Thaddeus only laughed at her. Did she really find joy in beating someone who already died before? Death was no stranger to him and it certainly would not scare him now. As long as Eobard lived, that ego maniac would always find another way to continue his goals, whether it was cloning him again or through other means. The male had numerous sources after all.
"I don't care about dying. That's something several others already beat you to , so in a way, dealing with me was pointless. What I'm curious about is your death. Will you be screaming in anguish as you're taken down to whatever purgatory you rest. With a laugh like that, I imagine you'll suffer a very gruesome demise.[With that, his body lay motionless as he was dead

Thoughts: Coup de grace?

When Nathaniel looked back towards the battlefield, he had a most unexpected sight: the one they called the Black Beetle was pointing one of her arm cannons at Nathaniel. Not Ian. Nathaniel. Hearing her talk about Earth not being his world, but the Reach's, it made Nathaniel think. No wonder the Green Lantern seemed different from usual: it was this Beetle's doing. Every Green Lantern had a bad reaction whenever a Scarab is around the immediate area, and in Ian's case, it made him more aggressive.

Seeing the cannon pointed at him, Nathaniel did something quite unexpected: many villains would cower, begging for mercy. But Nathaniel simply closed his eyes and prepared for the embrace of Death. No power, no protection. It seemed his life was at an end. And surprisingly, the Yellow Lantern was okay with that. Until he felt Ian suddenly drop. And then. BANG!!! A grenade went off and Nathaniel was buffeted by the resulting explosion. It seemed his life was going to end anyway. But at the last second, his ring reactivated and the familiar rush of power flooded his veins. The armor came up and shielded him from the rest of the grenade's explosion and Nathaniel also skidded on the sand below him.

Unlike Ian, Nathaniel slowly got up, retracting the helmet to cough, spitting up a little bit of blood. The grenade did a bit of internal damage before he was suited up, so even though he was alive, he was not in the best shape, "Ring, administer painkillers and coagulants into the bloodstream," he ordered. It was a temporary measure, so he could heal up the internal bleeding a little bit and stave off the pain of his injuries enough to continue fighting.

Getting onto his feet, he located Ian and noticed several things: he was unpowered, and he seemed to not be in the best of conditions. He slowly walked over to the ailing young man and pushed him with his foot onto his back, then kept him down with the same boot, "So now, Ian, the tables of turned against you. You should of let the Beetle finish me off, then you might actually have a chance of living past today. But now," Nathaniel said, pointing his ring straight at Ian's head, the glow slowly intensifying as he charged up a blast that if he released it, would likely blow his head clean off, "You have almost no chance of living past the next 10 seconds."

There was enough pressure on Ian's chest that he would not be able to lift Nathaniel's boot off without his ring's power. And unlike Ian, who hesitated, there was no hesitation from Nathaniel. Unless someone saved Ian right now, the Green Lantern was going to die.

Fierce as a lion....

{Crimson Crusader’s POV}

Crimson Crusader was absolutely infuriated. How dare this demon pull her from the saddle! How dare he harm her! How dare he try to take his beloved Arturia away‼ She was his rider, his commander, his friend! She belonged here, up in the saddle that rested on his back, high above the danger of ground combat. But this demon had dragged her from that nest and no doubt intended to take her someplace beyond his reach, for which he would die. No one was going to take his Arturia from him. Absolutely no one.

Every single person on the battlefield would suddenly hear the powerful warhorse release an ear-splitting scream of fury, with a volume that only a creature of the Astral Plane could accomplish. His ears were pinned back, his teeth were bared, his jet-black tail rapidly thrashed back and forth as he ran in front of Arturia and reared. He even allowed his wings to materialize and extended them to make himself appear larger and more threatening. The blood-red stallion was displaying every indicative sign of rage that a horse could make.

