 "This is Halloween, this is Halloween" (Super 8 ) 554 words
Ariel knew there was not really time for her to party because she needed to seriously study for the upcoming test but even if you said it she loved this atmosphere and so decided to go in town and do some shopping.
She started window shopping quietly, she was not looking for anything in particular, but in this seasons the shops tend to have a lots of different candles types so maybe she would find something nice. She didn’t had a lot of money so she forced herself to not go to her favourite music shop, because she knew she would probably end up buying CDs.
While doing window shopping she thought about what happened recently and how she was quite out of what happened in the city, she really need to read some newspapers, she would go at the library when she finished her studies to catch up a little and to say hi to Anthony.
She ended up at a costume shop, selling strange hoodies, animals’ type hoodies. She thought it was quite interesting so she went inside. Stunning, so many different kind of animals represented in hoodies, she tried some, the panda one, the mousse one and the rabbit one. But at the end she picked the squirrel one, the brown and white colours and the tail was just too cute.
Smiling like a kid, thinking about when she would be able to wear it she almost knocked herself on a wall. But she was lucky enough to stop just before. Watching the wall like if it came in front of her deliberately, she saw a handmade poster. It was a girl who was making an Halloween party at her home to surprise a friend.
“Hum” she thought for herself, she didn’t know the girl but she was saying she wanted to invite everyone welling to come and it was for free. So why not? Ariel thought.
“So I need a new costume” because she grew up since last year and the ones before was cute but already too small for her. It would not be difficult to find a costume two days before Halloween …. But actually it was. Everyone already had plan and bought the costume. Nothing caught her eyes in the first five shops.
Last one she knew was in a small alley where she hoped no one will go too frequently. She started searching between the princesses costume, the witch ones and finally she found one, a pirate women.
“Perfect”. She paid it and then because she already spent all her pocket money left she decided to go back home to try her new costume. Like this if it is no good she will still have time to bring it back at the shop before the party.
One hour later, she looked at herself in the mirror, the costume was fitting her perfectly so no need to go back. She put her new clothes in her wardrobe and then went bed. Tomorrow she will study again.

Meeting at the game center 604 words (Super 9) Ariel was walking in the street without real purpose, just watching around the news things appearing in shops for the new season. Spring would soon be here and so the shops were ready with new collection…even if outside the snow was still falling pretty hard. She was wearing a red shirt with checks and long brown boots. She had a white sweat and a long white coat and a pink scarf around her neck.
She was suddenly attracted by a game center, something actually pretty rare for her because she usually don’t like noisy place or video games. But what attracted her was not a video game but more a strange machine with plushies inside. She actually totally fell for one of the plush inside, it was a big white rabbit with a bow on his neck and something strange was the rabbit had a pig noise. The title of the box said “Pig-rabbit”
She was mesmerized by this plush, she wanted one. “So cute” she said with a girly voice, not her usual voice because she didn’t really become childish often. She looked at the machine and tried to understand how it works. It seemed she needed to put money and tried to grab the plush with the sort of metallic grips.
She tried once and totally failed, twice, three, four time and the result was the same. Because she didn’t like to lose she kind of started to be upset again this UFO catcher (she heard the name from people playing at the next machine). It already cost her some money, but there was no way she would go back home without this little fluffy one.
“Why it is not working” she thought loudly. Obviously it was her first time so people around didn’t really mind it, except one guy. He was looking at her since she comes inside but of course she didn’t noticed. He came next to her suddenly. “May I help you?” he asked. She looked at him, he was actually cute, wearing red glasses, he didn’t looked like someone who will often hit on girls.
At first her pride didn’t allowed her to accept, but she already spent more money than she should have. She looked back at him, “You think you will be better than me?” she asked, with a little “I am not that bad” kind of voice. The guy smiled at her, a really cute and warm smile making Ariel’s heart skip a beat and he replied “Actually I am an addict to this kind of game so I am not bad”.
He then placed himself in front of the machine and started playing. Just in one try he caught one pig-rabbit like if it was as simple as this, making Ariel blushed quite hard. He turned back to her and gave the plush to her. She thought “he has big hand” when compared to the small plush. She took it a little embarrassed. “Thank you…” she wanted to say his name but she didn’t know it of course.
“Raphael” he said guessing she wanted the information. She smiled, “Thank you Raphael then”; she paused, wondering if she would introduce herself but because she tended to be careful about men, but this guy looked nice. “I am Ariel” she finally said. “Nice to meet you” she said offering to shake hands, which he did, and replied “Nice to meet you too”. Then giggling at the pig rabbit she nodded and then started walking back home. She didn’t saw that Raphael caught the same plush as hers and hold it warmly while watching her walking away.

"Happy 18th Birthday !" 609 words (super 10) (actually written on June 8th 2020)
Ariel met with Raphael, some times after, usually finding him at the game center, always with a big bag full of plushies. They started to talk a lot, then he taugh her the way to do. And slowly but surely their relationship started to be a little more than friendship. They went on date at cinema and went to eat outside too. But it was only at Ariel 18th anniversary that they become an official couple.
The evening was sweet, and as Ariel didn't really had friend, only Raphael was with her. As it was cold outside, they had dinner at her home. Her parents let them alone with a smile in their face. "We don't want to disturb you" they said. Ariel tried to point out they were not but her blushing was not helping at all.
So Raphael arrived on time, like he always do, with a red rose bouquet and a cute candle present box. It as actually a candle in the shape of a present box.
"Thank you she said. I didn't had this type, that perfect."
Raphael wanted to add that he knew because last time he came here to ride horse he sneakily asked her mother about what type of present would be nice, and of course she replied candles, and she added "with interesting shape". But that would be blow off the surprise so he didn't.
So they had a romantic dinner, of course with candles lightening up the table. And they sat after in front of the fireplace, talking first then they watched a movie, well an animation movie actually, it was called "The nutscracker" and it was one of Ariel's favourite one. She watched it every year at Christmas. But because Raphael didn't knew it they decided to watch it tonight again.
It was a romantic story with Clara, a young girl who meet a nut cracker, and she learnt it as actually a boy who was cursed, and so with her love and courage she managed to broke the enchantment and she met the boy at the end.
While watching, Ariel and Raphael were under the blanket, even though the fireplace made the room hot enough, having blanket on them was just a way to make the atmosphere even more cosy.
And so naturally their hand started to join, then their fingers started to linked. And at the end of the movie, Raphael turned to Ariel saying, "Happy Birthday, I am so thankfull you are born, I love you" , putting his free hand on her cheek, and she replied "Me too" and they exchanged a sweet kiss, smiled at each other and kissed again.
It was now already 10 pm, and the parents came home, 18 doesn't mean you should be up too late. They giggled watching the two love birds saying good bye in the front of the door. "Told you so" said the mom. "Well it's always hard for a father to let go of his daughter, but Raphael is a good guy so. But I would prefer they don't kiss too much in front of me" he said honestly.
Ariel came back inside and hugged her parents. "Thank you for being my parents" she said. They hugged back, "thank you for being our daughter" they replied "and congratulation getting your first boyfriend" her mother added.
"Your really miss nothing" said Ariel joyfully.
"I guess, now time to bed young lady".
"Yes mom".
She kissed good night to her parents, went in her room, and put the present candle next to the collection of plushes she got from Raphel. "My boyfriend" she giggled, and went to bed.
