The brown continued to make questioning sounds, leaning further and further into the egg. Making several inquisitive sounds as he poked at the hatchling within. It seemed though that a time soon came when the the dragon in the egg had tolerated enough prodding from its brown brother. Secretary Bird slowly backed out of the egg, though it was soon revealed that this was not because of his own motion. As the brown's head emerged it was quickly followed by another. The Elephant hatchling was forehead to forehead with the brown. The larger bronze dragon forcing the brown to back it up so he could climb out of his egg.
Once the two were clear of the egg and the pair separated their differences became starkly apparent. Where the brown was lean and average for his colour, the bronze was a hulking giant, thick of limb and barrel chested. The bronze also seemed plain in comparison to his smaller brother, with very few markings on his hide Secretary Bird looked very intricate with his dark wings, legs and bold face markings. Fortunately though it seemed that Elephant held no hard feelings for being dragged from his egg a head of time as the pair turned their eyes to the candidates, perhaps they were ready to choose.
It seemed however that Wild Dog was not. The green remained perched on Hennory for a few moments, simply looked at the boy. As she spoke the dragon tilted her head to the side and blinked. Apparently she had missed the humour behind his comment. Leaning her face even close to the boy's the green made a strange high whirring sound in her throat. Whatever this meant there was an echoing cheerful rumble from the gold clutchmother a distance from her. Wild Dog seemed to have decided she had made her point, first bopping her nose against the boy's before darting off. It was then that the green abandoned the boy's entirely, darting instead to the female candidates. It was them she was more interested in.

Zofer
There it was. His favorite confident smirk. He'd known. Of course he had. That enormous egg held an equally enormous bronze. Of course, if you happened to point out that he'd never seen dragon eggs before this clutch he'd just call you a dimglow for doubting him. Zofer knew he was right and the proof was right there in front of him, glowing metallic in the light. He shifted his stance a little wider, folding his arms as he waited for the dragons to make their decisions. His attention couldn't be spared to the green and blue on the sands, and even the brown, as handsomely marked as he was, came in second to the Elephant Bronze.
Jasiline
"Ooooh!" Oh Here she comes! The bronze and brown were cute as they moved forehead to forehead, but she was highly distracted by the bouncy little green who was suddenly among the girls. A quick glance to the boys revealed no bloodshed so Jasiline didn't worry about the green's intentions. She seemed far too chipper to really do any harm anyways.

Ashlyn
Ashlyn couldn't take her eyes off the cuteness of the brown dragon with the one in the huge brown one. When a bronze came out, she managed to look over to the boys and were sure that was where their attention would be focused. She rolled her eyes, thinking typical boys, then returned her attention to the other dragons. She thought the brown was adorable and the black one she could only hope would be alright. She wasn't afraid of him, she more pitied him because he didn't seem to want to be there. Hopefully with the attention on some of his siblings, he would eventually venture out to find his own bonded.
She managed to notice the green heading their way, guessing it had not wanted any of the boys. That must mean that the bonded for the green was a female, though Ashlyn wondered which girl. Who would possibly get to bond with this cheerful little dragon?

