very little on an individual basis when it came to a pokemon. Tucking the device away, Ashley turned his focus on the pokemon again, adjusting his glasses before carefully raising a hand and with a pointed finger, poking at the opening of the collar.
"Do not be a afraid, mon loulou." He murmured, still sort of poking and prodding to try and coax the creature from its armored hiding place. Ashley paused and noted the odd scratching on the outside of the collar; they looked purposeful and were in rather intricate shapes it seemed despite resembling simple scratches. The poking didn’t seem to be getting him any results and so absently he moved a finger to trace over the etchings. How curious…

As Zero blinked back into existence, he felt a great lightness in his head, one that he momentarily had to fight off before it passed. A low groan escaped his lips as rubbed his face, fatigue finally setting in again now that he'd stopped moving towards something. It took him a moment just to will the energy to move inside, feeling a temptation to just curl up and sleep on the soft grass for once. But, he resisted the urge, and entered the Pokemon Center.
The rest of the evening was pleasantly uneventful. He went into the main lobby and handed his pokemon over to the nurse, letting her heal them up before he got a room he could sleep in. Once he was in there, he set all his stuff down and removed the emerald coat he'd been wearing all this time, only discovering the severity of the night's chill when he took it off completely. Nevermoor rose up from his shadow in the middle of this, as she and Nova moved off to a little table in the corner of the room to speak. He wasn't privy to their conversation, nor did he think to inject himself into it either, simply dimming the lights and curling up in bed, leaving the two to shut things off completely whever they were done. He just wanted a nice, long rest.

Ajicka praised Jas on his speed as they arrived, and told him to hang out in the skies while she got everyone healed. She didn't see Zero around, but she assumed he already had a room. Honestly, she was both in desperate need of sleep, and yet not at all tired. She'd probably go spend some time with Jas.... maybe even sleep outside of town, camp out a bit, so she could stay with her starter, and then go to the pokecenter for breakfast. Ashley continued his attempts to coax the little fox creature from its hiding, spending a good few minutes in the process. Eventually, the creature was brave enough to peek his head partially out to sniff at the gloved finger poking around his collar. At first Ashley was pleased with this, allowing the pokemon to take the time to familiarize himself with him. And then it nipped at the man, which was not approved of.
"Ach," the French man hissed, snapping his hand back as his gaze narrowed on the creature. The Gekkit gave a little yip before immediately withdrawing back into his collar, once more simply staring (at least, he assumed it was staring, the creature’s eyes seemed to be perpetually closed so it was hard to tell) at the man. Ashley titled his head, eyebrow raising as he gazed into the collar. This creature was … odd. He wasn’t sure if it was simply shy or scared; maybe the former, given that it had so nonchalantly attempted to attack Genevieve. No matter; he would get it to come around eventually.
'SIR.' The urgent voice suddenly chimed from his computer. "What is it Octave?" Ashley drawled, returning his attention to the Gekkit and poking and prodding to convince it once more to come out. "Did you find new information on ze Joltik?" Despite his focus on the odd little creature, the urgent response he suddenly received didn’t startle him.
'There’s been a breach in the Interpol network.' Octave immediately remarked, not at all bothering to answer the question that had actually been posed. "Excusez moi?" Ashley’s attention immediately shifted from the pokemon in his lap, brow furrowing. He immediately straightened his position, pulling the lap top closer to look. The only thing he had active on the screen was the scan, which had finished long ago and sent his computer into a dormant state. He quickly opened the program to check the network for Interpol, swiftly logging himself in and beginning to look. He saw an instance where his credentials were being asked for regarding access that he’d never requested; an immediate red flag. And then he opened the logs and saw it.
There was someone on the network roaming; opening files and digging about.
In his name. Ashley’s gaze narrowed to slits. Another instance of him on the network, but clearly not. Requesting information and digging about Interpol’s servers for who knew what.
That wasn’t good.
Ashley adjusted himself, the Gekkit still in his lap and slowly beginning to peek out to observe the sudden tension in the air. Already Ashley was working away on his own computer. "Octave, how long have I been in ze system with these credentials." Ashley demanded, the screen filtering to life for a moment as the pokemon quickly pulled the logs to produce a time, one that caused Ashley to his a little bit. It wasn’t terribly long, but enough that he found himself agitated that he hadn’t been alerted sooner. Octave usually was on point with these kind of things, but there would be time to scold on that later.
"Octave, begin to pull ze logs of what has been accessed during this time. I want to know what they have looked at, what they have tried to look at, what they have not touched… all of it. Time-stamped. Now." He remarked, watching as a new command window opened and flickered to life.
Honestly, that work was secondary in importance; he’d need it for later once this had been handled and contained but the sooner he could get it all the better. No, now his focus was cutting this intruder out of the system. He gave them props for getting this far; it was impressive. But if he allowed them to get any farther well… he certainly wouldn’t be good at his job. Immediately he set about to work; he’d need to gauge the threat and figure out what the deal was, but stopping them was the primary priority. He initiated his own code; the moment his credentials were requested to access information, the system altered the encryption and demanded new data to be entered. If the perpetrator was running programs then they’d be stopped, needing initiation again to both find out the new credential information and re-access. And if they were free handing it... well, much the same but they'd certainly notice right away. It didn’t kick them off the system right away, but Ashley didn’t want that anyways. No, he needed to keep them there for a moment to do is own tracing and alter access points.

