What Ian felt was something hard, definitely different from the slimy and slippery texture of the surroundings. It was also about the size of a soccer ball and weighted quite a bit as Ian hauled it up. When he broke the surface of the water and hauled up the object, it was a... coconut?Fel Essence #74 Sinking Coconut
Coconut fruits in the wild are light, highly water resistant and buoyant. When a fruit fell from a coconut tree, the sea current will carry the fruit to a new land where a new tree will be grown from the fruit. That is why most coconut trees grown along the shore or on beaches.
However, this peculiar coconut has no buoyancy to speak of. When dropped into the water, it sinks right to the bottom like an anchor. If you shake the fruit, you could hear the coconut water splashing gently within, which means there are air inside the coconut. However it refuses to stay afloat, against all logic. When picked up as well, the coconut doesn't feel especially heavy, just like any normal coconut. How strange. Now that they have finally found the fel essence, it is time to dry up and perhaps make their way back to the Lab? Yuri is perhaps not in the best of shape to continue the hunt.

Cruz was still searching by the time Ian surfaced with the fruit. He came out of the water, delayed, and looked curiously at the coconut. It wouldn't have struck him as an essence at all but the needle in Eden's hand pointed right at it. Thankfully, that meant they could get out of here.
"Maybe we should bring these back," Cruz suggested as he pulled himself onto the pier. It would give Yuri time to rest and orient himself, at the very least. Whether he wanted to continue searching after that, or if the lab even wanted them to, would remain to be seen. "Wonder how the others are doing..."
He hoped everyone was alright. At least, from their experience, the essences that were taken didn't seem dangerous. That seemed lucky on its own.

"That's a good idea," Yves immediately agreed, eyeing the coconut fel essence as if he didn't quite believe it to be a true essence. Truthfully, it was a bit strange - anything could be a fel essence, it seemed. How many 'ordinary' objects had he passed that had actually been a fel essence? None, most likely, but it was something to think about.
Accepting that he had gotten into the water for nothing - and also feeling quite guilty over leaving Yuri's side, now - Yves crawled back onto the dock and tried to wring the bottom of his shirt out.
"Does everyone else think we should call it a day?" Yves asked to the group. Yuri didn't say anything, but he also didn't have to; his dazed expression was enough of an indication that it was best to move on. They had found two fel essences, that was better than none. They could always continue the search another day, right?
Yves strode back to Yuri's side and placed his palm against his back, and Yuri rubbed his eyes with a quiet groan. "I do want to go home," he mumbled, and Yves nodded sympathetically. If he'd ever allow it, Yves would have carried Yuri to the car, but the kid had too much pride.
Before he forgot, Yves gave Ian a nod. "Ah, good job finding that, by the way! Without any gear, that was a hard one."

The strange object was unusually heavy in the water, but Ian had managed to get it up to the pier. As soon as it broke the surface he could tell it was a coconut, and it didn't feel as heavy anymore. Strange... Sure enough, Eden's smile told him that the needle of their compass was pointing straight at the strange fruit. He heaved a sigh of relief and pulled himself back up onto the pier with a quiet grunt. Slicking wet curls back from his face he chuckled. "Thanks. I'm surprised I found it, I was just waving my hands around."
Eden hovered closer to the planks on the dock to inspect the coconut, rolling it onto its side. It looked completely ordinary, but she wasn't going to question it. She was ready to get home as well. After such an eventful day, she was feeling rather drained. "Yeah, let's be done. It's way too hot out here, anyway." She pulled her pink locks up into a ponytail and fanned her face with her hand.
"Yeah, I think that would be best. Especially since Yuri needs to rest. Let's take these back and call it good." He stood up and patted himself off with one of the towels Eden had snatched from a nearby yacht, carefully returning it afterward. Once everyone was dry and they had deposited the coconut into a jar to be stored in Cruz's bag for now, he and Eden led the way back to the car. The nymph seemed particularly eager to be back in the air-conditioned vehicle, and pestered Ian to turn it on shortly after he'd climbed into the driver's seat. Once she was satisfied and everyone had piled into the sedan, they headed back to the Lab.Anachrophobia We're gonna wrap it up here, since we completed that essence!
