Facts about me: Ember Robinwood
2014: To put it simply: I'm a nerd. I love video games and reading, I love writing and music, and I'm a die hard Tolkien fan.I also love nature and animals. I do volunteer work and I'm going to college. Unsurprisingly, I'm a biology major. I want to be a naturalist and work at a nature center. However, I wouldn't mind being a college professor.
I also love history and traveling. I enjoy going to museums and visiting historical cites. Learning and knowledge are perhaps the two greatest driving forces in my life.
2023 Update: In 2014 I said I wanted to become a naturalist. Mission accomplished! I'm a naturalist, specifically a herpetologist. As a naturalist, I work at a nature center and teach nature and environmental education classes. As a herpetologist, I study reptiles and amphibians and perform field research; my specialization focuses on snakes.
2025 Update: I've been focusing my career as a naturalist on animal care in captivity. I completed my Husbandry & Captive Management Program recently and led a workshop at a state-wide conference focusing on animal enrichment in captivity. I recently declared "an expert" and have been brought on as a consultant for nature centers, museums, and zoos. In a few weeks I'll be completing a venomous snake handling certification. It's been a whirlwind and I wouldn't have it any other way!
