cre8ive_ovadose 5/6/2012 Well I've signed up for Camp NaNoWriMo so that I can get the last Delarvai novel finished smile All year I've been struggling to focus because of school and trying to finish my Queen's Scout but writing is what is important to me and it should have always been one of my top priorities. I also need something to keep me occupied for the next few days, going to see a neurologist tomorrow about my back, been having some problems. Here's hoping all is well, I've got my friend's St Michael's pendant so hopefully between that, "Here's Hope" by Owl City and sheer luck everything'll be okay smile Hope everyone else is well and if you want to add me on Camp NaNo (or normal NaNo) my user is lady_of_sorrows heart -Em xoxox Sweeet I will add you! Hope your back is ok. I have been having problems because my neck is far forward and that hurt the spine. Sending hope your way!

Writing day today smile Should be studying for my biology exam on Tuesday but writing is my priority at the moment. I can study for bio later =P
Oh, and my little report on meeting with the neurosurgeon (not neurologist). I will have to have surgery to remove a small piece of bone in my back which will hopefully give my spinal cord room to move. Fun, huh? It's gotta happen sooner rather than later but we'll find out how soon sometime around Wednesday. Thanks for the kind words guys heart -Em xoxox

Ended up studying for bio for half an hour yesterday sweatdrop But I had the exam this morning and feel I did alright so that's the main thing biggrin
Writing for the rest of the day and trying not to let the repetitive grammar/typing mistakes get to me. Struggling to plot at the moment but I've got a few more chapters planned so I'm not stumped =P
Don't have much to do until Monday now so writing shall be-eth the focus ... -eth wink

I've been a busy bee the past few days smile Have gotten about 4,000 words done since ... Tuesday, perhaps? Not sure. The plots working itself out pretty easily and I'm enjoying it so no qualms there.
Came up with yet another idea this afternoon after I finished the test - thank god I was allowed to take home the answer book because that's what I wrote it down in hahaha
Anyway, I'd better get back to the writing, I've got a busy weekend so I'll need lots of words to pour out of me tonight and tomorrow to cover Saturday and Sunday.

I'm thinking I might link all of the Delarvai stories together to form one novel in three sections (like the original print of Lord of the Rings or how Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is printed (though not as a trilogy in 4 parts hahaha)). I met with my friend Lauren the other day who I met through NaNo and we were talking about how 50,000 words wasn't generally enough to submit to publishers.
I know there's no way I could flesh out each of the stories to 70,000 or 80,000 words but I have to have Delarand and Skirvai's story told.
What are you guys' thoughts on it? Yay, nay?

30 days. I'm giving myself 30 days to finish My Amethyst Tattoo.
The neurosurgeon got back to us and let us know that I'll be going in for surgery within the next month. We're waiting on an actual date.
30 days though. 30 days to pump out the rest of this novel.
And then when I'm well enough, I'll edit the three together into one novel, in 3 parts.
1 day down. 29 to go.

Finished the battle for My Amethyst Tattoo today. Now the recovery and the resolution then I should be done. Not going to be finished by the 30th for Camp NaNo but I don't mind. After I've finished this I need to sort the three stories out and put them together as one book split into three parts. It'll be tough but it's worth it and I'm glad to do it.
If I'm honest with myself, I feel blessed to be writing this storyline. I feel blessed to have the ability to work with such wonderful characters and to feel like somehow they're the cure to everything. I'm not a happy person but when I'm writing or planning or even just thinking, I couldn't be happier. I've never struggled with these stories and that makes them beautiful to me.
This was like a therapy for me when I started and it still is. I was so alone, and I owe this story my life because if I didn't have this, I wouldn't be here. My promise was to see these stories finished and published and I'd go from there. It's not the end yet but I think maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to keep going once it's done. And that gives me hope.

Well, I've run out of plot for My Amethyst Tattoo so I've started a new project that I thought up last night smile I'll attach a synopsis/blurb to the OP of this journal for those interested smile

Got my Endeavour Award for writing Scarring the Beautiful Ones on Monday biggrin And approved by the district council last night along with my Venturer Award.
Have been working on Finding Ricky Middleston a little but between school and scouts, I haven't had much time. Still need to plot more of My Amethyst Tattoo as well but I'm on break starting Friday so I'll get some stuff done then.
Haven't got a surgery date yet, the waiting's beginning to bug me and it's upsetting my anxiety too :/ No fun...

So many projects, so little time. I think I need to re-evaluate my writing priorities. Delarvai and this new one I'm working on - a rewrite of a story I've been working with since 2008.
It's gonna be messy...

I haven't written anything - and I mean anything - for a while now. I'm trying to work on a one shot right now but it's taking time.
I have a date for my surgery so I'll be pretty absent for about two weeks after the 16th August. Being totally screwed around by school which is always fun. Have basically been told that I shouldn't look too much into universities now because I probably won't pass this year because I'll have to have 5 weeks off to recover. God forbid I do my school work at home while I'm recovering, because it's totally different to just doing run of the mill homework rolleyes
Ideally, I would like to finish writing My Amethyst Tattoo before I have the surgery so that when I'm ready to write again (which may be sooner rather than later, depending on the outcome of this school stuff) I can jump straight into putting the three novels together. It's going to be a long process - the surgery and the writing - but it will be worth it.
I hope everyone else is keeping up with their goals. God knows I haven't sweatdrop And I hope you're all doing okay in good ole life as well heart -Em xoxox

So I've started writing My Amethyst Tattoo for the second Camp NaNo sesh and I'm enjoying it so far. Have come up with a few things to chuck in the ending and am working on a plot for a possible sequel. Nothing's written down yet but the idea is really intriguing me. I'll let you know how it turns out smile
School's mostly been sorted out as well but not sure yet. I'm mainly gonna focus on just getting MAT finished before the surgery though so that when I get back on my feet I can rework the three Delarvai novels and start work on the sequel smile I've got my work cut out for me.
