✿ ❀ Isis had thought this was the end. Her pokemon could do nothing against the legend it seemed, though they tried. Raja was strong, and she was supposed to be good at fighting ghosts, but in this world it seemed she was powerless. Even her exorcism did little more than burn and irritate the dragon. Being held tight in the legendary's grasp, Isis couldn't wiggle her arm to reach for her other pokemon. Frightened and stuck in place, she screamed and struggled aimlessly. She hadn't even noticed when Fynx and Atona came on to the scene, too busy with her own trauma and the fact that she was being squeezed a little harder in response to Atona's warning to recognize that help had come. When she was dropped from the tendril's grasp and into the arms of her mega lucario though, she snapped out of her frightened daze and ended up clinging to him, sobbing and hiccuping in a mixture of relief in the fact that he had saved her and the fact that they had reunited at last.
Rose was soon rescued and reunited with her starter as well thanks to Agi and Fynx, but their interventions in the legend's battle with Rose only caused the giratina to grow enraged. The sudden spike of energy from the neon colored legendary was unmistakable. The beast had hardly been calm before, but now it was even more angry than before, if that was even possible. Atona jumped back with Isis in his arms, making sure that they remained at a safer distance as the legend began firing off aura spheres. As one flew towards Raja, her wisps sprung to action, moving forward to protect her from the attack. Under normal circumstances, fighting type attacks would have been able to rip through the blue flames and hurt Raja, but the wisps tried to protect the wispard anyways, and managed to succeed due to the reversed roles that types played here. They couldn't protect her from the cracking platform however when the neon colored legendary slammed it's tail down onto the floating island and tested it's durability. Things were once again looking grim. Fynx reached out to Atona telepathically, insisting that they needed to find a way to leave. "That's easier said than done at this point....!" Atona grunted, trying to keep himself and Isis stable amongst the minor earthquake they were experiencing. How in the world were they supposed to get out? They couldn't figure that out on their own before, without the added threat and stress of an angry rampaging legendary.
And then suddenly, Rose broke free of Fynx, the redhead running boldly up to the monstrous legend. "Rose!" Atona called out, attempting to stop the girl from doing anything reckless in Fynx's stead, since the psychic type was otherwise occupied with keeping control of the gravity around her. Atona had sensed the girl's feelings of helplessness and frustration, but he hadn't expected her to actually do anything about it. Before anyone could do anything though, Rose brazenly chucked an object at the giratina's head, which hit, and for a moment, Atona feared the worst, that it would earn the legend's unwarranted attention and they would have to save Rose somehow all over again. The next moment, the neon dragon disappeared in a flash of light. The object the girl had thrown was a pokeball. Atona hadn't even noticed, and neither had Rose apparently, at least not until the legend was suddenly sucked inside and captured. Staring at the ultra ball on the ground, it seemed everyone was rather stunned at this new development, especially when the ball clicked, confirming the capture. It seemed all was still for a brief moment in time, and then....
"Wh-what the heck?! You... You caught it?! What are we going to do?!" Isis was in hysterics already. She wriggled away from Atona, running up to Rose, but she didn't dare get any closer than Rose to the sealed demon inside the black and yellow colored ball. "At least it seems to be subdued. It may not have seemed like it, given the enraged tantrum it threw earlier, but between all of us, that pokemon had taken a considerable amount of damage. It's not very surprising that Rose was able to contain it." Atona explained, having quickly gotten over his stunned surprise. "So then.... Do you think maybe it'll help us get out of here...?" Isis asked curiously. Atona smiled. "Honestly? I think we have a better chance at you opening another rip in time and space with another one of your puns." Atona teased, earning a scowl from the blond. "That's not funny!""You keep saying that, but that doesn't make it true." Atona chuckled. "Ughhhhhhh.... Why can't you be serious when the situation actually calls for it?" Isis groaned. ✿ ❀

Zero continued to hear the voice as he approached the trainer and her pokemon, opening his mouth to speak before he found his words lost as the Giratina roared in anger once again. Its rage hit something of a boiling point, unquestioningly infuriated with how suddenly others had interrupted the fight. Though, to be quite fair, he technically took the fight to someone beyond Rose first, but that quickly became less relevant as the creature’s body whipped around. He slammed his tail clean into Ashen as he tried flying away, ramming him with enough force to knock the wind out of him, but the fire-type wasn’t about to go down like that. Rather than being flung away, the short arms of the grey beast dug into the Giratina’s flesh, getting a firm grip on the tail before he could be sent flying. Agi meanwhile, didn’t have much of a window to do such a thing, still in the air as a long tendril whacked him just as easily as it did Zero. However, the fighter had more than enough time to block, guarding the brunt of the damage while he was thrown well across the platform. He came out of his guard as his feet neared the ground again, his body rotating back as the first thing that touched the platform was his hand, digging into the earth and dragging scars into the ground, slowing his momentum. As soon as he finally came down to a stop, the Mega Blaziken’s ability kicked in, and with increased speed dashed back to the fight.
