Kadaj looked quietly at his Pokémon for a moment, thinking about what he should to get it to wake up, but naturally nothing came to him. As his journey went on, Kadaj was beginning to realize how ‘not brilliant’ he was turning out to be. He lost his first battle, well, that was pretty the only thing that made him feel like an idiot. At least he got to meet some awesome and cute guy named Chad. If only he was gay, if only. Kadaj sighed and shook his head in disappointment. This journey was going to turn into something a bit torturous if he couldn’t even touch Chad, but then again, he only touched those he felt really close to, so Kadaj wasn’t too saddened by that prospect. Who knew that not being a touchy kind of person would be a blessing in disguise? Kadaj certainly didn’t, but he also didn’t see the point in questioning that. “You don’t have to wait with me dude. I appreciate it, but really, you don’t have to do that.” Kadaj smiled and quickly turned his face from Chad, not wanting to appear too hard-headed at this point. Why was Chad waiting with him? It’s not like he was that interested in was Kadaj was doing, and the only thing Kadaj waited for was people he had a crush on. Was it possible that Chad liked him more than he was letting on? Probably not, but it was still a fun thing to think about, considering the fact that the longer they spent time together, the more Kadaj was really beginning to crush all over Chad, the way he laughed, the way his room looked. Kadaj shook his head, trying to get the images of Chad out of his mind because nothing would become of them, it was that simple. Besides, Chad didn’t even act gay, there was no way he could turn out to be gay or anything like that. There were definitely no ‘ifs’ ‘ands’ or ‘buts’ about it. “Your father huh? I didn’t know you had a dad, but then again, what do I know. We haven’t exactly talked about our pasts now have we.” Kadaj smiled, not wanting to let on that he did actually care about what Chad had to say, but since they were sitting here waiting for Poochyena, Kadaj decided to start talking about himself as vaguely as possible, “I was born in a completely different region but I-“ Kadaj was interrupted by a shifting coming from the bed. It seemed like Poochyena had finally woken up and with a loud yawn, it sat lazily on the bed and stared up at both Chad and Kadaj. “Oh hey little dude! You’re finally awake.” Kadaj reluctantly put his hand out to pet Poochyena. He was still slightly worried that he would bite, but surprisingly enough, Poochyena chose not to. Instead, he allowed Kadaj to pet him and only made small rumbling noises as Kadaj got too close to the Poochyena’s snout. “I guess that battle did something for us, huh little dude?”

Chad turned around and looked at his blank computer screen, a bit unsure as to whether he should keep talking or not. He’d already done himself in he knew when he mentioned his father. If Kadaj was anything like he suspected, he’d probably want to know a little bit more about the old man which Chad couldn’t talk about without shedding a tear or two. As tough as he seemed, Chad had a soft spot for his beloved father. He didn’t know how his mother was doing, nor did he care since the divorce, so his father was his only person of interest growing up. It was just hard bringing him up in a conversation because every time he did, Chad remembered how helpless he felt watching his father die so slowly because of the cancer he’d been cursed with. Chad wasn’t a very religious person, but he sometimes asked god why he would take such a wonderful man from this earth, it just wasn’t fair. “No, I guess we haven’t talked about our pasts.” Chad was suddenly in no mood for small talk, even if it was for the sake of getting Kadaj through this rough time, but luckily, it seemed like Kadaj was the one who wanted to talk about his past, so Chad sighed in relief because he knew he’d be better at listening then speaking. The story didn’t last long though before Poochyena started waking up. Quickly, Chad spun his chair around so that he could watch the Poochyena and see what it would do next. It appeared as though the Pokémon was a bit calmer than it had been earlier when it was fighting Nincada, but then again, maybe it was still just waking up. Chad didn’t want to give it the chance to get a surprise attack in, so he kept his guard up, at least up until Kadaj started petting his Pokémon, then he let his guard down a little in relief. He smiled warmly to himself as Kadaj whispered to his Pokémon, it was really nice to see the two getting along, but then again, Chad didn’t know how they acted outside of that battle they had. If he had to guess though, he would say that Poochyena was a bit feistier than it was now. “Nice to see the two of you getting along so well. I would bring out Nincada, but I don’t think it would mingle so well with you two right now, not after that battle anyways.” Chad stood up and walked over to the doorway before turning back to Kadaj with a smile on his face. “We still need to get through the route to the next city. We should probably leave now if we want to get there before into it turns into night. I would really hate to stay in this town another night.” Chad looked at the wooded floor for a moment in a depressed state before snapping back to reality. “I’ll give you two a couple more minutes alone, I’ll be by the door.” Chad waved to the two of them before walking down the hall and through the entrance of the house.

