It wasn't long before Cheria could see Castelia in the distance, and the blonde gave a relieved sigh. Just in time, too. It looked like the sun would becoming to a complete rise soon. Which meant, of course, the desert would become a lot hotter. "Almost there. Phew."

Arriving in the desert, Skye gave a sigh. Well, at least it was dark, so the desert wasn't so hot. But, she still wanted to hurry. Deserts were so...exposed. It freaked her out. Also, mirages were a thing she wasn't looking forward to experiencing.

It’d been a while since Faraday had been through the Desert Resort. It there was probably a good reason; the place was a barren waste land devoid of water and life. Okay, maybe that was a little over the top. But it was a massive desolate desert, with far more sun than he really cared to enjoy.
But there was an upside though, which was that all this open space made it easier to keep an eye out for the egg and its thief. There was only so many places to hide and he could see Sissil already zipping around checking behind boulders and ridges in search of the criminal. While the ghost kitten handled the upper portions, Faraday went about checking the ground.
Even in this stretch of desert, the perpetrator couldn’t have gotten too far…

"MAGI!" Sissil’s shout rang over the desert sands, snapping Faraday to attention. He looked every which way until he spotted the top of the of the ghost kitten’s ‘hat’ disappearing behind a gathering of rocks. Without a moment’s hesitation, he dashed off in that direction, doing his best to maintain his footing. Sand wasn’t exactly the best foundation, though his shoes were good enough that he had some grip. The real issue was the sand storm, which was beginning to sting his eyes.
It wasn’t long before he rounded the corner to see what was going on. There was a little enclave in the side of the hill, offering temporary shelter from the sand storm outside. In the far back area, Sissil had something cornered against the walls. Faraday had to squint against the dimness but immediately he recognized the egg held just above the culprits head.
"Good job, Sissil! You caught them!" Faraday remarked, quickly trotting up to the duo. The Magikit was staring the creature thief with an intense gaze. The detective paused just behind the ghost kitten, a confused frown appearing on his face at the sight of the perpetrator. Well… this was… not what he was expecting…

The culprit, the elusive thief that had made off with his egg and run a good distance away, was not a person or even a menacing looking pokemon. No it was… a little Togepi. It didn’t look like an ordinary Togepi either; this one was a soft powder blue in color with a start white face. It was absolutely not the coloration for the egg pokemon that Faraday recognized.
Sissil hovered before the creature, still eyeing it suspiciously. The Togepi just stared back, the slightest of innocent smiles on its face as it continued to hold its stolen prize, the black egg from before, above its head. If it was looking for a getaway then it didn’t exist, what with Sissil covering its front and Faraday close behind blocking the cave entrance. It didn’t seem all to bothered at being caught in such a situation though. It was suspicious really.
Faraday frowned and continued forward, stopping to stand just dead center in the cave. Folding his arms over his chest he watched the pokemon closely. "So you stole my egg, hm? That’ll get you put away you know." The Togepi just chirped enthusiastically. It seemed that this was all just a game to the pokemon. Interesting. Faraday didn’t hesitate to march over and scoop both the egg and pokemon up. The creature didn’t seem harmful. So why had it stolen his egg. "Well, at least you didn’t cause it any more harm. Where’d you come from though…," The Togepi just wiggled in his arm, chirping before producing a piece of paper. Well what the hell was this...
Faraday snatched it up and read it. This is your Moriarty. Take care of him."Moriarty?" faraday murmured. That was… ominous? That sounded kind of conveniently ominous. He looked at the Togepi a moment, the thing wiggling again before a pokeball appeared between his hands as well. Huh well…
Sissil eyed the situation curiously. This was certainly … not something he expected. Was Faraday going to do away with the creature? No he seemed… to be thinking. Tucking the now returned egg away, he grabbed the pokeball and lightly tapped the Togepi, returning it to the inside. He eyed the ball a moment before tucking it away on his belt, turning around and gesturing for Sissil to follow. "Good job, Sissil. Let’s get out of here." Well that was that case closed.

As the started the trek back towards Castelia City through the desert, Faraday set about getting things in order by changing some things around.
"Here Dresden, I got a little present for you." The detective remarked, pulling out a new pokeball. The Buneary looked up curiously as they walked, ears twitching at the sight. Faraday chucked it down to him, which he caught with his paws. He disappeared in a flash of light, which caused Faraday to stop and release him again, digging out his old pokeball to discard. While he found it and chucked it he frowned, realizing his mistake. "Ah s**t…," He grumbled. Dresden blinked and stared a moment at Faraday, looking a bit confused.
Faraday pulled a different pokeball out, rubbing the back of his neck gingerly. "Wrong pokeball." He conceded, holding up a goldish looking pokeball. Dresden gave a little sigh, staring at his trainer a moment. Really? The balls didn’t even look alike! One was green and the other was a fancy gold color. Dresden shook his head. Without much hesitation he took the new ball and disappeared into it, reappearing once more this time out of his own action. He eyed Faraday a moment, making sure the man didn’t suddenly suggest he’d once more messed up. Faraday just grinned though, giving the Buneary a pat on the head.
"There we go. That’ll help you get stronger faster apparently. Special little treat." He remarked. Retrieving the friend ball he looked it over a moment before discarding it as well. There was no reusing it… ah well, it’d been a freebie anyways so there was no real loss to him.