Zero meanwhile didn’t get ignored, as the Giratina soon shot a ball full of condensed energy right at him. Atona jumped away, Isis in tow, but that still left the silver haired trainer to defend himself against the attack as it drew closer. He reached back to grab one of his other pokemon, just as Agidyne returned, jettisoning large boulders from the platform into the Aura Sphere, effectively burying it as it broke apart the stone thrown at it. The Blaziken guarded his trainer from all the small chunks of stone that came with the detonation, bouncing harmlessly off his body while Zero still had his own arms raised in defense. He lowered his limbs and looked up at his pokemon, grinning with a nod as he thanked the pokemon. He could still hear the voice echoing in his head, speaking words that the man couldn’t help but feel…invigorated by. Alone, you are weak… He still couldn’t quite put his finger down on who the voice belonged to. It sounded like his own, certainly, but that wasn’t all that was there. You are never alone. It was as if there were… multiple voices, underlying the lead, and he felt like he somewhat “knew” what those other voices were. He just couldn’t figure out who those whispers belonged to.
Meanwhile, Ashen was still firmly attached to the tail of Giratina, charging yet another Solar Beam as the artificial sun still hung high. His beam charged quickly, and he tried firing right into the legendary’s back, but unfortunately, the battle was still raging as he did so. The ghost-type attacked the others while also trying to shake off the Charizard, causing his sunlight to extend up to the painted sky, fizzling out before it could truly touch the torn canvas. He thrashed around, trying to compensate, but all it really did was just make the dragon’s aim look infinitely worse than it actually was. Agi moved aside and let his trainer once again look at the beast ahead of them, as he began to decide what to do next, when-
Wait, it’s gone?
Zero blinked in surprise, Agi blinked, and Ashen fumbled in the air before falling to the floor in surprise. The Giratina was gone, sucked into a black-yellow Ultra Ball by a red beam of energy. Everyone watched the orb shake with baited breaths, though Ashen was still dumbfounded as to why he was now lying on his back by the time the thing clicked shut. “You… caught it…” Zero muttered out, releasing a breath he didn’t realize he’d held. His legs collapsed out from under him, a wave of fatigue suddenly crashing down on him hard. “You actually just caught a Giratina…” He could hardly believe it just ended like that. The legendary pokemon didn’t even explode from the orb either, it was just… still. Suddenly though, with the battle concluded, he sprung to his feet, remembering something very important he had to neglect during the fight. “Nova!”
The trainer scrambled to his feet and dashed over to his unconscious pokemon, lifting the Gardevoir from the flooring. He was relieved to find that she was still breathing; out cold from extreme fatigue, but otherwise she was fine. “Come on, let’s get you up…” He pulled the girl’s pokeball from his belt, returning her to the orb. “You go ahead and rest, you’ve earned it.”

Up until a certain point the journey through the Distortion world had been… almost enjoyable. Sure, there had been a few ups and down, but nothing Olivia and Vince couldn’t have handled, and for a while Olivia had actually forgotten that they were, technically, trapped without any sort of clue as to how they would escape and return to the real world. Of course, it was still a rather large issue that weighed heavily in the back of her mind, but in the back of her mind it stayed, which allowed her to have a bit of fun. Snap a few pictures, learn a bit more about Vince, make a few jokes, it’d been fun. But, of course, at some point reality would have to come crashing back in and shake Olivia to remember that this wasn’t a simple walk through a House of Mirrors, the towering houses and twisted trees were real, and this world presented a real danger to them and anyone else unfortunate enough to have gotten sucked in. This grim reminder came in the form of several screams, which instantly set Olivia in ‘protector mode’ and had her running off to try and rescue those being attacked by a rampant Giritina, an irrational and plain idiotic plan; she wasn't thinking, simply reacting. Thankfully, Vince was there to save her from herself, physically stopping her and forcing her to actually think, which meant facing a hard truth and coming to terms with the fact that they’d have to leave those people to whatever fate awaited them. It was a horrible thing to suggest, let alone do, but it was the only thing they could do and Olivia eventually accepted this, but not before lashing out at Vince. Leaving those trainers behind was wrong, but it was their only choice; Vince only had her best interest at heart.