Ordinarily, Crimson only allowed Arturia and divine beings to understand him, but now, he wanted all to hear. "Thou hast angered me greatly, daemon! Thou hast harmed my rider, and for such an action, thou shalt face my wrath and perish!!" The armored stallion's voice roared through the air like thunder. One almost expected the sky to go dark and for lightning to flash behind him.

{Back to Arturia}

By this time, Arturia was crying from the pain and sheer terror, her entire body trembling. She had honestly thought that she was going to die, or worse, become demon food. But the demon had allowed her to get up, and was actually going to give her a "fair" fight. By the time she had managed to get to shakily her feet, cradling her wrist as she picked up Excalibur, Crimson Crusader had moved in front of her, vowing vengeance on the demon. As much as she loved that he was so protective and loyal, she saw that someone else needed the protection more. The Green Lantern appeared to be in some deep trouble, so she stumbled up to Crimson and softly asked him to go help the ringed hero instead. After a bit of arguing, he agreed and went to go tackle Nathaniel.

The female knight then turned to face the demon. "I-I know that this probably is not in your character, but could you give me just a moment to recover a bit? I am still a bit out of breath, and I would like to check my wrist so that I know if I can still wield Excalibur with this hand." she politely asked, looking a bit scared and worried. She was stalling, but she really did want to check.

Meanwhile, Nathaniel Grant would suddenly find 2,500 pounds of angry, armored equine charging straight for him at high speed. If he didn't move, he was gonna be trampled.

....and free as the wind.

Allegiance: Sinestro Corps
Status: Healthy
Thoughts: Of all the things to stop me, a horse stepped up to the plate?

The yellow ring had reached the end of it's charge cycle, and Nathaniel looked at the now vulnerable Ian with an almost psychotic smirk on his face. It was going to be over for the Green Lantern. After weeks of reconnaissance, planning, and execution, he would finally be able to kill the Green Lantern and report to Sinestro that the deed is done. Of course, he was likely going to find his next assignment will be the the finding and murdering of the other Green Lanterns of Earth. After all, on that fateful day in Metropolis, there were four GL rings going out to find suitable wielders. To truly eliminate Earth's threat to the Sinestro Corps, he'll have to find all of them. But that will be saved for another time.

But just when he was about to release that final shot, Nathaniel was bowled aside, freeing Ian from potential death. Tumbling on the sands, Nathaniel slid for a couple of feet before he flipped back on his feet. He looked over at the shadow looming over him and caught Crimson Crusader's lashing hooves in time. Of all the things to stop him, they sent a horse? And it seemed to be a smart one if it singled him out as an enemy, "You will not forestall my victory, beast," he answered, both arms becoming large gauntlets as he used the rings ambient power to augment his strength to superhuman levels. He forced the horse off it's feet and onto its back as he walked around the lashing hooves, the gauntlets transforming into an M4 carbine as he took aim and shot it twice in the head, "All will kneel before my might, or be put down like animals."

Fierce as a lion....

{Crimson Crusader’s POV}

Crimson Crusader seemed to almost laugh at Nathaniel's first words. "Oh, really? I think that I'm already doing just that!" he replied, holding his head high. However, the stallion soon squealed in shock and slight pain as the Yellow Lantern knocked him to the ground. That was slightly unexpected. Not that it really should be, though. Of course, like any logical being, Crimson immediately tried to roll to the side so that he could get to his feet. Unfortunately, he wasn't fast enough, and pain exploded in his head as two bullets lodged themselves in his skull, something that would kill an ordinary horse. Luckily, Crimson was not ordinary, so instead of dying, he faded away into a reddish mist and returned to the Astral Plane via Arturia's amulet.

Once there, the poor stallion screamed in pain and rage, rolling around in the grass. Dammit, now Arturia was all alone out there! He was too injured to head back out into the Material Plane, but he needed to be out there. He couldn't just leave her there on her own, she wouldn't last the entire battle without someone at her side! Sure, there were other heroes there, but Crimson didn't trust them to be of any help. They were busy fighting other villains.

