His eyes watered slightly as her tiny, needle like claws brushed against his nose, but left no damage.] "What a little warrior," [he mused. Although, it was substantially easier once she stopped trying to get away. My purring stopped all of a sudden and I looked up with fire in my eyes when I heard Brisk-kit growl.] "Hey!" [I hissed defensively. Then I slowly shook my head, Amberpaw didn't know that he didn't like that, and she certainly didn't know that that wasn't what I meant when I said she could touch them. I sighed and blinked at her.] "Sure.... I'll.... be .... sure to tell him that" [I meowed slowly as she padded out of the nursery. I sighed and picked up Halokit and placed her back to my stomach, to which she began purring happily. Apparently glad to be away from my tongue. Then, I took Brisk-kit and placed him between my paws and began to rasp my tongue over his fur.] "Yeah. Quite stubborn actually. That'll be good for her though. That means she won't always give in to everything." [I meowed between licks.] "I'll bet you. That she" [I poked Neonkit] "Will have your eyes" [I meowed happily.] "Though... I think Neonkit has my tail" [I meowed as I peered closer] "I mean look at it. It's so much longer than Halokit's or Brisk-kit's" [I blinked purred and continued to rasp my tongue over Brisk-kit. I laughed as I remembered Neonkit] "Halokit is fiery. But Neonkit will be the handful. She already has such energy. I think there was something in my mother that she passed on that gives you energy and skipped me." [I chuckled and continued] "She squirmed when I licked her. No surprise there, but then she let out a squeak and started squirming all over the place. Just... Batting at everything she could get her cute little paws on. She just kept on squirming excitedly until Featherheart helped me and picked her up and placed her right there. Where she hasn't moved from the spot." [I blinked lovingly at my three lovely kits.   [Neonkit pulled away from Skywisker's stomach and squeaked when she heard a kit growl. Sister? She let out a squeak but kept on suckling. When she felt another presence enter the nursery and come closer, only then did she fully pull away from Skywisker. Neonkit looked, or rather, bobbed her head around trying to locate the newcomer. She squeaked again when she heard another growl, her brother's this time. Neonkit tried to growl defensively and protect her brother, when all of a sudden, she sneezed. Sending herself flying backwards. The young kit let out a mewl when she landed at Burrpelt's paws. Neonkit shakily stood up, sort of and batted at the paw happily. Distracted once more. Her head shot up, though, when she sensed something moving. This... thing, now had her attention. So, she crawled forward to Burrpelt's tail and sat on it. Mewling happily.]

[Briskkit felt relieved once the thing poking him stopped. That thing was annoying! If he ever opened his eyes, he hoped to find who or what was poking him. Suddenly, he was lifted into the air and placed between his mothers paws. He had to admit, it was comfortable. It would probably be even more comfortable if he was sitting on something as soft as Skywisker's paws. After Skywisker rasped his tongue over him once, Briskkit decided that he would attempt to find his father. Stumbling onto his paws, the brown tabby began to make his way towards Burrpelt.]It would be pretty easy if you would just come to me.."

All the kits were so happy and energetic, their quirky personalities starting to peek through as they got a feel of the world. The queen looked up at her mate, leaning against him slightly as she felt a purr rise in her throat. They had been through it all, but they had survived and shown they were prospering as they continued on with normal Clan life. When her kits few up, Brightspirit hoped they would fight for their Clan as their parents had, facing every kind of danger but never giving up. Being a true warrior meant you fought for what was right. She looked down at her kits once more to murmur] "My little warriors.. [The tender moment was ruined as her stomach grumbled hungrily. Brightspirit looked up, laughing, to her mate, giving him a swift lick on the cheek, having to stretch very far to do so] "Love, can you go and get me some food? Then maybe go stretch your legs? The kits and I are fine, don't worry" [The queen grinned as Riverfang ducked his head sheepishly. He was too cute] "Of course, I'll be back later, bye kittens, be safe!" [Licking each of the four on their heads, Riverfang then straightened and rubbed his cheek against his mate's before turning and exiting the nursery, smiling to himself. The queen unwind her tail from around the kits and gave them a little push, green eyes soft before lying down and stretching out, eyes half-open so she could sort of rest a little and watch the kits at the same time] "Go play now, okay little ones?" __________________________________________________________________________________________________ I CAN SURVIVE IT ALL WITH YOU Even after all this time,