Still, this revelation didn't help rid her of the bitter taste left in her mouth, but it did help to subside the anger Olivia had projected onto Vince. In the time that the pinkette walked ahead she used it to simmer down and refocus her attention, not once giving herself the chance to think about the lives inevitably lost. The mood between them was somber, something she concluded wouldn’t be able to fix, at least not immediately, and out of absence and a continual attempt to keep her mind occupied Olivia glanced over the few houses they were passing by, not giving them much thought until Vince suggested they make a pit stop inside of one to rest. It was a good idea, and it wasn’t as if this could be counted as breaking and entering, and so Olivia agreed, heading inside the house Vince had indicated to, the door, shockingly enough, unlocked. Being inside, she discovered almost immediately, was far better than being outside, without too many windows it gave the illusion of almost being inside a normal house, back in their world. From the entrance they made their way into the kitchen and, looking in the direction of the fridge, Olivia tried a pitiful attempt at a joke. It wasn't her best, that much was obvious, but Vince was kind enough to ignore the quality of her joke and offer one of his own in return. Olivia offered a soft, if not forced, laugh before she cast her attention back onto the kitchen itself, noting at how… quaint its design was before she was put to work, Vince giving her the job of making the salad with the few ingredients he’d managed to procure from the fridge, surprisingly fresh despite how long they’d been there. The young woman had just finished making the salad when Vince produced a few cans of soup, giving her the chance to decide, out of the three, which one they’d eat. After a bit of thought, and a mental comparison of the three choices, Olivia finally decided on tomato and watched as Vince recruited the help of Huang Chen to, more or less, be their stove. She smiled softly as she watched the unorthodox cooking--who needed matches when you had a fire lizard?--then turned her gaze upwards when a can opener was placed into her possession. “Oh?” She took the item within her hands, her mouth curling into a half-smile. “Are you sure I’m worthy? Can opening, after all, is such a sacred act.”
Amusement still on her face, Olivia opened the can before pouring its contents into the pot. From there Olivia sat back, arms crossed over her chest, and waited for the food to finish, though shifted out of her casual position whenever it appeared Vince needed help finishing up with the last of their meal. It wasn't a task to be done in silence, at least not in Olivia’s, and so while they worked she started up a conversation, Vince’s experience in the kitchen the subject. She listened as the brunette explained how he’d had ten years of actual, hands-on, experience, but a little more, if she counted his assistance in the kitchen when he was younger. The idea of a young Vince, handing packets of sugar and other spices, was one that made her chuckle quietly, though she quieted down so that she could continue listening to him speak more about his family; the one he described sounded tight-knit, close, and traditional as he’d said. It almost reminded her of her family reunions, her immediate family was a small one and the rest were too spread out to have a weekly dinner like Vince did, except her family reunions were confusing, and discombobulating, and if you didn’t pay enough attention you lost your mother in a sea of look-alikes…. “That sounds nice,” she murmured softly, bringing herself out of her own memories. “I bet you’ll have one hell of a Sunday dinner when you get back.”
The food finally done, the two set the table before sitting down. Olivia took a grilled cheese and bit into it, her stomach rumbling in content when it was finally filled. “I’ve stopped trying to figure this world out,” she admitted, after chewing and swallowing her bite. The food was good, and though their situation wasn’t ideal it was certainly better than nothing. She allowed a silence to settle over them, one of content and comfort rather than the tense and awkward air before them, and waited until only after she’d finished her sandwich and started on her group to break it. “Vince,” Olivia looked up at him, her tone hesitant. “...I’m.. sorry, about before. I shouldn’t have yelled at you like I did. You were looking out for me, again, and I just wasn’t thinking.” Olivia paused mid-way through her apology, her hand reaching up to begin fiddling with her bangs. “So, I’m sorry and… thank you. I don’t know what I would’ve done without you.” Well, no, that wasn’t true. She knew what she would have done, she would have gotten herself killed. But, there was no reason to dampen her apology with something as dark as that.

