As her brother's Pokemon had, each of Lott's Pokemon fainted, leaving Hronn the soul victor. Though before much celebration could take hold, a male that Evan recognized started to walk across the field with a loud laugh. "Oui, look it's the weaklin' from before!" The male called out. Lott and Todd joined Evan at either of his sides, staring down the male as he approached. "Actually I was lookin' fer yea. You want a rematch? Don't worry.. that Eelektross I had before is at home restin' It's hard work beating everyone down. But..." He happily chuckled as he summoned a Pokemon before him. Another Eelektross... "I still got his little brutha." Hronn held up a hand to his chest, nodding firmly.. he was ready. Evan gave a nod. Alright.
This was one of those high strung battles, at first glance. However, as the battle commenced... The male's Pokemon quickly fainted. Evan, this time was victorious. "Now that's some fighting spirit you have there!" Shouted yet another voice. The loud short man from before leaped down from a tree, landing side by side his Hitmonlee. "I knew if it was a fair fight you'd beat him." The man continued looking across the field to Evan with a nod. Just then, Hronn cried out, turning back towards Evan with flapping arms. The Marshtomp's body began to glow! Brighter and Brighter until finally the form under the light shifted and grew. When the light faded Hronn stood before them a fully evolved mon, a Swampert. Letting out a roar to test his voice out, Evan grinned widely. "Yea, I was sure all this battling was going to get you to evolve!" In the end it was well worth it to wait a bit longer. Now he could head into the Gym with Hronn and Origin. But first, he had to say his good-byes to everyone else. "Well, anyway, Thanks Todd and Lott, you guys really helped me out." The brother and sister nodded in reply, giving a wave before they both headed off. Looking back towards the male with the Eelektross' He didn't look to happy about his loss. "Thanks to you too, Your timing couldn't of been more perfect." Evan replied. "Good spirited too!" The loud man stated. As Evan moved to Hronn's side, he approached, holding out a Pokeball. As if reading his mind, the man reached forward and took Evan's hand focably putting the ball on his open palm. "Don't worry 'bout me. Sanji's been meaning to see the world as it is, but I've got my rowdy Grandson and this city to look after, can't afford to go traveling." Well, when he put it that way.... "Alright..." After a pretty lengthy chat between Evan and the two males, Evan himself took his leave, finally ready to take on the Lavaridge gym. A strategy formed in his mind as he made his way there, only stopping once they reached the doors. Louhi offered a sharp nod, motioning towards the building. 'I will watch from the stands with Saga, and Sanji.' He stated. Evan gave a nod, looking back to his starter. "Don't let Sanji bother you to much." The male chuckled, noting the way the Hitmonlee stared at Saga, so intent and begging for attention. The mega Sceptile had opted to simply ignore him. With a shake of his head and a chuckle, Evan turned into the Gym.
After making his way through the steamy gym, Evan came upon a red-head currently kneeling beside a Torkoal. "Hello, are you the leader of this gym?" Evan inquired. He figured she was, but it was better to be safe than sorry. The girl turned her head to see who'd spoken, but then a moment later was standing up on her feet. "Hi!, er.. No. I mean.. Greetings Trainer. Are you here to figh... No, wait.. Are you here to challenge me?!" She was obviously trying on a bold tone... it kind of fit the female, but still it sounded a tad awkward with her nervousness. Evan nodded motioning Origin forward. "Alright! I accept!" That battle had certainly been something. Evan was really starting to sweat during that bout with the Ponyta. Thanks to the clutch effort from Undine, the battle ended in their favor. He'd certainly expected it to end more in his favor, but at least it ended with him being the winner. Taking a deep breath, the male met Flannery with a smile, thanking her in return for the hard battle. Heat badge in hand, he retreated from the gym and headed for the Pokemon center. Handing over Louhi, Origin, Hronn and Undine for some much needed attention Evan moved over to a nearby chair to rest for a moment. Putting the Tm he'd received from Flannery into his bag, deciding to keep it for another time. His team really didn't have anyone that needed a fire-type move, through.. now that he thought of it he didn't really have a fire-type on his team, save for Aki, but Aki was pretty weak right now. "Maybe I should start training up Aki now?" Evan pondered. Hronn was fully evolved and on par with everyone else in level, but he had so many others to work on as well. The next badge was normal-types.. so Aki's evolved forms would really help out, though Evan didn't know Aki later evolved into a Fire and fighting-type. Deciding to do that, Evan also decided to pool in his fighting-types to start training them as well, like Sanji and Stain. Law could also do with a bit of training himself, to get him on par with everyone else, but Evan decided to stick with the team of six he had right now.

