Laviticus blinked curiously up at the boy as he pulled out a notepad. He didn't want to interrupt the goblin, as he seemed rather interested in ... well, whatever it was he was doing.
Chewing on the inside of his lower lip, the boy kept his gaze lowered so that he wouldn't be staring at him if Galan looked back suddenly. He didn't wish to risk offending him if he were caught staring for too long, but he had to admit that he was rather curious as to what the boy was doing. Were they drawing, were they writing something down? What had caused the sudden intense focus in the Goblin? Was it something Laviticus said, or something he had done? Maybe the Goblin just needed to write down his grocery list before he forgot.
The boy's tendrils shifted to a more noticeable pink as he grew more flushed and embarrassed by his own fidgeting, forcing himself to cross one leg over the other, sitting straight and tall as the hybrid waited for Galan to say something. He didn't wish to distract the boy. This seemed important, though time on the clock was running out ...

Galan managed a brief sketch, a captured moment of movement and feeling and glanced up with a smile. The boy was watching him, and trying, evidently, not to look like he was watching. "How rude of me!" he exclaimed with a breathy little laugh and leaned forward, laying the book on the table so the other could see.
"It's you," he added helpfully, just in case his likeness wasn't true enough for the other to tell. He looked down at the drawing and caught the melancholy in the eyes, the twist to the pretty mouth and frowned slightly, as if only just now realizing the emotions he'd reflected.
"Are..." He swallowed. Are you alright seemed impertinent, and besides, he knew nothing about this boy. It could be nothing, a wistful sort of spirit. Or, it could be something deep and painful that the Junior was trying to hide. He seemed too worn thin for such a young Nightmare. Galan's heart twisted inside him. Impertinence be damned, he couldn't say nothing! "If you ever need to talk..." Galan trailed off, left the invitation hanging. He didn't want to embarrass his 'date', but he always couldn't bear the thought of this brief glimpse and then silence... What if something happened? Galan couldn't live with himself if he didn't at least try to reach out, to offer a helping hand. "I've got a big empty space, and a well-stocked supply of tea and blankets, if you ever want...a safe place." He took a stab in the dark. He didn't want to presume, but anyone as weary as this boy could use some manner of safety. He offered a gentle smile, expression open and inviting, just in case...
After looking around for Rose for a while, Caramel sighed and started looking for someone else to talk to. He wasn't having much luck so far with this speed dating thing..