Mei
Now the party was really getting started! A bronze had erupted from the large egg, not that it was a surprise. It was one of the biggest in the clutch aside from the good egg, and the Elephant Egg had been a safe bet for a bronze. Of course, just how huge was still surprising. Mei glanced around at her fellow candidates, having heard a few muttered words from the girls around her as the new dragonet emerged. She was eager to se an Impression take place, to know what the act looked like so that she could better understand what may eventually come.
Hennory was back on his feet, and the green heading toward the females. Mei fought to control her breathing, which had turned a touch too rapid and shallow for her liking. Deep breaths. Don't lock the knees⦠Wouldn't do her any good to fall out on the sands; surely she'd never live it down.
Hennory
He'd never have thought it was possible to feel so relieved yet bereft at the same time. The young man let out a long exhale, unaware that he'd been holding it as the green trotted away. His slender fingers came up to touch his nose where the green had bopped him, his gaze lingering on the retreating green for a few moments longer before registering how the gold had rumbled something.. of a laugh? Really, Hennory hadn't realized he was so amusing.. though it had occurred to him that they were laughing -at- him, and not because of his jokes.
Well, his pride would only be stung a little, standing himself back up and dusting sand off of his robes, the action somewhat shaky his nerves. "Well, that could have ended up much, much worse." Who was he even talking to? Perhaps himself.
In afterthought, his gaze drifted back to the main action, trying to take tabs of who had Impressed so far. No one, it seemed, but now there were two new dragons on the sands, and brown and-- By the egg, that was one -huge- bronze. That one would no doubt be heading toward the boys. His glance immediately went to the smug seacrafter boy, who naturally had all eyes for the bronze on the sands. If confidence could win a bronze, Zofer would have few contenders.

Mairin
It seemed her hoping had been for naught and the multi shaded green was not interested in Hennory after all. Then again now it seemed like she just wasn't interested in the boys at all but Mairin wasn't sold on the idea just yet. Maybe this was one of those dragonet's she'd heard about that liked to investigate everyone before making their choice clear. Dragons were complicated creatures and the seacrafter was no where near as familiar with their behavior as she needed to be to suss out exactly what might be going on in the hatchling's mind.
Keeping an eye on the playfull green dragonet Mairin allowed her gaze to shift for a moment over to where the eggs lay, it seemed she'd missed out on quite a bit. The blue from before was missing, replaced now by a fancy looking brown and a massive if plain looking bronze. There was some sort of connection between the two males and again Mairin found herself at a loss. She'd heard some dragonets had favoured clutchsiblings from the moment they hatched but no one had every explained the hows and whys of it to her.
Excitement thrummed in the young girl's veins and Mairin continued to shift about despite the way it caused sand to leak onto her feet in the process. A little hot skin was worth not having to stay completely still as she waited to see who amongst her peers would have the fortune to impress first. Well assuming the dragons didn't do that rare picking from the stands thing.

Ameleia watched the proceedings with her hands lifted to her mouth to cover her giggles, unable to help it. It was just too cute the way that the brown had actually gone into the egg after it's sibling, reappearing completely a short time later followed by a large bronze. Her eyes went wide at that and she gave sound of delight, "Wow, so that big egg was a bronze." She murmured to herself. Of the four eggs that had hatched so far three of them were from eggs that she hadn't had a chance to visit, those being the Secretary Bird, the Elephant, and the Black Mamba, all of which had turned out to be rather beautiful, each and everyone one of them. The way that their scales seemed to glitter reminded her of the jewelry that her friend T'dej used to make when he was still a jewelry crafter. It was something she'd watched him do on many occasions which caused her to think in those sorts of terms. How each hatching reminded her of one stone or another.
Her eyes went from watching the brothers to where the pretty blue dragon had disappeared to, wondering what it was that he might be up to. Maybe laying in wait, looking for his partner from the shadows? She wasn't sure but at the moment she couldn't see him as he was hidden among the unhatched eggs, "Wonder what he is up to." she murmured, lifting up onto her tip toes to try to spoke him. Unable to do so though her attention then went back to the pretty green who had been playing with one of the male candidates from the looks of it, having pounced him, before she wandered away from him.
It would seem as though the game that she was playing was done for now and she was, perhaps, looking for a new partner? Looking from side to side she found herself wondering who it might be that would be pounced next by the sweet, enthusiastic green.