Basil maintained his vigilance until, eventually, he had to shake his head and distract himself by looking elsewhere. Marx seemed engrossed in... whatever he was doing, so staring wasn't going to get much at this point. He instead lowered his gaze to Chima and Wynaut, who were still play fighting on the ground. Chima had successfully (somehow, perhaps with some help by her own opponent) gotten Wynaut on the ground, and hopped on his back, and was now gently biting on one of his ears. Flygon quirked her head, fluttering her wings a bit, and, surprisingly, Chima did the same. Basil couldn't tell if it was coincidence, communication, or just mimicry, but the baby pokemon seemed to be trying to lift herself, and wynaut, up. It didn't quite work, of course. Wynaut yelped as he was tugged, then hopped up, spun, and tackled Chima back onto the ground. The baby shrieked in surprise, and Flygon darted around, still watching them.
Was she being protective? Or curious? Basil watched her warily, then sighed, and looked back over at Marx. He would rather get moving, honestly... there was too much going on her efor him to keep an eye on everything, and at least when they were moving, Marx usually kept most of his pokemon inside their pokeballs, or everyone was too focused on keeping up and traveling to go and do something reckless. How much longer was he going to take sorting things out...

If the pokemon was still alive, that is. It was still sleeping, and hadn't eaten, or drank.... Should he be worried? A frown crossed his face and he looked back up, searching for signs of Marx. Sure, it hadn't been that long since his trainer left, but he could still hope... He distracted himself by looking over at the babies and Flygon, to make sure they were all still behaving and staying safe. Eventually, Marx did return, and Basil blinked a bit in surprise upon seeing his trainer. His hair was definitely a lot shorter. "Hey Basil! What do you think?" the brunette asked, clasping his hands behind his head with a grin. His starter just blinked a few more times in surprise and stared.
Despite getting no real reply, Marx seemed to think of something, jumping and pulling out his communicator to take a picture-- mostly just of the top of his head, with his eyes barely visible. Saving the picture, he quickly sent a few messages, with the picture attached-- one to Cheria, Rose, Shenaiya, and Alex, with the message: 'Hey! Marx laughed and patted the pokemon. "Is that yours?" He blinked and looked up, but to his surprise, the voice speaking was directed at basil, who had also turned to the girl that was addressing him with surprise. He stared with wide eyes, then looked down at the sleeping pokemon in his arms, which she was apparently addressing. Uncertain whether it was even possible to try and communicate, he quickly whipped his head around to look at Marx, green eyes stressfully trying to give a signal for him to help (preferably before one eye started twitching). Whether Marx got the message, or just had the good sense to intervene, he straightened up, setting Chima back down, and flashing the girl a smile as he walked over. "Its mine, actually! He's just holding it. Uh..." Marx looked at Basil a moment, apparently trying to decide whether to unveil his current... status or not. Only to turn back to the girl with another grin. "We're traveling together so we tend to help take care of each other's pokemon," he finished.
"Oh! So you're both trainers?" she asked curiously, looking between them. They exchanged a look. "Sooooort offf...." Marx answered, giving Basil an uncertain look. The disguised grovyle tried hard not to roll his eyes, and instead just looked flatly off to the side, annoyed.

Marx looked at Basil a moment, then back to the gril, perking up as always and putting on a smile as he laced his fingers behind his head. "What about you? Are you a trainer?" he asked, while Basil tried to swallow his annoyance, and adjusted the zorua in his arms. Honestly, he just wanted to get going, or at least back to discussing tactics, moves, even contests, but it seemed Marx was more interested in chatting with the girl. So, he excused himself, moving around Marx to go back to the other pokemon, a bit closer to Flygon. The dragon was still hovering (literally) around the children, but Chima seemed to be getting tired, and even Wynaut was slowing down (or perhaps backing off). Eventually, the pink baby pokemon yawned, and promptly floated down, onto Wynaut, yawning once more before curling up a bit. Flygon gave a curious, churring sound, leaning down and gently nudging it awake. Basil gave her a slight kick and a disapproving look. Flygon blinked, cooing back at him, and he shook his head. For some reason, being... disguised like this, made him less interested in talking, but that wasn't goign to keep him quiet. He kept Flygon shooed off so that Chima could get some sleep, and even Wynaut seemed to take the chance to lay down and doze a bit, though he kept his eyes at least partially open. Just watching them nap in the middle of the town somehow made Basil a little drowsy, though...

Trying not to fall asleep (which was really getting hard, given he had one and a half cute, asleep baby pokemon, a sleeping pokemon in his arms, and the warmth of a hot sun beating down on him), Basil was luckily stirred away by his trainer approaching him. "Hey Basil, guess what! We're gonna do a battle with Meliny here. I told her we could use the practice, and she agreed! We can leave after, okay?" he announced, beaming. Basil gave him a wary look, but nodded, adjusting the zorua in his arms. He looked over at the girl, who flashed him a friendly smile, then sighed. He wasn't sure he'd be allowed to actually battle, here, but... at least things were happening.
