ѕυ¢н α ☆вєαυtιfυℓ ∂ιѕαѕ+єя☆ *~*~* Its nice because we can now find some accessories and other things that were so difficult to find...but...
Don't you feel annoyed with the hype about AiW...its only because of the Disney Movie and Johnny Depp... WE liked it first - the original version.
Anyone else feel these sentiments when a friend starts going on about the movie, when they would ignore you when you would bring up AiW in the past? *~*~*

This was going to happen when the movie came out anyway. It won't last too long I'm guessing.
Its nice there is more AiW stuff but I know what you mean with people who haven't read the book or watched the older movies.
The main reason I'm going to watch this movie is Absolem (the Caterpillar) anyway.
But one thing...
Maybe all this hype for the movie will make more people interested in the original AiW. If people watch this movie and then wish to learn more about AiW surely this is a good thing? Just a thought.

I didn't know the movie was coming out until i finally finished reading the book, and now EVERYONE i know is obssesed with it because of the movie. it makes me go~ "ehhhh" stare , but least now hopefully like azure says, people will want to know about it. However, yes! I do like the new product growth. whee

I don't pay any attention to people who follow hype. They'll lose interest, we'll remain, and we'll have a bunch of kickass accessories that we will still love long after they've gone on to the next trend. First it was The Joker, then the Watchmen, Transformers.. Now it's Alice in Wonderland.
The next time someone who's following hype dares to say they've always loved Alice, ask them trivia like "What's the name of the children the original was written for? What's the author's real name? When was the book published?" And watch them stare blankly.

I agree with you, use this time to gather up accesories and the sort, I mean you won't get another chance for quite sometime, other people will get over this thing soon, at least this isn't as bad as all the Twilight hype, that was horrible, and still is.

If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't.
Completely agreed. We'll still have our wonderful knowledge and novelties that we can make use of where as they'll end up wasting a bunch of money on their fad and supporting one of our greatest delights at the same time. And yeah, Cheshire's right - at least it's not as bad as Twilight. -_- Now THAT was ridiculous, and will just get worse with the next two movies. >_<
And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

It's REALLY annoying that there's a bunch of new 'fans'. I've faced many and they claim to be the biggest fans. And yet they have no clue what it's about. I'm not going to see the movie in fear I might be mistaken for one of them...
I've talked to them and half didn't even know wonderland was a book until the commercial told them so.
This is the exact same thing that happened with Twilight. I read the books a good year and a half before the movie. And now everyone is the biggest fan and they have yet to read everyhing. It's ridiculous.

I just have to go watch it, even if that means braving all these new fans... I must... because Absolem has been in no trailers and I want to see him in the film!
>_>
Sorry bit of a rant there... anyway I've also noticed some people didn't know AiW was a book first... that's just... rather odd really.

She was staring at me with big eyes like she never knew that there was a book about AiW. She just stared at me D: It got creepy so i walked off..

I'm excited about the movie, but I really dislike the fake "fans" its generating. Luckily, the people around school have known that I've Alice in Wonderland for a long time, so I don't have too many peeps thinking I only like AiW because of the Tim Burton movie.
AND YES! ALAN RICKMAN AS THE CATIILLAR = AHMAYZING. Or, at least, he should be.
And as much as I dislike the new "fans," I'm still totally planning on seeing it in an IMAX theater at 12:00 AM. XD

Incredibly for me everyone knew I was an Alice in Wonderland fan to the extreme before they even knew such a movie existed. There were a few fools along the way who thought I didn't know about the movies potential for at least three years and tried to say "Hey guess what, did you know there's an Alice in Wonderland movie coming out?" to which I would generally ferociously shout "INDEED I DID MISTER CATERPILLAR! DID YOU KNOW YOU STATE OBVIOUS FACTS?"

If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't.
Same with everyone knowing me as an Alice fan BEFORE all of this nonsense. I mean hell, my nickname's been Alice for a good....like almost six and a half years now. And my friends are thankfully decent enough to keep their mouths closed around me ever since I snapped at them, pointing out the fact that none of them had ever read the books. -_- Now, before thy say anything, they're sure to either ask me about it first and confirm their knowledge, or wait til I'm out of hearing distance. Once they learned their place in MY Wonderland, they were more respectful towards Dodgson's work. >_<
And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

I like being original. It bugs me when anyone starts liking something I like.
And all these people are telling me when they see the trailer in the movie theater, they'll randomly call me or text me saying "Sharon!! Guess what!?" to which I anxiously reply "What? :3" then when I see they are telling me about the movie, i say "NO DUH. You'd think that I, the Alice fanatic, would not know that?" to which they respond "Alright! don't have to be a b!$#h about it"
They should know better. I've snapped at them more than once for thinking they know everything about something I have both liked longer and known more about.
It irks me when ANYONE obsesses over something because of a new thing.
I liked it before they did, I know more about it then they do, and I now no longer feel special. It's no longer my thing, it is now everyone's thing. -.-
I'm still really excited about the movie, though.
And like, my guy friend. He told me one day "I started reading Alice in Wonderland, but got bored and quit"
Then just because he finds a version in French he starts reading it. =.=
I'm like this for EVERYTHING I like/do first. Unless I tell them specifically to do something, it bugs me.
BUT I DO HAVE TO SAY that I am GLAD this has become a fad because now Twilight is less popular.
And this won't last long. I read somewhere that they are releasing the DVD sooner than most in order to sell more. I don't know if they really are, but I'm pretty sure they are.
Sorry this was so long. I tend to ramble when something annoys me. Lol

ѕu¢н α ☆вєαυtιfυℓ ∂ιѕαѕ+єя☆ *~*~* Most definitely. When I first heard of the movie I went YAY...then when I heard Johnny Depp was gonna play the Hatter I went YAY. Then I realized that EVERYONE was going to freak and went... not yay.
I have had a few people try to request to the guild saying simply stupid things like "OMG I CANT WAIT FOR THE MOVIE" etc... and I hope no one minds that I am just declining their requests.
Caterpillar makes a good point - its a great time to get wonderland themed outfits and accessories. Though I was very disappointed in the stuff available from the Disney store. They had an Alice in Wonderland book. I picked it up and started looking at it and went WTF! WHO WROTE THIS! I looked at the author - Tim Burton REWROTE his own book. I threw it down and I think scared the sales lady. *~*~*