It was clear, at least to Vince, that a return to normalcy was just what the doctor ordered. Olivia needed this. The moment they walked into the cosy house, Olivia seemed to feel much more relaxed. It only encouraged Vince to keep it up. So he got to work the moment they entered the kitchen, grabbing ingredients and coming up with a meal on the fly to work wit what they had available, inviting Olivia to help when she could. Like handing her a can opener to pry loose the top of the soup, and cook it in the small pot with the assistance of Huang Chen's tail fire. He had jokingly suggested that she had the honor of doing so, and she of course took it in stride, asking if he was sure she was worthy of the sacred act. "But of course, it's only right that the food name heritage has the honor of opening cans of food." Vince chuckled, nudging her playfully as he scooted around her to put the other soup containers back where he'd found them. While the soup was heated and stirred by Olivia, Huang Chen helped Vince heat a pan for their grilled cheeses, and Olivia made small talk by inquiring about Vince's cooking experience.
Vince entertained Olivia with stories of cooking with his grandmother as a child for their weekly Sunday dinner as a family, which she seemed to enjoy, commenting on how nice it sounded. "Heh... Yeah, it's nice sometimes, rowdy others. Really it all depends on how much saké everyone's had to drink, and how much yéyé decides to push nǎinai's buttons. Honestly we're all amazed that she's stuck with him for all the grief he gives her. It's all in good fun of course but sometimes he's just plain mean. Nǎinai never seems to hold it against him though." Vince's face softened a bit in nostalgia as he reminisced over the memories. Olivia broke him from his revere, suggesting that he'd have one hell of a Sunday dinner upon his return home. "Most likely, but I don't want to go back until I've done what I set out to do." He insisted quietly. At long last, their food was ready, and so Vince and Olivia set the table, sitting down to eat. Vince couldn't help but comment that he was surprised they were even able to find anything to eat, though Olivia dismissed that she'd simply stopped trying to figure this wacko world out. "That's probably for the best." Vince agreed, cutting his grilled cheese diagonally into two triangles and dipping one in the tomato soup before taking a bite. It was good, but he still looked to Olivia for feedback. She certainly seemed to be feeling a lot better now, and enjoying her meal, so he didn't disturb her, feeling rather famished himself. A comfortable silence fell over the table as they ate, though eventually, after Olivia finished her sandwich, she spoke up again. "Hm?" He hummed, having just taken the last bite of his soup.
Olivia then began to apologize for her earlier outburst, and Vince shook his head. "Thank you, but there's no need to apologize. You weren't wrong after all.... Leaving those people behind was a hard choice, one I would have preferred not to make as well, but there was simply nothing we could do. I knew you understood that, but that it was a hard pill to swallow. Your reaction was only natural. Honestly I expected worse, but I'm glad I didn't have to wrestle you away." Vince gave her a wry smile. "How was it?" He gestured to the soup. "Satisfying I hope?" He chuckled. Considering that her plate was clean, the answer was a bit obvious, but he wanted her opinion all the same. Standing, he made to clear the dishes. They had no water so putting them in the sink was a little pointless, but it was a force of habit. "I know I said this would only be a pit stop, but considering the kind of day this has been, and the fact that we don't really know what time it is, perhaps it would do us some good to stay here longer and try to get some sleep, for a metaphorical night, or at least some sort of nap to regain our strength.... After all, with no indication of time we need to make sure we aren't pulling accidental all nighters. I could take the couch in the living room, that way you can have the bedroom." Vince suggested, finishing clearing the table and making his way to the couch. It looked comfy enough on the way into the house. He was a bit too long for it, considering his height and the couch's length, but he was sure he'd be able to find a position that would be comfortable enough to fall asleep in.
Pushing the pillows around a bit and fluffing the cushions, Vince kicking off his shoes and sprawled out on the furniture, adjusting himself a few times as well as the pillows once again, eventually settling down in a spot that felt decent. He wasn't tired enough to sleep just yet, but he could lay there in an attempt to settle down, meditate, close his eyes, and effectively trick himself into thinking he was tired just so that he could force himself to sleep, or at the very least nap for an hour or two.

Rose felt horrified. She had actually caught that monster. Sure, it was no longer rampaging about, hurting her friends. But now… it was in a pokeball. And was now registered as hers, presumably. There was no way she was going to even touch that pokeball.