The moment Scarlett landed in Iki Town and took a look around, noting that there was no sign of Zak, that was the moment she finally relaxed, letting out a breath that she hadn't been aware of holding. She'd made it. Not that there was any doubt she wouldn't, but... It didn't hurt to take precaution. She didn't know Zak very well, but she had no doubts that he wasn't fond of being lied to, even if it was as harmless as this. After all, she did have all fifty eggs now, and she was here and finished before he was, and she had even graciously offered a way to still win. So it wasn't a lie anymore, nor would Zak be finding out that she had lied, and she had cut him more than enough slack.... So why was her heart still pounding?
Scarlett laughed at herself, at the situation, about how stupid it all was. She wasn't even scared, it was thrilling. This whole race, making sure that he didn't catch her. It was certainly meeting expectations. She sighed, relaxing and shaking her jitters out. Now it was time to go indulge in her reward. Oh, and respond to that text she'd kept telling herself she'd respond to.
Oh, I'm sure you were quite the anatomy student. Did they ask you to model for the class?
Really? I would think anyone worth their salt would at least make sure to knew what mushrooms were poisonous and eatable. That way they don't accidentally poison their pokemon thinking they were just feeding them a big or balm mushroom they found in the ground.
Really, what were they teaching these days? Being basically homeschooled and self taught, she supposed she didn't know, but really? This was essential and frankly, basic survival skills that all trainers should take the time to know. Maybe her father and her own interests had just made sure to pay close attention, not even with just mushrooms. Identifying useful leaves, herbs, roots, berries.... She was no wilderness expert, but she at least knew a lot of common plants and fungi, and how to identify that they were poisonous, or okay to eat. Then of course there was the basic rule of thumb that if you weren't 100% sure what it was, you didn't mess with it.

Ashley had already begun work trying to pinpoint where the attack had originated from, tracing the residual flow of the perpetrator through Interpol’s network. Octave had managed to retrieve the requested logs in a timely manner as well as indicate the portion that was related to his own information, time stamps and all. That helped and soon, Ashley was walking in reverse to figure out how long it took the individual at each point to access. Obviously, with his credentials, it didn’t take long but that was to be expected on a base service level.
He was focused, walking backwards in accordance with what the logs told him. If he found the start, he found the door and if he found the door he would find the filthy mud-tracks of this intruder. That’s how it often went about 90% of the time (at least for him) with hackers. Very rarely did they think they’d have to cover their tracks in the middle of their robbery.
Except this one. As Ashley back tracked, things became distorted and he immediately took notice. Paths didn’t match the log information at times or suggested two things going on at once which couldn’t have been so. Access here, when there wasn’t, double access here… accesses disappearing all together.
Someone was covering their tracks. Ashley tilted his head a bit, staring at the screen a moment as he double checked. Someone was smart. Which was odd. Usually, when they were caught, hackers dropped and ran. This one wasn’t. Or didn’t seem to be. Ashley continued nonetheless with attempting to track, focused despite the clear attempts to throw him off. So be it, there were always ways-
He scowled a little as his x-transceiver went off. Multiple times. He was certain that it was his work contacting him to inform about the situation; his credentials spontaneously changing on the spot while he was supposedly accessing the network would raise alarms among others no doubt. Not looking away from his computer, he fished the device free from his bag, earning a little yip from the Gekkit still in his lap. He’d pretty much forgotten about the creature at this point, but made no attempts to remove it. His communicator was blowing up; really, could they be that bothered by this?
It wasn’t work. Ashley paused only a moment in his typing to stare at the messages as they scrolled onto the screen one by one, an eyebrow quirking as the whole thing finally came into view. And then he rolled his eyes. Someone was both very bold and had clearly watched one to many spy movies. Still though, the fact that they were actively contacting him meant they had breached far enough to collect some information on him. Which… he supposed wasn’t too far off the mark given they were hijacking his credentials.
Ashley ‘tch’ed and narrowed his gaze, resuming to key up a program to continue the tracking and see if there were any little clues to guide him through all the deceit. This… was interesting. New even. He watched the monitors for the network, continuing to keep track and alter accesses farther into the system as a precaution. This person, whoever they were, wasn’t too deep in and wouldn’t be getting much further if he had anything to say about it. But prevention was worth an ounce of cure. He eyed the text again, thinking a moment before finally tapping something out.
They have not. Thank you for doing so though, you are most kind for a criminal. It is a bit early to boast, no? I do not believe you have made it as far as you think. And you are most welcome. I hope you enjoyed your joy-ride; you will not be using them again.
Ashley sent the text off, frowning a little as he eyed the messages. He set the program up again to change the credentials once more if they were used, watching the screen closely for other alerts. They were still in the system, back-tracking and now texting him… would this person be foolish enough to keep going now that they were aware someone was watching? He… actually wanted to find out…

