Ian followed Justin's directions with a small smile, surprisingly okay with being touched so suddenly. "Rock paper scissors?" He asked, chuckling a little. "Sure." He held his hands out to match Cesc and bounced his fist twice before revealing his own choice: scissors. "Oh, scissors cuts paper. Left it is, then." He turned to look over his shoulder into the maze, pushing a hand through his hair. He grimaced when he hit a bit of the giant's honey-blood, wiping it on his pants with a soft noise of disgust.

"Left it is," said Cesc, following Ian and Justin down the path. Although the fairy's appearance had left him feeling calmer than before, he ears swiveled atop his head, searching for sounds of other monsters. If the maze was anything like it had been before, there was no telling what they might see.

Damn it. He KNEW something was coming. And while he was assured of getting healed after the encounter, Cesc was in no hurry to subject himself or his companions to any further pain.
As he saw the demon, he lunged toward it, slicing in an upward motion. He yelled nothing this time, fairly certain Ian would not, this time, hurl his poker at the demon.

They had wandered unharmed for a bit, and perhaps that had made Justin a little less wary than he should've been. When he noticed the demon, Cesc was alreayd slicing at it, the light of his wings glinting off of his sword. To be frank, he looked damn cool - just like what should be fighting demons and giants and what-have-yous: a paladin. And there was Ian, good of heart and pretty-faced, he could be the bard or something. A bard with a firepoker. Justin, however... He was normal and couldn't cast fireballs or anything. He snorted and launched himself at the demon.
It was pretty, for a demon. But then again, peacocks often were. It reminded him of his mother's house and with a yell, he neatly smashed some of those pretty tail feathers.
Kill first, ask questions later.

Ian really should have seen it coming. Things had been too quiet for too long, and it was just his luck that he would choose the direction that led to a monster. He sighed heavily. Though the demon was impressive, and certainly...demonic, Ian didn't feel especially afraid. Knowing that none of this led to any real, lethal consequences, and that the fairy would be returning to heal them all if they survived, he felt more confident now.
He gripped his firepoker with both hands and dashed at the demon, slashing wildly with the curved end and aiming for the creature's head and neck.

. . . Despite the appearance of the feathered creature, the rounded attack from all three of you have this demon squawking. It lets out a petty cry and charges at Ian, leaking wispy shadows from its wounds.

Cesc watched as the demon went forward, but there was no fear in his face. This wasn't the jungle, and the demon wasn't the Eye -- or even the giant they had just faced. This one seemed on its last legs already, and the stag allowed it to go past him in order to try to get the creature in the back. He did, letting the scimitar go between the feathers to deliver a devastating blow.

Going for the demon's face had been a bad idea. Though he'd landed a blow, it had also left him open for attack. The demon had knocked him to the side with a firm blow to the stomach. Ian managed to swing his weapon and hit the demon for good measure as he went down, feeling a distinct tightness in his chest and stomach that came with being hit in the diaphragm. He gasped and struggled for a moment before managing to get to his feet, pushing his curly bangs out of his face.

"Ian!" Justin sprinted forward rather quickly (especially for him) when he saw the young man go down with a swing of the demon's hand. He chucked his bat artlessly at the demon, clipping it in the head even as Cesc hit it hard from behind. "You guys okay?" Justin didn't think Cesc had been hit, but Ian certainly had.

. . .As you fell the demon, he lets out a thunderous roar and slumps to the floor. Like the ogre, he sounds hollow, and its corpse quickly disappears as the shadow from inside it surrounds it and sinks it back into the earth.
With a flash of green light, the fairy reappears in front of your group. She stands over where the demon once was and claps once, twice, almost in mocking congratulations. Like before, Ian's wounds are healed.
"Better! Better," she says-- "Kinda wish that demon gave you more of a fight, y'know? Whatever. Catch ya later, boys." She waves once and disappears.
END BATTLE
Ian's wounds are healed! . . .