Alara
Bronze! Alara knew she couldn't have the shiny hided male that came from the elephant egg but it didn't matter. Now a dragon from all the main colours was out on the sands. Sure the gold egg hadn't hatched yet but queens weren't a common occurrence in clutches so having a dragonet from each of the more normally seen colours counted. In her mind this might not be a traditional sign but it made the clutch feel lucky to her.
Green eyes flicked between the males and then green dragonet who'd deemed the men unworthy and was fast approaching her and the other female candidates. Alara smiled at the hatchling, she was pretty, friendly and playful, which the young woman approved of. Like with people, dragons came with all types of personalities and like with people she preferred some to others.
It was something that had always niggled at the back of her mind. If she was ever to impress someday would she find a dragon like her or would she be part of one of those opposite matches? Alara honestly wasn't sure what she'd do with a serious faced dragon who was only about hard work, efficiency and stoicism. Work down in the creche had it's hard days but it was never a joyless place. She was more than capable of accomplishing things while still entertaining herself and others. Alara leaned towards the immature side of fence but she wasn't some girl-woman clinging so hard to her childhood that she was useless to the Weyr.

Evzen
Evzen remained near Jakkin, staying quiet once the eggs began to hatch and dragonets made their way out onto the sands and towards the candidates. Across the way he could see Alara and how pleased she seem to be about how things were going. He too was happy that nothing had gone really wrong yet and while none of the dragonets seemed in any rush to impress none had gone between or seriously harmed a candidate either.
The tension on the sands was thick now, especially with several of the other boys seeming intent on getting the attention and approval of the newly hatched bronze. Evzen was curious about him and what had been keeping the large dragonet inside his egg. Was he still making up his mind when the brown lured him out or perhaps he had been waiting for some of the others to make their choices first.
Evzen remained still and quiet, watching the various dragonets, minus the blue who was hiding amongst the eggs. Observing things was second nature to him and while he was still anxious about how this would all turn out he could keep his mind occupied watching the hatchlings. Maybe he would even learn something about the dragons he had failed to have a chance to touch earlier just by observing them.

Lysandor
When there had only been two dragons before there was suddenly four, each one of the primary colors had emerged even if the bronze seemed mildly annoyed at being cornered in its shell by the brown, but over all he felt his face flush slightly. A bronze wouldn't come to him given his sexual preference, even if no one else knew that fact he undoubtedly did. Of course if a bronze did come to him did that mean that his interest in men was...misguided? Or perhaps a bit of his rebellious side (which he would of been greatly surprised to know he had) just going against his uncles wishes.
Either way if a bronze impressed with him he would be very confused about a lot of things, so his attention returned to the brown and the...green which had been with a boy suddenly bonked him on the nose before scurrying off towards the female candidates. Apparently...it liked to play around a bit. Though Hennory seemed relieved, a bonk on the face was better than being mauled or run over Lysandor wondered if a green was really that bad. Sure...most boys wanted the bronzes (at least the ones who qualified for them) but honestly Lysandor was more concerned about impressing before he got too old.
Refocusing he looked for that blue and found it quite hard to spot so his attention was diverted to the brown again.

Kieza was quiet among the candidates, her mind entranced by the display of dragons being born. She was someone who was set into tales of dragons, growing from a toddler on the amazing stories that her father would tell. It excited her more than anything. And besides, she had yet made friends with the other candidates enough for her to actually be included in any social circle.
She found her toes digging around the front of the sandal slightly as she focused on the dragons that were appearing from the eggs. First green, and blue and brown... and another brown! Haha. She smiled excitedly as the green ran toward the female candidates. Clenching her hands into her robes, she reminded herself to stay still and calm.

Tacelon
The excitable green practically climbed up on someone, but Tacelon was grateful it wasn't him. He wasn't sure what he'd do if one tried that on him. She headed off towards the girls though, so he felt safe in ignoring her. Just as well, because there were soon two new dragons on the sands. The blue went off to hide, but a brown soon mad an appearance. The brown didn't seem inclined to look for his rider though, and instead started bugging a larger egg. Tacelon was a bit nervous at that, wondering if the bigger dragonet would be grouchy at being roused by his sibling, and watched the bronze emerge with some trepidation. He was a particularly large fellow, and seemed to have little trouble forcing his brother back. Fortunately, that was all he seemed to want to do to the brown, and after a moment both turned towards the Candidates. Would it be one of them or the green who would Impress first?

