Del lay on the floor of her room calmly carving her name into the frame of her bed. It wasn't easy and her body liked to go numb if she layed in one position too long, still it was fun. There was also a bit of pride in lookign at the finished product seeing the stubborn letters forced into the wood.

Del's father knew about this and allowed it, after all the bed belonged to her and it was hers to brand as she willed. It was as he had said a part of growing up and a typical childhood act. Del didn't know about all that, all she knew is that she liked to do it. She didn't damage anything else in her room just the bedframe writing interesting quotes and now her name on it. Leaving her mark upon the world in a small way.

Dear diary

Guess what daddy's friend miss Talon is getting a tailor to make me my halloween costume. I get to be my very oun sailor scout that I made up myself. And I get to go trick- or treating with miss Talon's kids becuase our house is having a big party for the ghosts of the past kids and I'd feel really wierd there and I want to go out for candy anyways.

Del laid on her bed thinking, a lot had happened in the last little while and she wanted to take some time and just think about it before cramping up her hand by writing it all in her journal. Not that she didn't love her journal it was just that lots of writing made her hand hurt.

Well first things first, Kishi had grown and was now the same age as del. This had been a bit of a shock but also a good thing since Kishi'd been in some sort of odd coma for a day before hand. It was neat though becuase while she talked better and was smarter a bit she didn't automatically know how to do stuff like read and write properly so Del got to teach her. She was in her own opinion a pretty good teacher, after all she'd been helping Kishi learn to swim beforehand.

Then there had been Halloween where she'd gone trick or treating and gotten tons of candy. It had been fun playing with Talon's children and awesome being a sailor scout, she'd sparkled and glittered and made all sorts of funny poses up that made the candy givers laugh. It was all fun and games for now but someday she would be a superhero with her dragon, she just needed to get a magic power first.

Perhaps it was the warm cookies she'd just eaten or perhaps it was lying on the comfy bed but for some reason Del could no longer keep her eyes open and her mind was growing foggy. It took but a minute for the super hero in waiting to drift off to sleep.

Re: Delphinidae

To whom it may concern this is Del's guardian sending you some notes on her I think may be of importance or at least worthy of noting. Del is very easily obsessive and while this seems childlike and harmless at the moment I will elt you know if this becomes a problem. , she's dead set on learning to fight, wearing rather odd brightly coloured clothes and attempting to do good deeds ( not so bad) while trying to discover super powers and what sort of hero she'll be.

physically she's lost the purple tipped hair and taken to wearing her hair in a simple braid reaching mid back.

That's all for now.

Dear diary:

Today my dragon Echo hatched and I got to take him home. He's a Bronze dragon but yellow right now becuase he's just little. Still he's bigger than any of the other animals in the house and he's smart for just being little, right now he's watching me write in you with a curious look in his eyes.

His name is Echo becuase he makes a clicky noise like my echolocation. I asked if he liked the name and he agreed so he's offically Echo. Echo sounds like a good sidekick name right?

Anyways I'm sleepy so I'm going to bed now. I'll write in you again soon.

Fishing and aquagirl.

"Now Echo just remember don't move the rod till you see the bobber go under then pull back and forth and crank the reel" Del lectured her dragon . She was well aware that Echo knew how to fish normally but this was fishing with poles and so it was different.

The fact that Echo could use a pole was interesting though not quiet as it seemed. Echo could hold the pole and swipe a calw at the reel to wind or unwind it. Del was required to bait the hook and cast the line.

The pair had been sitting out at the surprisingly unfrozen the lake for an hour and hadn't caught a thing. Fish could be tricky creatures though and neither fisher was ready to give up. If things kept on in a bad way though they might risk the chilly waters to hunt in a way for suitable for them. Not that Del had any intention of biting a fish or swallowing one raw.

(mini ufo crashes, Del and Echo swim to the rescue, Echo doing the actual rescuing being faster and stronger. Del gains sense of real respect for her young partner.)

Holiday decorating

Del hummed "let it snow" as she pranced about a small pine tree that had taken up the corner of her and Echo's room. She had wanted her own personal to decorate for Christmas to keep presents under. Having one in the main lobby of the ghost of the past headquarters would invite disaster considering how many babies tended to crawl around it.