However, there was one thing he could do to ensure Arturia's safety. There was a certain denizen of the Astral Plane that owed him a favor... The dragon, Verteidiger. He was strong, powerful, and he had scales that couldn't be penetrated by bullets. Now, if only he could get to him....

....and free as the wind.

Allies: Martian Manhunter, Arturia Enemies: Nathaniel Grant, Black Beetle, Disguised Ares and Demon Saving: The World

Ian looked on towards the battlefield through his blurred vision, he wasn't quite sure of what was really going on. The Black Beetle was gone, that was for sure, as he couldn't see a hulking black blob anywhere and his ring was still refusing to ignite. Little by little, his vision began to focus, the ringing in his ears began to fade but his body didn't seem to change; it was probably nothing more than bruises but the shell shock made him feel like he was made of lumps of coal rather than flesh and bone. He could hardly feel himself or muster up the energy to drag his weight upwards off the floor. If he didn't do something soon he was going to die. He knew this. He even went as far as to imagine the Corps reaction at his death. They would probably not be too impressed, citing Hal Jordan managed to save Earth as many times as he endangered it, that Hal Jordan had taken on whole Corps by himself, that Ian was in no way supposed to be the successor to Hal's ring. He imagined it all until eventually, he was in the Guardians' Chamber, looking towards the small blue little space gnomes and smiled as they all just seemed to carry on with their infinite lives. To them Ian was just a flash in the pan...

Snapped from his daydream for a second, Ian smiled trying not to laugh as he spotted the blob spluttering out blood from what looked to be his mouth. Then continued not to laugh as the Yellow Lantern hobbled over to him and couldn't contain himself as Nathaniel finally accomplished the Herculean task that he had been trying to complete with no more than his foot. His ears still rang slight. His vision only just began to clear and feeling finally returned to Ian's body as he registered his opposite's foot in the centre of his chest. Nathaniel began to say something but in his delirium he could not hear it, he just continued to laugh under his breath to himself and went back to the Guardians' Chamber.

On second inspection, there was not actually a unanimous decision to carry on as normal. Two guardians in particular, seemed rather saddened by the fact that Hal's... no Ian's ring... floated in front of them. Ganthet and Sayd seemed to be in deep discussion about it actually, solemn expressions on their face and trying their hardest to avoid even looking at the ring. Ian made his way towards them, a ghost, a memory, silent and the two continued their discussion. They ignored the other guardians content to memorialise Ian rather than go about their day. Looking at them, the young Earthling couldn't decide whether or not being mourned for a day by a Guardian was actually a good thing. They had infinite amounts of days but for them to sacrifice one, to take the time to remember rather than forget, was it a good thing? Was it futile? He couldn't tell. But then the oddest thing happened.

"Maybe we were wrong Ganthet." Sayd croaked as she looked towards the ring "Maybe Ian wasn't good enough." Sayd's betrayal struck Ian harder than Nathaniel ever could with her and Ganthet being the only ones that supported Ian's induction into the Corps; he couldn't help but feel that he'd let them down. "We weren't wrong Sayd." Ganthet replied "Ian did well. The only reason you say that is because you wish we'd taken the ring off him when he asked. If we had then maybe..."
"Maybe he'd still be alive."
"Yes, Sayd. He'd still be alive. So young." Finally looking towards the ring, Ganthet floated out towards it with Sayd and shook his head. Ian could see that he was racked with guilt. But what for? What had he done that was so terrible? "The saddest thing is that he died not knowing how well he'd done..."