“Rose, what in Arceus’ name were you thinking?!? You could have gotten seriously hurt!” Fynx snapped in worry at her trainer. Since the giratina was captured, the physics were a lot less out of whack in this area. Which gave the Delphox some extra focus to scold her trainer. Of course, she was glad nothing bad had happened, and was more than happy to be out of that situation. However, there was now the problem with how they were going to get out, and … well, the brightly colored giratina that was now freshly caught. It was very apparent that Rose had no intention of retrieving the ball.
Rose teared up a bit as her starter snapped at her, her friends reiterating that she had caught the giratina. She… really did not want to think on that anymore. “I-I-I’m sorry… I didn’t… I-it was hurting everyone…” the red head stammered, sniffling a bit. She was still shaking from the entire experience. The girl just wanted to be home.
Fynx easily took pity on her trainer. She pulled her trainer up against her fluffy chest as Atona gave Isis an explanation. “Still though. What had even started this in the first place…?” Fynx wondered out loud. Did her trainer cause the uproar? It had seemed strangely focused on Rose when she had arrived, despite having had Isis in its grips, too. The delphox would have liked to hear the whole story, but looking down at her trainer, she knew she would not be hearing it from the red head. At least for now.
“I would not dare have that beast out again so soon. It may have control over this realm, but I would rather not see if its mood has improved.” Fynx stated. Shortly after, she could not help but smirk at Atona picking on Isis. Instead of joining in on that, she simply enjoyed listening in for the moment, still holding an upset Rose in her furry arms.
Looking away from the blond and the old dog, she noticed Zero seemed alright, though he had to return Nova. As a fellow psychic, she had a feeling that this world must have taken a toll on the Gardevoir, as well. Her blue eyes wandered across the platform where they were standing. There was a lot of damage. Large cracks in the floor, scorched areas where some high energy aura spheres had hit, some singed rocks above from missed solar beams, and deep scratches and scuffs all around. It was quite an aftermath. Though, the cracks were very worrying.
Near the edges of the platform, chunks of the ground were already separating and floating off on their own. Once in a while, it even sounded like the ground beneath them was groaning a bit, as if the burden of the fight was almost too much for it to bear. The silver fox shifted uneasily upon noticing this. “We should at the very least, try to find a way to a different platform. This one… does not seem that stable anymore.” Fynx commented.
Rose could not help but wonder if maybe she could just forget this happened. Leave the giratina here in that ball. It would be no loss to her. Sure, she would be down one ball, but at least she would not have to carry that hell spawn around with her, worrying whether or not it will pop out and try to eat her or something.
Fynx seemed to have honed in on what her trainer was thinking, looking over at the ball with a frown. No one seemed to want to go near it. Well, except Ashen, who had seemed perhaps a bit disappointed that it had disappeared so suddenly on him. The pale charizard seemed like he was inching closer to the ball as if to touch it in curiosity. Fynx did not want to risk any accidents, so she grabbed the ball with her psychic, pulling it closer.
“N-no! J-just leave it!” Rose objected as the ball was pulled closer, pushing away from her starter a bit. Fynx frowned, looking down at her trainer. “No. Rose, you must take responsibility for your actions.” She stated sternly. Sure, she knew her trainer did not mean to capture the Giratina, but she was not going to just abandon it. So many things wrong with that! Even if the Giratina was terrible, no pokemon deserved to be shoved in a pokeball and abandoned in a place where it would be stuck like that forever. “It is coming with you whether you like it or not.” The delphox added, Rose giving her a wobbly lip.
The red head could tell by the tone Fynx took that there was no arguing this matter. However, she was not going to carry that thing herself, so she left that to Fynx. Rose wanted to speak up, but could not really find any words to say, even to her friends. Which left all the conversation to her starter to have.
Rose moved away to check on her Flurry, Rye. He seemed to be out cold, and as she tried to touch him, she flinched back at the chilling feeling. Rye was still a ghost, after all, and part ice type. “Is he going to be okay…?” Rose asked Raja, since she was still near. Once the whispard confirmed that the flurry would be fine, she returned him to his ball.