Kadaj turned to Chad who had managed to spin his around for the awakening of Poochyena. It seemed like he was just as eager to see him wake up as Kadaj was, which was both making Kadaj jealous and grateful at the same time. He really didn’t like the feeling because it made him confused and annoyed. Anything that he couldn’t describe made him greatly flustered, but then again, that’s how most people were when it came to these types of situations. “Ha-Ha, yeah he’s finally awake and no offense, but Nincada’s not really a good idea.” Kadaj could practically feel Poochyena’s heartbeat picking up pace, most probably because of the idea of Nincada showing up to ruin the party, or at least doing something that Poochyena would bite or rather, tackle at. Still it was nice getting to see Poochyena calm and tranquil like this. Kadaj could honestly say he’d never even knew Poochyena could act like this, maybe it was because it had just woken up though and was still trying to gather its thoughts. “Alright dude, I’ll meet you at the door in a minute.” Kadaj nodded to Chad who walked away, most likely because he wanted to give Kadaj and his Pokémon some alone time, but there was nothing that Kadaj would do in front of his Pokémon that he wouldn’t do in front of Chad at this point. Maybe he was just getting too comfortable with Chad and he didn’t realize it yet. However, to make it seem like that was the case, Kadaj sat in front of Poochyena for a little while, racking his brain for things to say that would make sense, but nothing seemed to show up in his brain. “Uh, I’m happy you’re healthy now little dude. Next time we fight there we’re definitely going to win okay?” Poochyena didn’t do anything to respond to Kadaj’s uplifting words. Instead, it merely nodded and trotted to the edge of the bed before hoping off without a single sound. “Are you okay little man?” Poochyena looked up to Kadaj and slowly nodded, almost as though nodding took energy out of him. This made Kadaj slightly worried, but he didn’t want to say anything to Chad that might make him rethink leaving town today. Instead, Kadaj decided that maybe what Poochyena needed was a little fresh air, so he left Poochyena outside of the poke-ball and walked to the door where Chad was waiting for the two of them. Poochyena followed closely behind like a well-behaved Pokémon, not making a single sound as he did so which seemed strangely out of character for the feisty little animal. “Alright then, I’ll just follow you dude.” Kadaj looked at Chad and nodded his head before putting both of his hands in his pockets. At this point he didn’t know how he was supposed to be acting because Poochyena was acting so strangely, but maybe it was just his way of realizing that he’d lost a battle and that he’d need to obey his trainer’s commands more thoroughly.

Chad smiled as Kadaj made his way to the front of the house. It seemed like a big wave had been lifted off of Chad, even though that Poochyena wasn’t even his. Perhaps this was the bond that all trainers shared. Even though they were against each other and rivals, they still looked out for one another and worked as a team to get things done. Chad shrugged off this little theory he’d only just come up with and decided to refocus himself onto the task now at hand which was getting through their first route. That wouldn’t be too much of a problem since Chad had an ally now, one he considered rather trustworthy, even if he was a little vein and only cared about himself and maybe his Pokémon, but that was debatable. Chad walked out of his home and would wait for Kadaj to come out as well before he locked the door and set his sights to the end of Willowcove where the route began. Naturally, there would probably be a bunch of baby Pokémon that they could try and catch to build up on their team, and since they weren’t raised in captivity, they would present more of a challenge in terms of being obtained. Chad stepped down the sidewalk, waiting for Kadaj to follow behind. Since Poochyena was out of its pokeball, Chad decided it would probably be best to keep Nincada in its pokeball since Chad didn’t know how the two would be able to handle each other. He’d noticed that Poochyena was acting rather slow compared to how it had acted earlier when they were battling, but then again, Poochyena wasn’t Chad’s Pokémon, so he couldn’t be exactly sure if this was how it acted on a regular basis. With nothing better to do while passing the time as they walked to the gates of the town, Chad decided to talk about small things such as goals as a trainer. “Alright then, so we’re both trainers, I’d figured that from the way you fought compared to the girl with a Sewaddle.” Chad recalled a fight earlier that involved a Sewaddle and Scyther. He could tell from how the Sewaddle used string shot that it was more for appeal that it was in terms of effectiveness. “So are you planning on going all the way to the elite four with this thing?” Chad pointed to the Poochyena and smiled after he did so. “I heard Ninjask are one of the fastest Pokémon out there. I think we’re going to make it pretty far.” Chad then shrugged as though he didn’t have much else to say other than what was just said. “We should probably catch a Pokémon on the first route, but I don’t know yet. I think that would be a good idea.” Chad smiled warmly but didn’t look at Kadaj as he spoke. He found it much easier to think about what to say next when he wasn’t looking at the person he was talking to. It was almost like he was talking to himself sometimes.