Ian suddenly began laughing again as he vanished from the Chamber and was once again, back down on the sand. Foot on his chest. But laughing still and looking straight up at Nathaniel, his chest wobbling the foot. Why was he even laughing? Was this how he was going to die, laughing his head off over the words two Guardians had said. "Hahahahaha! They're wrong..." Ian looked towards the ring one last time and running out of breathe, what was funny finally became apparent to him. It wasn't the fact that Ian thought that the whole situation was funny but the fact that Ian was content now. He seemed to have made peace with himself now that this was going to be his final moment. I may not be Hal Jordan. I may not do half of what Hal's done but you know what? I did well for me, didn't I? He looked back at who he was For the scared boy in a car... I did ********> Delirious, tired and ready Ian closed his eyes and waited for Nathaniel to do what he had to do. This was the end of Ian Paul Wickes, the boy who was far too ordinary, the shy guy, the Game Designer, the sensible.

But nothing happened. Eyes still closed he heard voices and thuds. Then he heard gunshots. A screech of pain. Nathaniel's voice again.

Whatever, had saved Ian's life had just died and that death reawoke Ian from his haze, his confusion and reminded him that lives were on the line. Snapping open, his eyes had the strange white/blue hue that the ring produced in them to hide his identity and his ring sparked with an emerald fire that coated his body and lifted him from the sand until he stood in all his Green Lantern glory before Nathaniel once again. He smiled, as he turned towards the attacker, the invader, the traitor and stood poised with the Green Fire of his willpower still licking his back and his extremities. Nathaniel was the reason Ian couldn't lose. It had taken whatever that guttural sound was to remind him of that. People were dying. So, now was the not the time for Ian to be feeling sorry for himself, now was the time for him to excel, to transcend, to make Ganthet and Sayd proud as he willed for a future.

Well then...that was interesting. Instead of the satisfaction of putting a good horse down, the horse dissolved into red mist and left the battlefield. Satisfied that he would now be able to proceed with eliminating an obstacle to his plans and Sinestro's, he turned the assault rifle from where the horse used to be and aimed it straight at where he believed Ian would still be lying down at, only to find that the young man that was a few seconds away from being killed by his hands, was now standing up and placing him under arrest, or he will kick his a** about as thoroughly as Nathaniel did to him back at the slums.

Well if that wasn't the most ridiculous thing he had heard. Sure, the Lantern had shown some gumption and was even putting up a fight earlier, but Nathaniel still believed he held all the cards. Even if the Black Beetle turned against him, Inertia was now dead, and he was unsure of the other invasion zones status. Ian would see the Yellow Lantern shake his head.....and laugh, "You. You're going to arrest me, Ian? That's a very good joke. I already know the reason behind your sudden bursts of aggressive behavior. Took the Beetle over there posturing about the Reach and stuff like that, but it all makes sense now."

The assault rifle disappeared from his hands and in it's place, was a rather large sword. One that looked cursed, with what looks like an eye above the hilt, and a skull above said eye. The eye even blinked at Ian, "But your steroid rage is just a bluff. Underneath all that machismo, you are still the scared, little boy, wishing that Jordan's ring never found you in the first place," Nathaniel then pointed the macacbre sword at Ian, his face an emotionless mask, "This world is mine, Ian, and you will know this fact. And I will make sure that by days end, you will be groveling at my feet, begging for mercy. Like a little b***h."

And he will be merciful and end Ian's pathetic, miserable life.

Sleeping beauty seemed to be in a hurry to catch up for lost time, as he quickly flew out with a series of punches and kicks. He really was was quite good, if not for his battle mastery he'd have likely been k.o.ed by one of his power hits. Dodging most of the hits, Darres would use his blade to block what he couldn't dodge showing his monstrous strength in the process. Just as the war god ducked under a power punch sent at him his form would vanish only to reappear a few feet away giving him the need space to summon five more swords before sending them at the martian. One blade would be aimed at his chest and one aimed at each limb, with his telekinesis to make the swords like homing missiles. However this was all a ploy to get himself attacked again now with his blade ready to strike.