Eve couldn’t help but blush a bit from Blythe’s words on the plushie. It wasn’t like she had given him a feather, it was just a free plush from an event that literally had them by the armload. “Y-You’re welcome. I just thought it was cute that it matched your wings.” Well there it was in her mind she had just managed to add something to the list of corny/stupid things to say. Still the idea that someone would cherish a gift from her was a nice one. Blythe was very sweet in that regard. In a way it was almost like they were a textbook date. The silly thought made her relax a bit and Blythe sharing their history made her lean forward in interest. The history of protection and sacrifice when it came to justice? That was definitely a lofty but worthy goal. “That is a lot to learn given that every culture has its own laws and histories for them what’s more with daydreams coming as well there is a whole new flux to an already chaotic system. You could be a history major or law clerk and spend your whole life learning new aspects of it.” While to most that sounded like a negative or overwhelming statement Eve was clearly excited by the idea and had a smile on her face saying all of that. Her wings flexed while she spoke looking at Blythe noticing they were reading their hand first before speaking. She nibbled her bottom lip to keep from giggling. So they couldn’t dance and had been nervous enough about coming here to actually write a few notes down? She couldn’t help but like that she wasn’t the only one who was new at this. Still Blythe was surprisingly easy to talk to, very energetic but in a good way so this wasn’t bad at all. “No. No siblings just a lot of art supplies, books and pets. I even have a purple vespercat with me here. It’s wandering somewhere around here.“ She took a glance and pointed to a purple vespercat wearing a heart shaped necklace under the table with the plushies. It was currently laying on it's side bating up at the edge of the plastic table cloth that was dangling down but not quite reaching it. “That one. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to have a larger family given what I’ve seen around the academy. Your sibling has a very nice name. What are they like?”
Blythe looked curiously at the plush and then to their own wings, extending them a bit. "Oh yes! I can see that!" they exclaimed and then looked to Eve's wings. "I wish I had a purple plushie to give to you that matches your wings." they paused for just a moment, "I like them. Your wings. They are my favorite color." Blythe listened to Eve's suggestions about life paths and Blythe's face lit up. "Yes, all of those sound like very interesting things to do! You have very good ideas, Eve." they nodded as they spoke, she seemed very smart and wise to Blythe as they had never considered those choices. Then again, they didn't know those were choices to begin with, so this was news to them. Blythe had then noticed the vespercat after it was pointed out and Blythe smiled. The vespercat was being quite cute as Blythe held a hand to their mouth to cover their chuckle. "Valentein says that I'd probably love making a big family of my own, which does sound like a pretty good idea. Val is hardly wrong, so I trust their statements." Blythe nodded again. "Oh, Valentein? They are very smart and wise for their age. Val is kinda a big bookworm which is a good thing! Means they are hard-working! They already know what university they want to attend and what career they want. Val is so determined to get what they want out of life. It is actually something I admire most about my younger sibling. They can be fairly quiet and reserved, but some say that is part of their charm!" Blythe laughed with enthusiasm. They really did have a lot to say about Valentein, mostly since they spent a majority of their time together growing up. It was at that moment that Blythe realized that Eve had given them something, but Blythe had not taken the time to get anything for her. As a coordinator passed by, Blythe grabbed another lollipop, then stared at it for a moment, then stared at the one they had grabbed earlier. Then back to the one they just got, then finally shifted their eyes to Eve. Blythe then held out both of the lollipops to her in one hand. "Here! Take these! I'm not doing this out of needed reciprocation. I really just want you to have them." they clarified why they were giving them to her though it wasn't needed to explain the situation. Blythe just wanted Eve to know that it wasn't really to make things even as was the Baphomet way, but merely out of genuine kindness that Blythe wanted her to have them. Blythe felt their face warming up a bit, but couldn't understand why.
Riamheid thought they were an interesting flavor, but they decided not to argue, only smile. Leviathan... studying the sciences, then. Hmmm...
The hybrid was asking about their major, and Riamheid contemplated their reluctance to give them a straight answer. "That... I am still figuring out." they said, deciding to dodge the question. In truth, they had narrowed it down considerably to Law, anthropology, sociology, and literature - things that Ram could use to gather more information. "But, likely, Grendel or Asterion will be my destination..." There. A tidbit.
"Something I'm curious about, as a senior approaching university..." they said smoothly, watching them carefully, "Something perhaps you can help me with. What does one do after all the schooling is done? What is next for you?"

Aren followed along with her listening to her describe herself. He had to admit that it didn't seem to make much sense to him at all but telling her that wouldn't help. He looked at he plushie she held. "I'm not really sure either." Thinking quickly for a question to ask he thought of one that might have been a little too deep for thier conversation but he thought to ask it anyway. "What are your favorite and least favorite things about being the race you are, and if you had to pick another race to be what would it be and why?" Perhaps it was a bit heavy to ask so early in a convorsation.

Seray eyed the girl in front of him, and held up one hand "I'm going to try my hand at a game, I'll be right back." He started to walk toward a table with a bunch of games when he noticed a familiar fey sitting at a table by themself. He waited a second before approaching her to see if her partner was anywhere to be around. "Got stood up huh?" he said in a very not surprised this happened tone. "And I thought my partner was a bore." he kinda laughed a bit at his own joke. He wasn't sure weather or not to continue onto his way or stop and chat with Kimi for a bit.