Once at the door, Kadaj realized that it would be time to follow and not get to bask in the glory of Chad’s really nice house. ‘Tch, it’s such a nice house. I’m kind of not feelin’ alright thinking about how much easier his life was then mine, and he won the Pokémon battle against me.’ Kadaj rolled his eyes but made sure that Chad didn’t see him do so. True, he was down in the dumps right now, having a moment where life just wasn’t treating him too fairly, but he didn’t want to let that get him down, at least not right now anyways. What he needed to do was go with Chad and hope that maybe there would be an opportunity where he could find out more about Chad’s past. It just wasn’t fair knowing that Chad got to live in this nice house and all Kadaj was stuck with was a shabby apartment right after he got out of the orphanage. He didn’t dare share the tale of his orphanage and his past because it was something Kadaj didn’t need sympathy for because he knew that it would end up being his back-bone, his support and excuse for when he did something bad. Kadaj listened with intent to analyze and dissect everything that Chad was saying and about to say because if any of it had to do with his past, then maybe there would be an undertone of sadness that Kadaj could exploit for his own personal gain. “I actually thought about being a coordinator once; I mean I do have the potential because I have an awesome ability to pick out what’s good and what’s not so hot.” Kadaj pointed to himself, “I mean, clearly I look good. There ain’t nothing more perfect that I and an awesome Pokémon on stage together.” Kadaj laughed and continued upon hearing what else Chad had to say, mainly about the concept of going far in this journey. “Hey buddy, I’m in it to win it. There isn’t any way that’d I’d think about giving up. I’m going to make myself the champion, earn a couple admirers along the way, and then live happy for the rest of my life.” Kadaj had his life dream down to a science at this point. He’d had plenty of time to day dream about his future while attending the Academy. “You can catch a Pokémon if you want to dude, for me, I’m just going to focus on making my little dude here as happy as I possibly can.” Kadaj pointed to his Poochyena who still seemed to be dragging itself down the street in the same direction that Kadaj was walking. “Man, he’s acting kind of strange today. I hope there’s nothing else wrong with him.” Kadaj thought for a moment before speaking again, “So what about you dude? You have any plans after this is all said and done? You look like the kind of guy that has a thing up his sleeve.”

Chad was approaching the entrance of the village, although he was a bit reluctant to walk faster. On one hand, he’d be closer to freedom and being away from all the memories he’d created with his father here, but on the other hand, he’d be getting rid of everything he’d known and loved. It just kind of seemed like anything Chad would do at this point could potentially be a mistake in the future. However, there was something inside of him that kept telling him that he should probably just go since he wouldn’t be in the alone. No, he would have Kadaj and all his flaws that made him rather interesting. Chad would be lying though if he said he didn’t imagine strangling him once or twice. Already though they’d been through a lot, well, maybe not so much now that Chad thought about it. They would be creating a lot of memories together though along the way and the last thing Chad wanted to do was bail out and make himself look like a total loser in front of Kadaj. Chad silently listened as Kadaj spoke about himself and what he planned on doing with his life. It was pretty interesting listening to the rabble that Kadaj spat out as he spoke about himself and all these perfect plans that would come into the reality of things, so long as he became a trainer and somehow became strong enough to take out all the gyms, the elite four, and then the ultimate champion. Chad honestly didn’t have such high-rolling plans. “My plans are to just get through this thing alive and happy. I want to settle down once I’m done with this journey, maybe raise a family or something, I honestly don’t know at this point, but if I had to guess as to where my road would take me, I’d say it’d probably take me straight back here at the end of it all.” Chad turned to look at Kadaj only after he had finished speaking. As usual, he stared off into space as he spoke the first time because he didn’t like basking in his well-prepared speech. He always seemed to be the kind of guy that rehearsed these things though because everything came out so smooth. “I don’t really have any back-up plans though if things don’t work out. I mean, I could just stay at my house I live in now, but the whole point of this journey is to get away from that.” Chad bit his lips, forcing himself not to suggest that Kadaj could move into his home if things didn’t work out because Chad would probably end up going crazy living with a guy who fell in love with the mirror all the time. The two wouldn’t probably mesh at all if living in the same place. Kadaj was pushing the envelope by just going on a journey with Chad. Although Chad was the one who asked in the first place. “I know, my story isn’t so awesome. By the way, you never really told me anything about your past. Where did you come from?”