Fynx’s ears perked up suddenly as a resounding crack echoed beneath them. Her fur stood on end. Crap, they did not move fast enough. She felt cracks beneath her paws, and could see them spreading quickly. The Delphox shot a worried look to Atona, then pulled Rose and Dumuzi close with her psychic powers just as the ground crumbled beneath them, sending the group falling below. Luckily, whether they noticed or not, a portal happened to catch them, pulling them back into the real world.

Even if it wasn't her house, Olivia still found herself at home, partially due to the rather complacent air that surrounded those four walls; it literally blocked out the outside world, and it was in fact the first normal thing they’d come across. The biggest part, however, was Vince, who was going out of his way to make things comfortable for the both of them, and had taken charge even before they’d entered the house, and was now going as far as to make them lunch. Of course, she wouldn’t just stand around herself and when delegated the task of making both the salad and the ‘honor’ of opening the can of soup Olivia couldn’t help but to laugh before she teasingly asked if she was worthy to have such a high privilege bestowed upon her, after all they didn’t allow just anybody to open cans of cream of tomato. Vince assured her that it was, and gave her nickname, or as he knew it her real name, as his reasoning behind it. “Oh? Well, now that’s a surprise, even to me. Who knew a food-based name could have such lucrative perks.” The pinkette smiled up at Vince when she was nudged and, had she not been busy stirring the soup, would’ve returned the action. So, unable to physically reach him, she turned to a verbal tactic.
It was always interesting to hear someone else talk about their life, and Olivia listened adamantly as Vince talked about the Sunday dinners he held back in Blackthorn with his family; she was almost jealous. The pinkette laughed softly when he went on to describe the relationship between two members of his family, married from what she could tell, though their titles were lost on her, as they were spoken in Chinese. “They sound like a cute couple,” she mused, then looked up from her pot to glance at Vince. “You’ve always got to get a rile out of your partner at least once a week, keeps the blood pumping.” The two settled into memories of their own, Olivia the first to break from hers and then, in turn, pull Vince from his when she commented on how he would certainly be able to look forward to the next time he convened with his family. She raised an eyebrow, but ultimately nodded her head in understanding, when he mentioned that, before he did that, he’d have to complete what he’d set out to do. “And what might that be, if you don’t mind me asking?” After a bit more preparation their make-shift dinner was complete, and the two trainers, plus one little dragon, sat down to eat. The food was surprisingly good, something Olivia’s hearty eating would attest too; if she knew the occupants of this house, she would’ve thanked them for picking up this food and leaving it behind for them to cook. For several minutes the only sounds that filled the kitchen were utensils clinking against platters and chewing, but eventually Olivia spoke up and offered her long overdue apology.
Olivia gave an uneasy smile when Vince dismissed her apology, assuring her that it wasn’t needed since he could understand where her anger had come from. She gave a soft nod of the head, unable to think of anything of true significance to add besides an ultimate agreement, though she snorted when he admitted that he was glad he didn’t have to resort to extreme measures, such as wrestling her. “Heh. You’re giving yourself too much credit, if you think you could’ve pulled that off,” she joked, though in the back of her mind she began to imagine just what would have unfolded had he been forced to something as drastic as that. Olivia only nodded, finishing up the last bit of her soup, when asked about her food. “Oh yeah, it was definitely satisfying,” she reported and stood to her feet with Vince to put her plate in the sink, it was always good to practice good manners. “I’ll have to have you cook for me when we get back, I imagine your skills only improve with the more ingredients, and working appliances, at your disposal.” The officer inclined her head towards her companion when he suggested they stay inside the home for a night-- or whatever qualified as such, to refuel their energy and avoid staying up all night. She nodded, more than happy to settle down at least for an hour or two, though she stopped when Vince went on to give her the bed and he sacrificed himself to the couch.