I grabbed the nearest one, Lightningkit, and began to groom him again, narrowing my eyes with contentedness. I scooped my other kittens together, smushing them in a bundle in front of my face.]
"Welcome to the world, my lovelies," I breathed softly, watching them with kind blue eyes. "You are kittens of StormClan, the strongest Clan of all. One day you will be strong warriors, fighting for your Clan, and making me proud. But you'll have to be kittens first, so enjoy who you are right now at this moment. Every day leads onto the next-never forget that."
I snuggled my face against them, twitching my tail in happiness, and cooed, "My babies, you are so adorable! What precious, beautiful warriors I have!"

[Dustpaw leaped through the entrance of the nursery, landing lightly. It felt smaller and more cramped to the apprentice than when he had been a kit, but there had been fewer queens back then and he had been smaller, after all. The sight of a black queen with four(?) kits caught his attention. Thunderflight. The sight of his friend with her kits made a purr rumble in the patchy apprentice's chest.] "Hello, Thunderflight, Skywhisker," [Dustpaw mewed a friendly greeting, dipping his head to the two queens. The warm milky sent reminded him of the seemingly endless moons he had spent cooped up in here.]
[Swishing his overly fluffy tail, Dustpaw tilted his head to the side, eyes shining. So these little runts were Thunderflight's kits? They were so cute! Dustpaw sat at the edge of the nursery, out of the way, and wrapped his bushy tail around his paws. He had learned not to get to close to a queen with young kits, especially if it was her first litter. He had learned that the hard way when a queen had scratched him on the nose for getting to close to her new born kits, but that had been nearly two moons ago.]
[Turning to look at Skywhisker, the StormClan apprentice smiled and dipped his head in greeting. Her kits were adorable as well, though, the same went for Skywhisker as Thunderflight. 'Don't get too close to the kits,' Dustpaw reminded himself, not wanted to get scratched on the nose again.]

I had been in the nursery more often than I had been before and I'd made friends with the kittens in the nursery at the time; Dustpaw was, particularly, one I had gotten close to. He was particularly bouncy and energetic, and I'd become affectionate of him.]
"Hello, Dustpaw!" I greeted warmly, swishing my fluffy tail. "Well, don't just stand there-come meet your Clanmates!"
[I nodded for him to come closer, my eyes filled with kindness. I knew he could play a bit rough, but I figured he learned his lesson after last time. D U S T P A W
[Dustpaw mewed excitedly, ears pressed forwards. He bounced to his paws, hopping across the nursery. The patchy apprentice crouched beside Thunderflight, his haunches squirmed excitedly, causing his body to tremble with excitement. The kits were so cute and so tiny! He leaned forward, sniffing the tiny bundles of fur. His tongue stretched out tentatively to lick one of the squirming, mewling scraps of new life resting between Thunderflight's forepaws (Lightningkit). It was almost frightening for the bushy tailed StormClan apprentice. He could kill the kit if he did anything out of line!]
"What did you name them?" [Dustpaw mewed inquisitively. His blue eyes wide with curiosity.] "Thunderflight? Was I ever that little and helpless?" [When he asked this question a very worried expression crossed his face. Dustpaw's face was clouded with worry and curiosity. What if he hurt one of these little one?!]

