Skyelar removed her sword and pushed him into the clearing. She said nothing now, happy she hadn't needed to harm him.

Logan had his bow in his hand and a arrow ready to be pulled back, but he didn't have his bow pulled up. "Who are you?" He asked as he moved his eyes around checking for others.

'My name's Noel. I'm on a quest that's leading me through this forest. Not many people out here, and both of you are armed, so it's understandable that I chose to observe rather than walk out and introduce myself, right? And like I said, I didn't mean either of you any harm, so how about I just leave and don't bother you anymore?'
Noel really hoped it would go this way, but if they took him prisoner he'd be going in the right direction anyway. And if they chose to kill him ... well, he was sure he could take one of them down with him.

Logan couldn't help his laughter. "Well. It seems that I am not the only one seeking a way through this forest." He was quiet for a moment or two as he thought about what would lead him through the forest. He asked "So you seek to become the next champion?" He knew there would be others seeking the honor, but he believed that the difficulties ahead would keep most away.

The elf woman's greeting surprised Noel. It took him a moment to remember that she didn't speak human, and was simply repeating the one phrase she knew from her earlier conversation.
'Oh. Hi ... Skyelar, right?'
As for Logan, it was as Noel had feared. So early in his journey and already a rival warrior stood in his way. He was no good at lying, and saw little point in hiding the truth.
'That's right, I'm gonna be the next champion. I can guess that's why you're here, too. Hmm, this is troubling.' He started to pace around the clearing, taking slow steps and never wandering too far from his captors.
'I can think of a few solutions, though. One: you two kill me to get rid of the competition. Not very honorable, and I won't go easily. Two: you and I have a duel here and now to settle this quickly. The honorable way to do things, but only if you're prepared to die. Or three: we all work together and move forward. We'll make better progress, and just hope the other dies along the way.' Noel thought it was a fine proposition, though in retrospect, his constant friendly smile may have been out of place.

Logan couldn't help the smile on his face as Noel spoke. He said "You speak quite well, even when there are people around that could kill you. But I do not believe that either of us will die along the way unless facing another warrior seeking the same as us. I say that we work together to get through this and let the last part of the quest truly chose the champion." He believed that apart they both could make it there, but together they would make much better time, and it would be easier.

Noel had to admit that Logan's idea was best. He did not personally believe in any of that destiny stuff that mystics spouted, and he highly doubted a 'true' champion would be chosen. He was sure that they would have to face each other eventually. But this course of action meant that that confrontation could be put off for as long as possible.
He gave a small nod. 'Alright then.'
He then turned to Skyelar. 'What about you? It's gonna be tough out there, not to mention confusing if we can't even understand each other.'

Aria soon got back to her house, it wasn't too far away from where she had gone
before. She set her newly acquired herbs on the table, and set her hat on a rack
near it. "How odd, most elves like me too." she said recalling the elf
who had run when she had tried to talk her her, but thinking back she had spoken
the language of man to her, she might not have really known it. But then why was
she so close to the forests edge? These thoughts just came one by one filling
her mind with useless thoughts on the past. 'Maybe next time I see her I'll speak
Elvish.....' she thought crushing up some of the herbs she got for some medicine.
After a while of this she had some new stuff to sell to the near by towns people.
There was a short snap of a twig man hanging from her wall, which startled her
as she was putting it in her bag. The twig man was to signal any Humans who
had walked this far into the woods. The little stick man fell to the ground, she
glared at it for a moment then grabbed her broom, it must have been that guy
from before. She went slowly out the door of her small cabin to find the intruder.

He pointed deeper into the forest and, saying each word slowly, asked her, 'You lead the way?'

"I believe she will lead the way, but not before we get whoever else is around to show themselves." Logan said loud enough to be heard. He figured that there was another, the bushes would make for a good cover. The turned to face the bushes. "So who is still hiding?" He asked as he kept ready, he wasn't expecting anyone to answer. Although he figured that they would show themselves.

Noel had almost forgotten the dark-clothed man hiding in the bushes. 'He seems pretty intent on staying out of sight,' he said. 'We could just leave him. I mean, he's not a threat to us. We know he's there so a surprise attack is impossible, and there's three of us and only one of him. Well, unless it's two small guys huddled together. Haha ...'

Skyelar sighed then motioned for them to follow her. She wanted to reach a safe place before dusk fell. She did not like the night in the forest.