Olivia watched as Vince moved back into the living room, where the couch awaited him, and took two steps forward to peer at the furniture and then observed as Vince tried to make himself on the couch, a bit of a difficult task given its length was shorter than his. She shook her head slowly and moved into the living room, stopping at the arm of the couch. “I think it’d be better if we switched sleeping spots, seeing as how you’re only halfway on,” she stepped forward and gently pushed at the male’s legs, her indication for him to move and take the bed. “Go on, I’m sure you’ll be much more comfortable on the bed than the couch. At least you’ll actually fit there.” She frowned when he resisted both her pushing and her offer, pointing out that he was already comfortable in his spot, and then once again insisted that she take the bed. He didn’t care. “Well I care,” she proclaimed before she tried once more to lift his feet off the couch, but with no such luck, he wouldn’t budge. But she didn’t give up. “You’ll get a cramp, sleeping like this, or at the very least you’ll be sore, and we’ll have to immediately start moving once we wake up-- Arceus, Vince! Move your feet!” she exclaimed, interrupting her own rationalization, but even that didn’t work, she was still met with defiance, and another round of Vince’s reasoning, this one involving how he didn’t get cramps. She didn’t respond to that, and instead the pinkette gave a heavy sigh before she suddenly began to fall forward, belly-flopping onto the couch and, subsequently, Vince. “Still think you won’t get a cramp?” she inquired, going out of her way to make herself comfortable, which meant resting her head on Vince’s arm and slinging her legs over his, her feet just barely hanging over the couch’s arm.
It wasn’t as effective as she might’ve intended, and in her new position Olivia could only frown when she was told her goal of trying to give him a cramp had failed, and then promptly told to get up. “I can’t,” she responded and then closed her eyes. “I’m already here and I’ve gotten comfortable.” Olivia only chuckled when Vince cursed and then threatened to physically put her into the bed, almost like a child. “Who’s to say I just won’t pull you in with me?” she asked, though quickly stifled a yawn to continue listing off the con’s of carrying her into the bed. “Or I just don’t let go-- I can be clingier than a Joltik when I want.” A grin was slow to form upon her features when Vince responded with a question-- or at least the beginning of one, only to cut himself off and insist that she stop. “I bet I’m faster than you,” she mumbled, answering the question she figured he’d ask. “If you’re in bed I’ll be able to run back to the couch before you.” Olivia made a sound when she was picked up, her eyes flying open in disbelief. “Wha--? Hey! Vince, put me down!” She extended a hand out in loss as they left the couch and began to make for the bedroom, but, true to her word, she eventually began to ‘embrace’ Vince, her legs wrapping round his waist while her arms encircled his shoulders. “I was serious about the clinging,” she explained, as if that wasn’t obvious enough. “Joltik don’t have anything on me.”
Olivia looked up at Vince when he obliged her conditions-- half of them at least, he’d only put her down once she was in the bedroom, and was quick to scramble for better leverage when the brunette began to shift himself to try and loosen her grip on him. It was an interesting game, if one could call it that, and by the time they made it into the bedroom the pinkette was just barely holding onto Vince-- how old was she again? 5? No, wait, 25. Even when Vince managed to get her into the bed her the small hold she had on him didn’t lighten up, and she only shook her head at him when he asked to be freed. “You’re already in bed, why don’t you just lay in here? As you might have noticed, you already have more room here than you had the couch,” she teased, but then grew a bit more serious-- as serious as one could be in this kind of situation. “Vince, I’m not going to let up-- and I doubt you will either. So, let’s just compromise, again. We can either both sleep on the bed, or the couch.” She waited expectantly for his reply, all the while acutely aware that she was still, more or less, clinging to him.
“You can’t?” she repeated his answer with a quirk of the eyebrow, though was patient enough to hear his explanation before she opened her mouth to speak again. Not sleeping in the same bed, she understood, as two people who had, really, only just met that was a bit awkward, even for her, but she still didn’t understand what he had against her sleeping on the couch, if he could make himself comfortable on it she certainly could! “I don’t think either of us is going to get any sleep like this…” she muttered. Olivia stifled yet another yawn as Vince shifted them both to become more comfortable, though she was taken aback when he gave in, settling for the suggested compromise of sharing the bed. “Really?” she stared up at Vince, eyes narrowing as if trying to see if he was lying. “Well, alright.” Olivia detached herself from Vince completely before she scooted across the bed, leaving a good portion of space between the two of them. “Try and get some sleep, alright. I’ll keep my hands to myself so you don’t have to worry.”
Olivia simply nodded afterwards before she finally allowed herself to close her eyes, asleep within a few minutes. She breathed easily and was not once awoken from her slumber, not even when Vince fell asleep, too tired to commit to his plan of simply leaving once she was sound asleep, and ultimately pulled her close with a hug, and certainly not when a portal opened beneath the two, transporting both them and Huang Chen, who’d been the original smart one and chosen the bed to sleep in only to become frustrated when the two humans had taken their fight to her spot and ultimately slipped down onto the floor, back to Santalune, without one of them being none the wiser.