I purred] "Hello Dustpaw" [And continued my licking, assuming he was going to come closer and look at the kits closely. After a few moments had passed silently, I looked up. Only to see him sitting far away. What was he doing? I nodded in agreement to Thinderflight] "Yeah, we don't bite. Though I can't say the same for the kits" [I purred. I chuckled, licking his cheek affectionately, and said warmly, "We were all kittens once, Dustpaw. Kits may be unable to defend themselves, but they sure aren't helpless. They've got the wits of a fox and the pride of a lion! And they're known for trouble-causing. Don't underestimate a kit or you'll encourage them to do rash things.
Besides, you've grown into a fine young apprentice, and you'll be an even finer warrior! So lighten up now. Don't count your berries till you're finished picking them."
[I purred at him, nodding with self-satisfaction, then stretched, unsheathing my claws in the process before relaxing and letting out a yawn.]
"Ho, but how restless I am!" I admitted, sapphire eyes filled with eagerness. "I want to run in the forest, hunt a bird, climb a tree! Anything to get out of this den, comfy as it is. I've been sitting on my bum for so long...if only I could bring my kittens with me."
[I sighed, letting out a chuckle. [Softspirit entered the nursery quietly, not wanting to disturb any of the queens and kits. Padding over to her previous mentor, she laid a squirrel in front of the queen.] "Thunderflight, I brought you something. I didn't know if you've eaten already so.." [She said, trailing off when she spotted her new kits. Excitement filled her eyes, as they squirmed against Thunderflight's body. She laughed and looked around the nursery, seeing Skywhisker's kits.] "So many kits! If you'll excuse me Thunderflight, I want to see Skywhisker's kits." [She meowed quickly, before prancing off to see the other litter. Looking down at all the kits, she nosed a fluffy brown tabby (Briskkit) and giggled.] "Skywhisker? What did you name this one?" [She wondered.]

Maybe now I wouldn't be so bored while I waited for my kits to grow into apprentices. I purred a greeting to Softspirit and looked back down after the warrior padded to Thunderflight. So you could imagine my surprise when she padded to me. I purred and used my tail to sweep my kits together.] "Alright my kitties. We have a visitor. This here is Softspirit. HALOKIT! Don't bite her!" [I chuckled and picked up Halokit by the scruff and placed her between my paws] "Sorry about that" [I purred] "Kits. They bite everything. That one? He's Brisk-kit" [I meowed and rasped my tongue over Halokit, who had started to squirm in her spot between my paws.] "You can go back if you don't bite her again" [I purred and placed her back by her siblings] "Now where is Neonkit?" [I trailed off and looked around, my gaze resting on where she was sitting on Burrpelt's tail mewing happily. I laughed and looked back to Softspirit] [Halokit let out a squeak when her mother picked her up. There she was, having fun chewing on the really soft thing, when momma had to ruin her fun. "Yes, thank you very much, Softspirit!" I purred kindly. "I was just starting to get hungry."
[I took the squirrel gently, beginning to dig into it. I nodded as Softspirit excused herself to peer at Skywisker's kittens. As I ate, I allowed my kittens to sniff the morsel.]
"This is a squirrel," I murmured to my kittens softly, love glowing in my sapphire eyes. "Squirrels are prey. We hunt prey in the forest. One day, when you're an apprentice, you'll be taught how to hunt prey. And then you can catch some prey for your Clan! But you cannot eat the prey you catch. A warrior does not eat until they've caught prey for their Clan. Understand? That is part of the warrior code."
[I purred at them lovingly as I spoke of the warrior code, gently murmuring lessons that would soon be ingrained in their mind like it had been with all of us. The warrior code would come second nature to them, and they would be grand warriors indeed!
I had as much pride and faith in them as any queen would, if not a little more. They were my kittens-my real kittens. A dream I'd had for moons.
And they were Whisperblade's, too. I purred at the thought of my mate, a bashful warmth spreading across me at the thought of him.]
Turning to Dustpaw, I said, "You should run along now, Dustpaw, lest Featherheart skin you for idling so long! I'm sure she's looking for you by now, though I enjoy your company.
Just think, in a few moons, we'll be in the warrior's den together! If you work hard, that is. You still have about five moons of training. By then I'll almost be out of the nursery. Isn't that great?
So go on. Go work hard and make me proud."
[I licked the tom affectionately on his head, sending him off. He was my adoptive son, I thought to myself. Or perhaps a brother. His parents didn't mind our closeness; I regarded him as my kin and watched out for him.
The thought of him being a warrior one day made me feel funny. He'd be full grown, and fighting. Ah, grown up so fast...it was melancholic, but then, he'd be in the same den as me! By my side.
Just like my kittens might be one day!
That thought made me warmer than ever. I pulled my kittens close again, snuggling them with an affectionate cheek.]
"Don't grow too fast, now," I sighed, licking them and purring. "Mommy wants to be by your side, always."