Her father had agreed to get her and Kishi each a small real tree as long as she promised to water it and clean up it's needles each day. She'd promised to do so and now she had her tree. A real live tree that was just begging to be decorated. To go from being a bland but pleasant smelling decoration to the centerpiece of her room.

Now she and Echo were circling the tree and placing decorations on it. She'd had a bit of help from her father putting on the lights but everything else was her and Echo's choosing of where it went. A few sugar cookies baked by Kishi went up, Echo would probably steal them before the holidays but at least they'd look good until then.

Echo was content to carry a basket of decorations for Del to pick out of. He got to help choose what went where but he had no desire to attempt to place anything on the tree. His weight even this young would knock the thing over.

After a very long and half fun half stressfull hour of putting on lights, cookies, balls and other decorations Del and Echo stepped away from their tree content. "It's perfect"

snowfall

All it had taken was one night to transform the world from a colourful if dying place to a place of crisp, white, pristine perfection. Snow lay on the ground at least a foot of it and while some were pleased with the thought of a white Christmas others were not so happy. Kishi could see evidence of this as people growled and huffed turning red as they tried to clear sidewalks and driveways.

Looking down at the sad path someone had made through the snow on the sidewalk in front of her Kishi shook her head. There’d be no walking or jogging today, the snow wasn’t even and she could hurt herself. She’d have to clear the sidewalk first, hopefully that would be a good substitution.

A few flakes continued to fall and burned for a few seconds as they landed on her wings. while The succubus child was bundled up she wore a coat that allowed her wings full movement ( which was not easy to get into). Thus the appendages were forced to endure the hardships of the cold wind and falling snow. “ I’m going to make this a quick shovelling job.” She murmured and turned to head inside for a shovel.

However, before she got there she came face to face with Del and Echo her dragon partner. Holding a pair of shovels and broken shovel bottom “ Hey Kishi come on we’re gonna go shovel Mrs. Beal’s driveway for eight dollars we’ll split it with you.” The dolphin girl was bungled up tighter than her sibling and even her tail was wrapped in a scarf due to her not quite normal skin.

Kishi debated this for a moment then nodded, why not. Mrs. Beal was a nice enough lady and she somehow couldn’t see her clearing her driveway, not with a shovel in one hand and a cane in the other. Besides after all the holiday shopping she’d done Kishi could use a little extra money.

Two hours later Two tired red faced girls and one exhausted dragon collapsed into a soggy pile on the living room floor. They’d ended up shoveling more than just one driveway and made quite a bit of money. Kishi had ended up wearing a weird thermal cape thing loaned to them by an angelic neighbour who said he knew what snow ands cold did to wings of any sort.

Echo had done the most work acting like a big snow plow but Del and Kishi had worked hard as well. For Del she’d come out of it with a fair amount of pocket change
and a healthy respect for people who did that every day.

For Kishi she’d certainly worked out and had managed to block out or work past the negative feelings currently haunting her, at least for now.

Too many bodies?

“Hazard stop bugging Fade before he bites you. ” Del sat on her bed reading the first issue of Mystic a comic she’d been given for Christmas. In her lap sat Sucra the peppermint colour furred creature she’d received as a present from the skunk boy Fleur. Curled at her feet was Echo was who pointedly trying to ignore the two mini dragons Hazard and Fade. Though they were only a few inches long they were capable of being rather big nusances.

It was strange and comforting to have so many additions to her room, in a way it made up for the fact that her family seemed to be going through some sort of tense transition period relating to when the house dissapeared. In other ways she wanted the peace and quiet back of when it was just her and Echo.

Still as she absently pet Sucra and felt her silky fur slide under her sensitive Del felt it couldn't be too bad. Eventually things would settle and she'd get used to it all. Even Echo would accept the new members presence especially since he knew how much she treasured and respected him. Yes in time they would all be a happy family or at least she hoped so.

They'd be happier than the siblings in Mystic anyways. Del couldn't imagine having to deal with her special moment being interrupted by Kishi or Kay and then watching the powers she was supposed to get be given to oen of them by accident. Engrossed in the comic once again Del blocked out the sounds of her new roomates and continued to read.