Soon, Scarlett was approached by a young woman draped in leis, wearing a short floral top and tan cloth skirt tied at the hip. "Alola! Welcome to the Festival of Eggs! Are you here to sign up, or turn in?" Scarlett blinked. "Uh, sign up? Didn't realize I had to do that. Just heard about it and started collecting eggs." The woman smiled apologetically. "Oh! Well that's a little unorthodox, but it works just fine too. We can just sign you up now and then get your eggs counted." She offered with a smile, leading Scarlett away to a wooden counter that had some kind of scale with a basket so that they could weigh the eggs. When it came to egg counting, Scarlett wasn't keen on handing her bag over given that... Well, she had weapons inside and that might cause issues, but she did start unloading her eggs, fistfuls at a time onto the counter so that the woman could move them into the basket. The woman didn't really seem to mind the method at least.
Eventually, Scarlett had taken out all fifty eggs and handed them over, noting how much lighter her bag was now. They had really weighed a lot... Not that Scarlett had minded or noticed until now, and she was actually kind of glad. She'd take the free weight training. "Alright! Fifty eggs, all noted and accounted for. That gives you the option of the prizes on this list plus 250 pukka shells to work with at our prize booth~" The woman explained, gesturing to the prizes lining the nearby shelves. It looked like an assortment of goods, from contest accessories, to megastones, to pokeballs, and medicine like max revives. Kind of like the prize booth at the RenFest. Scarlett first looked over the list of prizes she'd won by collecting fifty eggs. It was like a tier reward sort of thing, where collecting certain numbers of eggs earned a level of rewards plus all of those below it. "So do I need to decide on these now?" Scarlett asked. "Nope! Actually we would prefer you take that list and contact us using the email below on the paper, and we'll ship you the items. Here, just put your contact information down here, and your PC information." Scarlett filled out the forms under the alias Regina O'Connor along with her PC info so that they could send pokemon and items requested at her leisure, along with a way of keeping track of what prizes she had already asked for.
In the meantime, she glanced over her list of prizes. Most of what she wanted was already available there, so thinking that she could get even more was a little overwhelming. In the meantime... "But I'm assuming that these shells I need to spend now at this booth, right?" Scarlett asked. "Mhm, that's correct." Scarlett took a look at the prizes available, thinking to herself. Eventually deciding before taking pictures of her flyer and putting it away. It was a nice prize list, and just in case she lost it or it got damaged she wanted to have some sort of backup.

Ashley watched with… dismay? No, no not that. Shock? No… not that either. Maybe it was some level of wonderment really; there was a lot to it. This was certainly a different than other hacker confrontations. And now, he was on alert. Whoever it was had gone and recovered his credential information again after he’d changed it again and immediately went about once more searching for information. Was this person stupid? What was going on. He took a deep breath and immediately initiated the program to reset the credentials again, still monitoring the program he had running to try and trace the attacker. Increasingly more false leads kept appearing and he found his brow furrowing even more as such occurred. There was something off about it all.
He glanced over as his communicator went off again with response messages, picking it up and looking to see the response. The whole one line at a time thing was a bit annoying, if only it seemed like try-hard edginess. Who did that? Who was this? Cyberpunks usually weren’t this bold. He glanced at his computer and changed the program a bit for the tracking; beginning to save and notate what he already had.
You are using my credentials, but you are not me. That is illegal and makes you a criminal. Skepticism is a healthy thing to have. Especially since I do not know you. I’d prefer you just left.
And then it hit. A virus. Of course a ******** virus. Ashley hissed between his teeth and startled the Gekkit in the process, the poor creature withdrawing again as the man immediately snapped into action. Whoever this was had some serious balls to throw a virus at him in the middle of all this and it wasn’t long before Ashley was dismantling the threat. He took note of the code, the intention of the virus and kept an eye on the network as he went. He’d changed enough of the deeper information for protection purposes though general information was still available; and that was still too much. It really didn’t take him long to handle the virus and get back on track with the intruder; only to catch the b*****d still in the system and using his credentials. How. The program was running to reset them on every request. So, what was he using?
"Merde..." Ashley swore, immediately working to change it. The program was still changing but it seemed somehow, they manage to keep old credentials intact, viable even. That took an exceptionally skilled individual to do in such a short time. He focused and worked faster, hard coding his way into the system and replacing the credentials of his own accords with no requests to the system to do so. If it’d been hacked or the program wasn’t working, then this was really the only way to bust the perpetrator out; that or eliminate his authorization on the network entirely but that…. That was basically a nuclear option that he didn’t want to do.
At about this point, he was in as much control as he could be. He terminated the credentials entirely and set them himself under different protocols just to be certain and start to weave back through to wall any further progression. At about this point he noticed that once again, the logs for tracking were beginning to look wonky, pausing a moment and altering the program accordingly. They were back tracking again; covering tracks in the middle of all this. It was crazy and provoking and just… bizarre.
And bad. Ashley watched a moment, initiating scans to check for any remaining signs of unauthorized interaction. It was quiet… but still he kept things running. The programs were still tracing as well, though he could already tell he’d have to root through bogus flags. Amazing. Just… amazing. He heard his communicator go off again and gingerly picked it up. One last text.

