Masuyu was caught between desire to watch the watermelon slaughter, or stay alert to the person who'd decided to engage them. He noted the hand behind the man's back, but kept himself aware of the rest of the body. A sense of excitement rose within him, as this would mark his first battle since he joined the Knights, but despite his awareness, he made no physical response to the man's movements thus far. At most, he would be wearing a half-smile from the sight of the crash, as it no doubt reminded him of a random comedy movie.

"Chaos, my old friend. Gaia has become, if it's believable, more chaotic than normal. All because of some petals, and a game of some sort."
The crash as Vahn landed made Allen look behind him, too see the man approaching Masuyu and the jeep. Making Allen sigh. If the guy could get up that easily, then it was likely there would be a fight, and likely a big one.
"Dammit, when I hired those guys I'd thought they'd be able to stay out of trouble. Next time I check the credentials of mercenaries rather than just picking them up off the street..."

The penguin turned and bowed to Alexiel. "Yes...." He waved his sword around. "Today is waltz practice and this watermelons should have known better!"
The watermelons tittered and twittered before the penguin turned to them and threatened them with his sword.
"EEeeeeh!" And off they scattered. "But the Jellos aren't here...." He growled at them, swinging his sword as yet another watermelon went down, the red inner fruit being flung everywhere.
"THE ART MUST GO ON!"

Charles raised his eyebrow at the watermelon massacre, then looked at Allen with a look of hurt-disgust. "You hired mercenaries? You could have called me, you know. I've been doing nothing but fundraising for the A~E projects for the last few weeks now!"
"And what's this guy's deal?" motioning to the no-longer-airborne crazy man.

Alexiel felt kind of sorry for the watermelons. "Erm... Mr. Penguin... would by any chance know anything about some petals? Perhaps a man with a handle bar mustache?" Distract the penguin and he couldn't hurt the poor fruit.
All the while, half of Alexiel's attention was on what was going on behind her with her new friend. Daemon's attention, however, was on her bag. He was keeping careful watch to ensure that nothing happened to it or its contents as he rested on her shoulder.

Grinning sheepishly, he looked back at Degs to apologize. He really hadn't thought about asking Degs for help. In fact, he'd have figured A~E would have it's own stake in this.
"Sorry about that. I just met them while wandering around here ad it seemed convenient, since I wanted to hitch a ride anyways. And...the previously airborne man was mooned by one of the mercs. I think he's pissed."

And from the pool of kitten fur a small paw came up and twitched, a small "mewwww..." weakly sounding before the paw fell and nothing more was done.
======================
"Petals no..."
One flipper went to his chin and he scratched at it. "But there is a guy with a handle bar mustache right over there." He pointed behind Vahn, seemingly unphased by the antics of the group. "
He pointed to a blacksmith sign." He makes all my swords." He scooped up a bit of watermelon goo and slopped it into his mouth.

Charles nodded. "I see. So are we just enjoying the show or are we going to help 'em out? I mean, that penguin killing watermelons is pretty entertaining.... not that I'd want to get near that sword."

With taut jaw, opaj again closed his eyes and focused on his sixth-sense. Through the crowd, the group near the jeep stood out clearly in his mind. Flare... and two more that he had met before, but never caught their names. They should all be on the same side.
His grip on the hilt of his blade tightened, his eyes snapped open. "You coming?" he said to Angel, not bothering to face her. With that, he made his way out of the marketplace and into the boardwalk.

"Thank you very much, Mr. Penguin." Alexiel gave a polite smile and bow to the samurai penguin. Mentally now she made a note to her companion, 'Don't panic, this is Alex' well, she didn't want him to panic at the sound of a voice in his head. 'I'm a telepath... Guy with the handlebar mustache is behind you.'
Alex looked down at the penguin and then back beyond Vahn to the man with the mustache. Choices, choices...

"...!"
He was a bit caught off guard by the sudden sound of a voice in his head. He stopped his stride enough to look behind him as told.
All he found was several more stalls, a few people to the side staring at him, and the regular flow of shoppers and vendors on either side of him. The sign of what appeared to be a smithy swung back and forth lazily as well.
Well... that makes things easier. You seem to have the better people skills, so hurry back. I still have some work to finish up here.

"Eh. They're mercenaries. They should be able to take care of themselves, right? Right?"
Yeah, Allen was trying to find an excuse to avoid fighting. Especially sicne itd take time away from the search for the petals, and likely draw the attention of more people. Which would make it even harder to get out of here. And frankly, those delays were something he didn't want.
But...he couldn't exactly leave them there when they might not survive either. So it was a hard call...

Masuyu furrowed a brow as the man seemed to take pause. He glanced around at his comrades, wondering if any of them were feeling the wait aswell. Behind him, he could head Allen speaking to someone else, but decided it better to pay attention to the potential attacker rather than his employer's chat.

"No problem lady." He turned around, waving his sword once more. "Now find those lazy good for nothing Jellos or you don't get to go to the ball!" And off the entire group bounded, off to search...for Jello apparently.

Alexiel watched the penguin for a moment before turning her horse and heading in Vahn's direction. She walked along the edges of the stalls, being sure stay as far away from the commotion as possible as she moved through the gathering crowd, past the jeep, and past Vahn.
Indeed, a crowd was gathering because people could instinctively sense a fight and people enjoyed fights.
Past Vahn and over to the blacksmiths stall. She looked around carefully. "Hello?" She called out. "I'm looking for the blacksmith."
