I am a great fan of all things Victorian, so I am currently enjoying the influence that AiW is having on the fashion industry. However, I am also slightly angry that random people are just buying the new products because they "look cool". =/

Toxic Alice Ohh wow, arsenic as well? I knew about the mercury, but wow. Didn't expect arsenic, as well. o.O Hmm. Now I kinda wanna find a profession and learn about it where almost every element involved is poisonous and do a short essay on it... Right? I didn't expect to find that either... totally brought the term "mad as a hatter" to new light for me. lol, if you ever do an essay like that I wouldn't mind reading it xD; sounds interesting~

As much as I love Alice, I'd much rather dress like a queen. So, some of the AiW fashion things are cute for me. Mainly the ones that involve queenly items. And hearts.

look at the stars It bugs the heck outta me, but I thought I was alone in my interest protectiveness. : D I still need to venture into the depths of Hot Topic in an effort to grab some Alice garb...
It also annoys me that some people (and myself, at times) call it "Alice in Wonderland" instead of the original title, which is rather silly...XD
look how they shine for you

@Queen: o; well we're technically only leaving out one word when we say "Alice in Wonderland" as opposed to "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" .. sweatdrop it's easier... and I'm sure most of us first got into it via Disney's original cartoon which used that title.

There were even people asking 'Why does the queen say 'Off with her head?' I mean, really. Even if you aren't a fan of Alice in Wonderland, isn't that a bit of trivia people are supposed to know about it?

This same thing happened when Covenant came out as well as Twilight, its like witches and vampires weren't as cool too the main populace until people saw those movies. Don't get me wrong, Depps Hatter was cool enough....but I don't and won't cosplay his version, I have my own...well clearly, as I do in real life as well. Although I enjoyed the movie (went too mainly see it because of Stayne) But I must say I enjoyed it alot more when it was just the fans here and there.

Yeah, I'm starting to miss Alice being like, a rare phenomenon. I love being able to find stuff all over the place, but I'll be really happy when people stop caring about Alice.

*~*~* ugh, Don't get me started on Twilight.
As books, Twilight was a good read. end of story. As vampire books, they SUCKED! I mean comon!
and the movies in my opinion were just trash. I don't know where Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart learned to act...but I know 12 year olds that could have played those characters better.
And the hype about "vampires". I was a horror creature lover back to 4th grade. Always wrote/rped/read vamps, werewolves, zombies, frankenstein etc. Now- its just disgraceful. The same cheerleader type girls that wouldn't know a vampire from a succubi are obsessed with them.
Sorry. Rant over. >.< Told ya, you didn't want to bring up twilight. =p *~*~*
|The Cat of Spades is my name I say 'the' for there is but One And she and I are the same. If nonsense be what you dream You need only look for me (look high) (look low) Everything is not as it may seem...|

Slightly. But what always makes me feel better is when someone who gets into the fashion wants to try out the original Wonderland or discuss the manuscript for Alice's Adventures Underground. I love when the fad leads to an obsession and an appreciation for the writing. Books are amazing and important and if they get respect, I'm all for this fad. However, I sort of feel like people are trying to suck out every shred of originality this story has. But then again, I also try to remember this story was only meant to be written for Alice, so we're all intruding in a way.