Ian simply stood and smirked towards Nathaniel, was this guy seriously just all talk? yeah, maybe he was right about the whole beetle thing and the fact that Ian was scared and that he wished the ring had never found him but for the scared little boy underneath a bunch of bluster: He was not doing too shabby at all. It was just like the imaginary Ganthet and Sayd had said. He was doing so well, for who he was, what he was trying to accomplish, there was no one that could doubt him. Nathaniel in all respects should have been shitting all over him, taking him out to pasture, putting an old dog down but instead he had to be all mouth. The trained soldier meeting his match in the Video Game Designer. How odd was that?

But what was more odd was that Nathaniel was genuinely all mouth it seemed... Considering that he was a soldier, war should have been easy for him, his experience should have been able to eclipse Ian at any moment. But it didn't. Was he actually having a hard time? Was Ian putting up more of a challenge than he anticipated? Was he afraid? All these questions ran through Ian's head as Nathaniel just kept on talk, kept on goading. There was no way Ian was about to strike first unless it was absolutely necessary but that thought was pushed aside for another one that kept naggling at Ian, now confident in himself. How did he ever lose to Nathaniel in the first place?

If this world was truly Nathaniel's, how come there was so much resistance?

"I may be bluffing, but this bluffing kid has you on the back foot. Has your plan hitting a rut. Had you powerless. Is Who you now... OWE YOUR LIFE TO!" Ian continued to watch as the yellow lantern in front of him pranced about with a sword that looked oddly like soul edge. "So yeah, I'm gunna take you to church? Got a problem with it?" The flames of willpower dancing on Ian's back flickered and moulded themselves down Ian's arm into a ball in his hand before instantaneously shift into the solid, dense shape of a sword. The first sword that came to mind whenever he thought about or wanted a cool weapon: Squall's gunblade from FFVIII. Griever keychain included. The only real difference being the bullet chamber reel in the middle of the blade. It didn't have holes in it to fit bullets but instead was kitted out for an entirely different effect...

What that was... well, that would be a "shock" for Nathaniel to find out...

ABDI'KARIM GHEDI

Martian Manhunter

"I'm not my predecessor..."

Abdi grinned, a bloodthirsty howl forcing its way out his mouth, his lips distorting and stretching to an almost grotesque size, his grin seemingly splitting his face in half. Abdi's haymaker was dodged, and the Martian watched as Darres teleported to behind him, the whistling sounds of blades being the only warning he had. Abdi phased, but was just barely too late, as one of the five swords, the one aimed at his left leg, managed to graze his thigh, drawing first blood. "You'll... you'll pay for that!" Abdi screamed maniacally, coming in with one fist, the other reshaping itself to a large axe, that the large Martian swung low with, aiming for a femoral artery on the thigh, or even simply to grind into Darres's hip. While he was attacking physically, O'jore began to truly send in mind-invasive tendrils of psionic energy, sending millions of thoughts to Darres, showing him his own death in increasingly gruesome ways.

"If you get in my way, I'll simply kill you."

Was Ian trying to goad him into a haphazard response? A grave miscalculation that would end with his defeat? As much as Nathaniel wanted to crush this kid's head right now, Ian would find his taunts were not having the effect he was hoping for. Nathaniel's face remained like stone, those eyes glued directly at him. Even as he summoned a sword of his own, one that Nathaniel recognized was straight from a Final Fantasy game. Only difference was the barrels. There was nothing suggesting it was going to fire bullets. There was something about this construct that told Nathaniel he would have to be on his guard.

"On the back foot? No. I haven't even begun to fight," Nathaniel answered. Within a split second though, he had unleashed a second construct at Ian, a clawed hand that reach for Ian to hopefully grab him and immediately pull him towards Nathaniel. Once he was in range, he immediately dispelled the grappling hook like construct and slashed down with the yellow Soul Edge replica, not even bothering for subtly. He was aiming for maximum brutality, a cleaving strike that would end the Green Lantern's life once and for all.

But there was something about Nathaniel's attack. Why would he purposely bring the Green Lantern to him if he knew something was up with Ian's gunblade? What was Nathaniel truly thinking?