I needed to do something with him. AGAIN HE IS A d**k don't hate me.
Resting her elbows on the table edge she leaned on one hand with a smile. “I actually have a vespercat plushie at the dorm that has purple wings. It’s really cute.” She was very flattered that he liked her wings. Of all the things about herself physically, her feathers were something she felt a bit of pride in. Her cheeks felt on fire and was glad that her hair helped hide at least a part of it. “T-thank you very much.” She was glad for the change to work ideas because she was not used to receiving compliments like that. It made her heart jump up like a jackalope and fly around worse than her little fluffbug. “Ah yes they do sound interesting and since you like that field I suppose they would fit. Of course you could be a policeman or lawyer as well. It was just the way you said it made me think of the more historical and record keeping aspect first.” Then again when didn’t she think of the historical part first? It was one of her favorite places to start on a subject. She listened to Blythe talk about Valentein surprised. It seemed that when it came to family Blythe was very open and willing to talk. She had to admit she was just a tad envious. Perhaps someday she would have a family large enough to talk about that way. As it was her parents and grandmother were back home and that was all the family she had in the world. To have such an astounding sibling was really something else. Not only that but they liked books. That was enough to make Eve like them already. “That sounds like an amazing younger sibling to have. I bet they are proud of you as well since you have your goals in mind as well. Going into law no matter which part of it takes a lot of dedication, focus and work. I think you would do very well at it." After all Blythe seemed oriented to details. She had never even noticed that her plush had matched the one given to him until he said something. Not only that but Blythe seemed to have a lot of bold charisma which she thought would be a good thing for the field. While she was thinking Blythe held out two lollipops offering them to her. She was surprised to say the least. His statement only added to her confusion was this what he had felt like before when she gave him the plush? It was sudden and felt showy in a way that she was certain her grandmother would frown on if his words were from his heart. “Th.” No she couldn’t just reject them after all it was clear he was raised with a different set of values and to just say it wasn’t needed would be rude. Instead she reached out and took one lollipop. “Thank you. But if I ate too many I might get a stomach ache considering the sweets I had earlier. So let’s share these so we each have one. After all treats taste much better shared with good company.” She was fairly sure that was how the saying went, and Blythe was very good company. "umm Blythe I wanna say thank you. I was really nervous about ... something like this and talking to you is relaxing. I've very glad we were paired. "
What she liked and disliked most about her race? Wow that was a big one to ask ", Getting the big questions out of the way? Nice," now the only question was, what would her answers be? ", Well, I dislike how I have to always have to keep my skin wet here. Back home it was no problem. Here it is a real issue. I'm constantly using salves to do so, but I haven't found one I truly like yet. As for something I like, I do have quite fond memories of swimming. I've always enjoyed the feeling of water against me as I move my way through. How about you? What about your dislikes and likes?"
Moving to the next game as they spoke, Coralie managed to snag a plushie for herself again, placing it in her bag that was full of stuff from all around the festival. Maybe she should start gifting some of these to Aren? He did seem like a rather nice fellow.
"That was what I had read about originally, but the other ideas you gave me are good ones too! I do like history, so those are things I will have to consider! Options are always good to have." It seemed that Eve also liked the history side of things, something they had in common. "Indeed! You will have to meet Valentein some time. They are very amazing! I also hope they are proud of me. They always inspired me to sort things out so I don't just run into things blindly. I never had before, but why start, right?" Blythe noticed a bit of hesitation in Eve's response about the lollipops. They couldn't understand why they were dubious about their offering. Had they said something wrong? Blythe blinked in revelation. Oh right, she was just a fallen, wasn't she? This kind of display was far too much for their culture. Before Blythe could remedy the situation, Eve had chosen one of the candies and offered that they eat them together. Good thinking. "That sounds like a fantastic idea!" Blythe smiled wide and chuckled lightly. They weren't always great at teetering the line between Baphomet and Fallen traditions, and slipped up every now and again. Blythe was relieved that Eve didn't seem offended by the gesture. "Hmm?" Blythe stared intently with rising curiosity at Eve as she thanked them. "You're welcome! And thank you as well! I do have to admit I was a bit nervous about coming here as well. These concepts of 'dating' are fairly new to me, but I like the idea. Especially if it involves you, Eve. I enjoy talking with you a lot. I agree that it was fortunate to be paired with you. This is nothing like Valentein had described it would be, which is a very good thing." Blythe laughed, their face was getting warmer, more flushed as they rubbed the back of their own neck out of nervousness. Blythe darted their eyes to the ground for a moment then back into Eve's eyes. "I know that we have only just met, but I am very happy to have met you. I feel very comfortable around you, which is a peculiar circumstance for only having met just a few minutes ago. It's very nice." Blythe blinked a bit and blushed, something they couldn't exactly hide in half their uncovered face. "Oh, I hope that did not come off as too forward! I am just genuinely having a good time with you. I hope that we may continue even after this event is over." they explained, a bit frantically, back-tracking only enough to make sure Eve didn't feel pressured by their words. The last thing Blythe wanted, was to screw this up after realizing just how much they enjoyed Eve's company.
Laviticus leaned over to look down at the picture. That was ... him? He looked a little sad. Did he really come off the way? That put things in to perspective.
As the boy lifted his head, a small smile formed on his lips, a hint of apology to it. "It's beautiful." Lavi said with admiration, a soft glow warming his cheeks. Despite how terrible he felt for being a little rain cloud, he was touched that Galan had drawn him, even if he did capture a moment that seemed a little ... tender.
"You're a good artist. You did this so quickly ... may I?" Laviticus gestured to the paper with a pointed bone claw before gently picking it up, mindful of the edges of the paper as he examined it a little more closely. The subtle curl of his hair, the pose, the way his tendrils shifted ... yes. The likeness was remarkable.
"Thank you," he said softly, glancing up to meet the goblin's apple green gaze. Laviticus' smile faded a little as he noticed the look on Galan's face. He looked concerned. Worried. A mix of negative things, and Laviticus felt himself recoil.
He waited, though. He wanted to hear what the boy had to say, and as Galan finally spoke, all he could say was: "Ah."
Taking in a deep sigh, the geist-litch hybrid leaned against the chair, still holding the image between his hands. "I ... really appreciate that, actually. I could use someone to talk to ... " Laviticus didn't want to burden Charmstar. But he needed someone. Maybe coming to this event wasn't such a bad idea after all. It seemed like ... perhaps ... Laviticus might just actually make a friend.
As Laviticus looked over the drawing with a great deal of consideration, his expressions softened and Galan beamed a happy smile to see that light rekindled, even if only partially. "Thank you very much!" he piped in a chipper tone.
As the Litch-Geist considered the possibility of accepting the Goblin's rather forward offer, Galan gently took the book back from Laviticus' still daintily-clasping hands and pulled a scalpel from his bare-basics art kit. With a well-practised and deft motion, Galan sliced the page from the book and scribbled his number on the bottom corner, along with his dorm number and name. That way, should Laviticus need somewhere to go, he had all the information handy.
Galan slid the piece of paper across the table again with a warm smile. "Please, keep it. I'd be happy to draw you again sometime, if you're interested. To do your beauty justice, I'd need to work in watercolour." If it weren't for his ardent, matter-of-fact tone, someone else saying such words would clearly have been flirting. Either Galan had cast away all pretences or he was unaware of the way such sentiments might be taken, especially in such a setting.