As the patchwork green approached the female candidates her motions become more animated, her excitement seeming to grow. By the time she forced her way into the group she was practically bouncing, clumsily bumping into the odd girl here and there. She would have been apologetic, were it not for the fact she was in such a hurry. And oh she was so excited. Wild Dog eagerly pushed through the candidates, chattering quietly to herself, her green hide standing out starkly among all the white. This was more difficult than she thought it would be. Why did they all look the same? From her level all she could see was white and that made hers very hard to find. Where was she? The boy from before had been fun, but he hadn't been for her. Really he did need to lighten up some more, his head was full of far too many upsetting thoughts. Oh, but where was she? Wild Dog let out a small, sad whirr, casting nervous glances around and nudging yet another girl out of way. Wait. Wait, wait, wait! There! Yes, right there she was. The small green hatchling let out a crow of pure elation. My Alara! The green bound forward, barreling into the candidate, pushing as close to her as she could. My Alara, there you are! Your Lypith had such a hard time finding you. I have now though and we can play! The dragon wiggled with excitement. She had found her chosen, her wonderful clever Alara. Did she have a trick for her Lypith?

Emora was quick to get out of the way of the Wild Dog dragon not wanting to be run over in the hatchlings excitement and she bumbled and bumped through the girls. It was rather clear she was obviously looking for someone though that someone was not her.
That much became clear when the little green's eyes flashed the rainbow of impression and even she couldn't help, but lend her congratulations. "I wish you two luck. Rider." Emora spoke adding on the girls new title with a small perhaps kinder smile then she would usually give as she moved out of the way to allow the pair to pass.

Kieza found her eyes widening as the green ran toward the girl candidates. She found her heart pounding loudly as the little dragonet bumbled toward them on wiry, gangly legs. What a vibrant little creature it was.
And then the green was past her, bumping her shins as she passed. Kieza watched in rapt fascination as the green dragon chose who it would bond to for life. Amazing! "Congrats to you both, and may the sun warm both of you when you are flying in the skies."

Alara grinned as she felt a mind touch hers, one not exactly the same but similar enough that they fit together easily.
"I should be offended you thought I might be a boy," she teased and she reached down to stroke the neck of her perfect little green. Somewhere around her were congratulations but Alara had eyes and ears only for Lypith
You all look the same Lypith countered as she wiggled in happiness , content to have at last found her match.
"You need your eyes checked."
No I need to have my stomach filled
Alara rolled her eyes and began to lead Lypith away and towards the feeding tables. "I hope you like little kids." she might be a weyrling now and destined to be a rider but not for all the precious green dragons meant just for her could Alara give up her her friends and audience in the creche
Lypith gave a cheery whistle at the mention of children as she pulled the images from her rider's mind. Oh! Yes mine, they will be fun and play with us and you will teach me how to to make them laugh and smile too. Lypith would enjoy having fun with the little ones and she would be oh so gentle with them when she herself was big and strong as she knew she would become.
Of course there were more things in the world than just that to do and see but those could wait, only until her belly was full of meat though, when that was done it would be time for even more fun. Lypith was not a dragon that came with an off button, she went full throttle until she burnt out and slept to recuperate
Thinking of younger children Alara remembered to turn briefly and wave to Evzen before her attention was taken up by the taken of feeding a hungry dragon. It had been many standings before Lypith had appeared for her, would he need to wait so long before he found his own partner, if he found his own. "Ly-"
I don't know mine, my clutchsibs have kept that a secret Lypith did not know if the boy would be chosen today, she knew only that Hers had been on the sand and that was what mattered. Well that and the fact that there was not nearly enough meat being shoved into her jaws.