Allies: Martian Manhunter, Arturia Enemies: Nathaniel Grant, Black Beetle, Disguised Ares and Demon Saving: The World

Keeping his grip firmly on his not-so-gunblade gunblade, Ian responded to Nathaniel's continued stoic expression with his own expression: A perpetual grin. Why? Because even though Nathaniel seemed to be okay, Ian knew that it must have been eating him up inside that all his plans, all his bluster, his place at Sinestro's boots licking his feet were all up in the air thanks to the boy whom Nathaniel, and Ian himself, knew was 'bluffing'. Well, you could call it bluffing; Ian was more inclined to call it channelling now that he had been under the effects of the Reach Scarab's spell for some time; he was actually beginning to regain his senses and focus his agression and energy into one purpose. Win the battle. Save the world.

C'mon. The Green Lantern thought to himself, putting his racing blood to good use as his slid his index finger neatly towards the trigger of his new weapon. Make a move, make a move, make a move! Godammit! It was taking all the Green Lantern's willpower to stay rooted to the spot and not charge towards Nathaniel like a madman now that he had a sword in his hand but if what Nathaniel said was true, which he doubted due to the fact that no one brings an army along unless their fighting full on and for keeps, he needed to be on his guard and not rush into things. One false move meant not only his death but the death of thousands. And that simply would not do...

It was then, that Nathaniel decided that he was done waiting, which was lucky too because Ian was about to spring forward out of boredom. The construct looked familiar, a clawed hand reaching out at range, it was almost too easy to discern its purpose. Grab and pull. Easy enough. It was a Blitzcrank manoeuvre. Similar to the game League of Legends that Ian played in his spare time. Blitzcrank's rocket grab basically did the same thing, if it landed it pulled whatever it clutched back towards itself and followed up with an attack. Nathaniel was probably planning to do the exact same thing, which was a shame, because Ian finally thought that the tow of them were beginning to think on the same level now. Games. But most abilities have weaknesses and Rocket Grab's was simple...

Ian simply listed lazily to the left, sword now propped on his shoulder as the construct sailed by him by inches. Standing so close, the Green Lantern couldn't be too sure that Nathaniel could edit the construct to rectify for his miss, so without further or do, brought down his sword with an almighty slashing strike; smashing its way through the yellow chain attached to Nathaniel's arm and rippling with delight as it did so. Willpower once again triumphing over fear. Ian even squeezed the trigger as the blade made contact causing the chamber to spin violently, almost as if it were a Russian roulette, just without the bullets. Whatever this construct was set on doing obviously wasn't finished yet, as the chamber stopped spinning, the blade simply flickered and Ian rested the blunt side of the blade back on his shoulder.

One. He continued smirking...

When Nathaniel could see that the hook was going to miss, Nathaniel already had a way to rectify this mistake. As Ian's sword came down to cut the chain, the construct suddenly animated, like a snake, immediately wrapping itself around the entirety of the gunblade, effectively stopping his swing dead in its tracks. With a hefty pull, Nathaniel hoped to wrest the blade out of his hands. Now why would this work? Ian was a college student, studying Game Designing. It can be a safe bet that he was not as physically fit as say a college student who plays football for Metropolis University. Much less an Army Soldier. His training with Killowag may of helped to improve his physical fitness, but Nathaniel still held the edge in a test of physical strength.

With his weapon hopefully deprived, Nathaniel dispelled the hook construct and charged forward, almost blinking to close the gap between them. His own sword construct was glowing even brighter than it was previously as he slashed forward. When the blade hopefully made contact with Ian's suit, a sudden burst of yellow energy would burst forward, engulfing the youth with devastating force. Providing it hits.

But that wasn't all. From the din of the smoke and the upturned sand, a swarm of rockets pierced the tan veil, all bearing down at Ian. Nathaniel had decided to create a construct on his shoulders, which basically looked like twin man sized missile racks, similar to what you would see on a HIMARS Multiple Rocket Launcher vehicle.