That was fun. We should do it again sometime
Ashley’s gaze narrowed. He was… quiet for a moment, taking in what had happened. He hadn’t even realized his adrenaline was pumping until just now. Giving another wayward glance at the computer he paused and typed out a response.

You are a ballsy b*****d. You will regret this.
Not a threat, even if it might've read like one. But he meant it. He sent the text off and turned to his computer to work. There would be no ‘next time’. This was a challenge. They’d hacked Interpol server, subverted his security measures, tricked his programs, attacked him with a virus and … taunted him? Seemed like taunting. Really, the whole Interpol hacking thing was what should’ve mattered; given all the trouble they were dealing with already, hacking and stolen information just didn’t make it better. Which was what he’d need to deal with first; alerts were needed, higher-ups needed to be informed, reports written and given. A lot of boring work. But… he could do that… and still try to trace this b*****d. His program had surfaced a few traces left behind; expected for such a quick clean up. He started saving the information and cross checking it. No… they weren’t getting away with this.

As Scarlett had been busy making her pukka shell purchases, she had gotten some texts back from Zak. Thankfully now she was in a better position to respond to them without getting distracted by egg hunting or training, so she readily opened them up and read them over.

Scarlett smirked and rolled her eyes. So she'd been estimating correctly that when she'd responded, he was a little closer. Given how far away he still was, she felt a little silly for rushing through her last two eggs, but... One could never really underestimate Zak. Arceus, if he heard that though, his damn ego would be blown through the roof.
Please, I had a few months head start; you weren't going to beat me to Iki Town, even at your impressive pace. You have been making record time in collecting those eggs though. I have to admit, you probably would have beaten me if we'd been racing from the start. This was interesting. She liked Meebus already. Particularly because she was 80% sure Zak wouldn't have exaggerated his appearance for modeling that much, even if he were thinking it. Ashley gave a sigh, shoving his glasses up the bridge of his nose as he finished the last of the reports. At this point he’d done everything he’d needed to do; he’d informed his department, higher ups, changed credentials, runs scans to assure there were no remaining exploits (and was rather annoyed when he found traces of backdoor exploits in the process), changed protocols, begun to detail exactly what information had been checked and possibly stolen and all the other mess that Interpol required.
He hated it.
He was multitasking though; while he fulfilled protocol, he was still delving through the tracing logs he’d gathered throughout the time. It was a lot and shifting through the bogus false leads and misdirects was time consuming, but slowly and carefully, he was piecing together a trail. If there was anything to the last ditch ever to cover ones tracks it was that there was always something left behind; like murderers who tried to meticulously clean up a crime scene and paint it as something else. No matter how hard they tried, there were always little traces of evidence that eventually unraveled their work and revealed the true culprits.
Same situation; except without the murder. For now. Ashley was still trying to figure out the intent; information on agents and high-profile cases had been swiped and he was still trying to work out the connection between them all, was it linked to the case they already had, with missing agents and rogue ones? It seemed a little… too coincidental.
The Gekkit had eventually emerged from hiding to watch curiously as his trainer worked, though was startled when the communicator went off. Ashley eyed it dubiously; at about this point, he’d cut the number off as his communication line for work out of precaution; Arceus knew he didn’t need someone wiretapping his calls or anything, though he left it active. He picked it up and looked, eyebrow quirking once more.

I really wouldn't recommend that. And I would know, trust me.
Ashley scoffed. Amazing. To hack Interpol and suggest retaliation was unwise… hm… outstanding. Of course, he could just forget that valuable information had been stolen. Sure, that was exactly part of his job description. Except not really. He eyed the text a moment longer, glancing back at his computer again. He tapped a thumb against the screen and gave a quick response.