Tobren paused watched the two guys walk away, then slowly looked down to Necros. The youth pressed his full lips together and practically stormed back to his sister, well he didn't expect the blond to be such a...a...
Myridia smiled at Becca's kindness, "You know your way around berries. My family is all about Gardens, Pokemon Care and Breeding so..."
"BLASTOISE!!!" Tobren's outcry caught her attention.
The elder whirled around and leveled a glare to her younger brother, "Tobren Alexander Burrows!! What in the world gives you the right to use such language?!?"
Tobren froze...he knew that by using their parents Cussing-system he was in deep with his sister, like knee deep and sinking fast. He looked down at his feet and shuffled a bit, "He was..."
Myridia sighed, "Excuse me, Becca. What exactly happened?"
Tobren grumbled, "A Poocheyena really suits the blond..."
Razz looked to Necros, "Scy...?" The smaller Pokemon nodded, "Shuu..." Razz looked worried at what Necros confirmed, apparently the meeting didn't end well and the poor kid was ready to cry.
Myridia nodded, "I see...well, it was a matter of pride...and you don't interact well with those sorts..."
Tobren pouted. Sure it was weird and all, but back in Sinnoh everyone knew the Burrows family wouldn't let you down...that was it. He fooled himself into thinking this place would as warm as Sinnoh, it wasn't. He already screwed up making friends and he hadn't even spent his first night away from his Home Region yet...
"Mimi...can we just go on to the next City? There's only one route out of here..." He knew that he sounded like a child, but really he was starting to doubt ever coming here.

"Wow, Pokemon care you say? That sounds so interesting." "The only reason why I know is because I read about them in sch.." The boy blurted something about a blastoise. Blastoise? Becca thought. What does that have to do with anything.
Myridia scolded the boy, in that instant Becca understood. They are siblings, makes sense. The boy called Tobren began to explain about the blond trainer from before. Rebecca pouted a little. She saw a small blackish ghost pokemon near him.Oh so his partner's a shuppet, how interesting... Becca was so deep in her thoughts that when Myridia had asked her the question she jumped.
"Oh..oh well sure. That sounds nice if you don't mind me joining." She smiled at her possible new friends. Her Sewaddle seemed happy to travel with the strong scyther she had fought. "Waddle" "Hmm..seems like Chic likes the idea too." Rebecca said happily.

Tobren smiled brightly, his usual self jumping at the chance for a friend. Myridia started the walk towards the Route leading to Vormund City.
Myridia smiled at the young girl, "If you don't mind me asking, Becca how old are you?"
Razz nuzzled Necros as the smaller Pokemon gave a worried look to its Trainer, "Shuu..." Razz allowed the smaller one to ride its shoulder, "Scy...ther..." it cooed trying to comfort its smaller companion as Myridia placed a gentle hand on Tobren's shoulder.
Tobren patted it before looking to the newcomer "So...Mimi called you Becca, but introductions are always fun. I'm Tobren...you can just call me Toby. Two people already got that wrong..."
Myridia lightly tapped her forehead, "That's a big irritation point with him...many people call him Torben, a common mispronunciation of his name."Location: Willowcove City || Team: Scyther Razz Lvl.04 Shuppet Necros Lvl.01

Kadaj snickered at the plans that Chad seemed like he was going to be partaking in. They were so strange compared to Kadaj’s really ‘realistic’ plans that he expected to get him far in his journey. Kadaj needed something to keep himself going though, so he imagined that the best kind of plans were the ones that seemed almost impossible to reach, that way he’d always be striving to get to that point. “Well, I’ll let you do that dude, for me, I’m more of a go-getter but then again, getting anything with a face like mine shouldn’t be hard at all.” Kadaj laughed and decided to turn to his Poochyena to see how he was taking the information. It didn’t seem like he cared though by the way Poochyena just stared at Kadaj, almost as if he were waiting for him to say something a little bit more interesting. “Geesh, tough crowd.”
Kadaj didn’t really want to talk about his past, but since he was going to be with Chad a lot more often, he decided to keep it simple for simplicity sake and to obviously avoid any more questions than he could handle. “Oh, I was an orphan.” Kadaj ended it there, no more, no less. He didn’t really like talking about himself, especially when it came to where he came from because it just made him feel like less of a man knowing that he never had a mother or a father, almost as though he were an outcast.