"Well..." Raleka toyed with the ears of her kitty plush, rubbing their fleecy fabric as a source of comfort. "I, personally, want to open up my own flower shop and plant nursery. Once you graduate University, or even Academy, really, you have the freedom to do whatever you'd like." She felt that perhaps she had been talking for too long, and stopped. She thought for a moment, staring and an undefined space some distance away.
"I guess some people do more education. Get more degrees. But the goal, I think, is to get a job in what you love doing." Raleka gave a small smile and shrugged a little. She noticed some wrapped candies in the center of the table, garnishing the appearance amongst the cinnamon balls, and grabbed one to unwrap it. This one was much lighter in color, and - oh - it was definitely sweeter! The hybrid sucked on the hard candy with delight. Raleka wondered if it was almost time to switch. After all, this was speed dating. But she looked around, and it seemed as if the event was still barely starting. Perhaps not.

Aren listened to her answer and nodded, there was logic to her answers and that was good, it seemed she though things through. "Me, well I dislike the whole stuck up nature of my Race, they seem to be this exclusive club I never really liked being a part of. I do however like the fact that I can fly, like whenever something stresses me out I can just take off... it's a stress reliever." He thought maybe it wasn't the best answer after all he wasn't the only race that could fly, it was just the first thing that popped into his head. "Your turn my lady." he said softly.