Allies: Martian Manhunter, Arturia Enemies: Nathaniel Grant, Black Beetle, Disguised Ares and Demon Saving: The World

Whether chain or snake, it would all meet the same end. The snake would lunge and Ian's already falling blade and be sliced without any remorse, Ian smirking still as his finger eased off the trigger and he still counted that as the: One.

What he was counting towards was his secret, but as the yellow snake faded from existence all the Green Lantern could do was look towards Nathaniel and laugh to himself. Was this really it? Was this all he really had? He rallied an army, attacked three of the major cities in the world but for some reason decided that he was going to have the lot next to Inertia? Wow, to Ian that was just weak. If you're going to threaten to take over the world, you may as well actually be able to do it that's how Ian saw it anyway. But unlike him, his allies weren't having that much luck and there was still the mystery of whether or not the Black Beetle, the source of his vigour was on his side or not. There were too many variables. Too many things that could go wrong and Ian, being the perfectionist he was, wasn't about to let it happen. Not to his town. So, he would bait out Nathaniel, lean the blunt edge of his gunblade on his shoulder and simply wait: Because he had to recharge at some point, he'd been throwing constructs around like crazy...

Whilst Ian had made an energy blast, a light flare, a small piece of film to block of Nathaniel's ring and the sword he was currently holding in his hands...

"Sure you don't want to reconsider Nath?" Ian laughed "You can make this a lot easier for the both of us if you just give up, let me save the others and lock you in a Sciencell."

Nathaniel replied in kind with a strike, dashing forward towards Ian and Ian, being Ian at this moment in time, just continued smirking as he watched the sword come towards him. The thing was, Ian didn't have to guide his constructs with his hands, in fact sometimes it could be the other way around. Keeping his finger discreetly by the trigger so that he could once again squeeze it, Ian grasped the remaining part of the handle with his other hand and charged forward to meet his foe. Will it where you want it go... Like flying...

And in response to his will, Ian's gunblade moved upwards, dragging his hands and arms with it, catching the tip of Nathaniel's blade and pushing it out to the side as the energy released itself just off to the side of Ian thanks to his parry and Ian pulled the trigger for a second time. Two. With his sword now knocked out to the side, Nathaniel was defenceless and with Ian at such close proximity it would be wise for him to back off but Ian wasn't about to let this chance slip through his fingers now that Nathaniel had expeneded all that energy in order to make that small explosion. He instead stayed on him, withdrawing his sword from the deadlock and willing it forward in a slicing motion, aiming for Nathaniel's abdomen.

Nathaniel Grant

"In Blackest day. In Brightest night! Beware your fears made into light. Let those who try to stop what's right -- burn like his power -- Sinestro's might!"
User Image

Allegiance: Sinestro Corps
Status: Healthy
Thoughts: Surprise.

Well, this was a predicament. His attempt to ensnare the sword did not go as planned. And Ian was being a cocky a*****e. Like at the Slums. But at that time, his cockiness left the moment he realized Nathaniel was better than him at that time. Now, he wasn't so sure. But if Ian thought Nathaniel was defenseless, he was horribly mistaken. For when Ian's sword came to slash open his abdomen, the sword simply passed through. Once again, Nathaniel had simply used his ring to phase through solid objects. Including Ian's own attack.

But as Ian sword ended it's swing, Nathaniel ended the phasing effect, then he effectively slapped the gunblade, and backed off, forming twin missile racks on his shoulders and launching several at the Green Lantern.

Once far enough away, Nathaniel simply snapped his fingers. Ian would hopefully notice that there was what looked like an explosive charge was placed right on the blade. And with Nathaniel snapping his fingers, it has now gone off. Nathaniel packed enough energy within that charge to hopefully shatter that blade of his and do a good bit of damage to the Green Lantern.