Faraday went about digging through his bag again, taking into consideration what other items he had. There was a heart scale and a muscle band in there that he figured he should give to Dresden as well; he was really looking to buff up that rabbit of his. He intended to do the same for his other team members too, but that would come with time. For now, it was best to focus one pokemon at a time.
"Here Dresden, these are for you too." He replied, handing the scale and muscle band down to the pokemon. The rabbit stared at the scale a moment before crushing it in his grip, the sparkling absorbing into him as he learned a new move. The muscle band though; that was a little odder. It looked like it was supposed to tie around him in some fashion, but it was considerably bigger than him to some degree. After a bit of fiddling, he tied it around his neck like a handkerchief, tugging at the article to make it look proper. He looked a little cooler with it there he thought. Sissil frowned, eyeing Dresden as he received a bunch of goodies. This hardly seemed fair.
"Don’t worry Sissy. Here, you can have these." Faraday remarked, offering over a couple of rare candies for the Magikit. The pokemon’s eyes immediately went wide at the sight of sweets, snatching them up and slamming them into his mouth greedily. Ahhh yeah, that was what he was talking about.

With those few items passed out, Faraday pulled out his pokedex and started strategizing. Murphy and Chromie stuck close to his heels as he walked, Sissil hovering close to the Zorua. Only Dresden seemed to wander any sort of distance away from the group, spotting a pair of eyes peaking up from the desert sands. They were close to the exit now and he was feeling bit pumped. He was still a bit agitated from that fluke from earlier and was looking to test his new strength.
The Sandile made the foolish mistake of fully displaying itself, firing the rabbit a challenging glare. Dresden flexed his paw into a fist, gaze narrowing on the sand gator. It –like so many things to come- would regret its decision to mess with him.

"Mmm..." Huey reached a hand up to cover his face as the wind whipped up particles of sand; so this was the desert. "Now isn't this something!" Angelia chirped, one arm extending out to bring Huey into her side. "Don't worry, Hueykins, I'll keep you safe." The blonde boy peered up at his half-sister, a frown and smile both fighting to appear on his face. On the one hand, he wanted to show that he was capable of, at the very least, crossing a desert by himself, but on the other.... "Thank you, Angelia."
A few minutes later and Huey was peering through tinted-goggles, tied extra tight so that it'd be able to stay on his face properly. It was getting late, which meant that it was becoming cooler, so he didn't need to take off any of his extra layers; in fact he needed to add another, and his sister's jacket hung off his body. It was much too large for him, but at the very least it kept him warm and, as a bonus, Prim and Klefki could use it as cover. Huey looked up at Angelia who, compared to him, was hardly even dressed: she wore nothing but a tank top and shorts; he felt bad for taking her jacket.
Huey began to walk quicker in an attempt to lower their exposure to the desert, only to be stopped by the appearance of, not one, two pokemon that seemed to appear from out of nowhere. The blonde stumbled back in surprise, Rags immediately scuttling forward to take his place. Another battle awaited him!

After recovering from his shock Huey stood back to watch Rags battle out the two pokemon, a frown appearing when he noticed just how much damage he ended up taking in the end. A major part of this was because he'd managed to damage himself, crashing into the ground when trying to perform a risky attack. Still, much to his credit, he managed to recover from his mishap and beat off one pokemon before he turned away and blasted away the other, another Scraggy.
"You did great, Rags!" Huey gushed, swooping in to heal his pokemon with a few potions. Rags puffed out his chest and tilted his head up, clearly proud of his accomplishment; though it was to be expected, he was the great Rags after all! The healing couldn't have come at a better time, it would seem, as not soon after Huey had finished up his healing duties another duo came into sight and Rags moved forward to intercept them.

Huey couldn't help but frown when he saw Rags receive a burn, though just like before he managed to tough it out and fight off both pokemon with the widest and proudest grins afterwards. With a lum berry and a few more potions the blonde set to work on revitalizing him. The pokemon here were rather active for this time of night, weren't they? The species he saw didn't appear to be nocturnal, but it wasn't as if he was an expert on every pokemon here.
Yet again they were only able to get so far before they encountered more pokemon, a Darumaka and Darmanitan; he liked to imagine that they were related. Or... maybe not, considering how quickly Rags defeated them both, that wasn't much of a nice thought to have. Huey managed to muster up a smile, despite this, and afterwards took Rags hand once more, leading him out of the desert along with Angelia.

Sebastian listened thoughtfully as Jay spoke, head nodding as he recalled the fact that his family was in Unova. Oh yeah, Jay had mentioned that once before he believed. ”Well that’s pretty neat. Good to have an expert along." Sebastian chimed with a bit of a grin as they started their way through the desert. He was squinting against sands, trying to do his best to make out the surroundings. "Where does your family live, exactly? Is it anywhere nearby?" He inquired curiously. It’d be kind of interesting if they passed along by Jay’s family in their travels, though he had no real clue if that was a thing or not. "You should take a chance to visit them while we’re out here, it’s good to see family." He remarked thoughtfully. It’d been a while since he’d seen his own family in person; it was always a nice thing to do.
"Ah… that makes sense." He remarked in thought. There was Kalos to finish and such. And he still had Johto to finish. Sebastian glanced over at Jay as he inquired, smiling and nodding.