It was apparent by the way Kadaj answered his question about the orphan situation that he didn’t really want to talk about it, which in all honesty Chad could understand and respect. If anything, he kept a few secrets of his own because he wasn’t a big fan of revealing all his truths as well. “An orphan huh?” Chad’s voice drifted as he looked around. They were still a little further from the village entrance than they had planned for at this point in time, but Chad didn’t really mind it. He was kind of enjoying the time he got to spend talking to Kadaj about his life. He’d never met an orphan before, well, one that he’d be spending the coming months with anyways. It could be an awesome experience in the end. “Awesome, okay.” Chad took in a breath before deciding to say a little bit more about himself, “I had a father but not a mother. She kind of went off the deep end and we had to pack up and move.” Chad shrugged and looked down at the Poochyena, somewhat relieved to notice that Kadaj had acknowledged that his Poochyena was acting somewhat strange. “So do you really think that you’re that good looking to where you have to mention it every five minutes, or do you just like annoying other people with that kind of stuff?” Chad laughed, feeling a bit more comfortable with asking the questions that he might not like the answers to since after all, they would be travelling together.

With the more basic life stories out of the way, Kadaj felt like he was no longer in the red and didn’t worry about what could come out of Chad’s mouth next. Clearly Chad understood that Kadaj wasn’t comfortable talking about that part of his life, but what was strange was that Chad had mentioned a mother and a father. Call it strange, but Kadaj never pictured as Chad as the kind of guy who cared about having a mother or father and if anything, Kadaj didn’t even see Chad having one. Chad seemed like a grown adult in Kadaj’s mind so it was hard to picture him with a family watching over his every move or something like that. “Ha! I couldn’t picture you as the kind of kid that cried to his mommy about things; kind of fun to imagine to be honest!” Kadaj laughed as he teased Chad playfully about these things and was kind of stumped whenever he heard Chad mention the question about why basically, Kadaj was conceited. He’d always been this way, but if he had to give a reason why, he could try and supply one. “I’ve been like this because I guess it’s fun to see the reaction people give me whenever they find out that I’m talking so highly about myself! Keh-heh! You should’ve seen your face that first time, you seemed so angry. That’s how I know you have some issues of your own. People don’t get so affected by my happiness unless they’re miserable with their own life.”

There was some sense to be made from what Kadaj had just said. When it came down to it, there shouldn’t have been a reason for Chad to be angry with what Kadaj was saying. Chad liked his own body and it wasn’t that he was jealous of Kadaj because he had a nice body, but because he seemed so happy and care-free. Chad was envious of the way Kadaj could carry himself so highly and not have a single care in the world about what else was going on, but now that Chad knew Kadaj was an orphan, he wasn’t sure if Kadaj was even luckier or just more cursed. It’s true that he’d never have the love of parents, but he’d never have the woe of losing them either like Chad had lost his father. “I guess I never thought of it that way. I guess I underestimated you.” Chad smiled and then shook his head in slight disbelief for the sucker he’d become. “Well, could you stop doing that around me? I do have some of my own issues and I don’t need a reminder that you look good every five minutes.” Chad followed Kadaj’s laugh with a laugh of his own that was aimed at the same subject. Chad had finally realized that Kadaj seemed to be a nicer guy than he was letting on, but the fact that Kadaj didn’t do anything to make himself kinder was still a fact on all its own. Maybe though, just maybe, Chad would be able to make Kadaj’s true colors come out over the course of their journey together.

Myridia smiled brightly, "I'm 26 years old, myself and yes...our Father is a well established Breeder in Sinnoh as well as the other regions, our Mother is a renowned Gardner. Besides me there are seven other daughters, the eldest is married with twin girls of her own. The youngest has just started out on her Adventure, when we get to a Pokemon Center I'll have to call my parents to check in with them...Well, Toby will more so than me." She cast a look to her younger brother.
Toby winced, "Its not my fault I'm the only Son in the family...and I'm 18."
Myridia looked at her brother, "I'm telling Mother what you said..."
Toby went wide eyed and stared at his sister, "NO! I don't want Mom lectureing me in front of a new friend! That's so not cool, Mimi!"
Myridia wasn't fazed. "Then watch your mouth."
